Bad idea : using a single 1h weapon you lose on the bonus stats from the offhand weapon.
What’s it matter who owns them?
The fact is, if someone is willing to pay 500g (or whatever) for something, then that is the correct price for it. If one person is buying them and selling them for a higher price, then they are simply correcting a too low price.
This only works in a fluid market without much monopoly going on. There so little of each precursor going on and the number of sales are so low, and with the market manipulation there is kind of a monopoly in the sources of them that their current price isn’t their correct price.
Hard to test since Sigil of Impact doesn’t seem to be available in the mists :/
The problem of the thief is that the heals are FAR too powerful in this game and the glass canons far too fragile.
Would have been better if ANet went all the way to remove the trinity by removing the healers instead of making every class a healer and balanced through that. Bunkers would all be far less dangerous if they only got their toughness to mark them as bunkers and couldn’t plain outheal the damage of most classes. Thieves wouldn’t need the ability to burst down someone in 0.5s to be viable.
the only auto-defense the mesmer has is mirror of anguish, and is easily countered by D/P thieves ( new thief fotm) with a single head shot at the start of the fight, in order to avoid to have your basilisk venom reflected to you.
It tends to give away the thief presence a little to do that XD
Once his presence is revealed, a 0.5s reaction time to get out of the burst isn’t hard. Stun break and dodge at the same time.
A good RNG is unfair by design. For every player that gets the two ascended rings he wanted in two dailies, you’d get as many if not more that got no ring at all after 20 dailies.
Some player gets Dawn in his first Mystic Forge try, others never get one. A good RNG guarantees this will happen given enough “tries”. So you are guaranteed to have some kitten off players down the line.
Which is why “smart” game developers design the RNG in a way that everyone profits somewhat by reducing the spread between “best reward” and “worse reward, if there’s a reward at all”.
Shortbow skill 1 is replaced by a weak immobilize arrow while in stealth. Ergo, the thief wasn’t in stealth when he attacked you. Must be a case of culling going wrong.

Backstab damage doesn’t need to be reduced. The damage output on CND needs to be inverted so the damage (and hit detection for the stealth) happens at the beginning of the CND, not the end.
How easy this is to fix.
I’d love to get such a HUGE buff to C&D. I’d be that much easier to land it. And you’d only need to do Mug => C&D => Backstab to do the combo instead of using F1during the C&D cast.
I do my dodging daily once by fighting Embers and voluntarily dodging right into the fire font they create. I heard it’s even better if you get those flame thrower wielding charrs and dodge while they spray it at you. You can easily get 7-8 “dodges” per dodge.
“Tons of numbers” is probably a bad case of reflecting tons of projectiles.
Not seeing tons of numbers is your opponents getting wiser at last and not attacking you with projectiles while you are doing Dagger Storm
In GW2 pvp outcome is 99% skill 1% gear.
Especially because there are diminishing returns (especially on power).
Check your character sheet while in WvW.
The only DR in this games are in loots and dungeon rewards.
GW2 dungeon boss fights needs some real tank builds that do no DPS and enrage timers on all bosses. That should be the first stage to make them more interesting.
Reduce Backstab damage by 35%, front damage improved by 35%.
Funny, with your changes, a back placed Backstab will only do a tiny more damage than C&D. As this point the thief would be better of casting C&D so that it lands after stealth ends rather than face the revealed debuff.
Let’s not even talk about the Initiative regen nerf.
Exactly. It’ll go from “LFG 4 WARRIORS UBER QUICK RUN SKIPPING EVERYTHING” to “LFG 3 WARRIORS AND A THEIF UBER QUICK RUN SKIPPING EVERYTHING MUST HAVE SHADOW REFUGE”.
Short of making stealth unusable in dungeons, nothing they can do really. Perhaps if they made it so killing mobs was worth it, skipping wouldn’t be a problem.

From what I see, thief can do 3 things more or less exclusively :
- Shadow Refuge but it’s kind of a crutch when you need it
- AoE Weakness up 100% of the time but I’m not sure it works that well on bosses anyway
- Best spamable blast finisher in the game
- Single target daze spam with S/D which is one of the best sustainable ways to drain a boss defiant stacks again and again (Headshot spam uses initiative too quickly)
Also, I guess, Basilisk Venom works on Abomination bosses and resets their frenzy stacks.
Play a dungeon, or go find an event where there’s also some NPCs (a contested waypoint is a good place to start). It’s really not hard to do at all.
The problem is you’re going out of your way to try and “solve” the daily, instead of just playing the game like you normally do.
The problem is when I play the game normally, I don’t come across 10 people to rez in an evening. had to get out of my way to find the mats to gather but at least those were a money benefit. Now I also have to get out of my way to rez useless NPCs. I think I’ll park one low level add somewhere and have it do that.
The problem is, this game isn’t WoW (thankfully) but still, the gold grind is very apparent, and the bigger question still…how to fix it? After all, most of the really rich people in game right now, are either massively hacking/exploiting/botting/lucky? or playing the markets exceptionally hard.
Problem is, short of the T3 cultural armors, gold is useless in this game. Except as Player to Player trade.
So giving every player more gold sources as you mentioned WoW did will only add another 0 to the precursor and legendary prices.
What they need to do is add an NPC selling all Lodestones and runes and sigils for 1g each for example. And add more useful stuff to buy with gold. Say the fractal mists for 10g each etc…
Well if you do COF at all, before you do party up through LFG, go to Fireheart rise and res some ash legion spys or get them to die 10 times. Then party up. Done.
Artificial and feels like work. This is a bad one. Crafting is kind of the same except it’s REALLY easy to do and, well I got so much of some unrefined mats they don’t fit in the Collection box. Heck, I got too much of some refined mats that don’t fit in collection box either XD
Gathering feels like work but at least there’s some kind of “reward” behind. It’s also much faster to do and more natural.
I have to go out of my way to get those res done. My daily dungeon runs for sure do NOT provide me with the means, maybe because my groups don’t need rezes that often?
I didn’t do the dailies before the pacth because I had to get out of my way to collect mats and it was a bore. As it stands, I find the GW2 daily to be all work and not fun and the new tasks don’t help.
But now that dailies give the irreplaceable laurels, I guess I’ll have to grind them :/

I can’t speak for all the classes here but do you know that the Elementalist Churning Earth spell does more damage than Backstab?
There is now a LOT of gold floating around, and one of the reasons for that is the readily available Orichalcum, which has dropped in value due to people farming it every day.
Unless people somehow found a way to sell Orichalcum to the NPCs for a huge amount, the amount of Ori farmed has no relation to the amount of gold in the economy.
I just did it few hours ago , i can say that the burning is bugged ! Even if you move you get burning effect on you after the first boss shield and 2nd and 3rd ! Nobody in particular causes that burning so must be a glitch ! Maybe a dev could look into it !

Well, too bad monsters barely never dodge so 100blades IS op against them. Which was the point in the first place.
Well, something simple like increasing 100blades cooldown to 15s could do it. The skill in PvP is hard to land on it’s own and dangerous to spam so it’s already carefully placed when the time is right (target got a root or stun)
Or maybe just go the lazy route and say that all (or most) warrior GS skills do 20% less damage in PvE than in PvP but it will work weirdly in WvW.
Could it just be the effect of the new culling behavior which doesn’t put as much priority into displaying players of your own team than players of the other team? Say there’s a cap at 20 players of your side displayed at max at all times.
It was never 100% guaranteed drop. You got either a bag or one of the dungeon specific “trinket/recipe for crafting the exotic dungeon specific trinket”
I agree 100%. Well a solution is to just play a DPS class and build full Berserk. Build changes then only happen on traits and utilities.
And sigil and runes which can cost more than a full armor set at times.
Yep, the Shadow Arts tree is really your friend in that regard.
You may also consider the Singet of Agility if you want more condition removal. However it will only remove one condition if you are solo roaming.

your attack is low on your screen. Are you using Steady weapons which have a very low base damage?
That solution won’t work
1) People using MF will complain that they die more because glass cannon gear, therefore they are paying more in repair to give benefits to the party.
2) You could exploit this by having a lvl 1 toon party with a lvl 80 in full MF
3) People in a party who don’t want MF will be upset at the person using MF. They will have a way to know now, which is pretty much a ghetto gear-check/inspectThe issue I have is that anti-MFers complain that MF users are being selfish, but demand that they not use MF. You are dictating the way somebody else plays for YOUR personal benefit (3minutes less in a dungeon run). That a great example of selfish and hypocrisy rolled into one.
1) Well on the other hand, if that MF guy wants the full reward, he can try soloing the content instead. Or get the rest of the group to gear in MF too. Besides this behavior is EXACTLY the problem that needs fixing in the first place.
2) Exploit how much? By getting a group of 4 level 1s to get 20% more blue level 1 items to drop? It’s not exploitable at all.
3) Some people in a party will always be upset that someone isn’t using the right gear. At the minimum the MF stat will apply equal benefits to the whole party and not only to the guy using it. As was said before, even survivability stats improve the whole party survivability in a way. MF is the only stat currently that ONLY benefits the user itself no matter how you look at it.
having skipped pages 2-9 since everything here is so repetitive, i cant understand one thing:
arguements AGAINST Mf users: they are selfish, they chose to get more drops instead of helping the team, they sacrifice combat-important stats.
How comes you dont see defensive stats, Thoughness/Vit as NOT selfish? toughness and vit does not help your team a single bit, it only helps YOU surviving because you cant dodge/move right, you can survive anything in full glass cannon in pve, so there is absolutely no reason to pick tough/vit unless you fail at movement/dodging and chose the easier way to pick defensive gear. Even if a full glasscannon maybe has to get rezzed once or twice during a bossfight, he still provided much more dps to the group than one with defstats, and those defstats will probably only let you survive 1 or 2 more of the really deadly hits, if at all.
if players can SOLO arah explorable with a FULL GLASSCANNON spec and gear and in melee, dont. ever. tell me that toughness/vitality “helps” the group by staying alive,
to those who say they hate people in the group who regularly get downed and deal low damage, you basically say you want to run dungeons with only full exotic equipped people, since fresh 80’s with green/rare gear deal less damage and die more often than one with exotic mf gear (full rare glasscannon would deal more damage than exotic mf, but noone gets full rare gear anyway).
Basically it’s a matter of the answer to that question : Why don’t you use a more offensive build to make things faster ?
If the answer is “Sorry but I need my Vitality and Toughness to avoid getting downed too often which can easily lead to a loss of time and maybe even a full party wipe” then why not? The player isn’t as good as he could but we cannot ask too much.
Then, if the answer is “Sorry but I want to get more loots, even if the run goes slower, the loot bonus from MF overrides this and I end up with a net benefit”, then get the hell out of my groups because this answer is pure selfishness.
The MF divided among party members has its own problems as well, which others has discussed before.

I have yet to see anyone commenting on that suggestion except you. It’s not even that I disagree with the problems, I haven’t seen anyone mention them.
Last boss on Ossuary of Unquiet Dead is impossible. I’ve already been trying for 1 hour but I can’t beat it. All NPC’s are dead too. Uninstalling this game now and will go back to wow until this is fixed.
But playing WoW will not improve your GW2 skills so don’t except this to be “fixed” that way.
You cannot pass the first real even solo anyway. You need two players to stand on two switches at the minimum.
Just use the average MF in a party for each player and that’s all. Simple and effective.
T/V armor allows the player to tank and not get killed. It’s not a favorite of mine but it does allow the players that cannot dodge all attacks to survive better and still do damage. Replace a PVT armor set from a player with something else more offensive and you might be getting him killed which is counter productive for the party.
Explorer armor on the other hand, you replace the player gear with Berserk armor and he’s instantly more useful for the group plain and simple, the only thing that changes is that the ex-Explorer player will get lower quality loots than before. The same quality loots as the rest of the party in fact.
We are forcing stats on you? Poor kid. You are forcing me to work harder to improve your own loots. How is that fair?

Again, this is missing the entire point. Non-crafters are not concerned with the daily’s difficulty. Everyone already knows “crafting 10 ingots” is easy.
Can a non-crafter skip that daily altogether? Sure, but until the choice factor is implemented, they’ll miss days of getting laurels for the duration of that time. Gathering resource nodes, such as in the previous daily set, was a terrific middle-of-the-road option for both crafters and non-crafters alike.
Why would a non-crafter skip that daily? There’s NO easier daily to do! On the scale of the daily difficulties from 1 to 10, this daily is at -50.
Besides, if you couldn’t include anything in the daily that someone somewhere wouldn’t like, the only daily left for ANet to implement would be : “Logged in 1/1 congratulations, you finished your daily quest!”
Full servers are more expensive to transfer too.
I find the content to be far less steamrolly than before. Unless you found a spot where you are downscalled to level 15 against level 10 mobs which tends to happen.
For those complaining about the daily… you DO realize that dailies are going to change now, right? Don’t like this daily? Skip it and do tomorrow’s.

You do understand that this crafting daily is the easiest daily they asked you to day since, forever! It’s barely harder than a daily that says : “Daily logins : 1/1”
You can still use the attacks that don’t break stealth to cause them to pick a target I suppose
The signet not working bug isn’t exactly new. You could do that before already :
- equip signets A and B in two different slots
- replace signet A with signet B
- B will automatically be replaced with signet A too
- notice that you lost one of the two passive signet effects
Challenging can be good. But being one-shot-defeated by massive aoe that you have little or no time to dodge? That’s just frustrating.
If you watch the priests animations it is easy to avoid. If you see the red circle on the ground it is already too late. I love it.
The boss is a priest? I though it was a fireworks elemental.
There’s no animations to be seen in that fight, and anyway, as soon as you turn your head to take care of the shades for example, you cannot look at the boss.
There’s a non hidden cap on gold find currently : only the amulet can be gotten in “Utility Infusion Slot” mode.
