I salvaged 3 off a couple pieces just yesterday. I’m not sure how you’re seeing a drop rate change.
I still don’t understand why there needs to be 30 threads all arguing the same thing. It’s in the game, it’s going to be able to be acquired in other ways and it’s most likely here to stay. I think people need to move along. This debate is getting worse than politics.
If the devs (and i’m not putting any kind of blame on anyone) could implement only one tool to foster this sort of thing, it would be observer mode. Bottom line is if you want something like this to take off, broadcasting it with a good promoter on twitch would be the best way to do it and without that tool, it’s basically going to have to rely on a basic website to deal with it. I’m not a sPvP’er yet, so i can’t comment on the dynamics or mechanics, but i can put a site together and build ladders, but it would be really tough to promote it to the mainstream crowd without observer mode. You really need to centralize a viewer channel and get people watching.
Have you done any of the other dungeons or group events? They changed the loot drops across the board… It’s that people think fractals is where it’s at. Ascended gear (which is only accessories right now) is actually less useful in WvW than the current exotics, simple since your locked into stats and a completely useless agony based upgrade slot. I actually feel people do fractals since it’s fun! and why else, it’s new too! This too shall pass.
Because builds should matter, and builds mattering doesn’t make the game worse for anyone else. This isn’t really a matter of personal preference, unless you actually prefer going through the trouble of making a build in PVE but having the strengths of that build rendered largely inconsequential by encounter designs that emphasize environmental awareness and dodging.
And even if that were the case, the environmental awareness + dodging would still remain an absolutely crucial part of the game. Coordination wouldn’t disappear. It wouldn’t fundamentally change. It would just became deeper, more varied, with more room for interesting tactics.
Finally, it shouldn’t be necessary to point out that I must have a personal preference in order to make an argument. I have to believe in a change that’s good for the game, and I have to believe in it strongly enough to try to convince you of it.
If all we’re going to do is walk past each other at arm’s length, behind a rhetorical shield of “Well, that’s just YOUR personal preference,” then why have a debate at all? Of course it’s my personal preference. I think it’s a good one and I’d like to convince you to see it my way through reason and discussion. And if I can’t convince you, then I respect our differences nonetheless.
I’m imagining you only playing Guardian, which i think is the least profession with build diversity in the game. Even though I also find Ele and Ranger to be pretty flawed as well, they do definitely feel deeper, combat wise. There just much more options, on the fly changes, that make those professions feel deeper. It really feels that the melee oriented classes always get the shaft when it comes to depth of combat, least warriors have bows and guns… The only one possibly worse (i’ve not played it though) is engineer, you’re pretty much a turret profession and run around like a chicken on fire.
@Creslin,
It can be done. GW2 can do better. The combat system has amazing potential, but overdependence on dodging, environmental awareness and profession-agnostic tactics leads to a shallow system.
There is a pretty sizable disparity in build choices. I’ve respec’d quite a few times and found that it’s hardly that much better to my play style than my other choices prior. Which is also a reason why i don’t have any problem with the 8% bonus ascended pieces have, in the realm of things (even in PvP) it’s negligible.
I don’t find however that positional awareness and environmental abilities are a shallow system when combined with an otherwise pretty straightforward and basic skill system. I don’t tire of my skills or skill choices, especially combined with the fact that i can’t really make an uber pwn-all-content build. It got to the point in GW and even in WoW that i’d get best-in-slot gear/weapons and trollop the content to shear boredom. People complained about long boss fights in Lost Shore, but that’s nothing compared to some other games dungeons that take 4 hours to complete. There’s a balance here between epic battles and the random mundane ones, i think that’s the crux, it’s just not quite right currently. Not every fight in a game is going to be memorable, but i’ve found quite a few more here than in most MMO’s or even SPRPG’s/
I do agree with the resource removal in the game, i miss the energy pool. I actually don’t mind the jack-of-all style however. It allows me to play whatever role i want in many varied situations and i definitely don’t miss the looking for a specific role spam of past MMO’s. I think they were going for the more casual crowd here, it’s really more of an easy mode game with a sprinkle of tougher stuff here and there. They can definitely do more and i think they are heading in the right direction with fractals, the game is still very young.
I think the challenge of the CD system allows more over extending yourself in battle, to see how far you can push it, i’m really still learning this way of play. I slowly spend more time feeling out the situation than i ever did in GW (or any other MMO), either stretching a tanking role (one that holds aggro, but also avoids the big hits) or playing around with support to see how far i can go into the fray and still be able to support the group, i rarely focus on DPS, but when i do it’s a nice change of pace. I end up playing with many people that blow there CD’s straight off and end up dodge rolling and staying out of red circles, but not really contributing to the fight, only to end up being rez leeches. There’s some interesting ways to play this game, ones i really don’t think people even bother trying since it’s just easier to mitigate, face plant then zerg back, it’s not the fault of the game and i typically consider that a failure of the player. But you know, there’s a person or two back there playing it better, keeping those bosses engaged as the ones that have to rez and run back would end up raging since the boss (or even trash) has pooled all there health back. It’s sad that there are people that still don’t find combat engaging. I personally feel like FPS games are pretty boring in comparison, run out shoot a couple people, maybe toss a grenade, die and run back.
Big difference between a Guardian and a Necro, survivability wise, even with full on glass cannon gear.
Yea i agree, but with me running 12000 HPs at lvl 80, no tgh and i can still semi-tank on my pure glasscannon guardian not using my defensive abilities. A proper spec’ed/yellow geared lvl 80 necro should be able to run around in lost shore without getting one-shot-down’ed.
Not against a champ…
L80 rares are undergeared?
C’mon, my guardian in my yellow lvl 80 MF glasscannon gear can take a few hits without me using my defense skills. Are you rolling in berserker or MF gear?
In my dungeon gear i can face-tank the vet crabs and only dodge the roll-over attack.
Big difference between a Guardian and a Necro, survivability wise, even with full on glass cannon gear.
When it comes to gw (the original) hindsight is 20/20 for most people. Although i played GW for about 7 years, it’s still nothing compared to GW2.
What’s a “tri-forge?”
It might not be that bad when combined with a tri-forge, especially since you have 2 upgrade slots to boost out your main stats.
+65 Power
+65Healing
+65 Precision
+65 Toughness
+8% Critcal Damage
+65 Condition Damage
+65 Vitality
You could always get more if you specialize with other things, but you won’t get the boost’s in some of the other stats.
I got one out of the chest…
The wiki like right at the top of the page will take you to most of the answers your looking for. I think you can also type /wiki in game too.
I dunno, if you have enough mat’s and access to a jeweler 400, you can net yourself 2000 commendations in one mystic forge craft. Just saying.
I have a smallish casual guild that runs fractals and i don’t require represents. Just a bunch off people hanging out together playing various games. Anyone is welcome to join as long as they are mature and friendly.
The only thing that should change is being able to raise the level to the highest person in group, period. Nothing wrong with it the way it is beyond that.
Or they could just add a LFG chat channel or gasp a dungeon finder
We do fractal runs and go back with lower level guildies all the time. This is an MMO, play with other people. There are plenty of people around without the mentality of being uber elite. We did MK with pick up people the whole time, some were below level 20. It’s not the games fault, it’s actually the history of MMO’s that have instilled this elitist behavior over the years. Nothing about GW2 requires much extra, levels 1-5 for sure are pretty easy once you get the mechanics down and really quite a few runs we did with much lower levels than even 60. I’m sorry to see so many people with problems, but this game promotes more team play and community more so than most MMO’s i’ve ever played.
Wow. You seriously can’t complain based on the course of action they took after Halloween. Also, give them some kitten time to make stuff to put in the store. geesh…
Right this second it’s actually cheaper to craft them in the forge anyway… Just saying. I wish people did a tiny bit of research before they come on here and rant. They even posted in the patch notes everything about the chests and how the items in there drop off mobs too.
I still want to know when they plan on fixing the camera and it’s freak out everytime and object is near me. I see a ton of posts about FoV, but to be blunt, it’s the camera jankiness that annoys me more than anything else in the game.
Hi all,
I am not bickering, just asking a question. Is the Lost Shores only for level 80 characters? I just started a couple weeks ago and am only level 51, will there be anything I can participate in this event?
(If yes, please explain so I know where to go!)
Thanks!
You will be up-leveled, no worries.
Really wish they’d release some footage of that pvp map
Here ya go… http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/b/340389595
I got 2 rare skins out of the chests (12 opened in total). I may just be lucky this time around, but the drop rate seems to be much better than Halloween. I also like that they’ve added not only the chests as drops, but that you can craft more in the forge. Listening to feedback from the last fiasco, i think it’s a great improvement.
Please read this before anyone continues their rampant speculation

This will explain the dungeon in full. You get 5 relics per Fractal, 3 fractals before an increase in difficulty. Relics are used to purchase your gear, so it things look alot less random than people thought.
So assuming that a fractal takes, in the best case, 15 minutes to complete as they wrote:
Those items cost 1.350 relics.
15 min = 5 relics
1.350 / 5 = 270 (Fractals)
270 * 15 (minutes) = 4050 minutes = 67.5 hours
So 67.5 hours of nonstop fractals for one item.
We have 12 equipment slots NOT including weapons.
810 hours to get items for all 12 slots.
Let’s assume that one day is defined as 12 hours.
And we’re back to 67.5. That is 67.5 days of non-stop dungeons to get all of your equipment this way.
Truly, there’s no grinding in GW2.A day is 12 hours, really? Only if the player is unemployed. Even Kids should have 6 hours of school.
So if you sleep 8 hours, work 8 hours, you got 8 hours for GW2. And theres no other thing you do in these 8 hours. And with that, you will 101 days to get fully equiped.
If you play 6 hours a day, you will need 135 days to get fully equiped, doing only this dungeon.
135 days are more than 3 Month, so ANet is correct if they say they will not introduce new gear every 3 months, but maybe every 4 or 5 months…who knows.
This assumes the reward for level 1, we however don’t know if the reward increases at each level, perhaps level 5 gives 25 and is fairly doable. I wouldn’t assume that level 5 would actually take 5 times longer to complete either. Each 3 shard completions seem to up the level as well. So each pass would give 15 and at level 5 it would give 125 per the full 3 part run.
Different stat stacking was always possible in GW1. It’s just your character would look horrid. Insignias and inscriptions added convenience. It didn’t add a new layer on top of the old one, which is what is happening here.
Also just because other games do this doesn’t mean every game should. Those other games were designed with it in mind from the start. that’s a very big difference you are ignoring there.
I’m not ignoring anything, i’m saying that there were plenty of people outraged over gear changes in GW and that progressed throughout the game’s life. There were a TON of original mechanics that got nerfed or buffed in GW. I’m also not saying that that just because other games change their mechanics, it gives ANet a pass to do so. I’m fine with the change and as i said am sadden that people have gotten quite irate over this change. Change is good when there’s some logic behind it and it makes sense to me why they went this direction. Ultimately people will accept the change or move along. I’m quite happy they listened to the players and i’m sure they will do so here as well, insuring this future gear treadmill issue as it stands now will be forgotten. It’s not even live and people are in outrage… it’s very sad the fanbase turned so quickly, only to judge a future strategy that most likely won’t exist.
That’s enough for me..
That is a problem because there was never any statical difference between Legendary and Exotic.
They are creating it right now.
The entire gap never existed and if they would have had a true horizonal progression with only cosmetic differences then we wouldn’t even be talking about this.
Then there wouldn’t even be “tiers” and this entire thing wouldn’t even be possible.
There should have been one, i think Anet realized this mistake. Given this thread alone, not to mention across other sites, they’ve introduction a stat increase that people will automatically assume is the standard moving forward, which isn’t the case. I’m actually sorry to see this hyperbole to what it is now, but understand the change. GW1 introduced differences in stat stacking along with insignias, this isn’t a new thing to the franchise. They’ve also patched in new rune sets with the Mad King, which is a slightly more powerful bleed set. They, i’m sure will introduce more controversial stuff and people will be upset over it, it’s pretty much the norm for MMO’s. What bothers me more is that the community has taken the form of an online riot over a change that will soon be forgotten and in most cases accepted.
If the only thing you get from new sets and new gear in new content updates is a new look, what the hell is the point in doing the new content other than “Oh wow I have all these pretty USELESS sets”?
Fun. Challenge.
You know, the reason you play games. Remember those singleplayer games you bought and finished?
Where was the point in that? It sure didn’t give you stats somewhere, no?
The new gamer generation is so pathetic, always demanding rewards and seeing those as the only important thing. Crack addicts, nothing more. No wonder so many older players are so annoyed about this change.
So now I’m equated to a crack addict because I like the idea of having a new tier of equipment with a major content release? Even though they’ve mentioned their intentions of a “legendary” armor? Go take a nap grandpa.
And by the way I’m one of those “older gamers”; kitten.
I’m also an older gamer… I however am not tossing my PC out the window or burning copies of guild wars 2. I’ve seen this outrage in a million posts over the course of all sorts of games, including threads 100 pages long about how ANet needs to release info (pre-launch) or people are going to start losing interest. I’m guessing here that the majority of players that are pissed off are the younger crowds. Regardless what age group it is, it’s really a great deal of speculation about armors (so far they’ve only shown accessories) and critique of a manifesto that was presented to show intent. Why not try it before you toss all your cookies on the floor and stomp on em.
The only thing that makes it mandatory is that (from what we have heard) the new gear type will ONLY be available via the dungeon, and that gear type is STATISTICALLY SUPERIOR to exotics.
Therefore, if you want to have the best gear for WvW…you gotta run the fractals.
Baseless assumption is baseless. You have no idea if this is even the case or not. Ascended gear, for all you know, might be a random WvW drop. Or otherwise attainable in WvW for badges…
This is a direct quote from their blog post…
Players will be able to acquire Ascended Rings in the Fractals of the Mists dungeon, and Ascended items worn on the back can be acquired through special Mystic Forge recipes.
I don’t see this saying it can’t be acquired in WvW. Even PvP has access to the forge. For all you know you might just be able to walk into the dungeon and buy the ring for 1g or karma. There is a ton of random assumptions going on and very little logical based on facts conclusions being made.

I feel sorry for people like munkiman. These were the people that had the rug pulled from under them. Still they try though.
The sad thing is, is that NCsoft knew these people would do exactly what they are doing now.
Ha, don’t feel sorry for me, i’m sure i’ll be logged in enjoying the new content. I’m not raging.

It’s really not hardly as drastic as most of the people posting are making it out to be. It’s something new and i’d rather see them try new stuff than just stick to the same ole.
It’s not new though. It’s the same old gear grind hamster wheel. The same one a LOT of us were trying to avoid in our MMO gaming.
It’s really not, actually. Releasing a new tier of gear isn’t being released to address much else beyond this dungeon content affect “agony”. The point increase is so minimal and falls in line with the people wanting the slight stat increase to legendaries. But they weren’t going to just let that stat increase go to the limited few that acquire legendaries. It’s a two fold solution, one in which i think is a great, well-thought out compromise.
100 pages, mostly against this change.
Well, this is how many people there were who were not complaining about the state of the game. I suppose this is what happens when you listen to the loud whiners without polling the actual player base ;-)
Actually from the past posts, this isn’t how i’ve interpreted the feedback. And why are the people that feel as though they have legitimate issues with the game fall into the category of whiners?
This change covers 2 basic complaints that have been the crux of posts on this forum and others. It deals with legendaries not feeling as if they are legendary and it adds “end game” which is something there are even more threads on than praise. People that were happy with the game weren’t on here voicing opinions, they were playing or otherwise engaged. I honestly cannot fathom the amount of turmoil this has caused and the lack of interpretation that these changes address. This will all settle in in time and people will actually figure out they are ok with the change. It’s really not hardly as drastic as most of the people posting are making it out to be. It’s something new and i’d rather see them try new stuff than just stick to the same ole.
We need a word from an ArenaNet dev on this topic. We need some explanation as to their thoughts with Ascended gear and their future goals. We need clarification on this topic. You have an almost 100 page thread and we’re not making any progress until ArenaNet engages with us in this conversation. Please.
Lol, they are too afraid to answer since they clearly want to turn GW2 into a gear grind game. Even if they annonced that like a freaking snake.
They are probably internally assessing this as we speak. They did not anticipate this volume of negative reaction to it. They had tunnel vision this whole time, listening to all the “Why isnt this like WoW? I quit” threads and thinking that its how we all felt. They’re dead wrong and went too far and too fast in the wrong direction. Now they’re trying to figure out how to backtrack on it or have their PR guys put a spin on it that will somehow calm us all down. But there’s no color of paint you can apply to a steaming pile of crap that turns it into anything other than a steaming pile of crap.
There wasn’t that many “this isn’t like WoW threads” there was a lot of “why legendaries aren’t very legendary” threads though that turned into go play WoW threads. This is their solution to that along with the ad nuseum amount of threads about “where’s the end game”. I’m sorry people are having such a problem with this, but i’m pretty glad they have been listening. This is why i think they won’t be creeping gear over the years to come.
After reviewing my feelings on this, i’m pretty much good with this move. I played diablo 3 for many months and that had no where near the content. I honestly think they won’t turn this into a long standing treadmill. There are a bunch of passionate posts here, but i really feel like most of them are unfounded or overly concerned. I played GW since beta and a lot of those passionate people even back then would go nut’s over changes.
I won’t be defending ANet’s decision, but rather to say that this was a much needed thing. Yes, they can certainly travel down the path of a gear treadmill if they continue this trend, but i highly doubt they will. It just feels right now it’s that little extra polish the end game really needed.
I’m sorry but i simply can’t see how.
The whole game was balances (where it was balanced…) with Exotic gear stats in mind, exotic was meant to be the top tier, always.
How is adding a new tier for no-life farmers who didn’t read game description before they bought it adding polish to the game?
Balanced to exotics? Hardly, most of the game (including dungeons) can be done in blues. Even in WvW your not at much disadvantage running green gear, it’s such a zerg right now. Also, you don’t have to be a no life farmer to have an exotic set, there are 2 pretty tried and true ways to get them without farming. I’m pretty sure acquiring basic ascended types will be the same deal. From what i can tell by reading that blog post, it seems as though there will be a rarity level to ascended stuff as well. I also don’t doubt they will either not touch PvP gear or just bring all that gear up to stat, eliminating any issue there at all. There is also the fact that those that spent time farming for dungeon gear can transmute the look onto ascended gear stats, which basically makes all their work for gear hardly un-worthwhile with the intro of this new type.
I won’t be defending ANet’s decision, but rather to say that this was a much needed thing. Yes, they can certainly travel down the path of a gear treadmill if they continue this trend, but i highly doubt they will. It just feels right now it’s that little extra polish the end game really needed.
I believe I read somewhere that the gear will only be better within the dungeon itself and function as a normal piece of gear outside of the dungeon. (if I can find the post I will edit this)
That’s even worse. LFG for dungeon, must have ascended armor…
How’s that worse? That’s just like Prophecies endgame. Or Factions (must be Weh no Suh) or NF (must have Lightbringer R3 minimum).
That’s a bit different though.
Weh no Su was awarded after completing a certain mission in the campaign. It was also required because it allowed you to enter certain locations that would not be accessible.
You can solo grind for Lightbringer. Also, I may be wrong since I haven’t done that campaign in a long time but I believe that you get R3 by just simply finishing the campaign.
Either way, it’s not the same as requiring certain gear participate in an instance.
DOA pretty much all groups required R10 LB for groups at a certain point. It was basically the same as having armor/weapon boosters for specific bad guys. It took a good long while to get also, much longer than infusion against Mursaat…
This should pretty much close the thread. Did you really expect, in all realness, no change in gear stats, ever?
Well considering that’s what ANet promised, yes.
They also promised an end-game experience throughout the entire gameplay, well?
That would be a frame of mind thing. They would often be wrong if a person doesn’t feel that way ever. Anyone can say anything about gameplay experiences (or any experience) and be completely wrong to another.
Ever since I read this in the morning, I havent logged in. I just found it difficult to log in knowing that any gear I obtain on my main might be replaced in a few days.
Going to log in now, on my alts I’d imagine, but I haven’t had the urge to log in and obtain some dungeon gear today just because of this.
You play an MMO. MMO’s are about progression and additions. Stuff will change. If you haven’t figured this out by now, then I don’t think MMO’s are the type of game for you.
Not this MMO. Not verticle progression. If I wanted a gear treadmill I’ll do it via raiding. Not by simple fact of purchasing gear.
With that logic, why have gear at all?
This game is too big to not have something to do at level 80. Reward your level 80’s eventually. Playing barbie will only go so far.
Reward with what? Bigger numbers? Or making the game slightly easier to play?
Proponents of stat progression sure love throwing out the word “rewards” without explaining their meaning. If the reward is the ability to access certain content because you have gear that’s better than what others have, that means precisely the kind of elitism and gear grind that would put a lot of players off GW2, because that’s not the game they bought.
What elitism, though?
The gear in this game is way to easy to get to brag about. The new stuff? I will bet it’s the same thing!
All this is is to give us level 80’s something to do other than playing dress up. You people who like to play dress up? You’ll benefit, as you will run the dungeon anyway to get the skins/set you want.
If this required mass amounts of time to get the gear/level 80…I would get your argument. But…it doesn’t hold water in this game at all. Maybe for a legendary, but they don’t have stat boosts. Sooo, you can die looking pretty in WvW is about what that amounts to.
Grinding for skins/sets = not a grind is what I’m getting in this thread. 100’s of dungeon runs.
Doing just enough to get your upgrades is a grind, even though you are doing to get the skins/set…is a grind.
This doesn’t make sense to me at all.
The elitism of your ascend gear is not good enough you have rank 3 you need rank 4 to join our pug.
Anet is going to segregate the comunity in the haves and have nots with this move. The same problem existed in GW1 if you didn’t have high enough PvP rank you would have difficulty getting into groups.
Any content that isn’t accessible to all due to not having proper gear is bad.
People are going to be elitist pricks regardless. Mad King dungeon full of teams saying they would only take real level 80’s.
^ If you are an Ele or a ranger, firing AoE at a zerg with just one guardian able to mass-spam retaliation is suicide. That skill suggestion would kill you faster than you can heal.
I was thinking more along the lines of a weapon, like siege that can scatter a zerg. I really don’t have a good answer, just thinking out loud.
I’m hoping they add a way to handle zergs better, something AoE maybe that does more damage based on the number of enemies in it’s coverage would help. Also the not being able to rez defeated would be a major improvement, accept in the jumping puzzles, which would just be annoying.
Thanks for the FYI Jason.
I would like to address the fact that there is little to no info that i could find that triggers this event. It’s fine if it’s a secret, sure thing, but if it’s a typically bugged event might mean that is why it’s not really know how it triggers. Speaking to that fact that many of the other event chain triggers for the other dragons are pretty prevalent. I know the only time i got to fight him was in BWE, since it rarely spawned after release that i had a chance to notice.
Id like to know what is going to be added. What Events will there be and what rewards (detailed on this, pics and all) will there be for completing them. They dont have to tell where the event will be or how to complete it (that way the can still have their precious secrets to build hype with). But I want to know what things I want to participate in so I can plan my limited gaming time as wisly as possible.
Again using the Halloween event as an example. If my GF hadnt wanted to do the scavenger hunt I would have spent all my time gathering candy corn, and getting crafting mats because I thought the scavenger hunt sounded dumb. But when I found out there was a cool book to get out of it, my outlook on the scavenger hunt rapidly changed. But did Anet tell anybody about it. Hell no. Thats a Big issue in my world. It wouldnt have injured their precious hype one single iota to disclose what rewards there would be for finishing the events.
For this I would say it’s pretty much always down to the players and as a matter of fact guildwars2guru.com has info almost as soon as the patch releases, given players have time to find everything and post it. I doubt they will be communicating all the details of exactly what they put in game, for many mmoer’s that’s part of the fun.
I’ve posted this before but http://www.twitch.tv/mmorpgcom/b/337726366
30 minute interview about future plans and content updates.
What exact kind of transparency are you looking for? Many times they aren’t even sure a feature is going to make it in the game, even while they are working on it. I don’t call that being secretive i call it not giving out incorrect info.
Guild Wars (the original) did a very good job of communicating changes, updates, etc. But it took time, they are actively working on stuff and have said they are more interested in giving out the info at a better pace.
I’m not defending them, but there’s actually all sorts of info they’ve released, both here and across the web.
Some healing skills do. For instance the guardians downed #3 is a healing skill that affects them (and they are obviously downed) as well as anyone else near them.
Im not sure if ele skills do. But I believe i’ve seen a ranger, and even a thief somehow heal me besides the typical revive.
Not sure about the thief, but rangers pets can revive too.
Whole discussion on this here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/The-multi-guild-system-why-guilds-are-pointless/page/1
I have to agree with all of this… The base health of dungeon mobs are far more than that of PVP players health pools, you simply can’t compare the 2. Condition builds now for PVE are uber weak in comparison to the health pools of most of even the trash mobs. Many hit so hard that even a high toughness vitality guardian can only take a few hits, so DOT is a pretty much required mechanic to have. I think overall PVE DOT should increase. PVP (although i don’t play much) seems fine based on watching streams.
