Glint’s dye kits have been re-added to the Black Lion chests.
Indeed, i gave it a lot of thought and couldn’t come up with much of use. I know that at this point if they would turn skins obtainable by pristine or normal relics, they would come up with numbers that would not bother me since they have to keep it realistically achievable for fractals-newcomers as well.
I don’t actually want to hug my 75k relics after all.
That’s essentially gold, if you know how and find a good promotion.
Anet should update the fractal rewards though, since it’s getting a bit out dated.
I know but i’m still hoping Arenanet finds a good use for relics and not just skill points.
Then stay away from it and enjoy your pvp reward tracks. Nobody should feel forced to do something in their free time.
Dungeons, silverwastes, etc. are better gold/time ratio, but they don’t feel more rewarding when my brain starts to evaporate due to boredom (i can do a few dungeon sweeps but after 2-3 days it’s just a drag). Fractals on the other hand is still fun and rewarding for me.
Now i think you should be able to use fractal relics for more things, buy more things with them. This would immediately make fractals more rewarding (think of how we use dungeon tokens to get ectos, silk, inscriptions, insignias). I don’t actually want to hug my 75k relics after all.

Maybe a side-effect of the “soon-to-be-reworked” condition stacking engine at work.
What i mean by that is, if the new system is already implemented but still capped at 25 in the world outside of the beta, it could cause some lag i assume.
If it’s not, then i don’t know but it should be fixed because it has not been there before the HoT closed beta patch.
They should really fix the floating face problem (maybe turn the section of lava under the face black or add some neck?) because right now it’s all clone troopers or pseudo-robocops with faces stuck to lava.
I ran the game just fine with SweetFX about an hour and a half ago.
It’s a problem i’ve noticed with the permanent self-style kit too. Just use a tonic right after using the kit (or when you disappear) and then turn back into normal immediately.
Honestly, if you twisted and turned your camera just to find the right (or wrong?) angles, then what did you expect?
It’s not a bug. It’s been classified as a bug so as to bury it in the bug forums.
Or at least that’s the only conclusion that comes to mind after this long.
I think the best course of action would be to temporarily disable brooms, mesmers and human females until the devs have time to fix this.
We are getting free armour sets now, so why complain about them selling outfits?
because we like the outfit designs but feel like it is wasted awesome design if it cant be mixed and matched!
If you like the outfit designs then go ahead and use them.
So no, GW2 is not about skins, unless you the player decide to ignore the vast array of content available.
And that is exactly why we see so many players in simple dungeon/crafted/wvw gear and dyes are cheap and nobody is using any expensive weapons. Nowhere. Not in pve, pvp or wvw.
Maximizing might, maxing vuln, using blocks/reflects efficiently and everything melts away. Take the time to look up [KING] on youtube and see how they burn through fractals regardless of the selection. Painbow even has a convenient link in his sig.
I wish more people would watch their fractal videos then maybe I wouldn’t get so many yolo phiw people when i do pug.
You forget that they skip everything remotely skippable, which also shaves off a considerable amount of time.
We had a warning about these vanishing. That is how i got mine.
What i really don’t understand is how people can play a game and have so obviously no sense of fun whatsoever. What are you playing a game for if you can’t have fun? Silly, waste-of-time, irrational fun. No efficient farming, minmaxing, meta builds, grind gold, level up by crafting, speedclear dungeons.
Just spread your wings and fly. If you cannot smile about this, you might as well just not play games.
Some people like it. It was funny when I logged in til I realized that the pvp and wvw maps and dungeons were also like it.
PvP was excluded, no matches had the april fools effect. None of it.
My bunny ears are awesome and i’m wearing them in every pvp match and in wvw while bunnily stomping errione. Mwahahaha.
I don’t really see why… It’s easy enough to kill one full turret engi. The really annoying engis run grenades, toolkit and slick shoes.
For fun (because dungeons are boring) and for that last elusive skin.
Keep hopping all you earless bunnies.
Btw, you just lost the quarry.
Just equip two incinerators, turn down dialogue volume and make the FWOOOSH sound yourself (in real life).
Can’t do much about the “wing” angle though.
I played my whole gaming time yesterday with sound on like always. VROOOOOOM, BRRRRR, NEEEEEEEEUUUUUW…. and when you stop: BLLLRB
Hilarious
Bringing back SAB would be really nice. Everyone asking for it would swarm it, get bored of it really quickly, not go in there anymore after a few weeks at most.
But then at least we’d have kittening silence about it.
Oh, the Humanity!!!!!
Why do you care whether someone has “earned” it? This isn’t a job, its a game. Does someone else getting a fairly meaningless, grind based title for free somehow de-value the time you may have personally expended into getting it?
Assuming you played GW1, and legitimately got the GWAMM title, then what is the problem if others got it for nothing? They didn’t get to experience the thousands of hours of gameplay (and presumably fun) that you did in that game.
You can stop with the passive aggressive posts. You don’t have to keep repeating yourself, the problem is that your justifications are meaningless. Repeating them doesn’t change that fact. Jealousy is a stinky cologne my friend.
So, years ago, when Anet announced they’d make GW2, they also said that you won’t be able to play your GW1 chars but you will be able to “show your legacy” by filling up your HoM. Thus tens (hundreds) of thousands of players have started checking out their HoM and what they need to fill it up. The entire economy changed almost overnight, what was in the HoM would shoot up in price while other things suddenly became cheap.
Then GW2 came out, we had received a few purely cosmetic things for this (titles, skins, pets) and nobody cared. Doesn’t matter if you used your GWAMM or Closer to the Stars, Legend of the Mists, Fiery Dragon Sword or whichever GW1-related goodie, it showed that you played that game.
Fast-forward a few years, Anet gives the same things to people who have not been there, have no clue what all that is, have never seen GW1. While this is not a game-breaking bug (neither are those bugs you mention in your other post, as some classes have been running around with bugs for 2.5 years now and we learned to live with it), this is definitely something that invalidated the efforts of those people who have gotten it the traditional way.
I am in no way jealous that they have gotten these for free, i don’t know where you got that from. But Anet came up with this system to give something to their GW1 players in their new game, then they’ve hit this system with a wrecking ball now.
Nowhere did i say that Anet should not fix other bugs as well, but they should not put this issue on the backburner.
You keep repeating that this does not give gameplay advantages. Sure, it does not, neither do weapon and armor skins, yet somehow i doubt that you are running around in the simplest looking gear with pearl weapons.
Because you don’t see it, it must not be there? Perception is not reality. Just because the times you play and the places where you play do not have players abusing chat channels or other players is irrelevant. It happens, period.
The question going forward is what the playerbase can do to help Anet clean it up. For starters we can report the infractions more often versus simply blocking the person. As another poster admitted: he feels he had the right to use offensive language. Wrong. Players with mindsets like this have to be given consequences for their misdeeds and it starts with other players making Anet aware.
It’s funny because your reality depends on your perception…. And i am on a LOT and i am in a LOT of different zones and game modes still for some weird reason i am not seeing all that insanely offensive chat that you are talking about.
But you also pointed out that this is not their daddy’s garage. Well, it’s not. It’s also not grandma’s tea party. It’s a community made up of all kinds of different people (different ages, different cultures) and all of them have to learn to live with each other (just like in real life).
Besides, just because you are not using swear words, you can still insult someone more than a dozen F words.
Sure if someone is abusive and offensive and just obnoxious in map chat, you can and should report them but you should also have your tolerance level set to something higher than zero.
To have some information about why it’s shut down for now, read this:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Instant-God-Walking-Amongst-Mere-Mortals/first
This one – and its counterpart – should work like the Ellen Kiel/Evon Gnashblade support tokens. Right now if you are downed, change maps, etc. you lose the effect whereas the support tokens stay with you even after changing chars (when you come back to the char it was activated on, it will still have it).
So change these to that kind of consumable.
In a PvP environment everyone on the enemy team will be trying their best to kill you… Rest assured, they will be a pain in the nuts to fight regardless which class they are playing.
Engineers will drown you in CC’s, conditions, grenades, SLICK SHOES.
Guardians will stay on you like a bloodhound, cleanse condis, heal for 2k with each meditation, have an absurd amount of blocks.
Thieves will jump on you and then if you happen to hit them back, stealth away just to come back and kick you in the nuts.
You’ll think you have that ele dead in a few moments and then… oh water attunement, back up to 80% hp.
Rangers will pepper you with arrows from insane range and when you are done closing the gap they’ll try to entangle you and if you manage to pressure them they can pop invulnerability or switch to gs and block (or sword/x and evade like a boss). Or stealth away with LB 3….
You’ll notice that each of these has the potential to be a pain in the behind to fight, but you cannot ask other people to run dumb builds that do not bring the best out of their respective classes just because you want easy kills.
I hate to say it but L2P.
Some of the posts here make it look as if map chat was full of some kind of immature or offensive comments. A cesspool of swear words and sexual jokes. That’s just not true.
What i find weird is that most of those who said this was the case have map chat turned off… so you don’t even know if it’s true or not. It is not true.
Honestly, i hate people who use “lol” and “:P” all the time. Maybe someone should do something about those (a perma ban might be in order).
Do you complain that people with an Incinerator can use the wardrobe to make it look like they have TWO Incinerators, even though they DIDN’T EARN IT!?!1 Why do you care?
If your enjoyment is wrapped up in what other people have, then you’re going to have a bad time.
I already wrote this but i guess i have to write it again. I don’t care what others have as long as they have earned it. Not sure why the concept is so hard for you to grasp.
Also, the incinerator example was terrible as some of those who made two before the wardrobe were quite upset that they made two while others can just use the wardrobe to look the same way. And they weren’t happy with the twice-told legend and 25AP solution either.
End of the day, why don’t we let the professionals decide?
Why don’t each of you who see offensive chat report it and let the moderation team make a decision about the overall offensiveness of a word or phrase in the context of the game. The team is not draconian, they understand the difference between a word spoken in the heat of the moment and a pattern of abusive language. Report and forget and trust that things will be taken care of in the best and more fair manner possible.
Because i happen to know someone who was forced to change their character names when there is absolutely nothing offensive about them. So if there is an actual professional moderation team at work, why are they not professional enough to spot the difference between offensive/insulting/inappropriate and normal?
And no, the names in question are not – in any way – inappropriate.
Haha, I play a Mesmer with Moa. Everytime I Moa someone, they almost always say some pretty rude things. I guess people don’t like being turned into… chickens.
Every time someone uses Moa on me in 1v1, I think they must be pretty desperate. There’s nothing better than pecking someone to death.
I keep people saying that. Does it ever work? Because every time someone runs at me and tries to peck me to death, i can kill them but if they run away, they might just survive.
I’ve noticed this a long time ago. Previously you would be safe if you ran behind the lich but after being shot to shreds i realised it was not viable anymore.
GW2 is my FAVORITE game – it’s top notch above any other MMO on the planet, but I’m sick and tired of all the nasty, sexual comments, all of the constant cussing and belittling other players on every map. I shouldn’t have to mute my Say and Map chat. Why should these people who do such things rule chat? There’s no end of the constant vulger language, cruel and hateful speech, and constantly, openly talking about sex.
Just where/when/how do you play this game? Are you playing the same game? Map chat being full of nasty, sexual comments and constant cussing? What?
This directly affects everyone playing either game (GW1 or GW2) and i can only hope they won’t do something similar to something you care about but won’t be fixed because it’s not a priority.
I was unaware that displaying the GWAMM title gave you +10% damage in PvP. Yeah, ANet should so get on the ball and fix this bug which affects everyone by giving a concrete gameplay advantage to those cheaters.
So i assume i have to explain it for those who didn’t get it the first time.
The problem itself may not affect everyone, the way it is being handled affects everyone.
Just like others have shown good examples here, and since you brought up PvP… What if next time thousands of people would get the Champion Brawler title for entering the Heart of the Mists?
SAB weapons make no sense, half the legendaries make no sense, etc. A katana looks elegant and is no oversized, overdone, too shiny weapon.
Nobody kicks people for no reason, there is always a reason. If 3 people voted for kicking you, well… either you did something or 3 people actually wanted to steal your instance and you can still report them if that actually happened.
And no, legit players are not punished by this, dungeon sellers are far more likely to be affected by it.
You got kicked. Oh my god what a disaster.
Problem is not players or lfg. Problem is arena net destroyed instance owner so you are never safe from being kicked. Dunno who they wanted to punish but as always nothing good came from it.P.S. what was lfg description for this party?
The instance owner fix was necessary because previously if the instance owner crashed, lagged out and couldn’t return in time or simply left, the whole group was kicked from the instance. It’s not a “punishment” it’s a fix that should have been done that way from the beginning.
Roll back the servers? Are you kidding me? Don’t let other people’s AP numbers and a title over their character head be the cause of every other player losing progress since the last patch.
You people really need to get your priorities straight if a few extra people passed you in Achievement points. It’s not a duplication glitch of precursors or anything drastic. No ones getting infinite Karma.
This does not directly effect anyone who doesn’t exploit this bug, just a few insecure people might be kittened off, but oh well! Let’s cry and smash our keyboards while we are at it. Why not make the issue even more blown out of proportion than it already is!
Roll back the servers… wow. I shake my head. I better ask my brother to give me half his paycheck because he gets paid more than me and does less work.
You really don’t get it, do you? It’s not about how other people pass you by with achievement points or that they got some title… The point is that they got THIS title, which requires time and effort to get in GW1. They got it undeserved and everybody who plays/played GW1 and got this title or is working towards it feels rightfully upset and just kittened on by Anet.
This directly affects everyone playing either game (GW1 or GW2) and i can only hope they won’t do something similar to something you care about but won’t be fixed because it’s not a priority.
Also, if you and your brother work at the same company, in the same job and he gets paid more than you for less work, would you NOT be upset???

They should stop selling paths. Will they? No, because people are buying the paths.
But why can’t they tell us that they need some time if they do? I sadly get the feeling they will just remain silent about it and hope that people will forget about it or stop complaining :/
They did say, in this very thread.
the devs are aware of this issue and it has been and is being taken care of.
That is a standard line Gaile uses whenever she cannot say anything tangible but the masses have to be calmed.
If they’re all me, then “i” would bring a sacrifice to help myself by being shattered because that’s just the hero i am… I guess?
I get that the discussion is about the philosophy of the locked traits, and no offense but new players won’t need the meta builds right away.
Even if they get the meta builds, people who have thousands of matches under their belt will obliterate them just because they have a lot more experience.
Besides, you are talking about highest level… a person just buying the game won’t be competing at the highest level, not for some time.
Just a side note: your cousins should reconsider playing all survival ranger because that team comp might not work.
If you get ticked off by builds, don’t pug.
Don’t have to pug to find someone using off beat builds, Nyx’s post made that pretty evident, no? We’re just posting what we hate to see is all.
Sorry, i wasn’t aware of this being another “laugh at noobs and pat on our backs for being awesome” thread. Carry on.
If you pvp regularly, you should be swimming (drowning) in charges.
In a typical boxed expansion, the majority of the repeatable content is in the form of dungeons/raids. Generally for a $40 expansion you will get 8-10 dungeons with 8-10 additional hard modes, and 2-3 raids. These dungeons are generally what keep people playing the content as they search for new gear and master the encounters…
Is there an equivalent in HoT? What will keep us playing after we finish the story 2-3 weeks in?
I just haven’t seen any info on this, i’m sure it is somewhere, but I can’t find it.
M8 this is (guild wars2) forum. There is no raids or expert dungeons here… Did you misstype something?
They promised us PVP MMO woth some PVE content, but after 3 years, i didnt see any PVP or even PVE content. Just boring grind… There is no raids or expert dungeons.
3 years after launch this game does not even have a pvp (only 1 buggy stupid, boring and unbalanced conquest mode).
GW2 have best graphic, i think best engine also but… worst pvp and pve developer team ever…
WoW and Rift are much better and interesting game, they got endgame content and few diferent pvp modes… We got good graphics, they got pvp&pve endgame + alot of fun…
GW2 developers can write bestseller “How to ruin the best opportunity – 101”.
Alternate reality much?
