I normally berate people for not using the search function, but having tried it myself earlier, it is completely broken (never used to be). I’m finding that I have to use Firefox’s own search function to check thread titles.

You know, OP, had you simply posted a list of suggestions on a suggestions subforum of all places, then other players may have actually sat up and paid attention to what you had to say. Instead, you went for a “I quit!” post (which isn’t a suggestion and is actually against the forum’s Code of Conduct) and then hyped up a rival MMO.

The fact you managed to post a list of suggestions the second time around doesn’t cut it. That list should’ve been your opening post, not a “GW2 sucks, Wildstar rocks!” post.

Not really. It would simply allow trolls to neg anyone they like, without leaving feedback and often without even reading the thread. We see this sort of thing happen on YouTube all the time with mass-negging runs by people with some kind of vendetta against certain video uploaders.

Show/hide armour to include boots and possibly chest armour for male characters. Having said that, Rift allows the player to hide all armour pieces and I’ve rarely seen anyone running around naked. Purchasable NPC town clothing – Mitigate the total lack of lore-friendly town clothing by allowing us to wear what the NPCs are wearing. In-game currency only, no Gems/cash shop.

Better interactions with the world – for this I mean the ability to sit on chairs, sleep on beds and even some smalltalk with the NPCs. Just something really to make the world appear more interesting from an RP perspective.

Non-broken small UI scale – Just echoing what Sanctus wrote above. Playing on a 5:4 monitor, Small UI is (or would be) a must if it worked properly.

Even Rift lets you toggle everything, and I’ve very rarely seen people running around naked.

As far as going barefoot goes – Queen Jennah does it. Many norns also do it as do the Asura and the Sylvari. Even the human elementalist trainers are barefoot, yet my elementalist can’t do the same unless I want to sacrifice stats and at level 80, you need to be running a complete set of gear otherwise the penalty can be harsh.

I agree that for PvP all equipment should be visible regardless as it’s the only way to gauge what class people are playing, but for PvE? No, give us the options to play around around with armour visibility, especially since some boots simply don’t work well with their respective leg/chest pieces.

Still, at least we managed to get a toggle option on gloves in the end.

I was expecting more to be done with the town clothes to be honest. An in-game clothes merchant NPC selling town clothing for gold was the least I was expecting. As it is, my characters still cannot wear the same clothing that the NPCs wear and the clothing available for real cash is so immersion-breaking that I don’t even know where to start…

Raids: No. Couldn’t think of anything more dull and tedious. Apparently, they’re happening anyway though – should keep the dudebro brigade happy.

End game blah blah blah: Starts at level 1.

Roles/trinity: No, I’d rather play my game my way, rather than have a role dictated to me by people with little imagination.

I think I’ve seen it all now. Apparently, only people who buy Gems are entitled to an opinion on this game and indeed, on these forums. As far as I’m aware, I spent real money on buying this game in the first place, so therefore I have supported this game. My opinion is no less important than yours because I refuse to spend money on fluff items.

Well then they wouldn’t be cosmetic, would they? Also, what would you consider to be a reasonable speed boost? All professions already have some kind of on-foot speed boost be it through signets or other means.

Adding speed boosts to “cosmetic” mounts (especially boosts of 50% or more) will simply lead to a chorus of “the world is too small!”.

We already have cosmetic mounts and it’s clearly not enough for the mount brigade. Soon they will want speed-boosts, mounted combat, mounts with stats, flying mounts and so on, all because “other MMOs have them”. Where will it stop?

GW2 wasn’t designed with mounts in mind, especially flying mounts. The maps are zoned, not seamless and I can’t imagine anything more annoying than an idiot on his flashy oversized sparkly mount purposely blocking/obscuring jumping puzzle platforms.

I’ve yet to see any kind of proof that a moaning elitist is a far better player than a player with MF gear. The last time I checked, it’s skill, not stats that matter in this game.

Oh, but I forgot, elitists aren’t interested in enjoying GW2 – they’re just in it for the loot and treat it like a second job. After all, it must be really detrimental to them that they might have to spend an extra second or two speedrunning a dungeon because some sneaky MF user has infiltrated their precious MF-free ubergroup.

I also hear the same old argument being trotted out that the rest of the group is carrying the MF user? Are you really so sure about that? In that case, there’s a definite need for this option then and it would make a lot more sense considering we can already hide helmets, shoulder gear and gloves and as you said above, it would allow for more visual customisation. Having yet to acquire any exotics I wasn’t aware of these additional stats.

No. Jumping puzzles would become redundant and people will start complaining about glitchy graphics and being unable to fly over the racial cities.

I actually thought this would be an option when I saw those developer videos showing off the elementalist’s weapons and spells and I had decided right then that my elementalist was going to resemble the one in the videos. So you can imagine my surprise in the open beta when not even helmet visibility was toggleable!

I’m not overly convinced that the stat hit from my elementalist not wearing shoes is actually that great, unless there’s an additional bonus for wearing a full set of specific (conjurer or other) armour. I know that rares have additional stats that only become active if you wear multiple items of the same type, but you only need four pieces of armour for that to take effect and my ele already has that covered (chest, legs, gloves, headgear).

Still want to see this option though.

Not really true for the gloves and helmets. They became toggleable because people requested it. Anet seem to either be ignoring requests for a hide footwear (these requests were usually included in the various hide gloves threads) option, or it’s planned, but just very low down in the priority list behind a flood of bug issues.

How, exactly, will it bring more people together? I know that the first thing I’ll be doing if anyone tries spamming me with duel requests will be to block the sender.

Inspecting is actually a great idea – people who kick because of bad gear already make gear checks so nothing would change.

So? Most of those explanations are correct: It will breed elitism, and there’s enough of that in the game already.

If you want to know what gear someone is wearing, ask them!

I am strongly against mounts (as I’ve said may times before) but if stats-based mounts are implemented then every character has to have one by default to prevent balancing issues and pay-to-win mechanics in PvP.

No, apparently it’s perfectly fine to spam the same subject over and over again; never bothering to use the search function to read all those old threads that keep getting locked, and still managing to never come up with something new than “it’s such an easy change to implement”.

I love the way these ‘wronged’ players refuse to take responsibility for their own actions and go out in full whine mode on the forums. It’s always somebody else’s fault.

I suppose this this the result of the “I know my rights” culture we live in these days. Yes, you know your rights, but since when did your responsibilities become everyone else’s problem to deal with?

The opposing gender’s armour meshes would have to be reworked to fit both male and female characters which would take time. However, anything that offers more armour options can only be a good thing IMO.

DR on Piken Square server is usually busy with people. Roleplayers mainly but it’s the only version I’ve come across so far (and I’ve guested on many other servers) where the taverns are actually populated with players.

Took me a moment to decipher that wall of text there. So – “Guild Wars” to you means guilds and wars, right? NO. It refers to the lore and the game’s backstory, which you would’ve known about as you claim to have followed GW1’s story – try consulting the Wiki.

GW1 not being an MMO? I didn’t say otherwise. I said that your suggestion that GW1 wasn’t an MMO because it was instanced would also mean that GW2 can’t be one either because the dungeons are instanced. Completely different point.
