These event’s can be repeated. For the one in Wayfairer foothills go to the Black citadel first, enter rytlocks office. There is an NPC to replay the dialogue. Watch it and talk to the norn npc to meethim in Houbrak.. Go there, enter Knut’s lodge, watch that cutscene again then go to the gate and your allowed in.

If you don’t understand how to do this, the best suggestion is to ask an expert to help you create two different named shortcuts (gw2 regular and gw2 hq screens) and do this for you (show him/her the wiki page and this post).

I have tried once to explain this on teamspeak to a guildmember, and I failed horrible. So I’m not unwilling to explain this, but a 5 years old won’t be able to do this.

First off all in your argumenting. Guild Wars never had anythign to do with player created guilds, but with the guild wars that happened between player guilds before the events of GW1.

Having said that I totally agree that there should be more and better option to lead a guild.

I disagree with your number 2. I know there are guilds that require representing, but I’ll never join them. But even from their perspective there can be good reasons to allow not representing under some circumstances, one is for a sologuild that is used as private storage. The other is for established members to ‘cool off’. Emotions can run high sometimes. Let guilds decide in their own guildrules to desire members to represent always and regulate that. Do you really want to loose it as an option??

As for guildhalls. I agree 500% and I think that Anet should prioritise this now!
It isn’t even hard to do. The home instances are large enough for any guild. Make an instance window pop-up asking wether you want your private homeinstance or the one of your guild. Some members in my guild are nothing more then a name in the list to me.

Run the game with the -bmp command line option.

What I did was looking at all the weapons and made a shortlist. Then I looked at my alts and realised I have three alts that favor GS. (and all three gs’s are on my shortlist So im going the more painfull road of utlimatly creating Eternity. The final discussion im having with myself is wich alt is going to get the legendary weapon. But it very likely is my guardian just cause she is doing the most for it.

This should explain what the dream is. The nightmare is in my opinion the subconsious part of the dream. The pale tree who is the ’ host’ of the dream is a highly intelligent being that knows what the realworld is and does. The nightmare represents her doubts and fears.

The nightmare court states that Ventari has changed subconsious part of the pale tree and that it should be bigger and more present then it is now. Basicly, forget all there nonsense and idealistics: They are afraid, they fear the threads of the real world and their whole ideoligy is based on fear. Just as e.g. germans in ww2 where acting out of fear, this fear comes out as violence against others.

First off al, having member visit your forum is really hard. You can’t force them and you have to make it attractive. I host a game I have called ‘Find the mad Queen’

On of my characters (Queen Ranique) goes to a place in Tyria and makes a screenshot of herself in that spot (using ctrl+shift+h to hide the UI). I post it on the forum with an explaination of the rules. Wich is very simple. The first guildmember posting a picture of his character at exact the same place wins a price (e.g. a 15 slot bag). I then advertise the game in the guildchat.

There has been a lot of talk bout this recently. Arenanet have been taking action to prevent this situation. But you get in overflow when the map is full.

The main problem is in my opinion the guildwars temple timer. The events on there are too popular even while there are bout 20 other events giving the same kind of rewards where nobody cares bout.

So if you want to make a suggestion (and if not I’m making it right now) is for Anet to make their own event timer system (maybe the announcers in the town could have this function) or help the people behind temple to develop more reliable timers. This way the focus is lesser on the few things on there and people are more spread out around the game.

The problem with all experienced mmo-players is that they expect that the game starts at lvl 80. In GW2 is is part of the game to get there. And through the downlevel system you keep on doing the same stuff when your level 80 or start an alt.

Thew HoM rewards are rewards for people who played the original game and have shown dedication there. So if you want the cat you have two options.
a: Show that dedication now
b: Live with the fact that it is a reward you’ll never get

Personally I would say that if your only desire to play it is the cat then you shouldnt play it.

If you do however understand the amount of dedication shown to get those rewards go up over time. The cat is for 9 points. wich is reasonable easy, and can be achieved in bout 40-50 hours of playtime.

This would be the way to do it:
A: Buy the game ( you only need factions and Eye of the north, but best would be all campaigns and Eotn and make an account (3/9 points awarded)
B: Start a character in Factions. Make sure it is either a ranger for primairy profession or pick ranger as secondairy later on. You can level a character in factions to level 20 in 2 hours, but expect as being new to the game to spent bout 4-5 hours.
c: When level 20, go to Kaineng center, just outside you find MOX, talk to him to obtain him (only if you have all campaigns).
d: take MOX and henchman to get you to EoTN (you get a popup now where to find the quest).
e: once in the Hall of monuments (you have 4 hero’s now) use the first tapestry at the monument of fellowship and display MOX (4/9 points).
f: go to the great temple of balthasar and talk to the high priest to recieve tournament tokens. Use the tokens to buy Zaishen Keys and sell those. This money should be enough to buy yourself a tapestry, a normal miniature and a rare miniature (and if you have money left over a unique). Make sure they are undedidcated. Use the tapestry at the monument of Devotion and put them all on display (6/9 points)
g: Create a pvp-character (ranger) equip the skill comfort animal and go to the Zaishen menagery to release the level 20 wolf in the wild.
h: bring your pve-character there, talkto the guy in the pen to spawn a level 20 wolf and use the skill charm animal to charm it.
i: bring the wolf to the HoM and put it on display in the fellowship monument (7/9 points). All time you should have put in so far is 10 hours or so max, but it gets serious now.
j: Finish the factions campaign and put the reward statue on display (9/9), this takes bout 20 more hours of gameplay.
If you missed points (not enough miniature and no Mox) you can get more points buy getting the black moa pet and putting it on display (1 point) and if still in need of more getting elite armor for your hero (you can buy the item needed for that from another player, this might need some farming or do it in in the first hero challenge in nightfall wich requires bout 5 hours of getting there and getting the item). This will be the 5th statue in fellowship and rewards another 2 points.

First of all he is not imune to melee, but it is technical.

The hit box is where his target is when he screams, even when he is not screaming. I personal prefer switching to a ranged weapon when doing him.

Considering your question I suspect you have played mmo’s in the past. So I’m going to say something very blunt and direct:

Forget everything you know!!

Any profession can do that, but there are some subtle differences.

Warrior + ranger: By far the easiest classes to play.
Pro: Smash your head on the keyboard and win (well ok not that easy, but compared to other classes).
Cons: It is hard to excell, meaning once you hit the max abillity, you don’’t find challanges to become even better.

Guardian: Very good at support and survivabillity, can do nice damage.
Pro: Although there is no healer class, this comes closest.
Cons: People thing of it as a caster healer. It is a frotnline class

Elementalist:
Pro: Huge damage – nuker.
Cons: can die in the blink of an eye, very low survivability and very hard to play (and remember there are no tanks or healers to protect you, so you have to survive on your own)

Mesmer – Necromancer – Engineer
I take these together, cause all three are summoners. There are crucial difference, but look those up on the wiki. In the end all three have a good balance between damage and survivability.

Thief: Huge damage, low survivability. They are hit and run type of gameplay.

In the end the best advise I can give is to play the game and try out different classes. Play them all till like level 15.

First off all. Do not recruit!
Where in the real world are people being recruited?? only for the army!. A guild is a group of friends, so stop recruiting but start making friends.

The way to do that is playing the game and meeting people.
I’ve been in a casual guild that has never activly recruited. We just meet now people and invite them in. It is slower, but also more durable.

Second of all. Decide what kind of guild you want to be. Want to specialise? then do the things you specialise in (WvW – get commander title and organise zergs, Dungeon’s? – be in dungeon pug’s a lot)

Third: Do not think whats wrong with others but find out whats wrong with you. A good leader/officer isn’t thinking of himself as better or more then others, but they are humble and thankfull for the support they get from their members.

What isn’t there selfish bout having fun with others?? Are you meaning you see having fun with others as a sacrifice?? otherwise it is selfish to actually want to have fun with others and desire that. Being selfish isn’t wrong at all. How you act while recieving your selfish goals is.

So stop trying to lead a guild/be an officer and start having fun yourself. You are the problem, not others. So change yourself and the rest will follow.

Get a stone from the merchant (see attached map). It sells for 0 karma from a karma merchant right there. Use the stone, enter the HoM, talk to Kimmes and let him show you your legacy. If he doesnt give you anything you haven’t linked and should file a report ticket.

1: You dont need to do anything. It’s a free game and where most games are pushing you to do one or the other thing GW is totally different.
2: Almost everything offers experience, so there are many many ways to level up. Off course concentrating on one or two things might leave you underlevel if you move on, simply cause it has to be challenging and almost everything rewards experience.
3: The reward for being a completionist (and doing everything) consist of three things
a: doing a map fully gives you bonus xp (bout 10% of a level), crafting materials, appropiate for the area (e.g. a startermap gives copper ores), a few silver, and 2 high end gear (again appropiate for the level the map was designed for).
b: a title for doing it all (all maps 100%)
c: It is needed to craft a legendary weapon. but those weapons are very high end and are only for allround players. Beside the 100% map completion you need to get two crafting professions to the end, gather loads of materials, do many many events, spend a long time in World versus World, etc. If you like a grind those weapons are nice, but its a reward for the grind, not something you have to do.

Hi Coriolanus, I had a situation once that my gf was banned without good reason. So I understand your emotions.
But please try and see it from an objective postion. This is easter. Support is limited over the weekend and even more limited with an extra day off (or thats how it is in my country). This is a result of this not being a monthly fee game. So sadly enough you have to wait over the weekend.

As you might have seen from my own previous (intended to be hars) reaction and others, the people disagree with you about what is right and wrong. Personally I’m not really that sensitive bout just swearing. I report people when they use language on purpose to shock. All daily chests are replacement for the garanteed rare (or above) item in the normal chests. There is an ultra rare change you get a precursor.

First of all I like new content and I like challenges, but this is my story. I decided to make a char Thief (The last profession I never played). I needed at level 2 the first heart. Got wiped in 2seconds by one of these things. This should be the tutorial area, where you have time to master your profession, learn the game and unlock your skills. I had to go to Queensdale to learn how to play my new profession.

I’m saying it cause GW2 is an online game and has to deal with problems the internet has. I know a few months ago there was an issue in an international router. blocking the access to the login-server for bout 20% of the player base. All Anet can do is complain at the owner of the router. Their responisbility stops however in making sure the servers are up and running (wich they where in this case) and open to be connected to from the internet. If the path to the server that is taken by your internetprovider have issues, there is nothing Anet can do bout it. It is very easy to see an ’can’t connect error’ and saying that Anet goofed up, but unless nobody can get it it is very likely not their fault.

Exotic miniatures are not that rare. I get one from every 50 boxes on average.
The karma these boxes return are less than the costs (which is 4500) so it will allow you to move some of the karma. In general 280k gets you about half the karma you can then add to another character.
As Mercury said you will also get unidenfityable objects and cores/lodestones which you can sell. 280k karma will probably yield in the neigborhood of 4-8 gold in valuables (depending on the RNG gods).

I truly understand that not being ableto log in is frustrating. but making multiple threads about it wont get it solved sooner. The mod’s are watching posts all the time and will warn the support team if they see an increase. Normally the first place to check if Anet is aware is the twitter account. They havent posted anything yet, but that doesnt mean they are un aware.

This is not hte way to express your frustration and wont get you in faster.

Ow and I have no problems at all. So it might very well be a problem with your internet provider or a global router thats down. That is something Anet can’t fix for you.

I’m sure this is not a bug. The site gw2db.com is giving it as having the signet of Nullification. They draw the info straight from the gw.dat file. So it looks like the wiki has it wrong. The wiki is a player-based maintained source of information, so there it isn’t always right. If you find something thats wrong you can always help by editing it yourself. In this case im going to do it for you.

Hi Redbear, you don’t have to go there, to check, simply hoover your mouse over a map to check. If the game is saying you you have 99% and you are missing 4 waypoints then you are missing 4 waypoints. Best is to print this list and strikeout/check/mark every map you checked:

First off al when reading this making sure you are logged into this website.
Then on the top right of this screen you see in grey Ezra.2756, under that your emailadres and unde rthat a link to My account.

You then go to the link accounts option on the left. Fill in your login-details for gw1 and your done.

It can take up to an hour for the link to become fully operational. If you are allready playing gw2 you will need to get the Eye-of the north portal stone to claim your rewards (if you didn’’t start yet you get it on character creation).

The stone can also be bought for free from a karma merchant in Lion’s Arch. Map is inlcuded in this post.

I don’t think most people exit the game using Alt+F4. But the way to do it is Esc and then leave to desktop option. The windows Alt+F4 option works great for a program as notepad or paint. but more advanced programs and specially high level video games use resources from all over windows. Alt+F4 is a windows function and the window function doesn’t work well with many games. Maybe you should complain at Microsoft before calling this game malware.

The tradepost is cross servers and cross worlds. So things can go really really quick.
It is very well possible that someone put an order out for 720 lodestones. This might happen when someone else put them on for a price way under the market price. In those situations there are people stalking the TP all the time and quickly buying them (and selling them later for a higher price).

So it is very possible both number where right.

There is no real effective way. But in my opinion the way to get the most out of it is getting loads of lost orrian jewelry box and opening them. They drop:
- exotic miniature Risen preist of Batlhasar (account bound)
- Everlasting potions (account bound)
Those are the very rare drops.

- Unidentifiable object (only use is selling them for 50 copper each, and you’ll get a load of those)
- liquid karma containers (variable sizes, account bound, so you can use them on other characters)
- obsidian shards (useless unless you want a legendary weapon)
- Tier 5 lodestones (can be sold for money)

It is NO garantue that it will be this way, but the Triforge pendant has a ascended version now. The Triforge pendant itself is rather difficult to make. but when you have it you only have to throw it in the forge with 1 ecto, 1 mystic coin, and 1 factal relic to make it ascended. This MIGHT be an indication how they are going to do it with the legendary weapon. If you are worried bout this, then you really shouldn’t transmutate it at all.

3) When it starts the big download… at any point I cancel it, then replace the newly installed gw2.dat with the one I have saved off on an external or wherever.
4) Start the game up again and let it sort itself out.

I think your reason to pick ranger are off reasons. Silvari are plant people with a deep religious feeling in nature, but in a very different way then the ranger. See the ranger as a canadian mounty and a silvari as tarzan and you’ll recognise the difference. A ranger lives in the woods, and uses it while for tarzan it is its home.

Thief is definitly more challenging to play then the ranger so looking at what you are saying bout what your looking for, I would say thief. Specially cause with the pistols, you can be very well ranged.

It means that nobody is updating it indeed. Normally those event’s are rather active.
looking through the list it seems that us servers aren’t updating very frequently (im on a eu-server). Best is to park your character in cursed shore. mostly this happens every few hours.

The merchant is only there for an amount of time after this event.

This website has a timer where you can see for your server when it is happening. You can also select another server and guest there when it is happening.

It is the same with all foes in the game. If you pull them to far from the spawning point they return and regen their health, and with a good reason. Otherwise some idiots can pull all spawns in the map to one point and ball them up together, making the map unplayable for anyone.

So your not unlucky and it’s not a nasty alien-like easter egg. Just remember when kiting any enemy to kite in circles near their spawning point instead of just away.

Hi Hylox. It is very simple mostly bad luck.

Any other reason can be in what you farm. I have had some exotic drops, but in total maybe 3-4. But I never farm in Orr and am mostly busy with leveling alts.

There is no system that makes account have better drops, it is a RNG that decides what you get (a random number generator, like a dice, but with more then 6 sides). This dice is rolled every time you kill something.

So support cant help you cause it is just bad luck im afraid.

I’ve killed the shadow behemoth for over 50 times now without ever getting the staff final rest. My friend does it once and gets it the first time.

No, the cooldown is not shared. Do keep in mind it isn’t stackable (atleast according to the wiki). So if you have quickness on you from any source, it won’t get one from another source. Given the fact that 10% on crit isn’t too much I shouldnt worry too much. Just a quesation though. I only started a thief today. Wouldn’t have quickness on a thief the least of desirable effects. The clue imo is to have skills recharge quicker. Thats how I use it on my mesmer, A thief however relies on the weapon skills on Initiative. Although im still rolling my thief, speccing on quickness sounds as counter-effective imo. Could be wrong though.

Just to give the point of view from the otherside of the fench.

Wiser is totally right. I don’t care if you are using MF-gear. I personally dont do it. The reason is that it is not as successfull as what people initially expect, and more important, I am also counting in the calculation that it is partially based on the expectation that people think they are making more money.

MF gear doubles the change to get e.g. a yellow (rare item). This sounds pretty awesome. But what I would say that it is instead of a 0.1% change a 0.2% change.
So it is not making you rich. You still have to put in a lot of effort. On top of that you are killing slower, so the normal white stuff gets in slower.

There are indeed fierce debates bout the effectiveness off magic find gear. I don’t mind if people use it unless it is in a dungeon. But I also warn to not expect too much of it.

like being said, many people see magic find as a gold making machine, or atleast have those expectations, They are not!!. You are sacrifcing good stats for better drops, but it takes you longer to kill cause you have bad stats.

Is it worth it?? Perhaps. But don’t think it will get you much richer then without it. It makes a small difference, wich also depends on your class, playstyle and personal talent.

Still use the karma boosters. You might need more karma later. They can give you over 7k per jug instead of 4k. So if opening more then twenty it is worth it. (with karma boost from a guild, karma banner boost and personal karma booster, dunno if the new bonfire stacks with them as well).

lag is the most mayor problem here, plus the effect that its a low level event. lower your settings for these things. If you have any use of minion’s use them (mesmer clones, summons, minion’s turrets). You only have to put in a one single hit to get reward. The most commonly error people make there is that you attack the body and not the head. and it goes very quick. having anything summoned helps a lot, also AoE skills helps hitting the hitable spot atleast once.
Do not trust on melee!!
