I’m all for bragging about how well TC is doing; but not at the expense of ridiculing enemy – its not that FA is doing bad (sure they weren’t in full force earlier this week), but we are doing better. Maybe more players have joined or returned to WvW. But I wouldn’t definitely say that FA isn’t bringing it. As I posted yesterday, we’re past that trend long ago. It’s all about great fights and who survives each battle on each day. Scoreboards be kitten

If you’re from TC, we’ve been in that distant 3rd not a week ago. It’s always better to not forget history. As much as you hate your enemy, be humble in victory or defeat. If they love their loot bags and ridicule RP’ers, let them – prove them wrong on the battlefield which we’ve done multiple times. No reason to brag about victory merely half-way through the week. But yeah I agree with the rest of what you said. Usually the first matchup thread begins all cordial and friendly and eventually ends up in a kittenpool. I’m glad that we went the opposite ways and now are all appreciating the fights despite whatever the score is, while also accepting our strengths and weaknesses. I can’t see any other tier being so closely matched and I would hate to see it change anytime sooner.

Let’s face it – FA never beat TC before in T3 and they proved everyone including TC wrong last week, which TC as well accepted, appreciated and still does. Now we’re past that “hey I’m better than you” or “you guys zerg so you win” or any “grudge-counter grudge” stuff and it’s all about nail-biting competition and intense fights than anything else. What more could you ask for? We’re at a point where it’s more of “who does better today” rather than “who’s gonna come on top this week”. A little more SEA coverage for both TC & FA would just make this the perfect tier anyone would wish to be part of.

I must say, YB and BG are almost a tie in my book, as far as best reputed servers for good sports goes – the former for being classy while losing and outmanned, the latter for being classy while being in the lead; and also for indirectly teaching TC a lot in advanced tactics. Now KN also joined that league since the moment they stepped into T2 and BG/KN/TC holds the record for being the longest running matchups thread ever – 3 matchups all under one thread with zero lockdowns.

Am also glad to see TC get major props from the opponents (TC previously won the Best Opponent Award for 2012 :P), so thanks everyone! Proud to be a part of The Toast!

I should really start getting more sleep (anything more than 3.5hrs a day) or I would keep on reading “underwater” as “underwear” every time someone types it on chat or here on forum.

Some random guy: “Hey, found a mesmer underwater at Bay”…. Me : “There’s a what?!”

But I agree with the general sentiment that T2 is the most fun tier. Can get exhausting at times (but that’s got more to do with people pulling long hours to cover for the lack of coverage at particular timeslots, which is true for all 3 servers in this tier), but overall it is fun. TC wouldn’t have learnt some of the advanced, fun and weird tactics if we weren’t in T2 for so long against the likes of BG & KN, and ofcourse now FA. I’m just glad it isn’t against a super-stacked server like SoR was before heading into T2, or against low-pop servers like Mag in T3. It isn’t fun or fair for any server involved in the tier.

Oyjord, it all depends on the preferred class and playstyle preference. WvW build could be purely support/purely dps/zerg fight-based/solo roaming style play based etc. On main forum, each profession has its own sub-section where you/your wife should be able to find different builds for each profession for various playstyles. I guess posting in a particular profession’s section with preferred style of play should get you some help on what you’re looking for. Hope you manage to find a suitable build for your wife and you guys enjoy WvW!

But since you want her to like WvW in the first place, maybe take her around with basics like supply runs, escorting yaks and defense and then some offensive play so that she could get an idea on where she seems fit?

While the trolling posts from TC is indeed embarassing for us, quoting them and name-calling or shaming an individual is doing no good either. As discussed on TC forums, it’s better if we mass-report them silently and let Anet deal with them with perma-ban or suspensions.

I streamed some TC back-line action with Coral by my side tonight as we busted FA and KG out of our BL and invaded FA to demoralize them further. Excuse video/audio quality.

Can we atleast get the info of queue size of a map when pointing at a waypoint to move to the location to do a particular event and maybe a warning that the map is full before entering it? It’s not fun to spend 3s from, say Cursed Shore to Frostgorge and then get thrown into overflow and to spend another 3s to get back to CS because you are doing nothing, and can’t enter WvW from overflow.

@Selan, So you must’ve had two lords in the tower? I saw this happen at a camp where the supervisor was killed outside the circle range and the camp got capped, while the sup got rezzed by a thief. There were 2 supervisors and it was hilarious. But since in OP’s case both opposite teams were inside circle, it shouldn’t have capped at all. Weird bugs :/

Outmanned buff should be reworked to give them the benefits that orbs used to give like increased HP and stuff. Enemy is already outmanned, they need increased defenses to be able to sustain a little more in fights against a zerg; not magic find boosts and xp gains. If farming is the intention of a player he’d rather be in Orr or Frostgorge.

Same here. It basically just says the seal must be broken. There’s no pre-event pop up anywhere. I checked on a few other servers and they all are the same.

Oh not at all. You can ask BG & KN how bad they kicked our kitten last 3 weeks despite being friendly on the forums :P. TC only tries to prevent any personal animosity with enemies atleast at forum level. TC has fought as hard as it could in T2 for 10 weeks despite the soft mindset we carry overall so I doubt it would make its enemies softer on the battlefield.

We just try to respect our opponent and remind each other that its afterall a game with real human beings on the other side who have as much responsibility as we do for our respective servers and have great battles while also having fun parties before reset to end the week on a good note. I’m sure it isn’t that difficult to be nice to each other as human beings if not as pixels ingame.

Great job defending that NE tower on your BL, TC! Used at least 8 sup trebs attempting to get it…. All failed …. I just wanted the cookies you had inside….

That tower is always our last stand, and it stood tall many times with broken walls against countless hordes of enemies.
I’m not in-game right now so I can’t be sure; but if there’s a chalice on the flags hanging by that tower, you better bring more siege and more bodies. TCC keeps more than cookies in that tower.

These bosses have always been farmed – countless times, by lots of zergs. Only a few got rares or exotics-very few of them, while the rest of them have been spending equal amount of time and effort in doing these events and not getting rewarded well. That is unfair. Anet listened to the community and fixed things so there’s no more “class difference” in-game like “lucky” and “unlucky”. If they were givin away exotics, even I’d be complaining, but that’s not the case. Things are fine as they are now.

Those Orr events gave more than 2-3 rares and lots of T5,T6 mats and even exotics with zero effort. Nobody complained back then. Atleast now these chests give only one rare.

As I said, complain about the event not challenging enough – the title itself is misleading and the loot is just fine. It should do justice to casuals as much as it did to elitists and market manipulators all while long. The game was advertised as its for casuals as much as it is for hardcore players. Hardcore players have time to farm all day long, and do dungeons. Open world events are all that casuals can do in their limited time – and no way should the game punish them for being casual. As I said, this thread is ridiculous and must be closed before Anet nerfs drops again.

Invite requirement for guesting is a good thing for players who want to play with friends and that was the main intention behind the system. While I understand the concern of alfista, there’s a fix to that as well. They could have a trial feature for those looking at transferring on other servers – only for once. Say a player from server A is willing to transfer but not able to make a choice – so he gets an option to have a trial run per each server – but only for once. He can run a trial on server B for 2 days, check it out and the game shouldn’t allow him to do another trial on the same server again, but allow it on a different server. So this way guesting wouldn’t be abused, and those willing to transfer to check out different aspects of a server will get a chance to do so. Trial run should also enable players to visit WvW on the server they are visiting but disable access temporarily to guild and of course fix partying with enemies and other features like upgrading etc. so they aren’t abused either.

This system would differ from guesting system in that you cannot run a second trial on a server you have already been to and also friends with valid invites wouldn’t be affected by this. It might take some more time to implement, but will help balance out things in the long-run and also for those willing to transfer for PvE or WvW reasons would actually get to see how things run on a server without falling for PR strategies.

For 3 months people have been crying over bugged loot drops incl. chest drops. Now they make it better and someone still has to complain. Close this thread please! Don’t make the game any more ‘difficult’ to lay your eyes on – atleast now there’s a reason to PvE! And each rare I got until now still sells for less than 1 glob of ecto – so no big deal.

Well we had hostile NPC’s in Hills keep in the past, like 2 weeks ago I think. Funniest thing I’ve seen – one repair NPC was hostile and the other was non-hostile. Both started dueling each other :/
