Two suggestions for firebrand. This comes from a WvW perspective.

1. Tomes need to be insta-cast. It is clunky how they are currently set up.
2. Mantra need to be AOE based vs in a cone in the front. Their range should also be 600.

Fix those two items and guard will be a viable support option in WvW.

I think the new specs would be more fun if we could use the HoT weapons with them. In other words, don’t lock the HoT weapons behind the traitline. Make those available with the new specs.

Hiding classes won’t solve the issue that some classes are overplayed. 5 DH is 5 DH, hidden or not.

Just needs better matchmaking to not allow that sort of thing.

I see someone in the top 8 after only 8 games. This is a BS system. Make people climb vs just adding people to their regular MMR levels.

Really no point to the season. Adjusting MMR is a slow process.

I’m glad that stronghold is removed from ranked. It didn’t really belong there. It is a good map for unranked though.

This does NOTHING absolutely NOTHING to address the issue of class stacking.

I just came from a match with 4 lights and a medium against 2 wars, 2 DH and a Necro.
As expected, it was stupidly unbalanced.

Before you were complaining about thieves and engis being OP. Now you are concerned about warriors and DH. It is hard to keep track of your complaints.

Matchmaking has been horrible. Unfortunately, given that it has been so bad, a lot of players seem to have left. I’d love to see ANET mention the PvP participation numbers. I’m willing to bet they are dwindling.

Chillout they don’t read forums suggestions…mostly they do balance after performance of each class during pro-league and how boring/exciting was to watch it for anet marketing division.

Balance will be same thing as always – nerf something to the ground hoping that community will find how to work around it and big blind uber buff things hoping that something will hit the mark.

Just look like they keep ,,buffing" ele scepter and making it useless thanks to cooldown nerf for ,,standardization"

You really guys hoping they make something for better for all classes? Playing this almost 3 years and still they do things same style.

Actually, they balance based on PvE and then remove/add amulets as a way to “balance” PvP.

An average Engi is better than a great thief, rev, warr, and Mesmer. That is not ok. So imagine what a great Engi would look like? An unkillable class that can burst with the best of them.

You are surprised? The only thing that should be expected is that somehow the matchmaking will be worse than the previous season. It used to make me mad. Now I just feel bad for the person who is coding it. I’m sure they are trying hard, but matchmaking just isn’t their thing.

I have to say that both days were fun to watch. The double elimination format added a lot of excitement. Personally, I was bored with the S1 and S2 single elimination set up.

It would definitely be good to consider double elimination for future championships!

If a fractal can’t be beaten in 10 minutes it is too long. It shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes to run 3 of them.

ANET should immediately begin sponsoring weekly tournaments for NA and EU. Add them back on Sundays and build some hype.

During the regular season, it is still fine to have 2 tournaments a week. Visibility is a positive. The more people see these top teams, the more they will start to follow them and become fans.

Compare to overwatch where you can see the top teams compete 2 or 3x a week. You actually have fans of those teams.

Servers rise and fall. I’m sorry that you’re in denial of that but that’s how it is. I was on JQ when SoR had their exodus and I was on IoJ when they had one of their many exoduses. It happens. The linking might be contributing to the issue but it’s not the only reason. Guilds leave and others follow suit. One server inflates and another depletes.

I think you miss the point completely. This isn’t about a particular server rising and falling. It is about keeping it more dynamic.

Also you are not able to dress how you like – i want to look like Solaire and i can’t + outfits can’t be mixed with regular armour so no. No. No. No.

So because you can’t have the exact mix you want, others can’t as well.

Its true because the classes they needed to fix was ranger/revenant/mesmer and they didn’t do much to them.

Yeah, let’s nerf the ranger back into irrelevance away from this boring niche bunker role which is the only thing it’ll ever be good at.

Let’s also replace revenants and mesmers with thieves and warriors. That will make for a better game for sure!

The issue isn’t the casting. I think they do a pretty good job.

The problem is the marketing group at ANET is quite poor. They need to ramp up more excitement, get people passionate about certain teams. Right now, they just post a bunch of articles the week before a big tournament and then hope people come watch it.

On Topic; I think match quality is far and away the biggest issue. Perhaps any team should be counted as higher MMR because it is a team.

I think everyone knows that matchmaking is horrible except maybe whoever came up with the current system.

Matchmaking will always ben broken as long as they stack one team to win every game.

Or just trash their damage. Holding out versus 2 or even 3 enemies is fine if you are good enough to do it (I’m not a fan of passive bunkers either). But you shouldn’t be dealing any damage hardly and I think thats why they are considered broken. A bunker build shouldn’t be able to apply damaging conditions at all, and in my opinion they really shouldn’t be able to apply any conditions period. They are designed to survive, not to kill. You shouldn’t have classes that can do both, and do both well at that

Agreed. The single best designed bunker was always the staff guardian. It did zero damage, but could sustain and could buff teammates.

ANET has failed at matchmaking 3 seasons in a row. You really expect something different in season 4? I’ll give you a preview of the matchmaking update: “We were generally happy with matchmaking in S3. We’ve made minor tweaks and reduced the PIP range from 15 to 13.”

It was clear that keeping most of Q2 under wraps as a surprise worked. Whilst I am not a fan of no hype, it was evident from the almost unanimous positive outpouring that day, their strategy worked. In some ways that has created its own hype and expectations, since the quality of what they dropped was greater than expected and was in line with what people wanted.

I disagree. The problem is that a lot of non-raid PvE players have left the game. ANET needs better marketing to get them back. Sure word of mouth helps, but there are a lot of good games right now and ANET needs to build the anticipation.

GG thank you for ruining everything, BTW who is going to give all of us our money/gold back for the people who bought them for this transfer that’s not going to happen. Solo Q to be removed from Ranked PvP

@OP: Horrible idea. The exact opposite will happen over what you expect. Let’s say there is no solo queue. Do you really think everyone will automatically go look for 4 other players and create a team? No. They will stop playing. What about those who duo, triple or 4 queue? They also will either need to find others or will just not play.

At the end, you’ll just end up with a much smaller PvP community.

A better solution is to have a season that is solo queue only. That will be much more reflective of skill levels for a leaderboard.

Legendary Armor Information

Do you have any plans for non raiders to get a legendary armor? Or do you stick with this stupid idea to link the legendary armor with the raid?

It seems their plan is to stick with the stupid idea. It is sad how many people I know who have left the game due to a lack of PvE content. If you don’t like to raid, you’ve had nothing to do since you got bored of HoT.

This is exactly why master’s wouldn’t solve anything. Make next season a solo queue only season, and then yes, master’s would be a good idea.

NO idk why people associate premades with good teams the Que times are already killer like 20 mins plus for 5 mans its insane considering this game is said to be MMO is it not the point to play with friends…

i mean there should be a incetive to playing with friends not the other way around… spvp is already bad enough with people not wanting to que together based on que times and the often times of increasing the difficulty of matches since the current system scales to the top player on your team(this system is needed dont get me wrong)

all in all what needs to happen is maybe a PIP forgiveniess if you lose to a team with 2 or more partied players… for insance if a team of 1 duo and 3 solo vs a 4 man premade and 1 solo …… if the 1 duo and 3 solo loses they dont lose pips or maybe if the game was in a certain point margin…..dont punish players who want to play together

in a perfect world 5 man premades would only play premades but even my guild which was number 1 on the leader boards 3 days ago achieved that via 3 mans bc 5 man ques were something out of a horror movie like a hour long at the legendary level… and if yall fill anything like me its not the loss that stings its that PIP loss of course this may make climbing to legendary to eazy but i think its the lesser of 2 evils

An example of a person who wants to stomp pugs. Here is the sad thing… this guy has no idea that by stomping pugs, you’ll just get those pugs to play less causing even longer queues. This guy also doesn’t realize that queues are a lot longer this season since people aren’t playing anymore.

Legendary Armor Information

So, how do the 90% or so of players who don’t raid, get legendary armor?

A few years back, ANET released ascended trinkets that could only be earned in fractals. The overwhelming response was that this was a bad idea. ANET admitted as much and said they wouldn’t lock a new gear level behind one game type.

Fast forward to now and it seems like ANET thinking that trying a bad idea a second time will give them a better result. WAKE UP ANET. It is a really dumb idea.

Unique skins should be locked behind game modes. A unique level of gear should not.

Three months with this matchmaking

The matchmaking has basically been the same since season one with minor changes.

It hasn’t been the same, S2 had a major change and S3 has iterated on the S2 matchmaking.

S1 was terrible
S2 was horrible
S3 is somewhere in the middle of S1 and S2

I must give ANET a lot of credit. I’ve said that the matchmaking is absolutely horrible. It is great to see that ANET listened to everyone’s feedback. The matchmaking team implemented all their best ideas during this patch.

The sad thing is that everyone except for the matchmaking team knew that the matchmaking system was going to be a failure this season. It’s not possible to have balanced, non-blowout games when one team is stacked to win every game.

It’s boring and why a lot of people are playing overwatch or other games.

Ranked leagues are there for one reason and one reason only… to get people to play more. You guys should know that.

It is not to measure skill, or to have balanced games. The only way ANET will ever invest in a good matchmaker or better league structure is if they see the player numbers declining.
