ohh ic. Well I’m in bomb most of the time but somehow I found it lackluster. Maybe I’m being too reliant on elixer B and elixer S. Elixer H at 25% is afaik a non-changeable buff/trait/thingy. Condi removal for me is very very important. I’m almost allergic to conditions)

Maybe i’ll try more using healing turret and not rely so much on elixers. I’ll put that trait as well and see how much healing goes. With the regen from the trait, regen from turret f1 and bomb, I hope to be more effective. Thanks for the suggestions!

The last ones are for speedy kits :p

basically, I’m built to be tanky engineer. I usually run in, lay bombs, and if getting low on health, go back use my pistol stuff and shield throw. My main source of disruptions are the shield skills and big-ol-bomb as well as glue bomb. With the reduced shield recharge rate, I can throw more disruptions more often.

It’s not the best tanky build out there, but I excel best at large number of mobs or when alot of people are in melee mode. If someone else pops a regen (often times I’m tempted to switch to healing turret for the regen), my bomb hits + that is enough to keep the group alive for sustained combat. I’m not very good tanking bosses as I still have considerably lower defense overall versus a pure tank warrior/guardian, but I do great and consistent aoe damage.

often I’m also tempted to change to the regen kit thing, but I find having reduced CD on elixers is very important esp in removing conditions. Imo, it’s very rare for me to see an engi with this kind of build. Most are either rifle/p/p grenade/bomb but more on dps or condi.

the unicorn bow is sooooooooooo amazing. There are PLENTY of amazing-looking bows out there, corrupted bow already looks so nice.

It would, in fact, make you suck more or “lose” as you dont know how to use your class effectively. So, in fact, you lose.

I have two sets of gear, one power/tough/vit and a knight’s set and so far, I find the pwoer/tough/vit to be far more useful. Im also stacking knight jewelry (for extra toughness)

I have 0/0/30/30/10, and have elixer-infused bombs. You have no idea how helpful that is in being a “tanky” eng. Granted you can’t take dmg as much as a guardian/warrior, but I found putting in specific condi (blind, whatnot) and spamming 1 makes your survivability better overall. Getting healed for 180 every 1/2sec (or 3/4sec? I forgot) is huge, esp if you couple in regen and if you have the dolyak rune, you’re looking at close to 400 heal per second which is great! :P

the traits in alchemy are more for elixer stuff, elixer reduction 20%, elixer s at 25% and throwing elixers removes condition (this I love to death so so so much). with 3 elixers on my tool bar (elixer heal, elixer b and elixer s), i have 6 ways to remove condition, and 3 of those i can do for the group! :P

I occassionally equip elixer change-condi-to-buff when I’m dealing with the necro in ac path 2 though :P

I heard this occurring in the MK dungeon. so sad some people can’t wait a bit longer for everyone else to get to the chest =/

dual pistol eng is agood on a condition dmg spec. Lots of condi right there and the 5 skill is a good stopper/chaser.

fyi, I don’t even have my own credit card so I have absolutely no way to buy in-game gems (or even from those gold sellers if that’s what you’re insinuating). I’m at 70% world completion, 220k karma, 12 gold, and 49 ectos still. The only purple thing I have is the Gift of Nobleman. I find there’s no reason not to talk about this casually.

I somehow expect they’ll release a new “UBER COOL” weapon with a limited time duration sometime soon (Christmas? Do they make events for that holiday as well?) which uses another 250 charged lodestone =/ or glacial since it’s christmas. =/

Somehow, I think when they made the game, they already had an idea as to how much prices would be at certain stages of the game. While they may not directly be influencing supply, they can kitten well influence demand by putting in events and stuff that require those stuff (like the halloween stuff).

I think it’s just bad luck the foefire essence was discovered just prior to the halloween stuff and lodestones shot up through the roof. =/

I love the other one. It’s simple and fast. While I want them to stay, I can understand the need for them to go. That way, there is a proper end to these things, and the goodbye will be rather bittersweet.

1/500 doesnt mean you drop 1 precursor from 500 tryes someone just drops it from 10th try and someone from 2000th try. Its not fair but its not unfrair. Thats whot it is and you have to accept it or just dont go for it.

eh? while it doesn’t necessarily mean exactly so, but on average, it’ll take you 500 tries to get 1 (give or take variance, which could be another problem as well). If someone got this on their 10th try and someone got this on their 2000th try, isn’t that all the more unfair seeing as the guy who got it in 10 tries shouldn’t haave gotten it, and the guy who did 2000 tries should’ve gotten 4?

Interesting. What makes it all the more interesting is that it requires an item that is soulbound from the start. There are only very few recipes that do so. (I mean, looted that’s soulbound). I’ll be sure to take note of this the next time I chance upon a bag of gem.

The problem with them putting out the percentages is that, assuming say the percentage is indeed 0.2% or 1/500 as you’ve said, people who have put in at most 500 attempts will complain that they didn’t get their precursor. Even more so people who put in 1000 or 1500. And yet, those possibilities still remain.

mounts can only be OK in my book if:

1.) They’re not allowed in cities. Meaning auto-turn off mounts once you enter them, and you can’t ride on them inside

2.) They provide no real speed advantage over the next walking/running char (even a disadvantage as you cannot use the swift buff while riding a mount). Meaning they run at the same speed as a normal running character.

3.) Once you get hit, you automatically dismount.

4.) You cannot jump while on a mount.

5.) There should be a large blocking issue with mount in that you cannot park them over npcs (definitely a legitimate concern)

6.) They need to look pretty. Somehow, I want a horse on my soon-to-be-made human.

Just checked gw2spidy, it seems the lowest sell price is now at 2.6g. I was alarmed that prices suddenly skyrocketed. Though with the current trend, I certainly won’t be surprised if it came to 4g.

Maybe the player-base is just reaching the “end” part of their stage, and seeking to get legendaries/ unique weapons are now the “in thing”?

400g isn’t an option because I don’t know what the price will be when I actually reach 400g, will it be 500g? 600g? Will I buy it for 400g and the next day a developer will say ‘price now statically set to 150g’ ? On top of that, do you realize what it takes to get 400+ gold? The people who do have that amount got lucky on predicting market trends (vanilla beans, early precursors, etc), exploited formulas before hotfix without punishment, have turn around bots (determine buy price -> calculate if sell price is 15% over buy price -> buy -> sell rinse repeat). None of those things seem very ‘legendary’ and neither does someone who gambled 4 rares and got it on their 3rd try.

There’s no predictability to it. RNG is already part of the formula with Mystic Clovers. If there was a point to work towards, I could see it – but there isn’t and there’s no developer response which makes it incredibly disheartening.

I guess I can understand your pain. The only thing that baffles me is that prices of Colossus, the legend, and the lover suddenly skyrocketed. =/

what?? wait. what??? sucks that someone bought out all the lodestones and repriced them higher =/ I now feel bad for those people who are trying for their legendaries (or even not legendaries but other unique weapons). They should really do something to people who try to monopolize the market of a particular product. (fyi, 100 lodestones at 2.3g each costs only 230g, which im sure alot of people have [precursor sellers]. Now, that person stands to gain at least 50-60g in profit, and max of 200g (from selling them back at 5g a piece). This is really ridiculous! Somehow I think max of 1g a piece is a somewhat fair price to begin with).

I was already alarmed at the rapid price increase in lodestones. I knew it was because of the halloween stuff, but since the chest drops them and getting those became much much cheaper, I’d reckon prices will lower down. I hope something is done about this. I would very much like to see cores or lodestone as stuff that can be bought with dungeon tokens or some other means x.x

completely agree. It’s also a bit scary when you peek out your tower and see “OMG THERE’S STILL A HORDE HERE” and later go “oh nvm, they’re all dead lol”

Yep you read that right, not precursors, but the actual legendaries themselves. You put so much hard work into making that, and I’m guessing at some point you’ll tire of your character having that zapping sound whenever you unsheath your sword or whatnot. I suggest make them account-bound (the only weapon account-bound) so you get to enjoy your nifty weapon with other characters as well. Also, it’ll give newbies a nice surprise when they see themselves leveling with someone weilding a twilight or sunrise.

I’m saying this because just farming wtih my eng I’m already getting slightly bored with him, and getting more fun out of leveling my guardian and ele. I want to get a legendary pistol on him, but somehow, I wanna see that pistol in action in other chars as well. (ok, I realize both guardian and ele cannot use pistol, but you get my point. could always roll a thief or a mesmer for it :P)

At the moment, I can’t think of anything detrimental to this suggestion. Maybe you guys can help? :P [I’m asking for negative feedback coz I feel that’s one of the ways to really test your ideas]

I want more fun titles! Like “Farmer of Tyria” or “Friend of the rabbits” or “Hugger of Dolyaks”. Right now, I only have combat healer and Master Carver. Will have Been there, done that soon, but it doesn’t sound like a title imo x.x

Wait, why is saving 400g not an option anymore, but putting weapons into the forge is? This is what really bugs me. Some people say legendaries are kitten because they are based on RNG. If people hate the RNG so much, they should just farm for the money and buy it. People who gamble on the MF should very well know there is a chance that after 1000 tries, they’ll have 0 precursors (or even 0 stuff that are profitable to sell).

I know it sucks and it’s reaaaaaaaally hard to farm up for 400g. But if your argument is “I hate that my road to legendary is based on RNG, not hard work”, 400g seems to me a hefty hard work.

A friend of mine who plays magic cards told me the method of getting all the rare cards you want isn’t a matter of luck, but of hard work. Go to small tourneys, win, open packs, repeat. (and on the side, shell out for a few packs at a time) If you don’t get it in your first, go do it in the second, and third, and so on. (or trade the cards you get for other cards eventually getting to the rare you want). One random player opening his first pack and getting the rarest (and most expensive) card shouldn’t discourage you from getting yours in a much harder way.

I think a proper perspective here is to assume that you are the unluckiest person in the whole game, and work much much harder to compensate for it. That way, when lady luck does show her grace to you, you feel all the more rewarded. :p

I want to help Quaggans with their math puzzles I’d suggest some puzzles like the ones in Grim Fandango or Monkey Island (old games, I know >.<)

First dropped exotic I got was in the MK dungeon.

I’ve never hated out on a particular race in the puzzle. In fact, I find it useless to hate coz after the first explosion, in maybe around after 10 seconds everyone else starts falling out and you’re left with a relatively smaller group and more even spaced so the big sizes of char and norn are no issue.

I do hate out on people who bring in golems, avatar of nature thingy (sylvari skill I think) to the map with the purpose of distracting people. I’m slightly ok with people giving speed boosts (honestly, how do they even do that??).

ooooooooooooooooh! I’ve never experienced a broken armor before. I just know having an armor piece (or few) damaged isn’t a big deal as it’s still effective. Still… rather scary (and annoying) to let it stay damaged =/ It’s a good thing though if you have extra repair canisters. One saved me from a hefty 10-16s repair bill

When I bought the Ghastly shield skin, I thought I was over the event. I got what I wanted out of it. But I finished the clock tower. And finished some events/achievements in labyrinth. Now I’m 1-2 pumpkins away from a master carver title! :O Now I’m 3 days further from my legendary!

Craft only if it feels fun! I did that for my first toon and it was a blast. Ofc it wasn’t the most efficient, but at that time I could pretty much farm all the stuffs I need (jewelry so no FCMs here). Now though, leveling up armorsmith for my legendary, I feel it’s too dry, like a job or a requirement, and I still get confused with the guides :|

the problem was the use of the word “event”. When people use that word, it usually implies a quest of some sort, hence the panic and the hype =/

The mad king boss seemed more epic than zhaitan
