That would be very nice, so that people can get a better impression on how much of an “improvement” this is and if its worth it to hack the nvidia driver registry for this just to force the driver to enable FULL RNG for better/more colors. (which could end up also in being too bright in the case of whites ^^)

I took screenshots but they look the same in Photoshop. The tool has a button to revert to the original colour scheme if you don’t like it, probably should have mentioned that.

They will look the same because these changes do not affect the internal colourspace but rather how the drivers render it when outputting directly to your TV.

Also, it’s a single, global trading post covering both the US and EU regions, so you can imagine the high volume of transactions going on at any given moment.

I’m not an RPer although on every MMO I play, I usually reside on an (un)official RP server. Why? Because RPers help to build that immersion that it often missing in MMOs where your typical activity consists of go here, kill that. It’s fun being able to stumble across RPers in the wild and listen in on their conversations (much as you would walking into a pub and listening to the conversation at the bar) because it helps to create that sense of a dynamic living world.

The Megaservers, for me at least has all but killed off RP in Piken Square outside of the main cities. The hunter’s lodge in Queensdale is now deserted when I go by, no doubt because the RPers are on a different instance, and the Sunday night meets that used to take place in Shaemoor near the BLTC posts have all but vanished.

I would like to see an option where clicking on an RP option somewhere, places you in an instance with RPers but I doubt this is even possible to implement with the game as it is. It was telling that in yesterday’s HoT annoucement, all bases were covered (PvE, WvW, PvP, Guilds) except for RP.

What a shame.

I’m glad Anet are sticking to their principles – No raised level cap and no new gear tiers.

The only hype being “fuelled” is that generated by a minority of people on this forum who are making things up on the spot and declaring them as fact. There has been very little hype generated at Anet’s end other than a trailer.

What will I do? Simple, I will sit back and laugh at all those morons who generated this hype and mass hysteria out of their own fantasies and who are now threatening to ragequit if Anet don’t fulfil these imaginary promises. Anet has announced nothing yet these pages are filled with rubbish about new races, classes, expansions, lands and other figments over over-active imaginations. I will listen to/read their announcement without any false pretences or hysteria.

Considering that Anet has said nothing at all about an expansion and all of the current hype has been generated by deluded players feeding off rumour and speculation that they themselves have invented, I would not be surprised if Anet make no big announcement – nor would I be disappointed. It’s only a minority of players deluding themselves with their own hype and lies who are going to get frustrated by this in the end, regardless of the outcome, and to be perfectly honest, they get what they deserve.

I can already see the cries of “Anet broke their promises” and “Anet are liars” from that deluded minority now.

Wow, another pointless speculation thread that some players will use to generate fake hype to beat Anet with…

If players overhype anything then it’s the players’ fault, not ANet’s. No company should be held responsible for the level of stupidity that comes from the actions of a few players who cannot tell the difference between rumours/speculation and hard facts.

This is what will happen:

1. Usual suspects will speculate on things that they want to see in this game (expansions, mounts, etc),
2. Other people will note the speculation and throw even more speculation into the mix,
3. At some point, the original speculation will turn into statements of fact by forum members and even promises despite no official word on anything,
4. Anet may or may not make an announcement at PAX,
5. Regardless, the people who made their wild speculations will berate Anet for failing to keep their promises (which were never made) or announcing that expansion which was never on the table and those forum members with overactive imaginations and an inability to discern the difference between speculation and rumour (that they themselves invented) and quantifiable information will flood the forums calling out Anet as liars, indulge in conspiracy theories and claim the game is “dying”.
6. Anybody who calls the fantasists out will be labelled “White Knights” – the new buzzphrase around these parts.
7. Rinse and repeat for next gaming event or “announcement”.

You’ve spoken to every single worker in the world have you? I finished work on December 24th and don’t go back in until the 5th January because my place of business is reduced to a skeleton staff for that period. Other people have annual leave or work in sectors where there is complete downtime over the Christmas period. Don’t assume that because you’re working during this time that everyone is. Also, when the Anet devs decide to take time off is their business, not the gamers.

Ascended medium armor has this awkward cut off on female asura (without the shoes) if you want to preview to see.

The hemless pants don’t really bother me. And I’m very familiar with which boots make my asura feet look human shaped and which don’t. That said, it would be pretty cool to be barefoot sometimes. I look at asura feet and think “why do they need shoes anyway?”

I often think the same about the Charr. The footwear they end up with often look incredibly painful, especially for heavy armour. then again, they’re Charr – pain is probably something to be relished!

Not a lot of people have the attention span to read through dozens of pages and with the search borked you’ll keep seeing different players creating new threads on the same subjects, even if a similar one sits on the first page. I suggest maybe not spending so much time on the forums if this subject’s reoccurrence bothers you so much.

Because it is suggested that the toggle option be made available for all pieces of the armor set, in this very thread. Another poster even said, “baby steps.” It is what some people want. I would bet all the gold I have that if that option were available — then we would see a lot of people playing with naked characters. Not a majority of players, mind, but just enough so the bar in this game gets lowered a bit more.

I am all for new armor sets that showcase more of the different racial bodies more…. but I will never support the ability for players to play “naked” yet fully geared.

Another game I play, Rift actually has the option to hide everything and I’ve rarely seen naked characters running around – I really don’t think people are that childish. On the flip side, I have already seen several players in GW2 running around naked on the server I’m on (Piken Square) and I don’t think adding more toggle options is going to suddenly make more players do the same.

Having said that, I wouldn’t really want to see toggleable chest and leg armour options, but perhaps better armour sets like you mention – for instance for Norn, there’s currently no point choosing a skin with tattoos when they can’t be seen, or a Sylvari with a lot of bioluminescence on their skin, completely hidden by armour.

I’d like to see a toggle visibility option for footwear too, especially since it seems that with some light/medium armours, the boots appear to be an afterthought (although on certain races, it seems entire armour sets were an afterthought – see: Charr) and suitable alternatives sometimes end up clipping the greaves.

Apparently, Anet has responded to a suggestion like this before and have basically said no. The only reason we got toggleable shoulders/gloves was because of clipping issues and yet clipping issues remain with boots. Hmm….

It’s fine to not want mounts (I don’t want them either!), but don’t complain about Mount threads if you’re gunna keep bumping each one that comes!

The problem with that argument is, if you don’t declare your opposition, then those in favour of mounts will simply declare that they are the majority and should be listened to because those in the anti-mount crowd have refrained from posting a comment or making their opposition known. Unfortunately, bumping threads like this is a necessary evil when making sure that the anti-mount voice is still heard as long as these mounts threads continue to be created.

Anet need to declare once and for all what their stance on mounts is.

I would like to see a solo mode (or solo+heroes/mercs mode) for dungeons as well. To the people that say that such a mode would split the player base, how would it? People who want to run the dungeons solo at their own pace (rather than one dictated by speedrunners with ridiculous gear and AP requirements) are the same people who currently refuse to run the dungeons at all, either because they cannot commit to the time needed to run them properly, or simply because they find themselves locked out by self-appointed gatekeepers demanding those silly requirements I just mentioned.

Over 70% of veteran players (those who started playing this game at launch) have moved on to new games or reverted back to older MMOs which still dish out more content. It is only a very small group of people who are actually content with the progress of LS. Everyone knows that for an MMO to be good, it must continue to grow in the amount of content it provides.
