oh ok good good.
I’m glad coz I plan to invest alot on those unique weapons, and i’m afraid someone will just get them randomly off the MF.
get a dice and just roll it, assigning a class for a number. it’s just that there are 8 classes and only 6 sides to a die so, be creative :P
@nilla
yes by limited they only have 1 range weapon, scepter. It’s not too bad though, some classes have it worse (engineers, only 3 weapons and all range (except shield) :|)
I thought it just drops off mobs. or a random outcome from putting 4 rifles in MF. Also I think it costs around 25g in MF, so you could’ve just saved up those gold stuff and buy it on TP. =(
I’m more impressed with the fact that it is a precursor that he can actually use! :O
I think it’s ok because there are some instances where it will be much profitable (or even required) to be ranged or melee (say TA explo the wurm boss. if you go melee, it’ll be much much better, or for AC story versus ranger nente where range is pretty much where it’s at).
Where are you from? I mean what country?
hmmm… i see. I hope the price stabilizes at 15s /-, I don’t want to see it spike back up to 22s
might need like 500 ectos.
also, anyone knows anything about my second question? :P
Actually, for an RP server, TC is doing pretty good. I like the community as well, everyone is generally helpful and less of a kitten, people are more polite, despite the trolls in LA. Some of my guildmates don’t like to pug dungeons, but for me, pugging them has been wonderful on TC. The veteran dungeon-ers generally give out tips and help newbies into dungeons, and i’ve never seen anyone discriminate against a class or a level (say, a lvl 35 necro wants to go for ac explo), even if admittedly, things will run a bit smoother if that lvl 35 is lvl 80 in full exo gear. Also people often say “plinx up” usually to help people farm in cursed shore, although I tend to stay away there anymore as farming is getting harder (harder to tag mobs. and i’m not even gunning for a legendary, i think). you may also /w me, i’m always looking for more cool people to chat/do dungeons with on the server :P (but I mostly do ac/cm at the moment. :P)
i only heard those things at TA where things branch into other parts. but for ac, i don’t understand the need for that as you’re presented with all 3 options at the start.
ATTENTION: 36,000 Mithril Ore + 18,000 Elder Logs +22,500 Large Fang = 1,500 Level 80 RARE Greatswords........ + Mystic Forge = ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
in Crafting
Posted by: penatbater.4710
isn’t that a dawn there on the last pic? or does dawn share a tooltip with a diff weapon? also, got anything interesting (apart from what you wanted ofc :c)
I’m not necessarily gunning for a precursor. I just want to change my mats into stuff that can be used to get ectos. I’m trying out for those other rare Mystic forge recipe weapons that uses eldritch scrolls and a huge amount of ectos (250) so I wanna know which crafting I should level up. Or is it still gonna be cheaper to just buy the items off TP and salvage them?
Also, another impt question: Are the items made via that method (like 1 scroll x mystic coins, alot of rare mat A and rare mat B, like those in the MF recipe in wiki) found by combining weapons as well? Like, is Jormag’s breath also found by combining 4 swords in MF?
Have you guys checked your ping recently? I just did and I find myself at a high 190ms average. (I just assumed you measure ping in miliseconds as well) Is there any way to change/fix this or is this mostly based on your ISP/location/gw2’s servers?
Btw in case you wanna know how to do this:
Open Task Manager
Go to Performance
Go to Resource Monitor
You can see at the Network tab something like Gw2.exe….. then the IP address. There are usually 2 of them (idk why. maybe 1 for log-in server 1 for game server)
Then at command prompt, just type ‘ping’ (without the ’’) followed by the ip address, like
ping 64.xxx.xxx.xxx something and it should return to you your ping.
On a side note: WTB DEDICATED OCEANIC/ASIA SERVERS :s
Can’t you just buy the chosen off tp? o.O
nooooooooo i hope it doesn’t bug out when I try to do it later. Then again, I hope my internet connection holds out. :|
*64, just in case people get confused.
and yes they always underbid in hopes an idiot will sell it for that much.
Imo toughness. Vit only makes you be able to take more hits, but the problem is unless your healing is high as well, you can’t really offset the damage you take compared to toughness (then ofc, you die less from conditions, but take alot from normal hits).
Imo it’s not really the model of the weapon, sometimes people are looking for things that have a nice particle effect, and you can’t see them apart from seeing them with your own eyes.
I was also surprised by the sudden large-ness of wood required at that tier. but, well, wood is easy enough to get. wood and ore as you can always salvage stuff. scraps are still gonna be a diff matter altogether tho as there’s only 1 way to acquire them. (well, technically, you can get them off bags, but point is they’re mob drop not resource node)
Armor with particle effects. Now THAT will be the shiznits =P You’d have like a black smokey particle effect at day, and a white ghostly glowing effect at night! Eternal Armor!
to people complaining about bots: one step at a time. When we were being flooded by gold spammers, day in and day out we’d complain on the forum. but eventually, they stopped. Granted bots have a larger impact on the economy, I believe eventually they’ll dwindle down in numbers… especially if people STOP buying gold from them, getting their services, blah blah.
hmm…. it seems the karma part isn’t the biggest hurdle to making legendaries. o_O
wait, there’s no footprint effect??

well imo it doesn’t really matter so much, but I look at it in terms of armor type. I would really be glad if there’s another heavy-armor user in the group as I usually go off-tank/support with condi as an engineer. i’m pretty sure one can do it as all light armor, but survivability will be questioned. It’s not that i’m saying heavy-armor classes are better, but with higher toughness, they’re usually more forgiving for over-aggro/boss fights/etc.
sometimes, i’m quite happy to see fellow engineers in ac, as thumper turret can be a boss in protecting hodgins/the two thingies.
because people will start grinding skill points to be better when anet clearly wanted everyone on an almost equal ground stat-wise in end-game. In effect, you’d have an imbalance of lvl 80 players, and players who are gunning for a legendary are left at a disadvantage when their only “upgrade” is cosmetics only, but your upgrade is a better character.
loot i think. you get the loot at the same level of the mobs.
maybe it’s their strat to push for more people going warrior/guardian/mesmer/ranger?
I’m using knight set!
which part is incorrect? o.O they seem correct to me
EDIT: i found a bug, i think. I tried putting all soldier for armor, but when I clicked Knight, power and toughness went up, when it’s supposed to be power goes down but toughness goes up.
(edited by penatbater.4710)
I’m pretty sure it’ll be just as hard or even harder to obtain a full legendary set, if it indeed exists.
Yes. I think. Maybe when everybody and their grandmother is wearing a twilight/sunrise, you’d probably want some variety :p
What abt gift of metal? Coz im planning on using an alt for armorsmithing
how much is a decent rate of karma gain per hour? Or rather, how much karma do you guys get per hour?
I know they changed many items into account bound, but I wanna know if some items remained soulbound, like gift of X and Y. I checked the guides but I can’t seem to get info about them.
sad to say, i think that’s the best way to get it to 400. I make my own jewelries and made a few more unnecessary discoveries and reached 392/3, but i still had to make 2 rare jewelries
The other guy’s name is… kitten o.o
Dungeons become easy when you realize what kind of strat needs to be done. Also, dont feel bad for wiping the first few times. Get one or two tough chars (i hope u all arent glass cannons, if so that may be the first mistake). If you’re talking abt trash mobs, well, an ugly suggestion would be to get full exotics first. It becomes, imo, significantly easier and more forgiving esp if all of u are full exotic gear. Plus its notso hard to farm for mats/the crafted ones.
Edit: before i get flamed, of course i agree gear and level isnt a requirement to do dungeons, nor is it the most significant factor, but every little bit helps, and it, as ive said, makes fights a bit more forgiving.
(edited by penatbater.4710)
the only reason I wanna do it so i won’t have to ask what armor/weapon he is using. but it will be heavily abused by players who will look down on players with lesser gear.
it would also give players the ability to “manipulate” the market as some more-skilled/more-organized players can go for the harder dungeons and set prices at a much higher rate than others.
i give a thumbs down, like what rizzy said, dungeon tokens are rewards for YOU, for the effort YOU did into that dungeon, not what some other person did.
Guildwars 2 is in danger if arenanet doesn't act on their endgame while they still can

it’s classic and it works… for some people, not for all, sadly. They explicitly said their endgame is a horizontal not vertical progression, so I’m dumbfounded as to why people are even asking such from a game that from the get-go, said it didn’t wanna be like those games.
bank tab limit? what do you mean? like the number of expansions in bank you can do?
they should make it like a nyan cat
armored scales really drop really really low, hence their price. (bloods as well, though i think i have gotten more bloods/totems/etc than actual armored scale loot). Best way to do it imo is to transmute large scales into armored scales
50 large scales
1 armored scale
5 pile of crystalline dust
5 philosophers stone (bought from miyami at 10 stones for 1 skill point)
anything above a yield of 6 is profit. a yield of 5/6 is a loss. (according to my last calculations)
tbh i don’t know what role i’m playing in dungeons. maybe its control. im an engineer built as a tank (hah!) so i would usually rush in start spamming bombs and run like a headless chicken because putting so much toughness on medium armor is not a good tank.
but occassionally, i would be partied in a group with a dedicated support guy who will occassionally, heal me/us for just about 2k of health (which is like half compared to my self heal, and i’m guessing that’s his heal spell as well) or removing conditions on me or applying conditions on mobs like weakness (this condi is sooooo underrated) that’ll help me “control” the flow of the fight.
but one thing is that you shouldn’t be a pure support build, and you should always always incorporate some dmg in your skill roster. if you’re scared about loosing looting rights, put on a heavy aoe-dmg/support build (as im sure almost all class will have access to an aoe or two) and use it to tag mobs so you can loot them later on once they’re dead.
imo, control and support are two things that should always be done alongside damage, and vice versa where damage should never just be damage but will have a fraction of support/control into them. this way, you never really rely on other chars so much as you rely on yourself.
i was under the impression that gw2 didn’t need to run on dx. or im mistaken o.o
some days, i wish there was a quicker way to find members instead of hopping from LA and ascalon spamming map chat. however, some days, i find it more fun esp when the people you find are cool people. also, the pre-dungeon talk is pretty nice :P (hey what’s up, have you guys done this before, oh no worries its ok i can guide you, omg that’s a cool looking sword where did you get it, how has the power/prec/tough stat working out for a necro/etc/etc)
one step at a time guys.
the problem is different people have different opinions on what is “fun”. I would go for systems first over the individual. One thing I know about the human condition is given enough time and repetition, they can get used to things, and seeing as gw2 is essentially a “new” system of doing MMORPGs, I think we just have to give them a bit more time and be patient.
I think it’s as intended, and some armor models would have fewer dye options than others. Usually with my pants, I get 2. but in this emblazoned armor (exotic medium lvl 80 armor), i only have 1. so i guess its a design thing.
what goal? also i heard if you don’t wanna pvp in wvw its ok, just do the jumping puzzles. but ofc that’s a diff matter too coz you might see campers in the jumping puzzle areas
so.. what if you have the sword and shield, which footprint will u get? o.O
