Minions are great for deflecting attacks away from my squishy Necromancer’s body when she is aggroed by a large mob. Minions are also great for their imposing presence (especially when there’s four of them) when wandering bandit-infested fields when she’s out for a stroll. Want to know when they’re not so great? When my Necro walks into a settlement or an outpost and swamps every NPC and PC with her army of fiends or packs a small room with them (not through choice) when going for a pint at the local tavern.
Rangers can stow their pets away when they’re not needed. Necros can… Er, oh wait, they can’t do a thing to get rid of their minions! Therefore I propose a purge all minions hotkey, convenient for getting rid of that bad smell when walking around enclosed spaces and avoiding upsetting the locals!
dungeons should never be soloble. doesnt make any sence.
If you refer towards gw1 the henchies you will know that gw1 isnt an mmo. it was instance based. with tops 5 friends else you had the henchies. and later some heroes.
And if you dont like to make friends or talk to anyone fine.. please play a sp game skyrim.
Stop with the Skyrim recommendations. It’s getting tedious. Solo players wanting to play solo has absolutely no impact on your style of play at all. There’s nothing stopping you from spamming LA map chat for hours to pull together a five-man squad. Elitist morons demanding specific builds for dungeon speedruns affect everybody – solo players and multiplayers alike. I’m not interested in speedrunning dungeons, nor putting up with elitists who demand a gear check before each run. I want to enjoy the dungeons at my own pace, and if it means doing them solo, then so be it.
Also, to further shoot down your argument about GW1 not being an MMO because it was instance-based – guess what? The dungeons in GW2 are instanced as well! Is GW2 not an MMO then?
True story. I would really love them to add the armors in that you can earn via dungeon or karma, or something in game besides gems.
This I can agree with!
Or, Anet could add some additional armours over time to the base game. What bothers me is the ease at which people come out and say “take my money!” over what should be basic features and it’s a mentality that needs to stop – we’ve already got paid-for dance emotes because a handful of people were begging to pay for them.
I’m not paying real money to use armour from a game I’ve already paid for already.
I agree. I ended up creating my own guild just to have a useless guildname in my ID plate to stop the incessant spam. Seems to have worked so far, but really there needs to be a way to block guild invite spam.
It sounds as if the OP wants the game to become a grind and expects everyone else – casuals and hardcores alike to conform.
I don’t play to grind for hours. I play to have fun. Games should never be a second job for people.
Raise the level cap to 5000. All end-game complaints will disappear!
Yeah, right. Someone will rush though and hit it in a week and then whine about there being no endgame/raids/special gear/supadupa stats.
It’s only marginally better than the “fifteen houses for top players” idea you came up with three months ago:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Player-Housing-for-the-Top-Players/first
It simply breeds elitism and to be honest, I could think of better things I’d rather be doing than grinding the hell out of this game for one of these overpriced houses I could lose in a week because I decided to take a break from playing.
I’d say we nerfed these whiny nerf threads.
YES!!! we have the right to duel wherever and whenever we want! and dont tell me otherwise! since costume brawls can take place anywhere and i dont like them. but i have never been crying about it before! not untill now when people say that we duels fans should only be able to duel in arenas.. that just unfair! i want to be able to fight a duel with my mates when i feel like it and on any location. so dont come here with you’re “duels are fine as long as its in an arena” crap! have some sympathy! if people can read this and understand my enraged and crazy english, then i think most peaple would agree with me, and the ones who dont are Nazzi’s littaruly (and dont come at me about my spelling since english is not my first language) thank you for listening and have a nice day.
Wow. So anyone who disagrees with you is a kitten? You are seriously comparing people who disagree with your viewpoint with a bunch of bloodthirsty, jackbooted, racist mass-murderers? Wow. Just wow.
Consider yourself reported.
Here’s the thing though – I suspect a lot of people play GW2 (including myself) to get away from real world issues/events, not to be further immersed by them. I’d rather not see real-world analogues (camo uniforms, etc) in a fantasy game such as this.
The reason? Simple: GW2 is not a pay-to-win game.
For heaven’s sake, there’s plenty of threads just like yours on here already. We don’t need another one!
mujtaba, you posted this yesterday:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Low-Fps-solution-Arenanet-please-see/first#post2019239
Why start another thread on exactly the same thing?
It also doesn’t stop people you’ve blocked from knowing where you are in the world either, making it easy for them to TP to your location and spam emotes. The block feature, like privacy in general in this game is the equivalent of having a locked door in the middle of an open field.
Another week, another gank thread. These gankers really keep pushing their luck, don’t they?
You just need an NPC vendor in each city, and in all honesty, I was expecting to see NPC clothing vendors during the beta and foolishly believed that their absence was simply down to the game being in beta.
If such an option is added, then the clothing should only be purchasable with in-game gold, not gems.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Open-world-Duels-Yes-or-NO/first
There’s enough of these threads already and you, malau would’ve known this had you bothered to search for them. Your thread adds absolutely nothing new to the discussion and Belias, buying a game does not give you the explicit right to dictate to the developer how they should develop it.

Forced Grinding VS Optional Grinding
Ascended Gear only helps in Fractals (more or less) so it’s purely optional.
Legendary Weapon is exactly that. Legendary. It’s optional to have one.
Obtaining one, proves you yourself are legendary.
Both are optional, and if you choose to go after them, then do so happily and without complaint. If you don’t want to grind, then you obviously aren’t legendary enough for a legendary.
Until elitists demand full legendaries or Ascended gear sets for a dungeon run of course.
I just want the existing NPC town clothes to be available for gold via a vendor in each town/city. None of this gem store stuff (though that’s fine for those who want to spend real cash on virtual clothes) – give the town clothes function a real purpose.
OP – your post would’ve been a lot easier to read if you had bothered writing it in English instead of lazy netspeak. From what I could make out, you want a gear grind where you treat the game like a second job rather than a fun diversion. I don’t. I want a game I can jump in and out of, and that’s what GW2 is. The developers made it clear from the start what sort of game this was going to be, and I really can’t understand the mentality of people who appear to believe that games are there to act like a second job; where stats are all that matters and being “l33t” is everything.
There’s plenty of grindy MMOs out there where hundreds of hours are required just to acquire semi-decent armour just to be competitive and that’s several hundred hours I could be spending having fun instead.
I would say no to this one.
I know it can be a pain to “wait” for a group, but this is an MMO, not an offline game. Being social is the whole point.
If in a bad guild that isn’t running content together, get into another guild. You don’t even have to leave the first one here.
If unable to get enough people, use gw2lfg.com. Hopefully soon, you will have a useable in-game tool for manually building groups (/pokes devs working on LFG tool with stick).
But the solution to a social problem and a lack of good tools for finding other people is -NOT- to make it worse by turning this into a solo game. The solution is to make the guild tools and friend-finding tools better.
Sorry, but I find it hard to be “social” with elitists who demand gear checks and speedrunners who demand I skip cutscenes.
I don’t want to run dungeons at all, yet I am forced to if I wish to see my personal story through to completion. Stop assuming that solo play = antisocial. It doesn’t. People who want to run dungeons solo would otherwise not run them at all, so it makes absolutely no difference to you whatsoever.
Gosh more than 60 % of the players want dueling.
What proof do you have for this? Plucking some random number out of thin air is not proof.
Been suggested loads of times and a search for “PvE Wardrobe” would have shown this.
We don’t need any more of these threads.
Do it now.
You expect ANet to take direct orders from you? How about you use that little search box at the top of the page and post in one of the many capes threads that already exist?
There’s enough threads on this already, including one just a few posts down from this one – something you would’ve realised if you could even be bothered to search for them.
I wouldn’t. You seem to believe that because you have a problem with the TP, that everybody else does. Some may, but many do not, including me. Hell, I remember the GW1 days when players were screaming for an auction house because of all the scamming going on!
…and watch this forum get flooded with “I’ve been scammed!” threads.
No thanks. Keep the trading post the way it is.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/PvP-Masquerade-armor-outside-PvP/first
I disagree 100% with this suggestion. My stats and gear are my business, not some leeching, speedrunning elitists’.
Yes I was quite suprised by the added box to hide gloves, I hadn’t seen any requests on the forums for that, so how did that pop into their heads.
There had been several requests for this (and toggleable boots) since beta, but unlike mounts, raids, duels and gear grind, people weren’t starting new threads every other day.

As soon as any opening post makes a reference or a comparison to WoW, I just stop reading. Want a WoW-clone? Go and play one.
No. All this will do is introduce a pay-to-win mechanic that will cheapen the work that original players had put into the game (what’s the point of experiencing those quests and earning those titles when anyone can simply buy one?) and would actually deter people like me from returning to GW1.
One of the trade-offs of having a global trading post really. Loads of transactions happening in real time from all the world servers is bound to lead to some degree of lag. Just try waiting fifteen seconds, or space out each listing by waiting a couple of seconds before you place the next.
As for the people whining about how “they don’t want to have to see it”, boo hoo. Suck it up, buttercup. The game isn’t only about you, and you shouldn’t even care about what other people are doing.
This game isn’t only about you either… Buttercup.
Just as much as you duellists like to make your voices heard, so do we anti-duellists. That’s what discussions are all about – opposing views.
If you read my post you’d see I don’t even care to duel myself, I just think that denying other people that ability because “you don’t like seeing people dueling” is absolutely ridiculous. If you have some legitimate concern about why they shouldn’t be allowed, I respect your opinion. I don’t however, respect the opinion of someone who doesn’t want people to be able to enjoy something simply because they personally don’t like seeing people enjoy something.
My main gripe (besides the attitudes of some of the pro-duellers here) is that the game engine/server clearly can’t even handle drawing more than twenty or so NPCs/players at a time in crowded areas and resorts to extensive culling to keep the visible population down. I’ve noticed that one of the side effects of the costume brawl system is the trade-off between particle effects and the number of visible NPCs/players on-screen. People duelling all over the place would exacerbate that, unless ANet remove culling altogether.
Another problem I have with duelling is that some people want open-world PvP. Whilst it may be consensual, it will result on a lot of people not contributing to the dynamic events because they’re too busy spamming duel requests or showing off instead of contributing to the main battles that are going on.
If you want duels, then fine but restrict them to special arenas and make sure that there is an auto-decline option available by default.
I also approve of this message. At least the “hide gloves” option is a step forward because it means I can stop wasting transmutation stones on creating the least-visible gloves for my character.

why you are talking about lvl ? characters will recieve pvp traits and armor and everyone would be equal . Mobs will hit them but they won`t deal any dmg to mobs,or lower than in pve armor . Its my opinion .
Tumbero specifically mentioned “PK-style”. To me, that sound a lot like the same ganking nonsense you get in other open-world PvP games. He attacks PvE players because they want to play PvE and insists that (in a manner of speaking – hard to tell with the gibberish he was writing, TBH), PvEers are scared of PvPers like him.
It sounds like he’s not really interested in duelling at all, but the ability to gank anyone he wishes, whenever he wants. If his views are representative of duellers in general though, then I am 100% against it.
Really , so if gw2 add pk style u all have a special heart attack?
The pve players , are only a base of hellokity games nothing more.
1) all u do is pve , cause u cant pvp another one, why? u are afraid and a terrible pvp player.
2) The pve players never want to do pvp , cause they skill play is terrible they only want to figths mobs , cause mobs cant think really and vs another player they fell inferior.
People like you, throwing around childish insults in badly-written English are the reason I hope ANet never introduce duelling.
There’s plenty of other games out there for so-called illiterate elitists to bask in their own ego whilst ganking lv1 noobs. GW2 isn’t one of them.

Yeah, if only Lunatic had actually bothered reading the video description for that Youtube video, he would’ve seen the “official” thread link there…
Seriously though, these constant reposts are starting to smell of spam to me.
Something wrong with the other three open mounts threads that you felt the need to start yet another one?
The topic of mounts is not dead. ALOT of people would like mounts.
If “alot” (it’s a lot by the way – “alot” means something else entirely) of people would like mounts as you say, then how come this thread, which is now two months old, is only two pages long? Surely if loads of people instead of just a handful wanted mounts, then many more would already be posting here?
I don’t know what this “great community” you refer to actually is. In other games, duelling usually brought with it constant duel request spam during events/farming sessions, derogatory whispers/tells and even more derogatory PMs.
In one such game (RoM) before they implemented an auto-reject feature, my ignore list had grown so big I had actually hit the limit (1000) because of all the morons who kept spamming me duel requests.
Yeah, “great” community.
I vote for an instaban for the next person to spam this video, especially as the Youtube description already links to the “official” thread here.
It sounds like the OP needs to grow up. No adult would open a thread by declaring his intent to troll a forum and then close it again with derogatory remarks aimed at anyone who disagrees with him.
Now this is a story, all about how, some people need to see mount threads all around, and I wana take a minute while you sit right there, and explain to you all how these threads pull out my hair. Queue music. \.O./
In Divinity’s Reach I was born and raised,
On the alleys and streets I spent most of my days,
Chillin and relaxin’, not lookin’ the fool,
Don’t need no horses, no flashy mounts to look “cool”
When a couple of guys hit 80 in a week,
Started demanding loads of mounts, and duels in the streets,
With one big sigh I took a deep breath,
Said it’s time to put all this silly nonsense to bed.I shouted for a dev and when he was near
his tag said Banhammer and he put the mount posters to fear
If I could do anything, it was to stop and stare
but instead I replied with a,“hey look, over there!”
The Banhammer came down, strikin’ all seven or eight,
And I yelled to the dev, “thanks for making this place saner!”
And I looked to the Thieves sat hidden in the corner,
and said “sorry guys, you’re gettin’ nerfed later.”
