Norn don’t have better animations and both races have pretty nice heavy armor. So pick whatever, just don’t pick plant, rat or catbull.
Fractals is unrewarding… blabla… cry… blabla… Why did you start this thread again? There were a ton of other threads where you could have commented.
Whatever. Good day.
Well, i always thought she looked a bit like Daryl Hannah.
Fixing HOM does not generate a significant or relevant income, while adding hairstyles does
At the end its all about the money, which is why this bug is probably in the lower tier of priorities
Not fixing HOM also generates a lot of discontent, which will decide for many if they spend money on gems/support the company. They may be simple but not THAT simple.
He did not misread anything. Messiah claimed that “every meta build is pretty much counter by heavy condition pressure… MTD” to which he explained why you can MTD all you want, you won’t benefit your team at all because:
- In team fights, where there is a shoutbow or dd ele, the other team should have massive condi removal, so your pressure is negated.
- If you happen to try to solo a shoutbow or dd, it takes way too much time and you will probably not get them down anyway. Bottom line is, your team has no benefit from you.
This suggestion can not ever be implemented, due to what Veydar said.
As long as pressing 1 at world bosses, digging in the dirt or running around in frostgorge is more rewarding than content where you have to carry your weight, i don’t know what we expect.
“I’ll tell you what I told the Charr: fur burns, too!” – Gwen
I might add that it does not matter what colour it is.
Also it has happened in the history of online games that developers have “hit the mark” with a balance patch and a class that was said to be oh-so-bad suddenly became part of almost every meta in said game (mesmer in gw1 and panic).
So you should never base the decision which class to play on where they are in the “meta” right now, nor what some other people say about them.
Nothing keeps you from playing it for a bit, try out traits and mechanics in pvp and then decide for yourself. If you think that is a waste of your time, then play some other game because any class can fall out of the meta just as fast as they fell into it so telling you play X class wouldn’t work either.
I do not have a problem with the running animation but removing the idle animations was unnecessary. The way it’s been handled ever since speaks volumes.
Here we are, a month later……………..they added kittening hair. You kittening kidding me?
I doubt that the people designing new hairstyles are the same people fixing bugs. But I agree that it is sad that one month has passed without anything substantial happening. We don’t yet know how they will handle the problem or if they are even able to properly remove the titles and achievement points.
True, and i have to admit they’ve done better with the hair styles this time but if they would get the data which accounts have GWAMM, then they would have to filter those who don’t even have GW1 accounts linked, then the remaining ones would need to be checked for GWAMM in GW1. Finally those who do not have it in GW1 would have it deleted in GW2 (along with Champion of the Gods and any other title that was handed out).
That’s a lot of work and if it has to be done manually, well let the hairstylists look at some spreadsheets for a bit, i’m sure they can handle it.
Both elementalist and thief needs a lot of learning to be played properly and effectively in either game mode. I don’t see how they are any more “beginner friendly” than mesmer.
If anything, pick a warrior. In PvE you can hug your gs all the time and spam banners and people will love you. In PvP grab a shoutbow build and cleanse all day long and people will love you. In WvW kill stuff you can kill and run away from everything else with supreme mobility.
I would not subscribe to a game but i would also not play a game just because it does not have a subscription.
Well, the manifesto is true. Everything you love about Guild Wars 1 (minus the lore, most mechanics, features… the name remained anyway), combat IS more active, the event system is new.
My reasoning was that the same could be said for engineer, ranger and necromancer. So don’t base your decision of what to play on what pugs do. Also, it does not happen “all the time” as i have never been kicked from any pug or asked if i had another class, etc.
Perhaps the biggest disappointment I have with GW2 is that it is not more like GW… so, yeah, I regret that development was stopped on GW.
Of course it’s not. The biggest “issues” people had with GW1 were what made that game unique and fun. Arenanet solved those issues and made a game that does not resemble its predecessor at all.
What do you expect the experienced players to do? Of course they are going to flame the person who is in a venue they really aren’t skilled enough to be in.
That’s exactly why i tend to play hot joins lately. After thousands of ranked matches played, i really don’t want to watch the next 3 people rush the animal or camp home. At least i don’t expect anything in hot joins and can just leave without any further problems.
The big matchmaking fix patch last year ruined matchmaking completely.
Matchmaking should have distributed 1-1 mesmer and necro and 2-2 engis to the teams unless one was premade.
I miss some parts of it (not just features, but actual locations, atmosphere) and maybe if i had anything left to do in GW1 i would go back and do it. As it stands now there is no reason to repeat what i’ve done 8 times.
That’s because the “meta” is 2 eles, guard, thief, warrior and pugs try to imitate that. Also because these pugs are full of people who don’t know what any other class does besides theirs (which is generally a terrible thing, not knowing what your team mates can/can’t/are supposed to do).
I’m also pretty certain that most people don’t bother even thinking about how much “dps loss” they are dealing with when bringing something other than what they’ve read/heard is best. It’s negligible, unless you are really going for some speedrun records, which you won’t be doing as pug.
I remember when i was a brand new player (back at bwe 1), started with mesmer and played it ever since. I’m pretty sure there are others like that. I’m also pretty sure that if not for the mesmer class, i would not be playing this game anymore. For what? The other classes don’t really deserve to be mained.
Also, no dungeon parties kick mesmers for being mesmers, unless they already had one or were looking for other specific classes and you joined as mesmer (this is true for every other class though, if you are not what the lfg asked for).
So i would definitely start a mesmer to see how it is, in case you feel overwhelmed you can still reroll a warrior and spam 100b and be a banner-bot and have your fun.
ploink boink ching
Cha cha cha
Maybe the ressing people had aegis, stability or somesuch?
Come on, it’s SAB minis you are talking about. You are supposed to love them!
Of course, but remember when a lot of people left the game because of the ascended tier of items? I didn’t think that was a reason to leave, while others obviously thought so.
I agree with you fully that you cannot reason why you should or should not play a game. The point is, there are things that can kill your enjoyment and you cannot pick what these things are. If this fiasco and the way it’s being handled is killing your fun and you are faced with all the GWAMMs running about in-game that could be a reason why you’d end up not playing at all.
These are SAB minis, so just enjoy them and be happy.
Highly doubt A-net will do this… Remember the original flame kissed light armor skin? It basicly made it so that any race could wear Human T3 armor with a little bit of a flame particle. Many people, my self included bought it for that reason. The armor was then changed to it’s current graphic with gem refunds + apology bonus to those that requested it.
True, but if they would make everything available for everyone across the board… I still don’t see it happen of course. Just saying it would be a different matter than giving one set of one cultural to everyone else.
Oh i can easily see where Torvarren is coming from. The title is not the reason for playing nor is this bug a reason to not play. It’s the fact that some guildies mentioned they see a whole lot more GWAMMs running around since the bug. Every GWAMM (not just the legit ones) reminds you of this, it’s not easy to just let it go when A-net built this up years ago in GW1. You know, titles were a big part of PvE there. Then they made a game (GW2) where most titles don’t come close to GWAMM or most HoM titles.
So yes, here we are waiting for that promised fix “real soon”.
The posts by Hamfast.8719 are to the point and on par with my feelings about this issue and very nicely and politely stated … and this thread has a heap of views and comments … so why on earth is it so hard to just put the idles back in and then think about whatever cutscene mods later ? How many more people need to get out of just watching this thread and write a post – just like I do here – to make it obvious enough that is was a bad decision that removed something a lot of us loved ?
Because it has been classified as a bug for this very reason. It’s basically buried in here and it is being dealt with when there are enough resources.
WvW dailies, and sPvP ones (with the possible exception of class dailies) are made out of things that are being done by a significant majority of players of said game modes. Fractals aren’t such activity. In fact, i’m pretty sure that there are more PvP players that play a specific class than people that play fractals. Even when we consider the significant PvE-PvP population disparity.
We basically have days when not one, but two PvE dailies are dedicated to an activity that only a tiny minority of PvE players engage in. This doesn’t happen in WvW or sPvP daily categories.
Excuse me but which part of the game do fractals belong to if not PvE? I was under the impression we were dealing with high-end pve content right there.
Pretty sure you need to earn badges in WvW to be able to spend them for the big spender daily.
You get some badges from AP chests anyway, then you can spend 25 to get back 10 and get some APs which eventually earn you even more badges. Glorious.
Its a sought after vanity item. I don’t think you have a right to complain.
These allow people to personalize their toons to a more significant degree.
I have every right to complain, as does everyone.
To put my complaint in context, I am someone who has “invested” a considerable amount of money into this game (relative to the amount of time I’ve been playing it, so far).
So, it’s not like I begrudge ANet a living.
I just draw the line (and giggle, frankly) at one colour (and it is just a colour) being sold to us for 100s of gold (which is, after all, 10s of $/£).
Seems to me, any one colour should be no more than around 20g.
I think a luxury car should be no more than 5000$ because it’s laughable that some car makers ask hundreds of thousands of dollars for their high-end models. As someone who continuously invests a lot of time into work, i think it’d be only fair if these models became available in a price range that everyone can afford.
People who are arguing that it’s impossible to do the daily on the double fractal days are telling you that their emotions are not letting them do it.
Then they have to live with the fact that they miss those 10 APs for that day. It was a choice they made after all.
The logic that defends these dailies is bizarre. ‘You can’t finish your daily without doing something you don’t like, but some of those things are easy so that makes it OK’.
The idea is to pick which dailies you do. You CAN finish your dailies without going into fractals, so the logic you mentioned is flawed.
Both WvW and SPvP players can easily do their dailies always without dipping into PvE. Why PvE players should be encouraged to move to PvP for their dailies? There’s a double standard here at play.
There is no double-standard at play.
Just look at it from a PvP player’s point of view. They have 2 daily class wins, every day. They are forced to change to a class they might not want to play at all, just to grab the 10 APs.
WvWers have it easier i suppose, yet i’m sure they also have dailies that they have to actively seek out. Maybe on the offensive all day long, no objective defender or running with a big zerg, so no ruin capper. Or a roamer not able to capture a keep.
She’s glowing because of the residual radiation in the thaumanova reactor. She’s been doing the fire elemental recently.
At minipet in the cutscene is better than the Guild Wars 1 cutscenes. Those managed to have creatures in there that would kill you. For example, Necromancer minions might attack your char in the cutscene and you would be unable to fight back because…. It’s a cutscene. It wasn’t unknown for these creatures to kill you. This was especially aggravating for those trying for the Survivor title because those deaths counted and they used to have to delete their char and start completely over again.
There would be cutscenes where your char was standing there talking while a minion was standing beside you hitting you and you just knew that your char was going to be dead when the cut scene ended.
It’s funny how the same reasoning didn’t mean jackkitten when brought up about the other “immersion breaking” thing. I just hope the devs are aware that we are aware of what they are doing.
If a giggling doll or nude Faren is fine and funny during cutscenese, i would say a stretching Kasmeer was too. And vice versa, if stretching was too much then go ahead and remove minis until we figure out a way to do this.
Hmm…
The female human idle animations were supposedly (temporarily) removed from the entire game because they were immersion breaking during some cutscenes.
I guess they need to remove all mini pets from the entire game now until they can fix this horrific problem!
(When are we getting those back, Gaile? As you can see, everybody thinks these minipet intrusions are cute and fun. PLEASE restore the female human idle animations!)
It’s weird how that works, right?
As Fade said it, you have to get out of the mentality of “i found this on metabattle and i’m following it to the letter” and look (and ask) what the party members that are relevant are running (is the warrior PS? is the other ele might stacking?).
Try to look at the party as an entity and ask yourself how can you help that whole better?
Oh my, we have to skip everything in order to make it as efficient as possible.
That is why i suggest every time you feel like doing a dungeon, you skip the whole thing and just stay idling in LA (or where your “base of operations” is).
I still not sure why OP complaining this ?
Because in case of a daily fractal and a daily fractals level 1-10 for example you have no other way in PvE to get your 10 achievement points for the daily, you have to enter fractals.
The thing that boggles my mind is, if OP does not mind doing a fractals for the daily, then why bring it up? You can get your 10 APs anyhow.
I’m ok with the current dye system. It’s pretty neat.
Have a nice day!
I could and generally i do, but sometimes i have to change when others in my party/team have the same class and won’t or can’t change.
There are no high level daily fractals. There’s maybe something like 21-30 from time to time.
I did the story together with my friends and we were all disturbed with how dark things had gone. It was clear a lot of build up and effort went into making this as dramatic and serious as possible, what with using themes like torture and tragic destiny. And then we all burst out laughing when my mini was just chilling in the foreground.
Another reason I can no longer take gw2 story seriously at all (and no desire to be invested in it after so much pointlessly cruel character death instead of development. Oh, another seemingly interesting character is killed three missions after they’re introduced? You don’t say…).
Exactly. It’s quite horrible and ruining ALL immersion for the story. Not sure how such a crucial bug can be allowed to exist.
Kitten it guys, stop using kittening swear words in pvp. You’re kittening others off. Be kitten polite or just don’t kitten start the kitten queue. Even if kitten things are kittened beyond repair, just stay kitten calm and …. kitten.
That breaks my immersion.
Did I play the immersion card right?
This should really be fixed as soon as possible. In that particularly moving moment the last thing i want to see is Faren’s kitten or a laughing doll or a flea-infested gryphon toy.
Classify it as bug, remove minis as long as there is enough resources to create a system that allows turning minis on and off in cutscenes.
I don’t think they should balance/delete turret engis, but i believe they should make it so that turrets are like spirits were in GW1.
For those who don’t know, you could not have more than one of the same kind of spirit within a certain range, if you summoned another one it simply killed the previous one. They also took 5 seconds to summon in pvp.
I’d say with the above limitations teams would make sure they don’t have duplicate turret engis and eventually they would become a far less prominent problem.
It’s ok, they have done similar things. You bought the coin for SAB, you used it several times. You assumed there would be new worlds later, you assumed. You won’t get a refund for assumptions.
