It doesn’t drop champion bags in order to prevent people from failing it on purpose and raging at those that don’t go along with it.
Marientte is for regulars/casuals. Wurm is for hardcore. I don’t have an issue with this.
thats not right. why would Anet split the player base like that?
Also I believe marionette going to be up for 4 weeks. since everything else has been given 4 weeks time.
Okay, they should remove all jumping puzzles because I hate them and they split the player base. I didn’t get any SAB stuff because I cannot tolerate JPs. Remove them from the game….
That sounds ridiculous right? It sounds the exact same way to have an issue with the wurm.
I am in favor of solid orange circles being used for 1shot worthy attacks. However, regular AOEs should keep the regular circles.
I bet that the OP wasn’t expecting so many people to be in favor or zerging. Seems like the thread was meant to be a QQfest instead.
My stance is that it doesn’t matter what I like. They should introduce content for everyone. That means instanced content, pvp content, pve content, ect. I hate SAB with a passion, but plenty of people like it, so they should continue to develop and release it.
I don’t really care when it goes account bound. I have peace of mind just knowing it will. So, now I know that at some point in the future every level of WxP I gain will eventually count.
That said, I don’t really understand why it would take so long. In terms of development and resources, it should be pretty easy to do.

Me either, my only problem is that the wurm is staying and the marionette is going away. I actually enjoy the marionette, whereas I have already decided the wurm is not for me.
The wurm will be fine once a solid strategy is figured out. Fortunately, the Marionette doesn’t require much strategy.

I will say that I gained a high amount of respect for Bioware with their body type 4 in SWTOR.

On the rate your support page, it gives me the option to type in a comment with my rating, but I do not see a submit button? Am I missing something?
It would’ve been nice if i knew it before making my ascended stuff, now thanks to ArenaNet, i have to farm again in order to get these stats that i want, for both my Guard and Elem, thanks a lot…
You could just stick with what you have and call it good enough.
I am not sure why they keep pushing Scarlet on us. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that the majority of the playerbase agrees that she isn’t a very good character.
Guilds like TTS are able to bring in enough players into a map for wurm before the overflow got hard capped (over 80 guild members). The amount of random players vs your guild members are relatively small. And this is on the patch day. After the initial surge, most time with TTS the overflows were never hard capped for Teq kills.
Regardless, this content is nearly impossible to finish with any significant amount of randoms. It would be awesome if guilds could easily do it in an instanced environment. Using an overflow for it is clunky and annoying.
I know that hardcapping was plentiful back when I was doing Teq. I spent plenty of time spam joining to get in with my guild, which was Overflow One before they shutdown.
I agree Scarlet is absolutely terrible. It is like it came out of a book for 10 year olds.
The difference is that you can choose precisely who gets in and make sure no one gets left out if it is instances. With the overflow system, you end up with a bunch of randoms with your guildies/friends being locked out.
You can defend the bosses all you want…doesn’t remove the fact that it’s too much coordination for open world content.
Yes, they should all be just like the shatterer. AFK pressing 1 while watching TV or doing something else.
This is why we can’t ever get any decent content. So much of the playerbase likes press 1 and AFK fights.
Did I ever say it had to be another Shatterer? I just told you that how it is now, less than 5% of the playerbase will actually get to complete any of this because they need to 1) join coordinated groups and their TS 2) wait a bunch of time 3) fight against evil overflows.
You make this kind of stuff that requires everyone to pull their weight, please make it in an instance, not in open world where one undergeared pug can ruin it all by failing a champion.
I can agree with making it an instance.

I have only been playing the game for 4 months now but I must say that after seeing this new content for the first time (Lornar’s Passs) it is the worst I have seen since I started. I thought the Tower of Madness wasn’t very good, this is so much worse. It just builds on a zerg fest. It is too complicated and confusing, nobody knows what is going on or what to do, it requires tons of people to even try it and everyone just gets mad at everyone else and name calls and everything else. This is so disappointing. This will be content that after the first several days or week it will be dead as a lot of players won’t care to do it again and those that haven’t won’t be able to do it. Very sad! Anet’s thinking has really changed and the days of GW is gone and it’s time for WoW on Anet. We wasted 2 hours waiting for the event just so everyone dies, wastes their time, repair their armor and for what? More content several of us aren’t going to spend any money buying gems to support buying stuff in TP.
People like this are why the game launched with the original world bosses the way they were. Just run up to them and tap 1 until they die. Anything other than standing still and tapping 1 is confusing.
This first down on this will happen today. It is actually relatively easy. It just requires coordination.
I know that the idea was to get away from the convention which is organized raiding. However, using overflows as a replacement for organized raiding is a poor idea.
I am fine with getting rid of them. It will be a direct disadvantage to single minded massive zerging.

Other ways to include skills in a vertical progression fashion.
- link skills to the orders, and a specific order quest(s)
- link skills to dungeon completion
- link skills to quest completion within the personal story, most noticeably would be some of the racial skills. Obviously addition of some specific racial quests and a racial loyalty system could make these skills (and possibly emissary racial armour) available to all players.
- While more of a horizontal progression, adding in more profession related skills to weapons currently not available to a profession would be a way to include more skills. If these were un-lockable by spending skill points, as achieved by suggestion 1 & 2 above, these would at the same time become part of vertical progression.
I would say there are a lot of ways to include more skill and/or more vertical skill progression into GW2.
All good ideas except for a few things in this portion. Everything that is introduced should be linked to stuff that players do after reaching 80. It shouldn’t be tied to some personal story or order quest you did in December of last year.
People that are leveling from 0 to 80 are already getting new skills as they level. The progression needs to occur in NEW content introduce after 80, not retroactively through old content.
Wasn’t expecting much, but yeh like everyone else, mind blown.
Are the people he fought actually that bad…. I mean, I know that a large amount of guardian defense is through complete mitigation, but really?
Honestly, you have to give some credit. It would be hard to be downed by a person with no armor on unless they had some level of exception skill.
That said, they were probably zerkers. It would be quite difficult for anything with or without armor to solo down my guardian zerg build.

You can adjust your gear/traits to reduce condition damage if you choose to.
This heal is terrible when compared to the heals that many of the professions have. I have a warrior, guardian, ele, necro, and Engi. This heal doesn’t come close to Shelter, Healing Signet, Ether Renewal, or Elixir H/Healing kit.
With the upcoming changes… Celestial gear should be removed from the game entirely.
When mf was being modified, people said the same thing about celestial gear…but it is still used widely. And people will keep using it still after this change too.
It isn’t about who will still use it. It is more about whether it makes sense to time-gate an exotic. It MIGHT have made a hair of since before the update. However, after the nerf it makes no sense to time-gate it so extremely.
If bolt’s of damask can be sold on the TP, I don’t see why charged quarts can’t be.
Balancing would be easier, so some nerfs wouldn’t be necessary.

I submitted ticket 271556. The response was that nothing could be done, but I am posting it here for review. It seems like it should be easy to verify in a log that it occurred and offer a refund. After all, it is only the posting fee not an item or gold that actually made it to another player.
I kind of like this build. You are pretty much immune to conditions to an almost overkill degree, so you can forgo vitality entirely in favor of other stats. Looks very interesting.
If you don’t mind, update the thread on how the build works out for you.
As has been said before, with the crit damage changes it remains unsure whether celestial will be worth taking until we know the details. I suggest holding off for a while
Yup, definitely don’t think I’ll be wasting anything on Celestial now. At least not armor. Not worth dealing with time-gating for something that has been nerfed into the ground.
Given that I have plenty of guild commendations and laurels, I may still go for celestial trinkets if they remain a decent option for the trinket slots, but there is no point in even getting the armor now.
Anet definitely has a problem. Severely Time-gated gear should not get massive nerfs without some kind of recompense. I am only glad that I hadn’t made any celestial gear when this nerf was announced.
Even allowing people to swap out the gear won’t help since it shouldn’t take anyone longer than 1 day to get a regular set of exotic armor, whereas it takes a month to get celestial.
Really glad I just crafted my celestial ascended set.
Seriously anet… really bad move from a customer relations standpoint. Way to destroy an entire set of armor that people spend hundreds of gold to craft.
I am actually a little glad about this. This nerf helps show everyone what others have been saying about ascended. Having ascended as a giant time/resource sink does not work in this game. As classes get changed/balanced people want to change specs and that is not supported by ascended. It also inhibits them balancing stats/classes as they have to worry about customer ramifications. If this is what gets people mad enough to demand change then it is a blessing in disguise.
You gotta have that one jealous/vindictive guy that is happy to see people getting screwed over.

Judging by the dev post in the above thread, I am led to assume that there is going to be massive nerfs to certain sigils in order to balance the changes. Given that there are a lot of powerful combinations that involve the energy sigil, I am going to assume that it will be nerfed into the ground. My WvW guardian heavily relies on energy sigils, so if the nerf occurs I will be annoyed and prefer to just revert back to 1 sigil on my two-hander.
GW2 is designed with casuals in mind. It is why they have the most uninformative combat log in the history of MMOs and no ability to inspect gear. Nobody will be able to tell what you are running for the most part. Just learn how to finish whatever you are running and you’ll be fine.
Guess I am going to go sell off my energy sigil supply. They are obviously going to nerf it into the ground because it is going to be OP used along with certain other sigils.
So, I can’t afford full celestial armor right now, but I can afford full celestial trinkets. I am trying to come up with the best way to arrange none-celestial armor and celestial trinkets into an ele support build until I can afford to make celestial armor.
You can really ignore the traits/skills. I am primarily looking for feedback on the stats/gear.
Anyone that thinks that ascended is required to be competitive in WvW probably isn’t very good at WvW.
LS makes money. Given that the game has no sub, it is obvious that they would be placing priority on what makes money.
This only really matters in roaming. Big groups are still going to oneshot you in 2 seconds if you don’t position yourself properly.
Is simple: stop DEBUFFING. Players dont like to hear “you will do less damage” “you will now loot less” “you will now be less interested in our game”
Stop taking things AWAY from players.
For goodness sakes, why was it IMPOSSIBLE to just freakin BUFF the other stat combos??? Slightly BUFF the power/prec/crit dmg, or whatever else is viable, for the other stat sets?!?!
Abominable decision here. Wonder how many will consider this their last straw with Anet.
Another example: (quote from dulfy) “We moved stat weights to later bonuses (i.e. 4, 5, 6) so people don’t use mix-match rune bonuses.”
Why? Let people be creative and mix and match. Why the hell would you do this?
You might as well not let us mix and match armor skins.
While you’re at it, only 1 dye color per armor set.Gosh this game has come a long way…down.
The only thing I agree with in your post is the part about moving stat weights to later bonuses. That sort of kills diversity.
I would love it if the leave staff just as it is and just introduce a whole new weapon if they have more ideas. Most often, things that are changed end up worse, or a lot better for a month before being nerfed into the ground. Just leave staff alone.
8% is pretty hilarious.
I am tired of them tweaking healing breeze. They need to understand that there is absolutely nothing they can do to it that will convince me to use it.
The sigil thing and cooldown thing is going to be huge for WvW guardians. I can think of a number of combinations that will be significant. I think this change will benefit guardians more than most other professions.
This is why you shouldn’t make ascended armor. Just wear exotics so you can easily adjust to changes.
Sucks for people that made ascendeds. This sort of wild nerfing is why I am not even going to make ascended armor. On a whim, the entire set could become useless.
I bet that the new world bosses are designed to punish zerkers harshly.
Teq already is such a fight, so it’s a safe bet the new ones will also be like that, however the main problem is with dungeons.
You should be able to finish Teq in zerker if you dodge and move properly. The biggest damage are the waves, and those are quite easy to avoid. I imagine that the new world bosses will punish zerkers harshly with no way to avoid/dodge it.
That doesn’t actually solve the problem though and it’s counter intuitive to do that in a game that revolves around kiting and dodge rolling. Why have the system at all if we are subjected to unavoidable damage bursts? They need to design content to punish poorly played glass cannons or people who try to do it on classes/builds that can’t spam dodges and blocks, not gc’s as a concept. The mobs need to move and attack in unpredictable ways without massive telegraphing that screams “PRESS X TO NOT DIE!” like some big multiplayer game of God of War.
If you read my posts, I never said it solved anything. I simply stated that they would probably adjust these bosses to punish those with little to no defensive stats and make it unavoidable.
There will always be RNG because of the crazy people that keep buying the mystery boxes.
Why is rampant speculation allowed in this game? This is something that’s bothered me in every MMO I have played, but it’s most extreme in GW2.
Imagine people bought bread for no other reason than the expectation it will be worth more tomorrow. Buying a loaf of bread would get pretty expensive really quick, would it not? This sort of thing has wrecked real-world economies throughout history. It’s something every modern government works hard to limit and control. But for some reason, MMO’s embrace this behavior without reservation. Why?
To be clear, I’m not talking about profit-seeking. (Farming mats and selling them, for example.) That is a normal, healthy activity which adds real value to a game’s economy. I am talking about flipping items on the TP. It serves no purpose and only raises prices well beyond what a player can hope to farm naturally.
So here is my very simple question: what benefit does speculation offer an MMO? Developers must believe it has some positive aspect, because it is allowed – encouraged, even – in nearly every major MMO ever released.
edit – Why did I post this here and not in the economy section? Because I’m not interested in how speculation affects the game’s economy. I don’t care whether or not it makes the economy healthier.
I’m interested in how it changes the game itself, in general. How it effects players who choose to have a minimal exposure to the economy. If I want ascended gear, how does the materials costing thousands of gold add to the experience? Speculation is directly responsible for this situation, thus I ask what it adds to the game. (If that makes sense.)
If I posted this in the economy section, I would just start a debate over the merits and risks of speculation. That is a worthwhile discussion, but it is not what I’m after. I am curious how a speculation-driven economy improves the game as a whole – from PvP to WvW to PvE.
Apparently you aren’t aware of the stock market or the futures market. People buy and sell things based on speculation all the time IRL.
As far as the game goes, it ends up working out well for them in terms of profits. Why would you buy gems to convert them to gold if there were nothing that you couldn’t easily buy.
I bet that the new world bosses are designed to punish zerkers harshly.
