Not another one of these threads… Tired of your human? ROLL A NEW CHARACTER.
It’s interesting to see that QueenHysteria.1084 has made no effort in contributing any further to the thread she started four days ago.
The key issue for me is that GW2 introduced forced levelling complete with tiered armour and weapons, because that’s what the MMO gaming community (read: WoW players) wanted. Yes, GW1 had a levelling system too, but getting to level 20 (max level) took perhaps a few days at most, and then it was down to your skills, build and abilities to carry you through to the rest of the game. You could truly craft your character to match your own play style in the first game as well as freely swap out abilities to see which combination worked best for you.
I have one main and three alts in GW2. I recently rolled an Elementalist again after I ditched my old one six months ago because even at level 80, she was about as powerful as a wet paper bag against even level 10 mobs and as squishy as a wet sponge. Annoyingly, rerolling one six months later, and she can barely hold her own against a couple of bandits (she’s lvl 29 and the bandits are lvl 8), no matter what weapon combo or build setup I try – it seems that the Elementalist is weaker than ever and a far cry from the powerful class I beta tested. Worst still, she actually manages to become weaker and weaker as she levels up, despite possessing the highest level armour/weapons for her level. My level 80 Necromancer (my main) however can steamroll through just about anything in comparison and still protect herself even against the toughest of mobs (except high level champions), so I’m more inclined to play that character instead.
Although I play alts, it often feels like there’s far too much work required in getting anything resembling a useful build, especially just for PvE. I don’t play PvP but it annoys me no end that all the nerfs and boosts made to PvP classes also apply to PvE classes as well which can render my alts practically useless overnight.
As for a sidekick system, I would much rather see the ability to take my alts into dungeons, along with the henchmen from GW1 instead of having to rely on PUGs or moaning elitists demanding full zerker builds.
I hope that ArenaNet does something about it, the server is an English Server. I dont mind people speaking in their Native language. But I want them to keep it in a channel where others dont mind. And specially not public channels like /say and /map
As was pointed out in the previous thread, there is no such thing as an “English” server. Any server not labelled as a specific language (e.g. [FR], [DE], etc) is international and anyone is free to speak any language they like in those servers. What you should be pressing ANet for is an English-only server.
Thats’ only on map chat. Most, if not all RP I’ve come across on PS is on local chat. True, the train spam is getting a little tiresome – I watched for nearly an hour this morning as an argument raged on and on about people skipping ahead or triggering champion events (i.e. Larry the Troll – yes, he has a name!) without ‘consent’.
Personally, as far as these trains go, they’re fine if people want to run them, but for some of us who want to take on the champ bandit or troll, why should we have to stand around, waiting? Anyway, a bit off topic, so I’ll stop there.
Although I’m not an RPer myself (I picked PS for immersion purposes), there’s a fair number of large, active RP guilds who regularly hold open world RP events, usually around Queensdale, but possibly in other places too.
Clearly reading comprehension isn’t your strongest point, is it Shirk? Shock horror, people are roleplaying in a ROLE PLAYING GAME. If you didn’t want a load of RPers “spamming” your precious chatbox, then perhaps you should’ve gone for a non-RP game then, like Call of Dudebro: Dogs or Battleman 7 or whatever.

Next time I just flood them aswell, I mean what’s /e made for?
Alternatively, you could just grow up and realise that there are other players out there who are perfectly entitled to play the game they’ve paid for, any way they see fit.
You’ve been told how to turn emotes off, so why not do it?
(edited by uknortherner.2670)
Give the roleplayers an own server so we don’t have to read this whole senseless spamming everywhere we go.
Better still, why don’t you move to a server that isn’t Piken Square or Tarnished Coast? It’s not as if there’s a shortage of empty servers for you to go to.
After trawling through the gutter that goes by the name of LFG, I want to see the return of the heroes/henchmen system as well. At least that way, I don’t have to put up with people who demand full zerker gear and speedruns. I want to enjoy the dungeons I’m running.
Been discussed loads of times already with next to no movement on ANet’s part. Some people are convinced that giving the option to hide everything will result in loads of people running around in their underwear, yet in other games I’ve played like Rift, Runes of Magic and Age of Conan where these options already exist, I’ve rarely seen anyone running around naked, not even in Age of Conan where full nudity is possible.
It was enough of an uphill struggle just to get hideable headgear and gloves in this game!
You people are wasting your time trying to convince the PvP gankheads on here that Guild Wars refers to the lore. They simply aren’t interested.
Want to know what gear people are wearing? ASK THEM.
Duelling? Far from being “cool” to watch a couple of tools in legendary gear fight each other, it would be tedious to watch. Also, “dool me brah!” and “u scared, brah!” spam? No thanks.
personally, i am for inspect, but if someone believes a tool will create “elitism” there is simply no way to convince them otherwise.
Sadly, the behaviour of some /inspect supporters on other such threads in the past has served to reinforce this impression. From accusations of Magic Find users “leeching” off hard-working zerkers to the expectation that all players ‘conform’ to an elitist’s world view were pretty evident. Skill is something that is seen as an irrelevance compared to four-digit DPS counts.

OP, don’t use the Q/A function if you’re not asking a question.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Change-race-order-facility/first
It was on the second page for heaven’s sake.
Once again, I fail to see how the OP can work his way up to level 80 and then decide he didn’t like the race he was playing…
Try to imagine a Charr in a bikini and sandals.
Yeah, forcing teamplay on people who prefer to spend a lot of their time soloing is a no-no from me.
Not a question.
FYI, petitions go directly against ANet’s forum Code of Conduct. You might want to rethink that title, OP.
While they’re at it, can they fix the unreadable font that comes with the lowest setting? I play at a resolution of 1280×1024 and the font rendering is heavily corrupted from a readability perspective.
Then their position hasn’t changed since that time then. Let it go – it’s not happening.
The fanaticism of some people who really can’t take “no” for an answer really astounds me. It reminds me of the EU and the various “no” results in national referendums relating to shady treaties that people want nothing to do with – “No” is the incorrect answer, and you will vote again until you learn to vote the “correct” way, except here, “no” is the wrong answer and we will continue to hassle you until you change your mind.
(edited by uknortherner.2670)
Uknorthener , btw you take the disturb to find this answer, please look also at the date.
After that,go,and google "gw2 race change " and you will find some recent answer.this is what i’ve said :
“apart from the first 2/3 months when there was a “never”,is now not anymore a taboo for anet, and is something like “we don’t give this option AT THE MOMENT”.I told that in the first 2/3 months ,the answer WAS “NEVER” ,but as usual, the word “never” is abused, and,if you go look at the most recent devs repsonce,no one says “NEVER” anymore, instead they keep answering that there is “nothing on the table AT MOMENT”,and…even if my english is barely understandble,i think i can get the meaning of “AT THE MOMENT”.
Just because you do not like this particular fact doesn’t make it any less true. ;D
I’ve read the date of that post – 1st October 2013. THIS MONTH. Also, someone in this thread below posted a response they got from ANet stating the same thing – you should know, because you posted enough in it!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Change-race-order-facility/first
(edited by uknortherner.2670)
“Anet has already said this will never happen” = FALSE .
Generally all the statements with “never, ever, forever, etc” are false :P .
Especially this one on the race change, that, apart from the first 2/3 months when there was a “never”,is now not anymore a taboo for anet, and is something like “we don’t give this option AT THE MOMENT”.
Things may(will) change, considering all the soulbound things they add in the game;one day, they will be like “forced” from themself to give such option.
Anet has already stated that race change will NOT be an option:
http://guildwars2.mmmos.com/?page=view&id=2445&title=race-change-not-happening
“CC Eva, Community Coordinator
Hi everyone.
Thanks for asking. To change the race in the Gem store will not be an option in Guild Wars 2."
Just because you do not like this particular fact doesn’t make it any less true.
Anet has already said this will never happen, and personally I refuse to believe that you can take a character to level 80 only to then realise you don’t like that character’s race.
Roll a new character and get over it.
There’s already been over forty threads on the tedious subject of mounts and player houses. GW2 does not “need” mounts in any shape or form. Waypoints exist for a reason.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Think-Mounts-outside-the-box/first
Dungeons are already unplayable/restricted as it is thanks to the rampant elitism that goes on (just look at the descriptions that people use for groups in the LFG tool). Why give these elitist clowns another tool to further fuel their egos?
OP, don’t flag your post as a question if you’re not going to ask one. Firstly, it’s annoying and secondly, it removes the +1 option next to your post making it hard to support your idea.
As a PvE player, I am all for a complete separation of PvE and W3. I’m not interested in PvP, yet I have to venture into W3 to collect mats and to work on certain achievements.
This is not a question.
Try putting “site:forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/game/suggestions duels” (no quotes) in Google to see all the duel discussions that have gone on over the last year.
Why has this been flagged as a question?
Never going to happen and nor should it.
I was probably one of only a small number of people who was almost turned off completely from Skyrim when Bethesda announced their would be marriage/spouses in that game. It just seemed unnecessary, even from an RP perspective, especially as it turned out that these spouses were practically useless for anything except a bit of virtual company in a virtual house that I would rarely visit. Unlike the housecarls, you couldn’t enlist them followers who could aid you in a fight.
For some reason this suggestion reminds me of that, except with a Sims element of playing dress-up. Unless these spouses can also act as followers/heroes/henchmen (and therefore make soloing some dungeons a more realistic prospect) then I don’t really see the point.
Unless there is way to turn it off, I wouldn`t want to be having to look at barefoot characters in lions arch all day. Most people run faster barefoot so this would probably give some people an edge over another. Besides we already have waypoints, what do you need to be barefoot for?
I really couldn`t resist. Kind of stinks when the shoe is on the other foot huh? Oh wait, there is no shoes! Haha I got you again! I got you again!
Actually it wouldn`t be tough for them to have an on/off toggle for each body part like they do for the helm and shoulders. I truly hope they give you the option that you ask for, even though it isn`t something I`d want for myself.
I ain’t budging on mounts!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Toggle-gear-display-on-off/first
Come up a few times, but there seems to be little interest in adding such an option either from other players or ANet – Frustrating as there are already NPCs including Queen Jennah, Norn, Sylvari and many Asura who seem to do fine without footwear.
If I want my human female elementalist to resemble the NPC trainer, it’s annoying that I have to take a stat hit in order to do so.
Still no valid reasons or arguments besides warcraft, I`m too poor, and balance issues that are already addressed and buying another game engine. Keep them coming.
Plenty of valid reasons, but you have simply decided that nothing less than mounts will do, no matter what other players think.
(edited by uknortherner.2670)
-1: We already have an in-game “barber.” It’s called a Self-Style Hair Kit and it’s available in the Gem Store. Even better, we just got 3 new hairdos per character, and they are quite nice (at least for us females). So I respectfully suggest that no change is needed for this.
I disagree. We have all paid well above the average PC price for this game and yet the presence of the Gem Store continues to make me feel like I’ve bought an unfinished product. I may as well install a credit card reader in my PC just in case I want to make my character look slightly different to everyone else.
This game needs the ability to change hairstyles/purchase NPC town clothing in-game with in-game gold. For the overpriced Gem Store clothing items, there needs to be a way to reclaim clothing items if they have been accidentally deleted like there was in GW1. A proper wardrobe system would help too.
Although this thread is eleven months old, my position on it hasn’t changed. I still want to see more gear toggle options, even if options like chest armour visibility are only available to male characters. I still want to see a toggle visibility option for boots, but I doubt we’ll see any real action on any of this because even within these forums, there doesn’t appear to be that much interest.
(edited by uknortherner.2670)
There’s already a thread on mounts. In fact, there’s already been 46+ of them. Why start another one?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Mounts-46/first
Look at the search bar of your internet browser.
It says …/suggestions/Mounts-46
This means that this is the 46th thread that had the title ‘Mounts’, meaning that 45 people before you thought it was a good idea to post a thread about Mounts. That means that this thread is 45 times more pointless than any last thread about this beaten-to-death topic.
No.
Now stop suggesting it.
I truly hope that one day if you ever make a post to support something you like. A flood of naysayers like yourself will rush to chime in with pointless comments like you made.
Well, considering that the OP has made no further contributions to this thread in any shape or form since he started it, it should just be allowed to die since he clearly wasn’t bothered about engaging in any meaningful discussion over it. It seems that it’s only really you and the odd drive-by supporter who’s keeping this thread on life support now.
You are pushing down possibly good suggestions with more mount threads.
Some of us think mounts are good suggestion. You don`t see me naysaying anything you support do you?
Emphasis on some. The majority of GW2 players could not give a toss about mounts or how other MMOs are somehow uber-amazing because they have sparkly flying unicorns for $18 each.
Just to be clear. I’m generally agaist such solution, but the amount of hate, trolling and other generally bad behavior on this forums is jut beyond ridicuouls.
Force real world last and first names on forums, instead of nicknames. It probably won’t shut up come persons, but at least most of people will think twice before posting something stupid.
If only you thought twice before starting this thread, eh?
It’s a ridiculous suggestion. The trolls would remain (but I’d imagine the majority of players would leave overnight) but now they are armed with their victims’ real names which they can then use to find the real world locations of those people. Before long, those trolls have become stalkers or worse.
OP:
1) You flagged your wall of text as a question when you’re not asking one. Don’t do that.
2) There is already a thread on this, and it was only a few threads down from your own:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Change-race-order-facility/first
Why has the OP flagged this thread as a question if he isn’t going to ask one?
How is this a question?
The whole point of a non-sub game (or B2P) is that you can drop in and out of it at any time, be it days, months or even years.
To the OP, you do not have a right to claim a name that someone else has already taken for their character just because you’re late to the party. This is a nonsensical idea, frankly.
Hello i had recently been thinking that helping players get around a little faster would be nice! You could have different amounts of speeds for each level. You have probably had some people suggest this but i think its worth while!
It’s a shame your thinking doesn’t extend to looking at the other thread that already exists which was also started yesterday:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Mounts-46/first
Also, see that number next to /suggestions/Mounts- ? Yep, that’s how many threads have already been created with the exact same title on this tedious and unimaginative topic.
