The preview function doesn’t really show the true scale though. Hammers look larger on asura during the preview and smaller when it is actually equipped. I agree that Mjolnir might look nice, but the price is and will probably always remain ridiculous for an exotic.

the whole t1 and t2 crowd – 10 percent of you made those servers hot ….the rest want to ride their coat tails. It’s unfortunate that those talented few will never shine because of the extra guilds that just wanted to transfer to a winning server to call themselves pro pvprs. my heart goes out to the talented few unrecognized guilds, may they travel well.

While I don’t have any issue with people transferring, I will say that I’ve been playing on the same server since launch.

I don’t have any issue with people liking different things than me. Some people like large scale combat and large group coordination. I don’t think everyone should be forced to become a roaming party because that is what you like.

stuffing your servers with people desperate to win does not make you a top pvp server.

make the scores for the leagues credible – even the fights …..there are no other servers with your numbers – so you are only exploiting a game mechanic. so I call a foul on t1 and t2 servers.

you have no true wins to challenge my points.

Balance the matches – and break them up into 12 hours – so the day teams can’t leach off the night team scores.

reward loyalty, because it’s justice.

lock the servers for the leagues so people learn to be loyal.

simple and elegant.

Not everyone on larger servers are desperate to win. Some people just like larger scale combat. Maybe you don’t like it, but that doesn’t make it some how wrong. It doesn’t really make sense to make the larger majority of the WvW player base change over to the play style of the minority.

As it stands, loyalty is a requirement for WvW and shouldn’t be one. If your server community starts sucking or you want to move and play with a friend, there should be no punishment.

GW2 is a global game. Policies that discriminate against certain time zones should not be put in place.

We will have an announcement about the NA leagues and seasons generally soon. But there are changes coming in.

Could we get an ETA on this announcement? So much suspense!

Probably Thursday, but I can’t be 100% sure as we need to get translations and editing done before it can go live.

let me explain to you guys something, the lower tier wvw pvp servers are the true heir to the pvp throne – we don’t run like all the guilds in t1 servers.

even the fights so we can remove this horrible rumor that t1 and t2 are the best pvprs in the game, its nonsense and very untrue.

This is your problem and the reason I disagree with number 3. While I disagree with them, number 1 and 2 are unbias ideas that have the goal of making the game better. Number 3 doesn’t do much but push your style of WvW that you think apparently the “heir to the PVP throne” on everyone.

The OP lacks any understanding of one of the purpose of leagues if they are suggesting free transfers. The whole idea is to get people transferring and generate money.

I feel obliged to chime in that all three ideas are terrible. Just to make sure that Anet doesn’t look in this thread, see no disagreement, and decide it must be a good idea.

1. Players shouldn’t be punished for being in T1. I’d be good with not allowing any players to go TO T1, but you can’t remove T1 players ability to transfer without removing everyone elses.

2. No more stat bonuses. WvW already has enough in my opinion. Too much in the opinion of some people.

3. Limiting maps to 60 people doesn’t accommodate the desired gameplay style of everyone. It does accomodate some people for sure, but many like the larger map caps.
4. 12 hour matches wouldn’t really change alot. You’d win the 12 hour match that you have coverage for and win the following lose that you don’t have any coverage for.

The one and only thing you suggested that I could kind of get into is rapid matches. I could totally go for 1 day, 2 day, or 3 day match ups as opposed to the current week long matchups.

Going for my dungeon master title right now and everyone I ask is telling me the path is nigh impossible.

I’m wondering if I should be waiting until this patch to attempt it or if it is working as intended and I need to form a group that is willing to make the attempt.

This update is for adding a new path. I wouldn’t hold out for any changes to an old path.

Logged into WVW to try to get our home land back.
We had flipped a supply camp so our keeps could get supplies, we had a thief gank us over and over killed 27 dolisks kid you not. You try to attacked them there invised and heal then back on you .

yes we asked for help but as many know DR is becoming a ghost town.

Hills was being attacked and they were asking for help, so 28th doliak trying to escort it one of my guild mates logged in to help we see the thief on the hill we engage and are told by a member of DR team to leave her alone they are dueling, I told them take it to pve if you are and by the way that thief is killing our supplies.
“She only attacked you because you attacked her” “Excuse me this is wvw not candyland and why are you working with the enemy?”
Then we get this tell from someone else "Just so you know Devonas Rest is used by several guilds to swap points no one seriously defends devona lol! we use it to help each other rank We talk and in the course are told the reason why so many have left is so they can point up and were not able to because of all the 2nd accounts that log into devona to stop us from defending and they are on voice telling there guilds our moves.
How are we suppose to defend, rank up or have fun if we have ones giving our map away so enemy’s can get points? was told be smart leave the server, I told them no we have a almost level 5 guild devonas are home server why do we have to start over because you guys are giving us away? Then another sent me a tell saying “Maybe a handful still seriously defend the rest of us are just flipping points.”
If what they are saying is true then it explains a lot about why we are failing as a server in WVW and why the commanders had so much trouble getting ones to follow them it explains why certain folks go flip a keep and strip resources so it can not be up graded nor sieged.
And why we have 5 players that ask for help with defending a keep and we find them hiding and not helping so they can retake the keep as soon as the other side takes and leaves then 30 mins later we need help there back.

We really need a system that gives us points if we defend and hold plus a way to fix this out numbered it is very frustrating to always be out numbered and have a zerg of 30 plus hit your keep while you have a handful on to help defend.
Yeah I know the trolls will flame me truthfully really do not care reason why because when you flame me your just saying you support the farming of DR.

You must be new to the game. You shouldn’t ram your head into the same wall 28 times. What you have described is the current state of thieves. Getting rolfstomped 28 times isn’t going to change that.

Sadly this thread is legit. I personally don’t mind the bloodlust thing, but I can’t argue with current matchup math. The matchups are a mess right now. All blowouts or sound defeats.

I wanted 3 originally, but math pointed out by other posters pointed out the lacking aspects thereof. We’d then have servers with no third opponent, from what I recall.
Four, while not “perfect,” would at least work much better than two. Keep your fingers crossed, timidobserver … and everyone else.

Yup. It is pretty simple to me. The number rating separation between the number 1 server and the number 12 server is bigger in NA than EU. The separation is actually double. Taking that into consideration, NA should certainly not have less leagues than EU.

Of your entire post I either disagree or am neutral with every point except one. I like the idea of disconnecting PVE servers and WvW entirely. That said, it would be really resource intensive to do it correctly.

Ill add to it a bit. I would create battlegroups, for lack of a better term. Only servers in X battlegroup will face each other. There would be a low intensity battlegroup and a high intensity one and maybe a medium one. At that point, you allow players to pick which kind of server they want based on the type of battlegroup it falls into.

In other words, they shouldn’t create a bunch of super maxed servers. They should specify the type of experience that the new servers offer and allow players to pick.

It is more frustrating to get an award you have absolutely no use for. I got a carrion ascended weapon. Given that condition damage is more or less useless in the game, unless you are soloing something, that is pretty much useless.

As per usual. Maybe the 5 of us or so can throw rocks and it and wish reeeaaalllly hard. The entire server seems to have either disappeared off to more successful servers where their chances of victory are almost guaranteed, or have just plain given up entirely, and the only reason they show up is for the daily.

So I guess my question is: How is this event fair to servers like ours? We have people that know what to do, but we don’t have near enough of them to even dent this thing. Even at peak hours it’s a ghost town like that. Lowest I’ve seen him get is 75%. I see lots of people complaining about Overflow servers…. man I’d love to have one of those. Consider yourselves lucky that you’re not on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Ascended Swap Idea

A way to do it could be Ascended Wrapping + X Obsi Shards + X Ecto + The weapon box in mystic forge = Ascended weapon token which you trade in for a new weapon of your choice.

But I haven’t decided if I think it’s a good idea or not.
But given that ascended weapons aren’t tradeable, this could actually be argued that it’s fair in a way.
However it makes it significantly easier to obtain an ascended weapon you want. Which is a bad thing if you want to keep the rarity of them up.

I don’t think that allowing people to make use of the one they manage to get is a rarity issue. It’s not like I am suggesting that they increase the drop rate.

I am glad there is no transfer lock. If there was a transfer lock on T1 servers, everyone would come to T2 and then my server would have worse queues.

Yeh, no. I like the challenge. My only issue with Teq are the more technical details like how the queue/overflow works, afks scaling stuff up, crashes, slightly buggy achievements, and the wait time.

They should create an AFK zone on the map. If you are in the AFK zone, you can afk for the normal timer. If you AFK outside of the AFK zone, you get kicked after 1 minute.

The thing about zerk players is that most of them didn’t choose zerk stats because they like it, but because it is THE most efficient way of doing pve content atm. So when, say at Teq, zerk becomes unviable they change it. I switch to my wvw pvt set for this fight, even though I’m zerk elitist whole other time.

It was never about one set of stats, this whole zerk stuff was about getting the best gear for the tasks we have. It’s only logical to switch your gear when the situation demands it. That’s what all those stubborn tanky healing rangers can’t understand and insist on playing one and only build\gear set in every game situation.

Apparently a lot of other people do n’t see this logic you are talking about.

A good zerker should be able to pull of a Teq without dying, assuming that they bring along some condition removal. However, they would need to avoid every single wave.

It shouldn’t take very long to start dodging that wave.

I normally tell people to just spam jump when the waves come until it’s the phase where you need to dodge. It gets announced when he’s doing the waves over viop on my server as well. If things go well enough until that point people going down from the ones you can’t dodge should cause the entire event to fail (unless it’s like a wipe or something).

I really don’t feel this event is too hard for the vast majority of players if you give them a bit of time to learn it and explain to them what to do.

I just watch his paw and when he slams it down I dodge. He usually do it again shortly after the first one, so I dodge again. Is that so hard?

If people still can’t do it, they can go buy endurance regen food and most professions have an endurance regen build, trait, or skil of some sort(I know rangers, engineers, guardians, and warriors all have some trait or skill that augments endurance.) They can also buy a sigil of energy or two if they are really really failing. There really isn’t any excuse.

Everybody (almost) Gets an Ascended Backpiece

I doubt they would do it this way, but you really do need to be able to get an ascended backpack via wvw. I am shocked that it isn’t been addressed honestly. After all, backs were the first ascendeds available, so you’d think they would have made it into WvW by now.

Because it goes like this.
1. Give ways for better THINGS in PvE
2. Wait 6 months, say you’re working on it for WvW.
3. Release for not much less it cost then they currently are in wvw by adding 250 badges in front, even though it takes 500x longer to get those things in wvw. (Note im talking generally here, not just ascended/laurels)
4. Watch players rage, think you did well.
5. Repeat.

This is true, however it still doesn’t make sense that WvW got ascended rings and amulets but no backpieces.

If it were me I"d create a vendor that sells finishers, ascended back pieces, and skins based on WvW rank. The finishers, back pieces, and skins would cost gold and badges. The back pieces would cost laurels and badges.

I am thinking open up a new finisher for purchase every like every 100 or so wvw ranks. Open up a new skin at every 50-75 or so ranks. Open up ascended back pieces at rank either bronze raider or bronze recruit between 200-250 somewhere.

Go to orrmaps. Set it to only show chests. Go get all of the chests. Go do CoF path 1 and path 2 three times each. All of that should be able to be done inside of 2 hours. You should have 200-300 or more frags by the time you do all of that.

If you have multiple characters, you can do the chests and COF paths on those other characters.

Using this method I got my emps for my first ascended all in one day in just a couple of hours.

I know that Anet strives to be different, but sometimes they need to make sure that they are being better than what they are striving to be different from. The typical raid system is very efficient and smooth as far as access goes. You can get in with your friends and do the raid when you have all planned to do it. You don’t have to spend hours waiting in order to avoid getting booted out of the main server, and then spend hours afk if you want to retry a failed attempt.

The current Teq system is not better than a raid system. It has great potential, but right now it is very flawed. Hopefully they realize this and work on it, because honestly, the Teq fight itself has great potential. The fight itself is pretty good. It is the other pitfalls like queues, crashing, being forced to afk, buggy achievements, ect that cause the problem.

Fortunately for me I am a good spammer. I can typically get into a home map in 10 minutes if I can find someone that is in there to party with me.

I think it’s a test as to just how hard the other dragon bosses should be tuned.

So hopefully Wildstar/ EQnext comes out soon? I am definitely not staying if everything becomes this, a clusterkitten for 2 weeks and then a ghost town when event is over.

Eh, I don’t think Teq is a good reason to quit. Hopefully they are seeing the problems and intend to fix them. I honestly think that they are onto something with Teq, but a few things need to be tweaked for it to be a better experience. I needs to be challenging, but a few things have to be tweaked. Yeh I got my title due to the luck of being one of the servers that does pretty good at Teq, but I don’t think my achievements should so squarely be in the hands of others.

Meh, wildstar looks cartooni and lame. I could never play a game that looks like that for a significant amount of time. EQ I might try because everything about it looks very nice. Blizzard finally got rid of the real money auction house, so Diablo 3 is worth taking a look at now if you get into Diablo games.
