First off. People are assuming that we are going to visit Cantha fair too much. Nothing is said bout it. And there even have been sounds from Anet that is saying the opposite.

Having said that I assume it is very much possible. We know that the Canthans in gw1 had a friendly relation with the tengu. While the Tengu in Tyria then where hostile. Later that turned around. Now the Tyrian’s Tengu are friendly and if there is any Tengu remaining in Cantha it will be a poor bugger, cause they are all hunted down.

The merits are only neededfor tier 2 of the missions, tier one can be unlocked by researching level 6. Each of four lines (architecture, economy, etc) have now a tier 6. after unlocking that you can build a guildmission (each type has one type of guildmission). To get tier 2 your need merits and more influence.

To be honest this threath is too much considered from a human pov. We are (almost) the only the only species on the world that kill eachother and we do it on a huge scale.

First off all to get a bit on topic. Utopia is a cancelled expansion. It was cancelled in favor of EotN and GW2. many good ideas have been re-used but when it comes to discussing lore, lore isn’t lore yet untill it is published. So in my opinion Utopia is what the names implies, it doesnt exist.

There is also never said that it would have been a continent (thats just assumption cause every campaign released those days was a continent, though in the case of elona one could argue that, and Cantha is rather small compared to the elona-tyria-and much more-continent). The only guess is that artwork that was allready development was replaced to the tarnished coast. But it might have always been planned to be there.

Will we ever visit the lands of Utopia?? no, or atleast not as we know it. If we visit it, it will be nothing alike how it was planned, the reason is that the good things they made is re-used and the rest is rubish. So basicly, Utopia is a continent of failures and wrong idea’s I have no intention to go there to be honest

in both pvp and pve an ele can be better, but it is also the hardest profession to play, So success depends on your own skill. Best is to try them both till level 20. Someone who cant handle the ele will be useless.

a: There is a good reason you are not allowed to post names here. The way you react to the mods taking action is an indication that you might not be 100% innocent either. Do not be mistaken I do believe the people who kicked you at that point in the dungeon are rotten kittens!!I understand certain people need some more practise before participating in a pug. But you know that after like 10 minutes in, and not when at the endboss. Besides that the thingy at the gw2lfg site is just childish and inmature.

b: If you can select their name and your in the same map you can rightclick their name and report. If not (as is the case now) you have to file a support ticket at https://en.support.guildwars2.com/

In this situation I would really urge you to do so. The mods will investigate. Though it will be hard for them to prove this person is behind the trolling on the gw2lfg it is very likely an indication that something fishy was going on.

Thats why I said enslaved and not corrupted. What I mean is that if! primordus works together with dredge it won’t be for the dredges best interest but his own. With enslaved I mean it is up to him what to do with them when he is done with them.

There are a lot of currency’sin the game, but when it comes to player/player interaction there are two mayor currency’s
a: gold
b: gems

Gems are very straightforward. you use them in the gemstore to get unique or nearly unique items. You can buy them for reallife money or for in game gold (but you are always buying them from a person who bought them with ingame gold). So very straight forward.

The real economy is game gold. The most important trade market is the black lion’s trading post. The problem with is that still too many people don’t know how it works.

a: when putting on something on it for sale you loose a fee for adverstising to Anet.
b: never go for the highest offered price. bout every item (atleast what Ive encountered) is allready for sale, so match the lowest seller or, if you want to be cheeky go one or two copper below that price.

There are methods of working the market, but basicly it deals with buying stuff from people who didn’t do point A (they sold for the lowest offer, wich would be yours then) and sell it according to point B (the price it is actually worth). (actually it is just like reallife, people buy things for low prices, and sell for high prices, the thing is if your are a trader or a consumer )

First of all I would like to separate your conclusion from your reasoning. We know just too litle from the prelude to have any sustainable clue who or what is behind all this. Flame legion? Jormag? Primordus? Hey it could even be Menzis (e.g.) as a surprise new antigonist to the game..

Your reasoning however is very nice and I totally can see that the Dredge will look at Primordus and the destroyers with different eyes then us. The question remains though if primordus can and will do the same?? Keep in mind that he wants to do the same thing with the dredge as the dwarfes tried to do and that is to enslave them. So at best he might trick them into being allies for a while.

Yes you misunderstood. For a starting character the game is really straight forward as any game. You can’t simply run to the cursed shores from Sheamore and do endgame stuff. Like in any game you have to work hard to get there. However, if someone who did it comes to sheamore he/she will still be better but will still find it challenging.

You must have played other mmo’s to see what the issue is. Have you ever killed a rabbit or a rat in this game? Well in most games, if a level 80 goes to a starterzone he/she can kill anything on the map like a rabbit with one shot (and get no xp or drop either). This game is designed i nsuch a way that if your guildmates come to your area, even when they are 75 levels higher then you, they can and will die too and struggle with the content just like you.

You are however not being upleveled (aside 4 places).

The 5 places where you will be upleveled are:
a: sPvP-maps (this is the only place where you also get different armor, all the traits, and skills and different weapons, in the other 3 places, you still have lower armor rating and weapons and not all the traits)

b: World versus World.

c: Fractals of the mists

d: Festival-maps (not currently active, but at festivals like halloween and wintersday on the festival maps you where upscaled).

I think there has been theory’s and tests of a spinning counterweight in the helicopter to counteract the spin instead of the tail rotor. Due to the tail roto being far more easier it is never used commercially but it could solve the problem.

Elder dragon’s are the ultimate example of chaos elements in my opinion. In many religions, tales, myths, legends, etc, there is one or more chaos elements. There are those driven by hatred or bad things that happened to them, and there are those that are just evil. In that evil they are bringing balance between good and right.

See it as follows. On man has had everything his whole live, and lives i na perfect world. Everyone has plenty of food, lives in big houses, has rich clothes and they don’t have to work at all. You might think he is very lucky. But does he agree?? he wouldn’t know he is lucky cause it is natural to him.

Chaos Elements are elements needed to experience and value joy. The most powerfull ones are those not driven by motivation but are, like the ED’s, just there. No motivation, no reason, they do what they do.

So in the end they are still aspects of nature, and actually very important ones.

Another way to express this effect is in the first chapter of the Silmarillion (Tolkien). Eru (Iluvatar) and the Ainur start making music following a theme designed by the good guy (Eru). However one of the Ainur (Melkor) started to put new elements of it own into the theme, changing the music and making it sound terrible (He is acting as a Chaos element here). The only way to correct this is for Eru and the other Ainur to change the original theme to adjust and bring back harmony. The newly found harmony will be another theme however.

So in the end the chaos elements are responsable for renewal of the world.

The endless ocean has indeed many dangers and dangerous palces. But it is also like the name implies endless. So it is very possible that there are places quaggan’s can live in relativly peace. or atleast lived till threathened by bubbles and Jormag (they also lived or live in the artic seas). They indeed dislike their agressive form. Most likely cause it means they loose control. So they try to avoid that. Last off all, the quaggans we know are all refugee’s. It is very possible we got the wushies, and the tougher ones are still in the deep waters.

A good guide, but there are a lot of things to consider as alternatives. First of all keep in mind most popular daily places get crowded easily too. A second reconsideration is to compare speed with effectiveness. You can do the daily in cursed shore too with relativly ease and get much better rewards (ori-nodes, omnomberry’s, rare and exotic drops.

If choosing a low level area I would recommend using a not maxlevel character. The reason is the downscaling and how enemy’ kitten on 80’s in the crowd. I find doing the troll and the boar in Queensdale a lot easier on my level 40 mesmer then on my lvl 80 engineer.

Do not use the crafting stations in WvW. I know it is convinient but you are not doing your world a favor in case of:
A: your world has often a queu and your robbing a spot for a person really willing to fight for your world
B: your world was outmanned but cause people do their daily crafting there this is robbed.

I recommend doing it in PvE crafting stations. All area’s you named are close to a town or close to a starting area (wich has crafting stations). And you most likely either start or end in a town (to use the vendor or the bank).

well like I said. If your security is that it is open for everyone to take what they want. They didn’t break any rules. So even though I understand your anger and frustration it is not an offense against the eula or code of conduct of the game and therefore not something you can report. Besides that you are not allowed to publish the name of this person cause that is against the code of conduct. So in short there is nothing to get revenge on these people . See this as an opportunity to warn others to reguraly check their guild policy on access to banks.

Hmmm, The only thing you can do is kick the person as a member of your guild. He didn’t do anything wrong (wel not when looking at the game policy). You might want to re-consider your guild policy when it comes to access.

We do it as follow’s
All members can see watch inside the three parts of the bank. All players can deposit. The top part is open for all senior members (you get promoted to senior after two weeks without bad behaviour). so after two weeks you can take stuff out of there (mostly consumables and low level weapons). For the other tabs where the valuable items are you have to ask an officer and it will be mailed to you asap.

Never had any problem with it and all members understand there has to be some kind of security. The only problem we have is that it get cluttered and some people are afraid to ask. So once in a while we have a guild give-away.

Well you wouldn’t notice it anyway. Dragonfights arelike, deal 1 pt damage and get goldmedal and chest at the end.

This sounds like pure pub-talk to me. So I have to guess no. The reason is that it is very hard to prove it is the case but more important for those really wanting those blades, there is a way of making them (recipe is on the wiki page).

there are two possible places you could be. both in the heart of the mist and there are two ways to get out (for both of them).

The first way to get out is to click the PvP icon (the two crossed swords) in your menu bar and choose “Leave the Mists”.

The other depends on your location. You can be in the main area (seeing a purple portal in the distance) or in the training are (some hearts are there present). You can skip the hearts, just run to the other side, up some stairs to a non-functioning portal. Talk to the master of travel to get to the main area. Go through that purple portal there and your in Lions Arch.

Superior rune of divinity only adds to the primary attribute, magic find is a secondary one. So no extra magic find.

The 6th ability of the sup. rune of the undead does stack with Chaotic Tranference (the grandmaster tier for chaos-aatribute of the mesmer).

It does not give more gold.

Magic find only makes the change for uncommon drops higher.
Gold is not uncommon drop but a common one. So it won’t change. However the magic find will help you make more money and yes they do stack. So in your case you have +75% more magic find. So if you had a change of 1% to get a rare drop from a kill it is now 1.75% change.

There is no option to ignore them. Like Astral said however, in my experience they only target guildless people. So best is to create a solo-guild to have a tag behind your name.

Ranger isn’t broken at all. Dunno who is telling you that. The thing is that the ranger (as well as the warrior) is the nooby class. It is rather easy to master it and be succesfull. However it is hard to excell and become better then others. If you like the playstyle and just interested in getting level 80 again thats fine. If you want more challenge you might be interested in the engineer. om first glance they look very like the ranger (stationary turret instead of a moving pet, both ranged, projectile shooters, with medium armor). But thats all simularity’s. The engineer has through it’s toolkits a whole range of specialisations. Take in mind though that it takes time to master a toolkit to its full potential.

Mesmer is a very interested pick as well, and I really enjoy my necromancer.

A question that is impossible to answer without knowing your:
- playstyle
- other armor pieces
- Quality’s in game
- weapons and weaponstats
- kind of pets
- etc
- etc

There is simply no best ascended gear. The stats that would work well for you differ form person to person and from case to case.

The same thing then for every veteran goes: A veteran has a higher change to drop rare loot.

Would you be able?? Yes!
Would it be effective?? No (unless you get help)!

The thing is that in WvW you get upped to level 80, but you don’t have max stats and you need to unlock skills by killing and leveling up.

The solution is joining a zerg. But you could ask yourself (specificly on a server with a queue for WvW) if you are helping your world with taking a spot for a leveling character.

My alternate advise is to level to level 30 so you have reasonable traits, stats and all skills and then you can join the zerg and actually make a difference.

there is a rumour bout adding a new playable race, but no confirmation nor firm facts. If it is comming it will be in a (paid) expansion wich will be announced far ahead of release. So don’t expect that for like 6 months.

a: The 3 Orr zones have been changed, they added two waypoints that will never be contested as well as a redesign of how tuff certain area’s are.
b: the two biggsest bugged events Temple of Balthasar and the Shadow Behemoth have been fixed. They are now doable on a regular basis.
c: No waypoint traveling in a dungeon when anyone in you party is still alive and fighting. To compensate certain parts of dungeon’s have been re-balanced in difficulty. Other parts however have been made more difficult.
d: Flame and Frost prelude: the start of what they call the living story. It will progress over the next few months. The first part is kinda cheasy and easy imo, they added fugitives in wayfairer foothills and diessa plateau, helping them grants a title and a bunch of extra karma.
e: change of daily monthly system. Both have now an inscreen overlay where you can keep track in game. first only the daily is visable then when you’ve done that it will change to monthly. The tasks you have to do rotate now and daily isn’t the same everyday.

hmmmm this topic is getting derailed imo. Lets stay on topic pls. Ascalonians had a mad king doing wrong stuff, his son tried to save them all, but wasnt (fully)succesfully. The conflict between ascalonians and char is still ongoing. It is Queen Jenai who is behind the treaty and thats the reason why there are speratists imo.

But to the OP I would like to point out that GW1 has had many many plot twists. And though in GW2 it is so far reasonable straigt forward I suspect a few nice ones in the future. The reason why the charr are our friends now is well explained in many many places.

lore wise I have to slightly disagree with you. The destroyer weapons in gw2 where crafted by a norn called Balthor Coalforge. He needed specifick ingredients and he had no destroyers near him. Also the pure ingredients had nothing to do with destroyers. Though still rare the process wich is unknown to us still exists. So one might asume that Balthor has passed his knowledge onwards to present day crafters. Thats why we can still learn the recipes and make them ourselves.

Norn are Norn, They have no Army, they fight for the hunt, for the glory and for the prey (loosly taken from gw1). The Norn don’t believe in good and evil. The tooth of Jormag in the main lodge is proof they still only see Jormag as prey. The dont judge good and evil as we humans do.

The same goes for Asura. Gadd is still aknowledged as a very wise and skillfull asura. Eventhough to our standards he did terrible things. The Inquest might have chosen scientifical paths that other Asuran’s don’t want to go, but they are still scientists. So they are no real outcasts out of community

No… The looks are the same, but the animations will be default. only legendary weapons have different skill effects.

1: wich region are you in?? guessing your time your in Northern America??!! pick an heavy populated one. This game doesnt know things like steal kill or lootstealing. so if more do an event or heart you still get the same rewards. though things scale up when there are more people it isn’t as much, so an active server makes your life easier.

They seem to be wearing some kind of the same style of armor. This doesnt mean that the Vizier’s colouring is the same as that of the King. It could be that every rank has a specifick colour.

Risen Giants count for Risen Slayer achievement . There are some non Risen giants in the game but not much. So are there people who has finished it?? well I’m always surprised how much dedication people put into things and it is possible.

I have both and enjoy them both. My main love is and will always be the engineer. But both in dungeons as in PvP and WvW the mesmer is better.

The reason I prefer the engineer more is the playstyle wich is less chaotic then that of the mesmer imo.

This might be more suited for the suggestions section. Just to add. Though not a true cross map event, a contested temple of name your god in any zone in Orr, makes all statues of that god in all zones of Orr corupted.

First off all, this game is awesome when it comes to respecting others. Most of the social problems you have in other games (kill stealing, loot stealing, etc) is non-existing. And I know this single post won’t make a big difference. But I have a small request for my fellow players.

When you see me dodging an ettin in Queensdale while your killing ettin’s there. Would you kindly leave my ettin alive??

deleting all your characters doesnt let you choose a new homeserver for free. with or without characters you need to buy a servertransfer (wich till last month was free, but that was never intended and cause they had some problems with the guesting service).

You have to pay a servertransfer with gems wich you can buy for cash or with ingame gold. However this doesn’t limit you to playing on another server. You have the ability to guest. As a guest you have full access to a server except for World versus World versus World. And you can permantly guest or put half your farming money away for a servertransfer.

Then to answer your question. A highly populated server is the best for new people. The reason is that there are more people doing events, more friends to find to help you with ps and due to shared loot you still get full loot.

at the back are some tombstones, jump on them to jump to a larger tomb. Then a running jump (with speed boos if possible) to this roof. I’m on gandara (EU), but won’t be able to show you till 7 pm CET tonight.

I only have experience from GW1 with this. But I filed a report as Aly did and in two days time I got a notice that the scammer was banned from the game.

In general Arenanet takes scammers very serious and they will take action against them. However, misuse of this will result in the same actions. So make sure it is a scam and not a trade that feels wrong afterward.
