Fxncy’s statement is incorrect. Placing a new upgrade over the old one destroys the old one.
I want fine transmutation stones to go on sale.
Yeah me too! It’s the only thing I ever consistantly convert my gold to gems for.
Ah, I was going to ask if they have gone on sale yet because I keep forgetting to check the sales each day. Phew!
Path 1 is fast and easy. Decent money if I recall correctly. I’m always up for it so if anyone else runs it regularly feel free to add me and invite me on your next run
Sweet. Great work! To be bookmarked later tonight
Did they really reduce the number of players per zone or is this speculation? I’m trying to look for some sort of dev note on this and I can’t find it. Either way, Yak’s Bend is getting pretty bad during NA prime time (not sure about other times since I work during the day). I don’t want to wait 30 minutes before a window starts to avoid overflow so I’m going to take a break from these events. I’d rather do a dungeon or two during that time instead.
This must be one of the most suggested topics I see on the forum and I am again adding my support. We want it, bad! Please
The cost is pretty great for a small guild. Mine has already started farming together to buy up influence so we can catch up. It would have been nice to stagger the cost based on guild size as the OP outlined right from the beginning. But now that it’s been implemented, I don’t know if they would ever change it.
I think you would love Guardian.
I don’t think it will affect things too much.
It won’t affect it much. +20% of almost nothing is still almost nothing. Gold from monsters is not a large chunk of the gold production in the game. Far higher is the amount people make from DE rewards, hearts, vendoring items, and so forth.
The gilded infusion is best for players that run a lot of dungeons since bosses will drop 10s or more, here and there.
People that farm in the open world would benefit more from the MF infusion.
I and the most active members in my guild of 20 have been farming together so we can buy up the influence to unlock guild bounties (just started AoW lvl 5 last night, wahoo!). It’s been great to see people rally together to tackle the hurdle in front of us rather than leave to join a bigger guild. Warms my heart!
I just hope we will have enough people around at one time to be able to find and kill 2 bounties in 15 minutes once we get there.

I love the dailies.
I hate that ascended awards are time gated behind them
Gotta agree on this. Especially now that I have three 80s!
Wow I completely missed this issue until the thread popped up again today. Is this why I’m constantly losing target on everything? I use the mouse to move and am always pressing the right mouse button.
Yep, this would be the problem.
:( Please fix this, pretty please!
I just took a look at gw2armor.com and it looks like Tactical shows the most skin. You can also show some of your arms with Vigil armor.

Add me to the group that likes the dailies, even better now than before. Got 3/5 yesterday during one CoE run, and I got a BLSK! Looking forward to seeing my options later tonight!
Guardian was the third character I got to level 80. I have a lot invested in my other two characters but I got so into my guardian that she is now my new main. Totally worth rolling!
I’d definitely go for the white/red version. Looks like your armor is stained with blood.
What damny said. The cave in Caledon is full vet hyleks that respawn very fast and there is a chest at the end of the puzzle, too.
Rares aren’t guaranteed, but the chances to get one are super high now. I think I’ve done maybe 5-6 world events since patch day and i missed out on a rare from only 1 of them.
Great idea. I tried to track both last night and checking monthly categories overrode my daily categories in the UI. Nice to see the suggestion is being passed on!
Tequatl last night on Yak’s Bend was pretty bad. I usually get 50-60 fps on best appearance setting and i was down to 14-15 fps for that one, skills lagging like crazy. Everyone in map chat talking about it, too.

1 is better but I agree with DrixTrix, I would add some gold to the outfit to better match the weapons.
by this time next year there might be a bunch of new currencies rendering those obsolete :P
I like to make goals for myself – those usually have to do with mastering a new profession. Now that I have found my sweet spot with Ele, Mesmer and Guardian, I’m working on Thief. Once I’ve sated those urges I’ll probably start to work on legendaries for each of them.
And when I don’t feel like working on my current goal I’ll do whatever else I feel like. I have lots of stuff to do!
I also like to play because I’ve made a few friends in game and I like to chat with them, do group activities etc.
Well I must be the kind of person that dailies are intended for because I enjoy going out of my way to complete them (rather than doing them as I play) and I like them even more now that I have different choices each night. Dailies are a guild activity on most nights and we all enjoy getting together to knock them out. Ooh and I am so excited because the monthly will reset soon
I just wish there was a weekly!
I can certainly see this being a welcome addition to the game if I had otherwise run out of entertaining things to do in GW2, which seems to be the case for you and your guild.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective) I have not run out of fun things to do in the game. Not by a longshot. But, unfortunately (definitely, in this case), I am not getting a chance to do those fun things because (as you said) we must now go out of our way to complete the Daily rather than it being completed as we play naturally. Most of my available time online (which, granted, is not a lot) is being tied up with an activity that used to not chew up any of my available time at all, which causes me to dislike the change.
Now, if the rotation always included kill quantity, kill variety, gathering, and normal events together as the available choices, I would not be running into the problem I’m currently having.
Please don’t make all these assumptions, I was only trying to show some support for the new daily system. I never said you must now go out of your way to complete the daily. I said I enjoy going out of my way to do it, that’s just me. Also I (and my guildmates) have not run out of fun things to do, i’m just a person that likes structure so i like having a task I can do each night that I log in (especially now that I can choose different tasks, even more fun for me). I bang out my daily quickly within 15-20 minutes then I move onto other fun stuff I also enjoy. I get how some might not like the dailies and that is unfortunate. But they are optional and you could probably still get them done during regular play most of the time depending on what you choose.

I’ve only done the new and improved path 1 so far and i enjoyed it. Lower HP is always welcome. The one kind of annoying part was one of the burrowing gravelings was burrowing so often we could barely get 1 hit in before it went under again. But we got his kitten eventually. I think it was just that one though, none of the other burrowing mobs gave us the same problem. Looking forward to path 2 and 3 hopefully tonight!
By sticking with the game, I mean that leveling feels tedious and I run out of quests, right now I have no quests incomplete at my level in my zone. However I can’t progress any further because my Story Line quest is higher level than I am. I’m just lost and i’m having a hard time figuring everything out.
Here is another tip if you’ve maxed out your starting zone – visit another race’s starting zone (Caledon Forest for Sylvari, Queensdale for Humans, Plains of Ashford for Charr, Wayfarer Foothills for Norn) – those will give you a bunch more heart quests, DEs and map pts to find within your level. To get to another starter zone your best bet is to enter Lion’s Arch through the Heart of the Mists (the little crossed swords button on top of the screen). Once you go through the short PvP tutorial, you will have access to an area with an asura gate that takes you straight to LA. While in LA you can take asura gates to every other town, which always exits right into a starter area – that way you won’t need to run through a harder zone to get to other starter zones. Hope that helps!
Welcome! If you haven’t yet, check out this starter guide with some great tips.
As for leveling, since you just started out, killing mobs isn’t the most efficient way in this game. The best way is to get out and see the sights, get map completion, do all the dynamic events and heart quests you come across, also personal story missions too. And make sure you check out your Achievements tab for daily/monthly achievements, as you get extra xp and rewards for completing those tasks too.
Once you gather up some materials and cash after exploring a bit you can also get xp for teaching your character different crafts. I believe that maxing each craft, without xp boosters can get you 10 levels.
If you have any questions while in game feel free to add me and send me a message anytime!
Had you done it more than once? They changed all of those chests to once a day, ostensibly in trade for slightly better drops (not that I’ve seen any such thing)
I have! Seems to be 1 rare minimum now …
Though 3 or 4 is a crappy sample size.I was hoping this is the case but then I didn’t get any rares from Megadestroyer, so while the chances are higher it’s not 100%
From what I hear, the guaranteed rare is for level 80 players only. This seems to be the case from my experience since the patch.
I completed megadestroyer on one of my lvl 80 characters and did not get a rare, only greens/blues.
Yeah, you’re going to have trouble finding a guild of 20 members that already has guild missions going. It’s a shame because my small guild would meet your requirements except guild missions as we are still working on saving up the influence – but we are committed to having fun getting to our goal. Good luck to you!
I’m one of those people that can’t help but take out every ambient critter i see, so it was nice to be rewarded for my diligence. My apologies to the bunnies.
I loved the choices last night, got it done pretty fast!
Yak’s Bend is a great friendly server. We have a lot of PvE players so no map is ever empty, and we usually hover around mid-tier in the WvW rankings. I definitely recommend it.
The link Curuniel posted above is great to read. I wish I had known a couple of those tid bits when I started out!
If you have any questions about the game feel free to send me a whisper, i’m usually around in-game after work. Enjoy!

New features:
- Following feedback from the community for the tediousness of acquiring precursor weapons, a new coin currency was introduced for completing the main story: “Legendarions”. They are limited to one per character and can be exchanged for precursor weapons at the new trader, “Zelda”, in LA. One-handed weapons: 70 Legendarions, two-handed weapons 100 Legendarions.
Okay this made me lol at work, thanks very much!
Urmaug’s Secret is in Lion’s Arch.
+ short
+ accessible
+ easy
+ no weird mechanics
+ no claustrophobia- none
Yep. This is the jp i completed for my daily with 1 minute to spare before the reset yesterday, boy that felt good!
My guild has around 20 members in it right now and we earn about 10k influence per week. It was a bit disheartening at first to see how much is needed to unlock guild missions but even though we can’t start guild bounties today (or probably another month or two if we don’t buy influence – we’re researching AoW 3 right now), we have a goal to work towards, together.
I highly doubt that they will make guild missions cost less, ever. It will be more of an uphill battle for small guilds going forward so if we want to stay small, I think we’ll need to accept that it will take more work to keep them going as we intended. Or, we can be absorbed into larger guilds but eh, I don’t think my ego would allow that :P
“Fixed a bug that caused loot chests to spawn.”
“Fixed a bug where the game was fun.”
“The Tengu are massing in the Dominion of Winds! Find out next February what they are planning.”
lol I love this thread
It’s a swell idea. However while on one hand it would give some people motivation to contribute more, some might see it as a way to measure quotas. But if that’s the kind of guild I was in I would simply leave. So yeah, a good idea!
My small guild earns about 10k influence per week and are only at researching AoW lvl 3 right now but we’re not going to let guild missions destroy the group. We will keep earning influence, buying it when we can, and get there eventually. If anyone wants to be absorbed into a large guild they are welcome to do so but I don’t think anyone will since we have built up a pretty nice tight community.
It is disappointing there is nothing new that we can do together right now but we’ll be patient.
I don’t think a lot of, if any, members are going to leave my small guild in favour of faster access to guild missions in a larger guild but most of them aren’t major money makers either so it will take us quite a while to get there.

The current inability to remap this key is a big frustration with the game currently. Not only does it result in the flooding of /m, /p, /s, /g, etc with linked skills but it often will open up the text box to link the skill but leave the cursor in the text box and it ends up looking like this:
[Shadow Shot]wwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeee
as I attempt to move forward or strafe right while my character stands still. I use Ctrl as the modifier for most of my utility skills and this happens all too often.
lol i see i’m not the only one with this problem :P
I know it’s my own fault for mapping it this way but I mapped left shift to dodge, which works out so perfectly for my fingers (also alt to jump) – but it sometimes gets me into trouble when it places skills into chat.
“[skill]aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssssssssssssswwwwwwwwwwwwww” = sigh
so i would definitely love to change the buttons used to link stuff.
Hoping for sometime in the next 3 hours, that way I will still be at work when the inevitable crash happens and they’ll have it fixed for me when I get home :P

I believe the dev post said that Guild Bounties missions would require guild levels attained from Art of War/WvW?
The dev was only referring to the first type of mission listed in the blog post , Guild Bounties. From this I gather at least some of the other mission types (Trek, Challenge, Rush, Puzzle) will come from other trees (Architecture, Economy, Politics)
(edited by rozcinana.7249)
Well… My small guild of 22 will be locked out of Bounties for a while since we have nothing yet invested in Art of War but I have decided not to panic, undoubtedly we will be able to access other missions through the different tech trees. Come on, Architecture and Economy! … and Politics soon!
(edited by rozcinana.7249)
I’d say try to talk to the leader first, share your concerns. But if he’ll no longer be active as you say, ask him to give the leader rank to someone else before he goes. Otherwise, if there are enough people unhappy with the direction of the guild you should vote for a new leader and start a new one.
aw, this is disappointing. Looks like my small pve guild is sol for a while on guild missions because we haven’t touched art of war yet, we’ve been focusing on maxing everything else first.

Once, I got 2 rares from the Weyandt’s Revenge JP chest in LA. That was pretty darn lucky!
