I probably don’t spec for D/D properly because I just don’t find it useful as a Carrion Ele. I use S/D mostly… stacking might in fire then finishing them off in earth destroys stuff pretty darn fast for me.

The graphics aren’t even that bad. I would recommend checking it out. You can play the entire thing with henchmen and/or heroes, which is what I did. Some people talk about GW2 being less social than the first game but I feel it’s the opposite. Anyway, enjoy

Elementalist, here… I would like the option to trade my elite slot for another utility simply because I rarely use my elite. I only find Glyph of Elementals sort of useful so if I notice it (aka remember it’s there), I’ll use it, otherwise I don’t need it since I can get out of most jams without it… so I’d rather use the slot for a passive signet.

But, i’m confident that they will be releasing more elites down the road so hopefully one of those is something passive

I’m curious why someone would even ask that for story mode. Anyway, I wouldn’t bother with people that demand to know your build. That’s a sign (in my experience) they won’t be very fun to play with.

I would like to see more tasteful short skirts or pants added to the light armor selection… I would use the starter armor but I don’t want to see my character’s underwear every time i’m running. I feel like it’s either that or a million “butt capes” to choose from. Even the expensive karma armor has some big lace thing covering the backside. What is up with that?! So many beautiful armors from the front, but from the back they are so boring.

I’m also waiting for another light armor to be released but it’s not even in the PvP Locker so who knows when that will come out. whaaaa…..

I exclusively play PvE. I used to be on Sorrow’s Furnace and that felt more WvW-oriented. I’ve since been on Yak’s Bend for the past month or so and I am pretty darn happy with it. Met some very nice people on YB!

It will change after level 20. If you craft armor, you can get a different look every x levels (can’t remember the exact number). If you don’t craft, you could purchase crafted armor off the TP or buy other unique armor skins from Karma vendors as you level. Drops are typically the same few skins over and over again.

I got plenty of dyes over the last 2-3 days. I usually got one per day but I was getting more like 5+ per day lately. My friends and I were sharing and swapping dyes all weekend.

I miss it, too. It was the most fun I’ve ever had during a GW event. It doesn’t help that once in a while I’ll see a phantom candy corn node and get all excited, hehe.

I never think of it as a chore. I just go about my business and most of the time I get the daily. if not, no big deal.

While we’re on the topic of skill points for legendaries… according to the wiki, you need 200 skill points to create a bloodstone shard… does anyone know if this item, once created, is account- or soulbound?

I do solely pve and use both… armor of earth through the earth’s embrace trait (and final shielding)… and I use mist form if my health gets really low, gives me an extra second to use my heal

I had a lot of fun trying for a couple of days but I gave up once I learned it wasn’t a new skin.

Get your armor first. Then look pretty going for whatever else you want to do.

Someone people have suggested to purchase gear from karma vendors and throw them into the mystic forge… but I can’t remember if what comes out is still soulbound or not?

yeah i love the quaggans. I have chased the little quaggan kids in their little costumes around LA because they are just that cute.

Yeah, waypoints are expensive… So as a rule I always port for free to the closest major town (via the mists and LA asura gates) and try not to leave the zone until I’ve more than recouped my port costs.

I got one lvl 77 exotic head piece and 2 repair canisters among a bunch of green stuff. I was so jealous of one party member who got 5 fine transmutation stones! I need those!

At first I didn’t expect much out of the Halloween events but I gotta say, I’m pretty darn satisfied with it now and we’re not even done yet!

I gave up on the clock tower once I learned the Mad King gear isn’t a new skin but I’m loving the MK dungeon.

I did the MK dungeon a lot yesterday and it sure felt like DR kicked in for the reward chest at the end, after maybe 10 or so runs it got more obvious. Near the end I was only getting 2 greens and either some tonics or a booster… while in the beginning IIRC I was getting about 5 items out of it per run. including an exotic and a couple of rares during my first few attempts.

Needless to say I am very excited to get back in there after work tonight!!

I tried for about an hour tonight with no luck. I actually think this puzzle is tons of fun and i looove the challenge but it became impossible because of everyone blocking my view. if they could make it a solo thing that would be best imo.

I think the closest thing to epic I’ve experienced is casting meteor shower as an Elementalist. I just love the floating in the air and all the destruction that follows.

I don’t think they will do that but I wouldn’t mind a couple extra trait points?

Did the chance to see the troll increase lately? Before this week I’ve never seen him before, and I’ve seen him 5 or so times over the last 7 days or so. I’m not to thrilled about him popping up near Kholer. I’d rather kill them both separately. But once on path 1 or 3 he spawned and killed a bunch of ghosts for us which was most welcome

I’d love this feature. If I recall correctly we could dye weapons in GW1 so this would be nice to do again!

Every time I enter Lornar’s Pass, I need to turn off depth blur because everything becomes blurry, including my character. So there’s no depth, just blur! It’s only if I zoom in right up to her back that she appears in focus. I don’t have this problem in any other zone I’ve visited though I only have about 65% completion… Restarting etc. doesn’t help. I use the Nvidia 560 ti card and use “best appearance” settings if that makes any difference.

make sure you clearly advertise for story mode to avoid confusion. People are usually lfg or recruiting in either the dungeon’s zone or in LA

I’m also curious how you can link up cross-server to do dungeons. Do they automatically get the message to enter the dungeon instance as long as they are in the right zone (e.g. Plains of Ashford for AC), regardless of their server?

@Roz – they don’t even need to be on Yaks bend/(Insert your home server here). Dungeons work cross server.

I also waited until i was level 80 before even trying AC story mode and I felt a similar anxiety about trying dungeons. I know how discouraging it can be when a party member is rude about people not knowing the dungeon but don’t give up on them. There are some decent people out there.

I’d advise to let your team know that it’s your first time so that they know to give more directions. And if they kick you out for that, well then they’re jerks and who wants to play with jerks! I’d rather take more time with a nice group, personally.

I had the same problem (on an NA server). Linked my accounts… no portal stone in my inventory when i created a new character… when i went to the HoM the NPC basically said my accounts weren’t linked… Tried logging in to GW1, no help there… Support’s automated responses were not helpful (telling me how to link my account when i specifically said over and over again that they were linked)… then one day a week or so later, it worked out of nowhere. Be patient and hopefully it will work itself out?

i think i have around 5g right now, at level 80. i spent around 6-8g last night on exotics. i only started saving at level 80 but i’m not very efficient at it… i spend most of my time in AC lately (for weapon skins… 1/3 purchased so far) and am only as far as the straits of devastation in my personal story.

i don’t mind saving at a slow pace though, i don’t think i’ll get bored any time soon

conjured ice bows are helpful for the mounds, for those that feel they don’t have enough dps.

Sorry to say but i’m glad it’s not just me. i don’t do WvW but it’s happening to me in PvE and dungeons ever since the October 18 update. my game has full out crashed twice since then as well with no problems at all before the 18th. ??

I’ve had 2 crashes with error reports sent, and probably at least 20 disconnects since the most recent update. Most of it happened in AC exp mode so i thought it was linked to that, but i’m trying to work on my personal story today and i just got disconnected again.

I’m not logged into the game right now but IIRC, I think the gear might be Soulbound on Acquire BUT your tokens are account bound? so you could use one character to farm tokens, put them into your bank then grab them with your other character… i’m sure someone will correct me if i’m wrong!

Yes, please do this! or at the very least, please make the text color different for those you can’t equip so that you don’t have to hover over each name to see the red note…

i’ve noticed that the search results always give me way more than what i’m looking for. For example, if i want to search for a carrion staff i type in “carrion” and then filter for weapon – staff – blah blah. but when i try to sort these results by price, i no longer see carrion at the top of the list and would need to search again or browse through a bunch of berserker/valkyrie/whatever. Just an example, it’s happened to me for all weapon and armor types too. basically, the search term is useless if you plan to sort your results any further. if you could actually limit the results to what you search for, that would be great :P

Can’t remember the whole name but it’s the Nvidia 560 Ti yadda yadda yadda one. It works very well on Best appearance settings.

I was in AC last night as well and just a few minutes after we got the “new build available, game will restart in 3 hours” message, my client crashed. i sent an error report and logged back in, but i couldn’t rejoin my group. when i tried to walk into the dungeon, it gave me some “can’t access the log in server” error that I can’t remember exactly… I was able to leave the group and walk into the dungeon alone, just not with the group. They asked someone else to try joining in and that person got the same error as i did. weird!

dyes are account bound until you double click them to apply them to your character. i think Direksone may be out of luck. i always do that, delete a character forgetting to purge the inventory and $$. d’oh…

i agree with the poster above that it might be adult players with less time on their hands, like me. on weeknights i’m only on around 8-10:30 pm central time and i’ve had a similar experience as the OP.
