I no longer bother with the majority of world bosses. They bore me to bits tbh… My ecto gain is slower than the rest but I’d rather do something I think is fun. Not to say they aren’t fun for other people!
Yeah I know, that’s what the :P was for
I’ll take dat staff if you don’t want it. :P It’s one of the skins I’m hoping to get because most staves in this game are ugly. It drives me nuts that every single trident looks cooler than the staff in the same set. argh!
I’ve yet to be kicked from a dungeon and I do tons of pug dungeons. I realize that there are people out there that grief. I also think that it should take 3 votes instead of 2 to kick. However, if you’re getting kicked from every other dungeon, I think you need to objectively look at your performance and/or behavior.
I have pugged a lot of dungeons and IIRC I have never been kicked from a group. No offense meant to the OP, and this might not be the case at all in this situation, but some people don’t realize the way they communicate rubs other people the wrong way. It’s that or really bad luck rolling these pug groups.
Culling in LA has gotten more annoying now that titles show up on screen… twice as much text appearing out of nowhere.
I think I have 4 so far and will keep collecting them… but i keep looking over my shoulder… worried this is all part of a huge April Fools joke… Those new weapons in the pvp locker are so sweet and my first thought was we’d have a chance at them by reaching the end of the super adventure box. But what if all we get at the end are starter weapon skins?! Ahh! Regardless, this is all very exciting and I can’t wait to see what’s inside that box!!!
Renewed focus is sweet, I wouldn’t drop that for a utility… but I would on my elementalist.
I think the OP is talking about the expensive utility infusions which he/she cannot place on anything other than an amulet at this time.
+1
Completely support a toggle on/off for titles, or at the very least only show them when hovering over another character.
You can enter any instance by yourself or with two, but it does not scale down to cater to smaller groups/solo.
im not sure dungeons have any scaling with the number of players, they will always be the set designed for 5 player teams.
I do imagine that some at least would be possible with fewer depending on class and set up and personal CoF1 for instance could probably be done by many duo’s but I’ve never really tried and doubt many have as its generally not too hard to get a full team for most.
Some do have definite requirements, usually at least 3 people (CoE and some fractals come to mind)
CoF path 1 requires 5 people to complete due to the 4 brazier+ 1 gate controller part.
I wonder how often we can get the 3000 influence reward. I queued 2 of these up on Tuesday so we shall see in a few days…
I pretty much always default to the Ebon Vanguard staff. The rest are not that great. Imryldyeen/The Legend and the Peacemaker staff are nice but don’t fit with my color scheme. I would like to see more staves like those, less tribal or organic type designs.
I got 2 chests in the last couple of weeks, each had a rare in it. So they are still out there… But I still don’t get why they did this. If anything, you might miss your loot because the chests are harder to notice. Oh..
I agree it’s very much appreciated when people mention it is their first time because I don’t mind explaining the mechanics at all – I’m not in a major rush most of the time, and it saves everyone (especially the new player) a lot of frustration.
The staff looks nice from the screenshot but I likely won’t gamble for it.
It is a bug when they stay like that. Not sure how much of a priority it is to fix but seeing as how you are alone at the TP npc it looks like it’s making culling a lot worse.
I turned double tap off and rebound dodge to left shift pretty quickly after the game came out. That way I can comfortably press the wasd direction i want to roll and hit shift with my pinky. V was not at all comfortable for me to use in the middle of a fight.
I’ve had the same thing happen to me so I gave up on setting nicknames. I believe they reset with every server reset right now but I could be wrong…
I probably never would have even purchased the game if it had a monthly fee from the start… if they were to implement it, I would only pay a subscription if they lifted the various time gates and DR.
Story mode posting on gw2lfg.com are usually a lot more forgiving than some of the “experienced 80 only” type posts in the explorable sections. Let’s all try to connect over the next couple of days? I should be around pretty much every night and during the day as well on the weekend.
In the first few weeks of fotm’s release this was a majorly hated fractal but now many of us cheer when we roll it. Once you run it a bunch of times you’ll get good at it.
Hah, Cliffside was my guild’s official fractal for a while, too. Now my personal fractal stalker is Underground… woohoo…
I like this idea. I personally never do any open world farming so it would be a nice way to get a couple T6 mats each day outside the small chance from loot bags that I have now.
I run dungeons all the time but I have a few characters that still need to unlock many story modes so if you are on a NA server I’d be happy to join you on your quest! Add me to your friends list and shoot me a message if you’re interested. I’m usually around weeknights (central time zone) and a lot on weekends so hopefully that fits your schedule.
I think you’d be more likely to find a group for story mode at the entrance to the dungeon, or you can use gw2lfg.com – there you can make a posting specific to story mode and invite other people that are also looking to do that dungeon.
every single resource node has its model&label changed to “Rich Orichalcum Node”
…but still gathers the original mat.
lol, this would be pretty funny. I can’t wait to see what they come up with. April Fools was always so much fun in GW.
Wardens of the Flame is still offering an alliance for completing missions to another small guild on Yak’s Bend. Feel free to contact me if your group is interested!
Wiser, I have never heard that we could get anything other than rings dropping in fotm and I run it constantly. Where did you get this information?
I recommend to find a low population server if you’re going to be guesting for world events. Higher population servers are having a hard time with a lot of people already on the server flocking to those events, so adding more guests will send even more people into overflows, where more people will likely miss the event entirely.
You don’t need to guest to do dungeons as you can do those cross server with other people in NA. Check out gw2lfg.com to join a group or start your own.
Wardens of the Flame [fire] is a small but active Yak’s Bend guild that would like to offer an alliance to another small PvE guild out there (around 25 or less members) that needs assistance with completing guild bounties, and other mission types once we unlock them.
I’m not offering to absorb your guild, but to help each other out if needed. I believe in keeping guilds small if that’s what we want to do, but sometimes we need a few extra people to get things done. [fire] has a rank for Allies already set up so any of your members that would like to can join us on our missions, and in turn we would be able to join your guild as guests to help complete your missions. The alliance wouldn’t have to stop there, either – we are a friendly bunch always up for anything, so feel free to ask if you need help with dungeons, fractals, whatever.
So! If your small guild is interested in something like this, please send me a PM here or in game to discuss. Thanks for reading

My small guild has activated three T1 guild bounties so far. We were able to kill both bounties in time on two of those three attempts, with 10 people online each time, one of the teams had 4/5 under 80. We could have beaten the first bounty if we were more prepared for Bwikki’s mechanics, but now we know for next time. We don’t have the resources to pre-scout the bounties so it’s a mad dash and more challenging, but everyone had a blast doing them. We are looking forward to doing lots more!
We were pretty intimidated by the huge influence cost at first but decided to stick together and work for it as a small group rather than splitting up or being absorbed into a larger guild. Glad we did! It’s great to have something to do as a “big” (for us) group, it gets everyone on mumble together etc. We’ll be working toward Treks next but probably won’t go as hardcore with the influence purchases since we now have a way to get commendations.
So yeah, to all the small guilds out there – don’t be discouraged, keep at it and you’ll get there eventually if you haven’t already. Also if your small group ever needs assistance to complete your bounty feel free to send me a message in game. We’re happy to help!
I’d say crafting as well as dungeons. Some people will do most of the dungeon on their 80 then switch to an alt when the boss is almost dead to get the xp at the end. Each run gets you about 70 or 75% of your level, can’t remember the exact number. If she’s going to go that route it’s essential to make sure your party members are okay with it first, before you even start the run.
Also make sure the person who is on switches doesn’t attack the boss while he’s running them, as the bosses might sometimes run up the ramp and ruin everything… Superheated lasts for 30 seconds so that is the amount of time you have to get him from one bucket to the next. Make sure everyone is going in the same direction so you can control him easily. Few things more annoying in this game than people kiting him all over the place, throwing off his movement. Evading their aoe attacks is crucial, especially the ice ele’s since the agony stacks. Also I generally ignore the adds, always focus damage on the boss to get him down as fast as possible. Lastly, superheated makes your regular attacks do lots of damage – don’t bother with conditions as their damage doesn’t get boosted by superheated.
I might see an exotic drop once a week on average. I spend the majority of my time inside dungeons or fractals.
This sounds like a great idea! It makes sense for your personal karma to to contribute to your guild’s influence. I also think karma has limited usefulness to a large chunk of players so this would give it a nice boost.
Good thing I decided to check back in this thread Woohoo! More than happy to have ya. We’ll see you in game soon!
I also like the idea of influence scaling with fractal level. Good one, Derr!
Stay on Yak’s Bend, it’s the best server
Sent you a PM with some info about my guild!
I disagree with Jemmi. IMO we should get some influence for completing it whether you are in a full guild party or not, just like dungeons. Individuals currently get 10 for completing a dungeon, 100 if there are 3 or more guild members in the party. Due to the longer amount of time 1 full level of fractals takes compared to most other dungeon paths, I would suggest say 15-25 influence for an individual, 150-200 for completing it with at least 3 guildies in the party.
The only soulbound currency i can think of is karma, IIRC the rest are accountbound… or am I missing something?
Is too kitten long! You know it’s not a tough place but I have better kitten to do then listen to dredge squeek as I am forced to farm them for 45 minutes. Whenever it pops up, even if it is the 3rd fractal, I leave group. Am I a bad person?
Someone did that to my pug group the other day. We had a good laugh about it. It’s not that bad.
Ow ow ow ow! My dredge impression.
I may be wrong but nowhere in the OP did he talk about actually improving his skill, but it looks more like he decided to put out the appearance of being a “pro” and demanding this and that of other people despite his own lack of skill. JMO, again I might be wrong here…
I agree with the OP. It would be best if they would either make all ascended equipment available at each merchant (laurel, fractal, guild, etc.) if they want to keep a multiple-token system, or make one ascended item merchant that takes one type of token, and let us earn that token from all the different types of gameplay (giving us the opportunity to trade in our old tokens, which would become obsolete after a period of time)
I think the faster method is to farm (and/or play tp, whatever you do) for the money to buy the t6 mats you need.
I love Uncategorized, Cliffside and Urban Battlegrounds (raaaawwr!), both for cool design and gameplay.
I totally agree with the OP. It makes no sense that world boss events would give better loot than fractals. I’m into fractals for the challenge and that is my focus right now, but I would still appreciate some decent loot for my hard work vs standing around and auto attacking… a higher chance for rares in each fractal chest would be nice, and a chance at exotics that are not accountbound would be beautiful.
Wardens of the Flame [fire], a small but growing PvE guild on Yak’s Bend, is looking for more friendly, active members to join our ranks! Our members are very helpful if you are new to the game and always up for a challenge if you are into more difficult content. We currently do daily dungeon runs, fractals, exploring/leveling, dailies/monthlies and some casual WvW together. We have mumble.
[fire] is a small group so far, but we have an amazing community growing here full of dedicated and loyal members. Due to our hard work over the last couple of weeks, we are able to kick off Guild Missions this weekend! Our first Bounty mission is scheduled for Friday night with a second likely on Saturday for anyone that missed the first one. We hope you can join us!
Feel free to send me a PM here or whisper me in game if you have any questions or are interested in an invite. Thank you for reading
I think I’ve seen that multicolored Norn in an LA overflow once. It was something else.
annoyed? i actually get complimented on it more often than you’d think. personally i think it’s the best combination. orchid and maroon is nice too.
Great color combo in that screenshot, it’s all in the shades of blue and yellow that makes it work. On a side note, your Charr looks sort of like a Tengu from that angle and the armor… Aw, I want to play a Tengu character!

Everyone above covered it well. Remember to subtract the listing fee from projected profit when you are looking at the TP. In my experience the last couple of months, the majority of blues and greens won’t get you more money on the TP but low level white armor and some higher level white weapons tend to sell for more than the vendor price so always make sure to check those on the TP before you decide to salvage them or sell to vendor. All that said, I still recommend to quickly scan through your inventory on the TP sell screen before going to the vendor because you never know what’s worth something.
I agree on the SE weapons. I was really disappointed to learn they were only a red version of glyphic weapons. But I still like path 1 and 3.
