You guys really don’t understand this. There is no such thing as balance patches. Think about it this way… the game has been our for a year and 4 months. Should we really still need this many balance patches? If the goal was a balance patch, then the whole ANET methodology is a complete fail.
Instead, I think these are changes to change up the meta, get new skill usage, and to keep the game dynamic. That’s more of the goal regardless of whether it is called a balance patch.
The daily should be to win ONE solo queue game.
@OP: This made me lol. If you can’t win with an ele, maybe it is more of an indication of you. Not all classes suit all players. Find the one that works best with your play style.

warrior with zerker is still bunkerishand for the problem i think they did all this for wvw – make all classes bunkerish or they die in this monster-blobs when face enemys i bet thats reason too why all this classes get now team suppourt casue in wvw they want only warrior and guardian. I bet thats reason why gave engi the stability … so this classes are wanted too^^
i dont think arenanet balance anything for spvp anymore – its all bout “this class have to live in BLOBvsBLOB” and “class need enough suppourt so guilds take it in there builds”

You really have no idea what you are talking about. Warriors were already the preferred zerg class before some of the sustain changes to warriors. Zergs are called a hammer train for a reason. Warriors were also OP in PvE prior to these changes.
All of the changes were made with PvP in mind. That is the one area where people complained about the effectiveness of the class.
@OP: Solo queue hasn’t changed. Your perspective of it has. These are all issues that many people have discussed for awhile now.
The concept of the healing signet is fine. It does need to be changed to scale way better with healing power though. If someone wants to run all zerkers, it should heal for less than today. If someone wants to run all clerics, it should heal for more than today.
I wouldn’t even take htc at the adept tier.

Overall this was a good match-up. It is nice to face the T2’s again. The score is close as it should be for everyone on the 3 servers to enjoy a fairly equal and competitive match.
I hope Anet doesn’t do leagues again cause it sucks kitten . Either you stomp or get stomped, no fun at all.
I’m looking forward to facing SoR soon. If TC can beat them and TC only beat us by 15k, then it should be a pretty good test for us and it should be a close match. I think FA, TC & SoR would be incredibly close, that is if there’s no 2vs1, which I can’t see happening.
You don’t see the full picture here. You can’t compare this week vs gold league week 6. There are big differences.
1. JQ focused SoR most of the week. That allowed TC to pick up points where we could against either server.
2. That week there were queues on TC on basically all 4 maps during NA prime
3. This week, there hasn’t even been a queue in EB most nights.
I think in general a lot of players are suffering from a post league let down. I’d imagine FA and SoS have fewer players this week as well.
Personally, I enjoy fighting FA more than any other server. They are much more fun to fight than many T1 servers. In T1, you’ll see servers building AC for open field battles. In T2, you see people actually fight. Much more fun.
Make the rated portion of the matchup last 3-4 days, then the winner is decided, and the remainder of the match becomes un-rated and guesting is allowed across WvW servers until the next reset. The second half of the week would have limitless PvP and GvG possibilities and allow people to make new friends across servers and integrate communities a bit. The most competitive part of WvW, the weekend, is typically when there are (longer) queues in higher tiers so it would make even less sense to stack servers.
No no no. This part would just make everything a karma train. 2 resets per week is way better.
I would like 2 matches per week. Yes, one of the matches would be a day longer than the other, but that is fine. Have a reset on Friday and Monday at the same time as now.
It really depends on what type of spec you are playing, condi or power.

Because you have a much higher chance of winning in solo Q. In team Q, you’re likely to get pitted against organized teams of players who likely are talking on Vent, have played together before, and have a more optimal team composition.
That logic is flawed. To win another team must loose. So the average win percentage across all SoloQ players is 50%. And since I have no influence on my team or my opponents its all luck.
Currently TeamQ gives me a better playing experience and better rewards, so the only reason to do SoloQ is for the two dailies which take too long to bother anyway.
Partially true, but certain classes can help carry a team. A strong bunker makes the fight way easier.
TC can’t help zerging, it’s dangerous out there! FA baddies everywhere!
Zerging is partially a necessity from the gold league. The top 3 servers typically run in massive blobs. You either do it as well or you get destroyed. Luckily TC has 100 CERN on every map at the same time and so that protects us.

The better question is whether thieves have a role in tpvp going forward. I’m not sure they have a particular role that another class couldn’t do better. We will see as the meta evolves.
@OP, as others have said, there are good options now. You just need to experiment instead of waiting for someone to create a specific guide (if you remember when most everyone followed the d/d guide earlier this year)

Holy crap, FA I didn’t expect this from you! Beat TC and it means you are on par with SoR.
You have to remember that it took a huge assist from JQ in order for us to beat SoR. Look what SoR did to us the previous week.
This week has been fun. Last night, there were constant 3 way fights outside between garrison and bay. It was not about ppt and everyone just fighting to fight. A great time. Much respect to CNB (best guild name btw), YOLO, STUN, PiNK, and the whole slew of FA people who fought.

If so just a reminder that you, amongst other things, promised new legendaries.
I count in the group of such individuals who saved allot of cash cause they found the current legendaries not suited to their characters.
And also make legendaries account bound please. It sucks putting so much effort into a legendary that just sits in my bag unused because the meta forced new weapon sets.

Definitely a poorly thought out achievement. It should be “play 3 solo queue games” and “play 3 tpvp games”. Either of those should also count towards the “play 3 matches” daily as well.
@OP: Ascended armor should never have been introduced in any part of the game. It added a grind to the game and killed the manifesto for the game.
Unfortunately, now that it is here, it should be available for both PvE and WvW.
Actually, I think the better solution is that stability should clear and prevent immobilize. Also, stun breakers should be able to break any immobilize/root in the game.

The most obvious attack animation in the whole game and people fail to dodge it, unless ofc this is in a zerg or people destroying a gate and didn’t see it coming.
Translation: In 1v1, it is easy to dodge and see it coming. In group fights or zergs, it is OP.
Even though the devs think the venom share builds are “almost there” (pvp live stream), these types of builds are not really viable for anything other than casual hot join. Of course in casual hot join, pretty much any random build is viable.
Because guardians are in a good spot right now. They have a bunch of different specs and armor combos that can be adjusted between pve, wvw, pvp, or fractals. They don’t need a lot of changes.
I was disappointed with the staff 3 change though. It should have been 8 seconds of swiftness whether someone had swiftness or not.
Clock tower lost its number 1 spot when they turned other players into wisps.

Healing signet is what should have been changed BEFORE the hammer changes were made. The problem is that ANET doesn’t like to admit a mistake and so they change 10 other skills instead of fixing their problem.
the hammer is the most telegraphed weapon.i have no problem dodging the attacks especially with ranged classes, and if I do get hit by the cc chain its easy to get out of or negate. ie: stun breakers,blinds,blink/shadowstep/infi strike, distortion….etc. hammer is indeed powerful if hit by the whole cc chain but your just bad if you do. this is indeed a l2p issue. hammer SHOULD NOT be nerfed…whats your opinion on warrior hammer?
The problem is that while that is true for PvP, it is OP in WvW. That’s where it needed the nerf. In large scale fights, you can’t see “the most telegraphed weapon”.
Be happy though, what really needed a nerf was the healing signet, and that escaped.

Wow. Some people complain about everything. You get permastealth nerfed and still aren’t happy.
Remember when GW2 used to have a manifesto? Those days were amazing. You could play the game however you wanted and still get the best gear. Now you have to play a certain way.
venomshare isn’t great now and it isn’t going to be very great after the patch either. No one will want a thief for support. It just isn’t the role of the class.
I gotta say as a member of TC…. this is one of the most evenly matched fights we’ve had in awhile. It’s definitely been fun to get away from the unevenness of the gold league. Also it is interesting to see SBI beating Mag in T3. Hopefully this is the start of a really balanced 4-9.
A list like this is tough… do you mean for hotjoin or for solo/team queue?

Spirit watch is kinda blah. I don’t really care about it either way. Skyhammer definitely should be a hotjoin only map.
I’d say any of the T2 or T3 servers. Those 6 servers are all pretty competitive at the moment.
DC has already said that back pieces will be available through WvW in the future. He didn’t mention the time frame though.
While you are waiting, if you’d like to get a good preview of mists, try doing living story stuff. The best way to describe mists is a PvE map where you can kill people.
That’s not accurate at all. It has no more and no less pve than current WvW maps.
You must not have spent much time there if you believe that. The PvE aspects are one of the new key features of the new map. Either try the map, or watch the developer live stream to get a better preview.

Great summary. A few comments.
1. I’d reeeeally like to see commanders have the ability to unclaim structures if there is no active buff on it. So many times a random guild will claim something they cannot buff.
2. I really like the idea of a commander’s tag only showing up to select people (party, team, guild, etc. Glad to see that captured)
3. I do think the tag should be account bound and cost 100 gold + a certain number of laurels.
4. Also, I’m not a big fan of too many options. At the end of the day, I want the commander to be leading us in fights, not standing around trying to lay out responsibilities for a ton of different sub squads. It’s easy enough just to say it through voice chat.
