Dyes to Match Crystalline Dragon Wings?

I’ve used the Electro Purple and Blue dyes for matching the bright colors of the wings but they are so expensive right now. Maybe Pastel Blue and Pastel Wine?

scepter still aviliable ?!

Posted by: rabidsmiles.5926

rabidsmiles.5926

I personally bring my scepter into fractals because usually standing near the boss would get me killed from social awkwardness. It has a strong low cooldown attack on 3 and I always have 3 illusions up for a quick CS quickness rotation without having to think about it and if I am using the signet heal, I don’t usually have to use it because of the passive illusion healing. If you are in a good group with spatial awareness, of course sword is going to be the better option. In raids, it’s sword…it’s the reason you can tank.

Have you picked up a trait called Quick Draw? It lets your next ranger/druid skill you use after weapon swap have a significantly lower cool down…so you’d use your CA form (which counts as a weapon swap) use skill 4, 3, spam 1 til 4 is up again, then leave. You get 2 full uses of the 4 skill, giving you more healing for yourself and the damage buff. Quick Draw is like a serious bread and butter tool of a Druid and something to absolutely have in your pocket. If you don’t like the second weapon set, have two SB and still proc your Quick Draw trait.

Commander’s is meta for Chrono…Commander’s leggings with a few trinkets added depending on if you want to use the expensive utility Boon duration buff or not.

The others I find are almost prohibitively expensive to create, needing so many freshwater pearls/maguuma lilies/some-other-over-priced-hard-to-get-mat that it’s ridiculous :/

Which non-heavy class?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: rabidsmiles.5926

rabidsmiles.5926

I love my Chronomancer, I bring two unique tools to a party that at this point have become so meta I’m afraid I will never be playing anything but Chrono from now on. Quickness has become player crack and Alacrity is the icing on the Chrono cake. I have a lot of blocks/invulnerabilities and I have a way of sharing my invulnerability to others as well with a simple use of a signet and/or summoning a phantom if I trait it right. Shield 4 skill is my in-game love…if I could marry a skill it would be that one. Focus 4 makes my party happy, groups just love it when I snag a whole bunch of mobs and bring them in close for an epi/cleave hug party. The rotation can easily be ingrained into the memory and leaves you a lot of tools to work with after it too.

Yes I found this annoying as well, I don’t understand why we’d be given the other set gloves when there are more pieces of the first set we want in the first place. I want those kitten radiant leggings so badly it hurts but it’s oodles and oodles of AP and instead I have some useless hellfire that will never see the light of my character -.-

Chrono causes confusion irl.

in Mesmer

Posted by: rabidsmiles.5926

rabidsmiles.5926

While I don’t raid on my Chrono, I do run t4 fractals daily with her. I’d stick with the metabattle/QT builds, especially if you plan on taking your Chrono into raids. The Commander’s leggings and rest zerker build is meta for a reason

Personally though, I went marauders mostly because I run fractals and any of my junk Chrono DPS isn’t going to be missed within the group by bulking up my HP; also it raises my crit chance as well. I play on a potato computer and sometimes I am not able to see the ranged attacks being thrown at me. Then because I am too cheap to make the 20% boon duration utility buff (it’s horridly expensive and I run my fractals to make gold kitten it!), I tossed on more commander’s trinkets to up the boon duration. I rarely end up on the floor and I am able to keep passing on the quickness to the group.

Most important part however is learning the quickness rotation. This and your alacrity buffs is the reason you are being brought. Priority is always getting your rotation down and right. There are a few youtube videos at there, though most are pre the signet nerf. I found this one on reddit to be particularly useful: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/596shf/gnus_guide_to_easy_quickness_in_five_simple_steps/

You don’t have to use Leadership runes but they are by far the most helpful for boon duration. Yes, basically the Chrono stress of adding up to 100% duration is because you are the one passing off the quickness duration. Durability is a good alternative but if you find yourself bored, go find a Dragon Stand meta map and spend an hour and a half getting the ores, it never hurts to work towards them.

Good class for ascended armor?

rabidsmiles.5926

Been playing Fractals seriously with my guild mates for years now. Out of all the professions I have, I always go back to my boon share Chronomancer. It is by far the most fun profession for me to play. It can be as simple or as intricate as you make it out to be and has various ways of ensuring you don’t eat dirt. I bring the unique alacrity buff and quickness to a group, both of which are always appreciated and wanted. I have a tempest and a reaper and both are fine to bring too but they are ‘get in as much damage as possible’, where as the Chrono there’s always something else for me to be doing and I never get bored.

Also…my favorite skill in the whole game is on a Chrono focus, the temporal curtain pull is so useful for helping the necros get their epidemics off and just general grouping for cleaving. I get the most fun watching whole groups just go ‘yoink’ and be pulled right into death.

How would you redesign the mesmer?

in Mesmer

rabidsmiles.5926

All I want is for the three dots to have two different colors, the lighter purple for clones and a darker one for phantoms. That way I can quickly judge if a phantom skill is on cooldown if it’s safe to use a clone summoning skill without having to take the time to see what is up and where it is on the play field. It’s life and death out there and sometimes I just want to glance at the dots and be able to get a general feel for what I have out.

Do you have any proof, like a video showing that the durations aren’t being increased correctly?

It’s not showing up out of combat and I tested it naked with a golem and there was no change to the boon duration while I had boons on me from the SoI. It stayed the 4% I had from a platinum dubloon on an offhand weapon so I’d say it’s borked?

Best class for an asura?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: rabidsmiles.5926

rabidsmiles.5926

I find that the Thief and the Elementalist animations for asura are far better than the other races, they are frantic and all over the place and generally a lot of fun to watch. I have a fondness for my asura ranger, as having my pet be as big as I am is amusing.

I do find that when you character create, making the character the tallest the slider will allow, helps with some of the problems of tiny armor and weapons. You end up being just a bit smaller than the smallest human and things don’t shrink down as badly.

So I find myself in pugs and in my guild group who aren’t the meta runners so I find myself taking a lot of damage and not able to keep up that number 6 bonus of the scholar runes. Was wondering if I ought to swap out to strength or another set since the main reason for the scholar isn’t being used through out almost all of my fights. With how things go, the eagle runes would be better than scholar :/

What’s a better rune set for an ele who finds themselves at half HP almost all the time? I don’t raid, only t4 fractals and dungeons and the ect PvE stuff.

I get whispers all the time of ‘omg your Asura is adorable’. I made mine all the tallest they could be, which is around the smallest for human and I have spent literally hours at the wardrobe trying to find the perfect combination. Maybe it’s the heavy armor? I never liked the heavy armors much in this game.

I find that Humans are all so bland, Norn are just bigger Humans and while there are a million combinations for a Sylvari, they tend to run the bland gambit as well. Charr can be cool, I’ve seen some seriously awesome looking Charr or a super adorable female one. Wish I could take staring at the slow feeling loping gait of the Charr but after playing Asura all the time, I can’t do it.

All of the ones I play are female Asura, for the pure fact that I adore the voice actress. I love the Asura personal storyline and even on a shouty Tempest, the voice doesn’t grate my nerves like the female Human/Sylvari/Norn/Charr do. I do have a set of ‘pretties’, female Humans for when I want to look at the pretty Human armors but the voice will irritate me after a while. Also, the Asura animations are so much fun to watch on all the professions.

I get my enjoyment from a rather silly weapon and whoever can get theirs with a huge screen taking up GS or whatever legendary you happen to prefer. Lumping every one who ever made a Dreamer into one big troll pile isn’t cool…that’s not why some of us made it. It’s not my fault the noises bug you just as it’s not someone’s fault while standing in a stack I can’t see anything because of a huge GS or a Norn/Charr butt in my face.

Ugh I can never make up my mind!

I get so much enjoyment out of my Condi Reaper…I can survive T4 fractals without a scratch and having a whole horde of critters to summon is fun, watching them bleed out bosses gives me the warm fuzzies. Reaper shroud is fun to look at and even more fun to play with.

I like my Tempest but holy fragile glass Batman! I hate dropping so much in group work and having to have people stop to ress me because I ran out of dodges (curse you Lethargic Instability!). I do like that they use one of my favorite legendaries, Bifrost, on a constant basis.

I am learning to love my Druid but still haven’t quite mastered the f5 usage. There’s so many buttons I have to press now that I get stressed out because I don’t think I am pressing them in the correct manner. Also, I am used to playing a dedicated healer in groups so being a sort of healer makes me feel guilty when someone goes down, like it was my fault. I love that I can name my pets silly names like Calvin and Hobbes. I like that a Druid can use both of my legendaries but not on the same build…wish I could! So now I have to make another set of medium armor for a condi build…at least it gives me something to do.

If I was being twisted to call one a main it would be the Reaper because usually its the go to for fractals. The Druid I use for Auric Basin and Dragon Stand farming and the Tempest is usually for Dungeons.

I was debating for weeks over making a legendary, more specifically The Dreamer, because only two professions could use it and at the time Rangers laughed at SBs. I could have made one of the GS or Bifrost or Bolt and more characters could have used it but in the end, I loved Dreamer and it’s unicorns. Do I regret making it? Nope…not one bit, I equip onto my thief or ranger and enjoy it while I play it. Basically, what I am saying is make the effort for the one you really want the most, not the one you can use on multiple characters. Why bother putting in all that time and effort if you didn’t really want it in the first place?

I pretty much only run the high level fractals, the T4 dailies and what not. While I love my condi reaper, sometimes one wants to play something else. I think I’ve settled on Druid but here is where the question comes in…do I go Condi or Healing? Power Druid seems sort of useless, low damage and low healing so why bother? Or is there something I don’t see about running power gear on a Druid for a T4 Fractal?

Not too sure how useful a full magi healing druid is gonna be in a Fractal setting, damage is king there…but is there pause for maybe considering it? Or should I just blow my bank up and swap my zerk stuff over to vipers? How are the Condi Druid’s healing capabilities?
