Took me five seconds.

No point trying to block IP addresses when many of these hackers are probably using Tor or other proxies and can simply change their visible region.

The real question though is how are people getting hacked? Are you using the same username/password across multiple games/email accounts, or are you responding to the flood of fake emails supposedly originating from ANet (but actually originate from China, like those Blizzard ones) about a shady account questionnaire or dodgy account access?

Giving options and ideas are fine. Starting a new thread almost daily about the same thing isn’t and is the reason why these threads tend to either get merged or locked very quickly. You want the devs to pay attention to your ideas? Then keep the discussion in a single thread where they’ll actually read it. Starting new threads day in, day out on the same topic is little more than spamming.

A couple of minis are also available from the laurel vendor as well. I can’t remember how many laurels are required though as I gave up on minis a while ago.

Precisely why PvE balance should be separated from PvP balance. As with a lot of the nerfs that has gone on over the last few months, they may work fine in PvP, but some skills simply end up feeling either underpowered or underwhelming in PvE because of it.

No, I’d rather see in-game vendors offering town clothing items that are buyable with in-game gold, especially the clothes that are already being worn by NPCs. As it is, the town clothes function is underdeveloped and at the moment, a missed opportunity especially as you have no real way of storing your overpriced gem purchases anyway.

Just use the command prompt, go into your GW2 directory and enter:

I wish people would stop taking MMO to mean forced multiplayer as well. It doesn’t. It means a persistent world with lots of players.

The problem with adding things like stat bonuses, unlockable equipment (other than skins) and additional passive talent trees as a reward is that it would cause all sorts of balancing issues, unless your intention is for these awards to remain in PvE. For PvP, it would give an unfair advantage to grinders with a lot of time on their hands over more casual players who only have a few hours a week but who enjoy PvP.

Personally, I would like to see the back of achievements altogether. Along with DRM and season/online passes, they have come to epitomise what is wrong with current-gen gaming. Achievements are little more than bragging rights or a means to control the player experience instead of allowing the player to freely explore and play the games themselves.

IMO, henchmen should not be limited to a pay-to-win mechanic, i.e. the Gem Store. They should be rentable with in-game gold and restricted to dungeons and instanced areas only.

I did. Half of your thread focused on duelling alone. Aside from being able to actually sit on chairs and the lack of bar brawling (which we’re all still waiting for), your only other complaint was the lack of “hanging out”. As I said, lots of people hang out on the Piken Square server. Perhaps you need to switch server, or at least guest on it to get a feel for it?

Privacy is a right, not a privilege. There are a large number of us out there who don’t live out our lives via Facebook, Twitter, Bebo, Myspace and so forth. We have private lives that we want to keep private.

What do we have to hide? There isn’t a single person out there who doesn’t have something to hide – including you, and the last I checked, it wasn’t a criminal offence to do so either. It’s actually common sense.

Random players do not need to know where I am in GW2, nor do they need to know the identity of my characters. If I am trolling with one character, they can report that character to ANet who would surely be able to check their logs anyway and trace that character back to the offending player. ANet need to know who’s playing what, but other players certainly don’t need to know what I do with my alts.

People do that already. Having the option to hide armour pieces will make no difference in that regard and why should some people who want to hide certain armour pieces (like gloves, boots and chest pieces) be prevented from doing so because of your perceived sensibilities? You do realise that most people will not run around naked, even if they are presented with the opportunity to do so, right? Look at AoC – you can hide everything and yet most people simply don’t.

From a roleplaying perspective, asura and several norns and sylvari NPCs don’t even wear boots, but the player has to for the stats. likewise, what’s the point in being able to choose from a selection of tattoos for norn characters if you can’t even see them?

No, it’s your opinion that Blizzard makes high quality games. I disagree. I think their games are woefully grindy generic cash cows capitalising on the games that came before them, like Everquest and MUDs.

You just need to time your dodges to get up to them.

GW1 had this timer as well. You’d get a message popping up either in chat or as an on-screen notification informing you of hours played and the same suggestion of taking a break. I’m frankly surprised GW2 never had this.

Ah, I see what you mean. I’ve just tried it and while it works on fresh searches (clicking the item again returns to the previous search), it doesn’t work on actual buy/sell lists. I can see how a back button is needed here.

Your character can be loyal to a guild if you want them to be, but I have to wonder how many people here view their characters as an in-game representation of their real selves?

I certainly don’t. My characters are merely puppets that I happen to have control over. Unless I’ve had a sex change recently, my female characters do not in any shape or form represent me at all. They are their own characters with their own personal stories. Likewise, the last time I checked, I wasn’t sprouting leaves, or resembled a ten foot tall hulk waving a ten-ton hammer about. Games for me are a way for me to escape the tedium of the real world, not an extension of it and as far as I’m concerned, this should extend to privacy as well.

GW1’s guild system annoyed me in that sense – membership being account-based meant that all my characters were automatically members of a guild even if I wanted one character to be completely guildless.

Nah, I’ll continue to play the game I’ve paid good money for and will continue to support threads like this that recommend proper privacy measures, like the ones other MMOs seem to have and this one doesn’t. Your strawman argument (go and play a single player game!) doesn’t hold up at all.

People have a right to not be followed/harassed/stalked because they decided to try out a new character, or, shock horror, wanted some time to themselves without their guildies/friends demanding their time 24/7.

We don’t all live our lives online via Facebook and Twitter (I don’t use either). Some of us expect to have control over our private lives, whether it be real life or through an online persona, and this extends to player characters too. If I want to go solo for while, then I should be able to. If I want to play a new build alone without interference, then I should be able to as well.
