The 10 recipe has a much higher return but also has a much higher risk involved. Since they’re basically the same thing, you’re better off using the 1 recipe to mitigate risk.
It sure as hell gonna be annoying for me. The event will start at 3am for me, and it’s now 12:45am. idk if i’ll just stay awake or take a short nap first x.x
Something helpful will be say “at this point, you may wanna jump from this place as if you do it from anywhere nearer, you’re gonna fall” or “it is important to not stop for anything, but at this point, it is ok to stop a bit just to get your footing right” etc. :P
Best way to check for sure is to equip a jewel and unequip and see thr difference.
Im a cool engineer and i use a pistol :o
If you wanted to craft tailoring, you should’ve salvaged every light armor you saw that you could not use/didn’t use afterwards. I did that with two characters at and have amassed around 150 jute scraps. (not enough to level both tailoring and armorsmith, but close anyways).
Err… well.. lots of factors why prices are going up/down.. but yea, you can lvl up crafting on your alts :P goodluck to your legendary journey
yep as the gifts are account-bound. however, bloodstone shard is soulbound. and by catalyst weapon you probably mean precursor, and they can only be made by combining 4 rare/exotic weaps in TP (with a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly low chance, mind you), or buying it in TP.
afaik openworld mobs. There are some dungeons that drop specific lodestones you can get in the chests after killing the boss. I’m not sure for others but TA gives you Onyx core/lodestone. You can check the gw2guru legendary weapon guide for those. (but they’re only for core/lodestone, idk honestly where you can get shards/slivers).
you get them from… mobs? o.o You generally get the shard/sliver/core/lodestone from the mob that shares a similar type-ish with that like molten lodestone you get from ember or destroyer lodestone from destroyer mobs, corrupted lodestone from risen (iirc), etc.
I think 180 is ok. Or 120. But I’d like it to be a special lodestone that is soulbound/accountbound. Right now there’s nothing you can make money out of dungeons, and I’d like it to remain as such. (I mean you can’t sell your tokens, armor, gear, even rune)
they’re quite rare, if youw ant you’re better of buying them in TP. But if you’re doing that, you’re better off buying the rune itself :|
erm… so what about WvW? o.o
oh and about your suggestion, I can think of a number of problems:
1.) There are 1000000x guilds and compared to the map, the number of guild is far more than the number of available maps, thus, there wouldn’t be enough for everyone. (which, you may say, is ok since guilds are meant to fight for their resources.) But…
2.) It is highly unfair for guilds who are not active in pvp that they be denied resources from the game. With the heavy emphasis of GW2 on cooperative pve-world, this goes counter to that philosophy. and…
3.) Major reaaaaly big guilds (guilds with an ave of 100-400+ members active at any given time) will hold a monopoly over those areas. Since you tied in resources, the only way to beat them is to join them, and thus, guilds won’t really touch each other, and your idea of “big guilds fighting each other” will not materialize since both/all those guilds will realize is it is far more profitable to own and defend an area than to invade another guild’s area. Plus, this divides the server and cause inter-server bickering which eventually will lead to less attendance in WvW. Solo players are going to be the worst-off, since they have no guild and will virtually have no way of getting those resources/WP/events.
In essence, your suggestion shoeboxes people into playing in a particular playstyle, whether they like it or not, just to remain competitive or even have the opportunity to explore the world. It also invalidates the purpose of WvW. I think you’d rather make suggestions to WvW as it keeps people who want an open-world pvp and people who want a purely pve experience.
I hope I have been as constructive as possible, and not have replied in a negative manner.
Putting 40 exotic level 80 Staffs into the Mystic Forge and guess what happened?
in Crafting

you know, for people saying getting a legendary shouldn’t be about RNG, in essence it could not be.
You spending 100g on stuff and gambling it on Mystic Forge = RNG effect
You saving up that 100g, using the money to play TP, and earn another 200g+ to buy the bifrost on TP = hard work + time + effort. No mess no fuzz. And it seems prices are stabilizing at this price range (which, while it seems ridiculous, there’s no other way to get it without feeling cheated by a casino). Sure it takes longer, but it certainly removes the RNG element of your legendary-making process, thereby supposedly satisfying your initial requirements.
If people can farm 100g just to gamble it away, I find no reason they can’t farm another 200g. Oh wait, I can, it’s because they are either a.) a bit more impatient than initially thought oneself to be or b.) feel that the price of the precursor is supposedly at 100g and spending 100g entitles him to a precursor.
Also, I heard some people say divinity rune is actually a bit useless =/
Just in case anyone wants to know, I’ve calculated the price based on this post and based on gw2spidy, total cost of arachnophobia (coz it’s the only one that looks cool imo) is around 167-170g.
Also, how do you get 80 p.tots a day? o.O I know they removed most suspicious locations in LA but you can still get the one from the jumping a day * 5 so that’s 25 bags alone. where do you get the others?
Another question, does anyone know if arachnophobia shoots out spiders with webbing? or, it just looks that, and shoots no particle effects or etc? I know you’d tell me to go to youtube, but I’m in China and youtube is blocked. Would def appreciate any replies :P
But… what about the medal in the opening screen about “equipped a legendary weapon” thing? :O Will there be a UI change and they’ll add a “equipped a legendary armor set” part? o.O
I believe it’s merely a typo bug, as all of those stuff will have toughness as primary and power/prec as secondary. I will double check when I log-in but I’ve been working under those assumptions on the basis that my armor toughness can get up to 1.9k (so around 3k armor total) whereas both my power and prec are on the same level.
only for charr?
time to make a charr then
Btw, is it exactly the same skin?
I’d rather have new content (and a new class!
) than a higher level cap. It does absolutely nothing for me, ruins all my armors and weapons (hell even legendaries), and effectively ruins the lvl 80 content right now.
if for anything, bots are causing prices of mats to be low o.o
you shouldn’t run an MF set in a dungeon :| Imo, its a very selfish way of running dungeons, and you should only do it if you’re very very familiar with it in that you can contribute (and not die) just as much when running it in your other non-MF gear.
While MF can be used in dungeons, I’d like to think it wasn’t designed that way. I think it’s designed to be used in open world pve, in dynamic events, etc etc where it’s all on you. Whereas dungeons, you really have to work as a team. So get some tough/vit/power/prec/condi or w/e gear and run your TA, and hopefully you’ll die less.
it does?? Unfair!
my flamethrower (which, you know, shoots flame) does nothing =/
I think the costs of the wp are there to deter you from just popping in and out willy nilly. you have to remember one of their objectives or something is to get the player to enjoy his environment. The presence of wp costs limits the player’s ability to jump in and out and miss out on all the content that he can get along the way when walking (DE, hearts, gathering nodes, etc). i’m thinking if they had their own way, there’d only be 1 WP in every map, but ofc this will infuriate and inconvenience players alot.
IMO, it only becomes expensive when you port willy-nilly even within a map. WP costs merely serve as a way for you to think first before porting, thinking of the most effective route for your goal for the day.
just a note, those flaming swords do nothing to illuminate in dark rooms (like jumping puzzles).
I have around 350+. Some people have 660+ :O
just do what you want to, mate. If you feel like playing, play some more. If you don’t, relax and take a break.
Fundamentally, i think the most important part is you having FUN. When it stops being fun, stop. :P
people will all have different perspectives towards anything, so while this game may be for some people, this game might not be as well. For example, I tried playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion (before skyrim went out) mainly due to the reviews and its top rating. Played for 10 minutes, then uninstalled the game. Am I doing something wrong? Nope, just clearly the game wasn’t meant for me.
it was a charr? :O
I hope not :/ im relying on those jugs and doing dungeons to get my lrgendary
planning to save up around 100 jugs :0
This isn’t related to the halloween thing but i honestly love the karma reward for dungeons and the karma jugs
oh if it’s 10 jugs only, then around 3 months + a few days =P and yep, doing alts are a good way to get dailies.
Theoretically, if you only do the dailies and monthlies, you only need to spend around 4 months-ish of doing those to get your legendary stuff. Not including the actual DE events you’ll do, the huge karma you’ll gain from doing explo, and the occassional karma train (just to spice things up). Personally, i have 200k karma already, and would probably need only 2-3 months more to get my legendary. plenty of time to farm up around 400g-ish for my legendary. :P (this is using the +karma booster ofc)
wait i forgot how much jugs do you get for monthlies again?
You can totally get the entire’s game worth of experience. You just won’t look as cool. If that’s bothering you, then you can always buy gems to convert to gold. But if you are a casual player as you said you are, those things shouldn’t bother you at all. The grind past top-tier armors are merely cosmetic and will in no way make you better or worse in your gameplay experience than an ugly-looking armor set. Hell, make an asura, as tiny as you can, and you won’t have to bother looking at ugly armor/weapon as they’re too small to see anyway.
(In retrospect, I shouldn’t have mained an asura. quip is gonna look so tiny x.x)
I actually want the dreamer effect on quip. But, meh. I originally wanted to get flameseeker but it’s so expensive (comparatively) and the halloween skin seemed much cooler. =P
maybe they’ll give more effects for the legendaries (or godforbid they release a “new” set of legendaries :|) in the future? It’s free to hope
Depends. The bigger the discrepancy, the more likely I will just match to lowest. But if it’s relatively small, or the quantity is few, I can fill up the buy orders.
nerf… a costume?? seriously? o_O This is… :|
Imo do the perma death thing on another of yout alts, not your main, just so yoi fitst grt a feel of how to play the game
I actually laughed at some of them
)
The book backpack is totally kitten
) im gonna forget abt those stuff and just buy the skins i want on tp, much cheaper imo
It’s probably in response to those people who have gotten their legendaries within a month or two of the game (when those things are supposedly or ideally acquired at a much later part of the game).
“Oh so you made your legendary within a month, eh? Here’s a new challenge for you!”
All these things are just, imo, gold/mat sink made to decrease the value of gold and increase the value of items, maybe to combat botters? o.o but then it wouldn’t really make any sense then :|
Actually, it’s only very unforgiving at the beginning. Towards the end, it’s rather forgiving especially when you get to your lvl 80 exotic armors. What it does in the first few levels is to give you an idea on the pacing of combat, and that I think is very important especially for new players. Over time, through own trial-and-error and looking at forums, you’ll learn better to dodge (very important), which combination of skills to use as well as combo fields, and which set of skills/spells go together to form a desired effect in the most efficient way possible.
Also, don’t be annoyed or fed up whenever you die. It is to be expected of any class (even guardians and warriors, especially to new players) to down or to die as it teaches you a valuable lesson in surviving. It’s also forgiving in this aspect in that the only detriments you’ll get are either temporary lower health (which lasts only a minute or so), and armor repairs (which, at lower levels, is virtually nothing). Other games would have you drop a rare armor/item, lose exp (omg i hate rf online coz of this), or have some debuff which you’ll need some time to shake off. Getting downed is also something you’ll have to learn to be most effective, as even the best of dungeon runs will have you going into the downed state.
The reason I spent alot of time explaining about dying and being downed is that alot of new players seem to be rather disuaded into continuing the game as they constantly die. This actually happens to the best of us and eventually, we learn how not to die anymore (and even then, you’ll see most level 80s with full exotic gear dying alot as well). That and mages tend to die alot esp in the early levels due to their soft tissue-like armor.
(mesmer and ele. haven’t tried a necro yet)
If you’re in Tarnished Coast, you may send me a message (/w Boq Clumsyhands) if you want more info about where to go and what to do :P
what I wanna know now is if there’s a limit to the maximum jugs you can get. Ideally, I wanna collect as much jugs as possible and just use a karma booster one time to get more out of it (presumably, to help me with my legendary stuff).
because it’s easier to make? And sometimes a legendary isn’t their cup of tea. Like right now, I wish I bought the skin of the shield when it was still pretty cheap. Now it’s astronomical and I doubt it’ll go down any time soon, if at all. Guess I’ll go back on my long track for a legendary shield then =/
+1 to that as well. Not only it makes earning karma such a variety, it’s also fun (well, fun for me. dungeons always are fun for me
) I still might have to hit up the CS karma train once in a while, but certainly that won’t be the only way for me to earn karma. 800k karma to go! (or 300k karma to buy those obsidian shards for mystic clover)
sorry for being a pain, but youtube is blocked in my country (china -.-) so my only question is, does it have that black flame thing aura?
you can also warp to LA from your home city.
question for the shield. Is there like a black flame aura when drawing the shield? Also, is the flame inside the shield static or burning?
where can you trade those candy corn for bags?
there might be swords i’d expect. but no one knows where you can get the recipe too
