POW/tough/vit items are also found in AC dungeon explo. It’s not crafting but thought you might wanna know if you wanna pursue that stat combo. and ac is relatively easy to finish :P (lots of people can do it in their sleep, figuratively speaking)

If you refused to co-operate with the group strategy, I would also kick you. Refusing to use a ranged weapon is also refusing to support the team formation, which could screw up the group.

Using a melee weapon in the dredge fractal is pretty silly in my opinion, for example.

There’s nothing wrong with melee itself (some builds even utilize pure melee such as Mace+Shield and shouts “Warrior Ball”), but there’s nothing worse than someone refusing to co-operate with their team.

I think it’s not so much as brdging the gap, but providing other players who don’t want a legendary or those insane 350 charged core mjolnir weapons a way to “grind”, so to speak. Clearly, getting a legendary is harder than the ascended stuff. But it’s even harder to get both items, so people gotta focus on what they wanna spend on.

What explo mode is this? If this is the spider TA part, I would also vote to kick you.

What penatbuter said… By casual orr farming you can get about 1g per hour minimum. Use the money to buy mats. Not that hard now… Or if you do not want to spend money just play the game and wait till you have enough.
Free tip…if you are saving for your legendary you dont actually need to “farm” any mats at all. Just by mystic clover conversion you will probably get more than 50, 60% of mats needed for the craft.
Actually you dont need to farm anything at all… noone forces you to grind for barbie dress-up. It’s another thing if you chose so.
@Decrypter You dont want to spend 2 MONTHS getting 250 RARE mats for a Legendary or Ascended? You want what? 2 weeks, days, hours? Or do you want it now?

Yeah I kind of want it now (Ascended) since I haven’t had a ring drop so far. By your estimate I could go grind for gold 40 hours to have enough $ for a single stack of T6 mats but I call that working, not playing. I miss the ol’ 1.5k armor days.

Legendary is another discussion since that essentially is playing barbie dress up. The context for this post is agony resistance.

It’s only called working if you’re not having fun with it. I don’t really farm per se, but whenever I feel like it, I go to cursed shore and farm for an hour. After that, I’m pretty much set, and go do some dungeons or wvw or lveling my alts :P doing all those are pretty fun for me :P

I’d imagine you’d need to have a good set of teammates with mic for proper coordination, and stable internet connection to avoid those dc’s :P

Assuming those 70 things are purely from farming, how much gold have you accumulated selling blues and greens? As well as ectos you got from yellows?

I don’t know if you noticed, guys, but karma is not mandatory anymore to get a Legendary.
Obsidian Shards can now be bought with Fractal Relics (15 relics per shard).
Before: ~480 shards = ~1 million karma
Now: 480 shards = 7200 fractal relics

You realize to get the ~480 shards, you gotta run at most ~480 sets of fractals?

oooooh interesting. I got like 33 jugs and around 24 vials (wasn’t very religious about my dallies).

You should’ve asked up front if your level is a problem. If they show hesitation or any inclination towards a yes, leave and look for another party.

Or, you can do the dungeon jewelry for now. Saves up on mats you can use for other stuff (esp ectos)

Makes me wonder if anyone from Anet actually sits down and plays their game. Has any of them actually sat around and tried to farm 250 ectos or 250 T6 mats? Or even enough gold to simply buy them?

Not only is there a huge gap between exotics and legendaries, but now there is also a huge gap between exotics and acended which is required to run high level fractals.

1. Legendaries take ~500 ectos and 250 stack of EACH t6 mat so I’m pretty sure it’s possible/doable and
2. Ascended stuff was intended to be the gap between exotics and legendaries. Tbh it’s not that big of a deal unless you want to go further in the fotm.

1.) yes you can. gift items are account-bound so you can do them on alts. Take note that the bloodstone shard (200 skill points) and the other stuff you buy from miyani (the crystals/stones for mystic clover making) are soul-bound.

2.) You can, so long as the rarity is the same (all 4 rares, all 4 green, etc). However, by doing the bow, bow, bow, bow route, you are guaranteed a bow outcome. Diff random stuff will give you random stuff. Imo, it’s generally an item/money sink, and unless you’re doing it for getting exotics/precursors, you’re better off salvaging them for ecto or selling them on TP.

erm… same here. I heard you need the ascended stuff to progress further in fotm. So, I’m gonna step away a bit from the fotm or maybe do until level 5 only until I finish my legendary. :P

think of wvw as pve, except your mobs are smarter and move in groups, so you have to move with “npcs” as well or get left behind :P

and iirc, the story mode also counts as a dungeon run.

Just a question, what healing runes do you guys use? I’m planning to use s. rune of dwayna for the regen bit. Would you recommend something else? I’m a bomber eng btw

Wish they’d go back down to 18s though. even that is gonna help big time.

Or, at the very least, they can force people to visit the new zone and let them decide for themselves whether they like it or not. I’m more worried about the <80 people who want to finish their monthlies with the lot running around screaming “lfg frac 80s only”

some other runes are also bugged =/ Like the monk runes, they don’t always give aegis on elite usage. =/

Well it certainly is a step between legendaries. at least 55 for crafted exotics, 300 for infused ascended stuff, ~500 for legendaries :P

Yeah i broke down and sold the bloods and bought my precursor. Figured it will be easy enough to refarm blood at my own leisure vs trying to chase the ever low price of a precursor. Buying a few bloods here and there for a gold or 2 is much easier to do imo than dropping 50g for scepter precursor plus now i got my precursor out of the way

I agree. Which is why despite losing out on saving 1-3g, I went ahead and bought my pistol. Everything else is broken into part by part (or has along of segments) wherein the largest single-transaction of items required for legendary is the recipe (10g), the rest can be accumulated slowly and one at a time. Kinda funny though, how it’s easier (or seems to be easier) to buy up 100 icy runestones if you do it 2-3 at every jormag event than a flat-out 100g drop on a precursor.

People seem to think more expensive = cooler looking, but that is not the case. Its only more expensive = more unique. Whether it looks cool on you or not, is entirely up to you. I have guildies and known a few people looking high and low for a piece of armor that matches their low level chestpiece coz they think its the best look for them. Personally i prefer the cm one for my asura.

I think you’d better buy your precursor when you can. It’s easier to regret over wasting a few more gold than cursing yourself for wasting the opportunity to be able to buy it. (in case it goes back up, which it likely will)

saw someone selling 9 (NINE) chaos guns at 73g awhile ago. idk if people bought but that’s a clear indication there are some people who have multiple precursors. x.x

I would do the same as well. But try to sell other stuff first before yous ell your t6 mats. make it your “last resort” since it’ll be the other biggest barrier to get your legendary (gift of fortune)

Idk abt u, but i thoroughly enjoyed the zergfest. I was lucky with having little lag so i got to experience the event as intended. Lots of people frobably hated it due to lag, dc, getting stuck, etc, technical errors, not event content.

spam LA and hope someone takes you in? Get a few friends and do it with them on a regular basis? or a guild? Be patient and wait for someone else to /m with you?

Honestly, wrt to the guild argument, the only reason it was suggested because it was the best way to get a list of people immediately and regularly, as well as meeting new friends. If anyone else complains about how you need to have friends to do fotm dungeons… I just… ugh…

It’s gonna be very hard to attract people to southsun cove with veterans taking at least 10 people and champs getting the entire wvw zerg of a server.

It’s not really easier, as the prices for obsi shard and skill point is still high. It’s just giving you another alternative method of getting them. When before you would have to spend X amounts of time running plinx, now you get to spend A amount of time doing dungeons, B amount of time farming for armor and stuff to buy obsi shards and C amount of time actually karma farming (where X = A + B + C, in terms of time, and hopefully amount of relative karma/skillpoints/whatever you need). You hit DR way less, you get to do a variety of activities, and they all point to achieving your goal. I don’t understand what’s so wrong with that? That’s not to say it’s easier, just more diverse and less boring (and less QQ coz of the DR thing. I.e., karma farm in orr, hit karma DR, go run a few dungeons to get karma rewards, karma farm in orr, hit dr, do dailies, loot farm, convert to badges, karma farm again, etc.)

same here. postponing doing fractals till maybe after the event when lag might be more stable.

I’m doing the Grawl dungeon, fell of a high bridge, just near a lake of lava.
The no WP system looks interesting, but the dungeons aren’t designed for this.

I died twice there and I didn’t incur any armor penalty. It’s akin to falling off when doing jumping puzzles, you don’t get damanged armor

That’s why there’s the check point. Like when someone really falls all the way through, they don’t end up somewhere random on the map, nor at the very start, but at the middle layer. At the very least you don’t start all the way at the bottom. (only did the freeing the giant thing)

You are implying that my party can fall to their death. This is not the case. They will incur repair costs. You have thought your statement out about as much as this event has been thought out.

Ok I may have worded it out differently. Give me a break I’ve been up for more than 24hours for this event, and I’m just as frustrated as you are. The only frac I know is the freeing the giant, and there are alot of stuff there where you can fall to your death.

EDIT: I managed to get back to the same map my friends were on, but it started anew for me. meaning you can’t go back really =( totally blows =/

Idk how to get back in Seriously this is so stupid. At least with dungeons if you get dc’d, you can go back in, and continue the dungeon =/ I understand being more experienced etc to do them, but I didn’t realize my net connection has to be strong as well
