You need only one of each tier cultural for the emperor title. So even if you got the title, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have every armour weight cultural piece unlocked.
Everybody knows that that lying fleabag of a merchant bought all of the votes that he actually got.
Nobody would vote for him on their own accord since he takes 15% of our hard-earned money for providing his “services”…
People should know how well they can play the class that they want to get the daily with. If it’s a class they are not familiar with, getting the daily in hot join (practice) is a really good solution.
This is also true for people who still think that going for the animal at start is a good idea or going for the lord 2 minutes into the game is a valid tactic.
Going into ranked arenas and then not knowing how to play your class or how to act on certain maps and then expecting people to smile and be civil when you just knowingly ruined their match is pretty optimistic.
Bottom line is, before you queue answer honestly “can i contribute to the upcoming match or will i just mess around?”.
Your server choice only matters in World vs. World. You can do everything else together.
So basically turret engi is easy to kill to all of the above top tier players but it takes too much time and effort and as such it has to be removed.
I’ll admit to being wary of other dungeon runs featuring necros and rangers and it’s a bit of a lottery. But higher lvl fractals are usually a safer bet
I wish this were true for me too.
Pugging fotm is ebola compared to dungeons because unlike dungeons, it actually kinda matters whether or not you have people with clownshoes equipment/traits to get the stuff done without it being really annoying.
I’m never wary of necros/rangers in my runs as much as I am with eles/warrs/mesmers/guards. So many s/d signet of restoration camping eles, GS+rifle warriors, staff guards, and GS mesmers trolling runs. It happened so frequently that as a result I’ve completely given up the notion of pugging higher level fractals ever being a good idea and haven’t done it in maybe 2+ months at least, maybe more.
Really am baffled at the number of people who post on here saying higher level fractals are safe with pugs. Either I’m extremely unlucky or maybe it’s just a matter of us having different standards. xD
Maybe so. As long as the run does not take long and we aren’t wiping i consider that smooth and couldn’t care less how others play (let them do their thing).
Our guild runs are still better of course but that happens when you play a lot together.
The whole lunar new year is basically dragon ball. Who cares?
I’d say it’s a well-known bug because it appears on a lot of light pants.
Instead of the totally unnecessary cannon phase she could just regain her captain’s shield at every 25% hp lost but no, we need this “fun” mechanic where you have to avoid bugged aoe circles artificially increasing the time taken to finish the boss fight.
These dumb bosses that just go through their 75%, 50%, 25% hp cycle are really boring. Why not make bosses that behave differently based on what players do? For example: put down a reflect > boss does not use projectiles but some other skill instead. Or bosses/mobs that rip boons, use reflects, get out of AoE, have their own dodges, blind…
Why are people corner stacking? Because the same people who are now advocating killing bosses on spawn points have uploaded videos where they have pulled bosses into corners.
It does not matter where you kill the boss, it’s still the same stupidly easy mechanics with slower-than-turtle attacks that are designed to be dodged easily regardless where you stack.
Stacking elsewhere does not make dungeon fights any more fun or engaging.
Every time you sign up for unranked you take a risk that skyhammer, spirit watch or courtyard will pop up. You click that button knowing that. If a map you hate happens to come up, at least have the decency and try your best to win.
If you do not want to play those maps, you have the option to play ranked. Click on that and stop complaining.
No 10-person raids. But no more open world nonsense either. Silverwastes and co. are nice for brain afk farming but they offer little engaging content. Huge open world boss fights are not “raids” as such, and while the game is going that way, i have to say it’s a pity.
I’d love to see interesting 5 man instances, hell yes.
Maybe if we claim it ruins our immersion, they will fix it promptly.
Skyhammer is not as bad as it used to be, now that you can dodge the cannon. It’s still better than courtyard.
If you want to avoid it, play ranked.
If you are 1v1 vs. a turret engi, go elsewhere and win by holding the other 2 points. Otherwise focused fire by more than one person makes short work of them.
Your own fault for making asura (or charr, or whatever animal).
oh yea right… we all should only make human females. Sorry my bad.. how could i even dare to think about making anything but human females >_>
Well no, you can make a human male, or just deal with the fact that you have clipping. Just like every other race does. They all do have clipping/glitching issues.
I think it would be better to just remove fiery greatsword altogether, since eles are apparently completely unviable without it (based on the above comments). So then ele players could go on and roll a bearbow and feel appreciated.
18/19… i’ll get that last one someday
Unless something really changes I think im packing up my bags and going to Smite.
I’d ask you for your stuff but you probably don’t have anything, based on the fact that all you do is stand around in the heart of the mists.
I bet people who say “if i cannot mix and match, i won’t buy it no matter how good it looks” are those i see with terribly mismatched creations that make them unique at least.

By playing 6 hours per day (not being afk in LA) and not spending, you should be sitting on thousands of gold in a year’s worth of playing even if you never get exotics worth over 1g.
He won’t fully heal up the 25% lost but you shouldn’t let him reach the villager anyhow.
This whole kicking is mostly a problem of sellers and they are operating in a gray area. So yes, if you are selling dungeons you are taking a risk. Arenanet isn’t going to rework the instance system just to make selling safe when they obviously don’t endorse it in any way.
Are you seriously serious about this?
The point of pvp is not the dailies… The point is to kill your opponents and help your team reach 500 points before the other team does.
Ah for those who did not forget, remember the time when we could do fractals level 80 with almost no AR? Ahh the good times when skill prevailed over gear (or hammer guardians)!
But nope, now we have scripted agony.
This. Anet promised no-grind, purely skill based end game. There was a ring of truth to it, until they did this.
You mean you bugged and glitched your way up to 80. As there was no proper way to go that high. Everybody who went to 80 knew they were doing something that worked only due to an oversight by devs. But of course you can call it “skill”.
The whole problem is non-existent, since you get ascended chests drop in every area of the game, you are not required to craft it.
You’ll probably win the Powerball jackpot before you get one of those. Good luck.
Thanks, i’ve equipped two characters with those and have additional 2 dozen sitting in my bank.
Uh huh. Is ‘every area of the game’ fractals by chance? Because if you do anything outside of fractals? Yeah, you’re both wrong and hilarious. In factals, sure.
Running around out in the world? Doing world bosses? Killing mobs? Doing dungeons?
NNNNNNNNOPE, swing and a miss. You’re either mistaken in what you mean by ‘every area of the game’ or you’re lying through your digital teeth.
By every area of the game i mean the weapon chests i got from pvp, the armor chests i got in wvw and sure also in pve.
The point being that you don’t have to grind for anything, just do whichever part of the game you like and you will get to your goal without pressure or feeling bored.
Now if you absolutely have to have something really quickly (not sure for what you would need ascended/legendary immediately), then of course there is an optimal method and you have to do it that way. But that’s your choice and you cannot cry “grindy” if you chose the grind.

Hold your horses there buddy, I don’t mean to nit pick or anything but you didn’t have to do underword/fow for ecto & shards, you could go farm some place for gold and buy them off the merchant, that’s how I got my first Obsidian Armor I farmed all over the place, constant farming up and down (solo) beckon’s perch to droknar’s forge in hard mode, it got so bad I had to buy a 2nd account and bring along my other account to haul the goods back to the merchant.
It may have been a grind took many hours to clear the maps but it was a challenge! you left the portals with a feeling of anticipation and excitement can I really make it that far with my 55.
You can do exactly the same in GW2, you can farm gold in any game mode in any area and buy whatever you need.
That’s the carapace chest piece. The new one from the Vinewrath.
I’m patient. I don’t need everything today. Maybe because I’m not a kid anymore. I don’t need to farm for a legendary. I play the game and eventually, I’ll get something I need for it and squirrel it away. Why do I need a legendary today? How does that change the game for me?
This should be stickied somewhere so that there is less complaining about “grind”.
GW grind is not even on the same galaxy as the grind in this game, buddy. Not to mention that farming whatever content in GW heydays usually meant making/using ingenious builds in an unorthodox manner, so it was not exactly a mind-numbing experience. It was actually rather challenging to farm for whatever with a build you’ve made yourself, or looked it up, but more often than not, and depending what you chose to go after, farming was rewarding, because not all high-end items had a 0,00000…1% drop chance, and a single mo/nec duo run to UW would net a few ecto minimum.
Karla please remove the pink glasses when it comes to GW1. The grind in GW1 was more real than in GW2 because you had no choice what you did to get something. For example, if you wanted to get ectos, you had to do the underworld, if you wanted obsidian shards, you had to do FoW. Also running every dungeon with 8 A/x with the same 4 first skills was hardly ingenious, if anything it was more dumb because half of your team’s skills were exactly the same.
It’s one thing if you are upset about ascended gear being present but it’s actually only required for one single instance (fractals 50) and since doing fractals 50 is not really worth doing since you get more gold from AC in less time, there is no real advantage there.
Also, following the same “no grind” policy, you can get ascended gear from any part of the game PvP, WvW and PvE without ever crafting anything.
Can we get these animations back in some timely manner please?
Breaking immersion is obviously not a problem since miniatures are happily laughing/swinging swords/doing whatever in the cutscene where Caithe kills Wynne and is weeping for her.
Please devote some resources to fixing this, since enabling the animations shouldn’t take more developer time than removing them did.
Thank you.
The design team seems to operate based on the credo “LEGO swords all the way”. This goes for greatswords as well.
We don’t need arenas. If you are unable to learn how to play a 3-point conquest with a 5-person team then go to wvw where you can experience “pure battle” or just vote for courtyard all the time.
Mainhand pistol and maybe warhorn.
NO shortbow…
In my experience fractal 50 pugs are reliable and know what to do in there.
Generally you don’t get to level 50 in fractals without having acquired the necessary knowledge/gear and patience.
Human. Always.
I’d say everything is working as intended. Farming that area is already rewarding enough by giving you gold in form of crafting materials and rares (or ectos if you salvage them). Ascended chests should have a much higher chance of dropping in more challenging content (like fractals lvl 50).
