I think I haven’t got a clue what the hell you’re on about.
- Advanced blocking, for emote spamming and/or roleplay trolling.
Is /ignore not enough?
As most RPers do their roleplaying through emotes and the /ignore function doesn’t actually block emotes from blocked users at all, then no.
As it stands, if I was to block someone, they could still harass me using emotes and I would still see a load of emote spam in my chat window.
Yes to gloves and boots, but chest and leggings… Eh, not for me, but certainly with Norns, it seems rather pointless having all those tattoos all over their skin if nobody can actually see them.
Chances of this being implemented? Well, let’s just say this has been requested countless times already (nowhere near as many as mounts and duels, mind you) and there has been nothing but stony silence on the matter.
I love all this “we” stuff that people keep spouting, as if they speak for every single player in the game.
I also love the way that some people simply refuse to use the search function because they believe that their own suggestion is oh-so-special and can’t possibly have been mentioned a million times already.
games trash and will continue to be trash…
Bit like your command of the English language really. Also, if the game’s “trash” to you, then go off and play something else. Nobody cares.
This is clearly a trolling thread.
But really, no. My Norn warrior would look hilarious if he was covered in Sylvari related leaves. And not in a good way.
You could argue he was honouring the spirit of the Sylvari – Think about it – a Sylvari hound’s head for a helmet and heavily-pressed Sylvaris for a cape and pants!
Every time someone fires off yet another mount thread and refuses to use the search function, Dwayna kills a baby Quaggan.
You called ANet arrogant twice in two threads (one locked) and then demand they listen to your suggestion?
oh please… in which previous thread I’ve mentioned arrogance ? Dont reffer to threads you didnt read at all or didnt read properly
Ah right, you didn’t mention arrogance in your previous thread. My apologies, but you did resort to a lot of ranting and raving in it:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Diminishing-Returns-1/first#post1370121
I want kittening answer to this by Anet
ANet are not obliged to give you a personal answer.
You called ANet arrogant twice in two threads (one locked) and then demand they listen to your suggestion?
I have a feeling that you are playing the wrong genre. MMOs are all about playing with other people. You may wanna try out some great sRpgs like The Witcher 2
Redundant argument. MMO simply means “massively multiplayer online”, i.e. many people playing the same game on the same servers at the same time. It does not mean having to play as a group 24/7.
I would like to see a solo/scale mode for dungeons for the simple reason that there are times where I want to actually explore the dungeon rather than speedrun it like the majority of people always seem to want to do. Also, it means not having to put up with insufferable elitists who demand gear linkage before or during a run, nor does it mean having to put up with morons who elect to boot you out after the final boss.
It would be far, far easier for people to start ignoring these mount spam threads.
No, I would not like to see this. It is already awkward trying to play alts without people on my friends list knowing (online status set to invisible) so the last thing I want to see is my account name plastered on the chat channels if I’m chatting to randoms in towns.
In fact, as far as I’m concerned, your account name should not be visible anywhere in the game.
Dodge is about the only daily I have issue with and that’s because the game doesn’t always appear to register a successful dodge, no matter how many times I do it.
For instance, this morning I spent nearly half an hour dodging attacks from Tamini Archers in Queensdale. Out of the nearly one hundred or so dodges I made, nearly half of those did not register as such, despite the projectiles clearly passing by me and my character taking no damage. Only in those instances when “evaded” appeared did they count, despite there being no discernible difference between these ‘real’ dodges and all the other damage-repelling dodges I had made.
I would like to remove pants and legs too.
Wouldn’t that just leave you with a hovering torso?
I don’t think so that it resolve problem, are too many immigrants in UK
Many of them speaking far better English than we natives!
I do not accept meaningless replies.
I do not accept your terms. Fortunately the forums accept mine…
Meaningless
Pretty much sums up your post.
Fact is, it is ANet who run these forums and not you. It is they who decide if a post is meaningless or not. From reading your five-part essay above and your previous thread that ended up getting locked, it is abundantly clear that you are not interested in a healthy discussion but instead are only interested in replies that support your position.
Sorry to disappoint you.
Your opinion is not the measure of things and you might look into the principle of OPTIONAL.
Neither’s yours. My opinion is that I’m sick to death of seeing the same threads over and over again started by people who can’t be bothered to use the search function.
I’d like to see what people are wearing, I might want to look for it myself.
Here’s a thought: Why not ask them? You don’t need an /inspect option for that.
Discussed too many times already and my opinion of it has not changed.
NO.
Ok then here’s a few:
Salvage 10 items
Loot 10 (or 50?) silver
Identify a dye (or 5?)
Gain a level (or SP by leveling up)
Sell an item on TP
Have a mini accompany you for 5 minutes
Complete a jumping puzzle
1) Ok.
2) What do you mean? Loot items that are collectively worth 50 silver or literally loot 50 silver? Bit grindy either way.
3) Assuming a good dye droprate. Playing for two hours this morning I received a single dye drop. Grindy.
4) Doable.
5) Doable.
6) No. Minis cost real money, so by making this a daily requirement, you have effectively introduced a pay2win mechanic.
7) Leave that to the monthlies.
I don’t think it ever actually disappears, rather it gets lost amidst the plethora of particle effects. And because it’s a rather neutral gold colour, it’s hard to pick out when you need to. Rather frustratingly, I usually end up flailing my mouse around in the hopes I’ll be able to spot the movement synchronised to my hand amidst the combat chaos.
Nope, it does actually disappear. I used to think I was losing it amongst all the particle effects and the like until I deliberately kept an eye on the pointer only to see it literally vanish before my eyes and the only way I could get it back was by moving the mouse around. I’ve had this happen both in combat and out of combat when I’m using salvage kits in my inventory.
Hi, I’m sure this has already been suggested by other players
Yes, it has and a search would have told you so.
I think ANet should start with figuring out why the mouse pointer randomly disappears in the first place.
I dont want PvE idiots running around in WvW taking up spots.
Last time I checked, this was Anet’s game, not yours.
If I, as a PvE player want to take up a spot in WvW then I’ll kitten well do so.
One way around that is to guest on a low population server.
At no point do you offer up a suggestion as to what skillful play is. We’re not mindreaders, though we probably can spell “replies”.

So, why you’re expecting ANet to personally reply to your thread is anyone’s guess.
(edited by uknortherner.2670)
It may be possible that ANet could add some sort of GvG system in future, especially as they have talked about GW2 being part of the esports scene in the past.
To be honest, one of the things I like about GW1 was the ability to spectate GvG battles so from that perspective, I would like to see something like that return in GW2.
Who is this “we” you’re referring to, OP? I for one, like the new dailies as they provide more of a challenge.
Why are people so incapable of understanding that the name Guild Wars has absolutely nothing to do with PvP and everything to do with the game’s lore?
Also, you ask if the devs read these threads. Probably. Do they have to provide a personalised answer to your thread? No.

I wonder if we can achieve the impossible and go one day without a mount thread.
Is your own personal filter broken? You saw the title but didn’t have to read it.
When I see a title about something I’ve either already seen or don’t care about it, I generally don’t read it.
From ANet’s Code of Conduct:
You agree to the following guidelines, which will help cultivate a user-friendly environment in the Guild Wars 2 Forums:
- Read the forum before asking a question. There’s a good chance your question has already been answered.
- Use the search function before posting. This will focus the discussion and facilitate a response.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/rules
The OP and all the other mount-spam thread starters have failed to do either of these.
Hmm… Come to think of it, this one may apply too:
- Avoid frivolous and duplicate postings.
(edited by uknortherner.2670)
Maybe if we all start ignoring these silly mount threads then they’ll simply go away…
Tyria isn’t a middle ages version of Earth. Try again.
It’s the main reason why I have the “double-tap to evade” option turned off and the dodge action remapped to the middle mouse button. I found myself rolling around far too often and this set up gives me far more control over it.
Suggestion: Use the “search” function.
I think the same needs to apply to items listed as well. A one-month expiry limit before the seller has to relist their items. At the moment, there are items on there that no human being has any hope of actually purchasing because the asking price is so ludicrously high.
People placing orders below the vendor price should be stopped from doing so. The number of orders priced at 1c which no seller can even fulfill (though why would they want to?) are high at the moment and a waste of time.
It’s time spam threads like this were banned, especially when there’s already three of them on the first page and once again the OP clearly could not be bothered to use the search function/read the other threads.
No to mounts, and the fact these threads keep getting locked should give you pro-mount spammers a clue on ANet’s position.
This example, mean nothing… how much time you lose just for this challenge? if the naked player was at fully potential maybe the others die less, and maybe all of you finish the dungeon in less time.
The last time I checked, this was a game and not a second job. How much time did I lose? Don’t know, don’t care. How much fun did I have running with this naked nutter? A lot.
I agree when you say that player skill is important, but all of you are totally wrong when you think that the MF user is skilled then the others. At parity of player skill, an MF user is a burden for the party.
Yet, as I pointed out, a player wearing no gear at all still did not bring the rest of the team down, so how does someone wearing MF do the opposite? You agree with me that it’s player skill that is important, yet you keep returning to cold hard stats to back up your anti-MF argument.
@uknortherner
You wrote a nice little story, but I personally don’t care for it. So, now you want to talk about skill versus magic find? I’d rather not even talk about it with you since you seem to be rude and ramble on about nothing.
After reading your other posts here, I can say pretty much the same for you. You have ignored the reasons offered and resorted to 1) tarring all MF users with the same brush, and 2) calling me rude and rambling for no apparent reason. At least Ganzo engaged with my points made rather than resorting to personal attacks.
@zerorains: A couple of months ago I ran a dungeon with a random group, including one player who decided he wasn’t going to bother wearing any gear at all, “because he wanted a challenge”. The rest of us ran with it thinking he would go down at the first hurdle.
Not only did he never go down at all, but he also put the rest of us to shame by rezzing us when we entered the downed state. Why? Because he knew what he was doing.
Short version: MF arguments are irrelevant and skill is clearly all that matters. Stop looking for excuses because you suck at dungeon runs.
The problem Kaimick is that there’s an increasing number of people who have come over to GW2 from other MMOs and they simply refuse to shake off the old way of thinking, i.e. stats = success. GW2 as we know is a skill-based game, unlike other well-known panda-based products which are little more than a button-mash.
I’ve seen LFGs on my server in LA where people are specifically requesting Warriors, Elementalists and Guardians for their groups, as if the old Holy Trinity even exists in this game. In one case, I saw someone put out a “no MF/must be able to take orders” request and unsurprisingly, three hours later, that same person was still trying to put together a group for Fractals long after other people had run it multiple times.
Discussed to death already. The search function exists for a reason you know.
Oh, I’m -so- sorry that I didn’t scroll through the entire thread just to read every message you may have typed, and consider its implications.
Right, so you freely admit to not bothering to read up the rest of this thread before launching an attack on me, yet you still think your point stands?
Actually, don’t bother replying – I seriously doubt you bothered to read this post anyway.
Call me a fool again, and I WILL report you.
Strange how my female friends don’t seem to have a problem with the skimpy armour in this game. Guess they’re just normal human beings rather than pseudo-intellectuals.
I’m a female gamer and I DO have a problem with it. Your female friends do not account for all female gamers. Also, your assertion that only “abnormal people” care about this issue is completely false, and quite frankly, it makes you look like a fool.
Did you even bother to read the rest of my responses at all? I made it clear that I was using it as a counter-argument to Mungrul’s assertion that all women are either offended by this skimpy clothing or that they should be.
Try reading the rest of the conversation next time.
(edited by uknortherner.2670)
Yes to this. Far too frustrating to be taking on a champion boss and having my character switch target to a rabbit or a cow or something else at random, especially when that something else is a good distance away and my character’s using melee weapons.
Even more annoying when my character’s in a downed state and always autotargets something well beyond reach.
Ok, Uknortherner, not all women have the same opinion. Just because you have a lot of female friends that like the outfits, does not mean all women are fine with them.
I never suggested otherwise. I was countering Mungrel’s suggestion that all women found the clothing offensive (and if they didn’t then they should), which they clearly don’t.
I see you failed to address the little fact that I have female friends who don’t have a problem with the armour in this game. If they haven’t got a problem with it (and yes, they play the bloody game), why should you?
Strange how my female friends don’t seem to have a problem with the skimpy armour in this game. Guess they’re just normal human beings rather than pseudo-intellectuals.
All the more reason why I’m in favour of single player/scalable dungeons. That way I don’t have to waste my time dealing with elitist dead weights.
