It takes on average seven seconds to load a map on my PC using a normal HDD. In all honesty, what are you going to do with seven seconds that’s so time-critical?
mounts are cool. im sry but they are cool.
So what’s so cool about them? You already have the broom and that tunnelling thing in the overpriced Gem Store. There’s your mounts.
Also, try writing using full words rather than netspeak. This isn’t facebook and it goes against Anet’s Code of Conduct.
There really needs to be more activities to do in these home cities, and not, like the Queen’s Terrace, hidden behind some exorbitant paywall.
I remember in the closed beta running around Divinity’s Reach, taking in the sights and listening to the NPC chatter about bar brawls and the shooting range, thinking that both of those activities would be there when the game launched. Apparently not.
I think the only reason why people still hang around DR now (in Piken Square) is for roleplaying reasons because there is literally nothing else to do in there.
uhh what about copy rights? this sounds super fishy to me
You can’t copyright a concept, otherwise Sony would’ve been sued long ago for ripping off MUDs with Lineage and Everquest and Blizzard in turn for WoW.
As it is though, I’m getting pretty tired of MOBAs and the sudden need for every new multiplayer game out there to ape one.
Agree on both points.
But – pay attention – to face WildStar and Everquest Next,
Why should the developers do that? Most people play GW2 because it isn’t a WoW clone and it should stay that way. WildStar brings absolutely nothing new to the table, and whilst EN does offer a few interesting features (like modding tools for building and quest-scripting), the original Everquest (which Blizzard cloned WoW from) does not feature any new mechanics that moves away from the typical macroing and tedious gear grind of those games.
GW2 is fine as it is. Want WildStar? Go and play WildStar then.
It’s about time players like kntz looked for an WoW-like MMO that suits their playstyle, rather than forcing WoW-like mechanics on a game that never has, and never will, feature them.
Most of us who bought into GW2 knew what we were getting – something that is as far removed from WoW as possible whilst retaining an MMO/fantasy setting. You have plenty of other PvP style games out there for your noob-ganking needs, so go and play one of them instead.
Not so much next patch, but in the future:
1) A total separation of PvE and PvP class balancing. Elementalists are currently useless in PvE whilst they can be butchered by a couple of low-level bandits. It never used to be like this in the beta days.
2) The ability to purchase the same town clothes that the citizens of your respective racial cities wear from an NPC – For gold, not gems.
3) Synced day/night cycles between map areas – if it’s dark in Divinity’s Reach, it should also be dark everywhere else at the same time.
4) Dynamic weather.
5) Toggleable visibility on most armour pieces, i.e. boots and chest. Norn have tattoo options that aren’t visible behind armour, and Sylvari have all that bioluminescence that you can’t see either.
Anet, please fix your search function so we’re not getting spammed with up to three threads per day on this tedious topic. Thank you.
OP, surely you must’ve seen the other two threads (one of them less than ten posts below yours!) on the first page of Suggestions before starting this one, no?

Mounts aren’t “cooler” though. The game’s fine as it is.
I think that’s the problem. The beer is so watered down in this game, you need to down at least fifteen pints before your vision starts to get screwy.
NO.
The armour system needs a lot of work and something like this would help people who want to use one set of armour for general exploration and another for dungeons, etc. Also, I would like to see a proper wardrobe system that can also store fluff cosmetic items bought from the gem store. I’ve only ever bought one piece of clothing from there (with gold – refuse to pay real money for polygons) and lost it when I deleted a character I was no longer playing and forgot that she was wearing that somewhat-overpriced clothing item.
Already been suggested many times before and practically since the beta. Minis are currently pointless because:
1) They are a collectible, which means that when you deposit all collectibles in your inventory, the mini returns to the bank,
2) Moving from one zone to the next causes your mini to despawn,
3) They take up valuable inventory space when really they should have their own slot.
I would like to see this happen, but given the wall of silence on the matter, I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
Annoyingly, the game treats any activity that uses the skill bar as combat activity, hence why you always switch out of town clothes and into armour.
You can already assign a hotkey to switch between town clothes/armour at will. It’s under the key binding options.
I’m a bit surprised I don’t see this already suggested
It’s been suggested thousands of times already and if the search function actually worked on this forum, you would have seen how many people are just as against this idea as those are for it.
Another race change thread? Really??
Just roll a new character and stop moaning because race change will never happen.
The solution to getting kicked is to run your own party. I play a Necro and if I really need to do a dungeon run (very rarely these days), I create my own party to do it rather than put up with moronic zerker-obsessed elitists. Admittedly, my Necro is kitted out in zerker gear but that’s because I tend to go off exploring a lot on my own, and I certainly don’t expect fellow party members to kit themselves out in the same gear as myself.
Also, for balancing issues, it’s about time there was a clear separation between PvE and PvP builds. The reason why I stopped playing an Elementalist was because a level 60 ele could still get owned by a couple of level 8 bandits and long cooldowns prevented rapid switching between attunements. Ridiculous. An elementalist may be good for PvP, but currently they are hopeless for PvE unless you have twenty fingers for all those hotkeys.
GW2 should maintain its own sense of style rather than mimicking other MMO/generic “AAA” titles.
The chest drop rate is pretty low now, but the keys are non existent in the world. Have they officially been removed from drops, because I don’t think I’ve gotten one of a drop in, well, probably a year. Again, back at launch, I would get a key, maybe even two every couple of days, maybe even 1 a day if I was lucky.
I had a key drop for the first time in eight months last week. It’s the only time I’ve come across a key in the wild and not from the personal story quests.
Ok, maybe it isn’t necessary and I see your point. I don’t want them to copy WoW either. So maybe it could be togglable so you could let people view if you feel like it.
The problem there is that the elitists will demand you enable it if you have the misfortune to join their party. They seem to forget that this is a game about skill, not gear: You could have the highest-specced zerker gear available in the game, but if you don’t know anything about boons, conditions and counters, then you may as well be a level 1 noob in a very expensive suit.
Preview window is just going halfway. I still think they should go the whole nine yards and setup a view player or inspect player for their achievements and armor.
Why? What possible use would it have except to give ammunition to incompetent elitists who need an all-zerker setup to carry them through a dungeon run?
Achievements mean absolutely nothing. You could’ve played the game every day for over a year and racked up 10,000 achievement points, but it doesn’t mean you are a competent player who has a clue what they’re doing.
As it stands though PvE is very trivial in that the hardest boss encounters can be killed by a single player in a game that is supposed to promote team work. How? Through being able to dodge every, very obviously, telegraphed skill.
I just think it would promote a much more interesting level of depth to the game.
Oh?
I would love to see a video of a single player killing Tequatl tbh.
Or Jormag, or the Shatterer.
More to the point, I’d like to see a video of Rolyate doing this himself seeing as he’s convinced it’s easy to solo the toughest bosses the game has to offer.
As far as I see, no actual arguments against this have been raised, other than that people like to dodge.
People liking to dodge is a perfectly valid argument. You can’t keep moving the goalposts in a discussion just because you disagree with what people have to say.
No. There is no reason for a subscription in any form. If Anet were concerned with profitability, they would be churning out expansions by now instead of putting more fluff items in the gen store.
It’s coming soon.
Any evidence for that?

This thread is over a year old. Why did you revive it?
This has been a commonly-asked for feature which shows little sign of ever being implemented. Whether it’s a limitation of the forum software in use or there’s too much work involved in offering such an option is anyone’s guess.
I’d rather not see the forums become little more than a popularity contest where people spam as many responses (regardless of usefulness or helpfulness) as possible just to get noticed. Being helpful should be its own reward, surely?
I’ve seen this sort of thing happen on other sites, where people start “Ask me anything!” threads only to not have the slightest clue on how to answer peoples questions, or answer every single thread they come across with a load of rumour or speculation instead of hard facts just to earn some meaningless reward.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Please-Race-Change/first
It’s on the first page of Suggestions for heaven’s sake. Why start yet another thread on this when there’s already three active threads on this subject.
I’m calling it now – this is a concerted spam effort by a minority of people who refuse to take “no” for an answer, even when that “no” has come from the devs themselves. I’m going to start reporting these daily race change spam threads I think.

Something wrong with these threads?
Roll a new character and get over it.
Add high-heeled designs for footwear / boots / shoes / armor...

This thread died eleven months ago…
Right, and what about those minor details like jumping puzzles, a lack of a contiguous world map and the minor issue that mounts suck?
If you’ve been playing a character for hundreds of hours, then at what point did you decide that you hated its race?
-1 for change race. Roll a new character.
This isn’t a question.
Adrianna, can you stop stating your opinion as fact, unless you have actual evidence to back it up with?
Look at the number in the URL. That’s the number of mind-numbing threads that’s been started on a topic that’s been discussed to death already.
Just roll a new character.
You know what? I’m all for a PvP server, if only to stop all these duel/open-world PvP/GvG threads that keep springing up every few days.
Make it happen Anet, so that the rest of us can just get on with enjoying the PvE game we paid for!
Tman, you clearly did not read what the OP wrote, and I fail to see what jobless people and tragedies have to do with the OPs suggestion.
Those are my suggestions. Anything short of that will most likely mean I will never log on to GW2 again after 4/4/14.
Then go. Nobody cares.
All I want for Christmas is for people to stop creating new threads on the same subject over and over again, especially when active threads already exist.
I have no opinion either way on capes. Mounts? You’ve got the broom and tunnelling thingy. There’s your mounts.
Calling out devs and demanding an answer from them is against the forum’s Code of Conduct, which you clearly haven’t bothered reading, because if you had, you would also have noticed that it also states that posters should not expect a response from the devs.
Any time the devs spend responding to posts like yours (which by the way would be easier to read if you use full words instead of chatspeak which is also against the CoC)is time better spent fixing bugs and adding new content.
Why not make all Dyes account wide please! I would pay for this

I really wish people would stop saying “I will pay for this”. So far, several good suggestions that should’ve been in the game by default (i.e. increased storage stack sizes and dance moves) are now only available via an exorbitant fee because someone keeps declaring that they would pay real money for a feature that shouldn’t even be charged for!
Anyway, just to add, I don’t support this suggestion. With in-game inflation ballooning out of control, we need more gold sinks, not less.

Considering all the effort it took just to get gloves to be toggleable, I wouldn’t hold your breath. I’ve been waiting for toggleable boots since beta.
This is a cash grab by NCSoft at the end of the day. GW1 also had bonuses if you bought one of the various special editions and the key difference was you could use them again and again for all your characters simply by typing /bonus into chat.
There is no reason why this could not have been done in GW2 and it makes buying anything other than the standard edition of the game completely pointless unless you particularly enjoy throwing your money away.
