i’m just wondering how one learns about PvP by standing in L.A. fact is thieves don’t have much to worry about even with rogue AoE. they go invis so often most people won’t see them ikittenerg fight or will lose track of them instantly when they go invis and run away.

I play full glass cannon thief and have no issues, but then I tend to stealth and start killing in the middle or back of an enemy zerg causing them to lose formation and giving opportunities for others to pick off panicking players.

Is there some reason gw2lfg.com isn’t working for you? I don’t see any reason for the devs to waste time and effort on something that has already been perfectly and successfully implemented. They have many other important things they are working on and bugs they are fixing. This would just be a redundant waste of time.
Whether or not someone think gw2lfg.com is successful or not is all relative. You clearly feel that it is a good tool and don’t want to “waste” dev time and energy on an in-game LFG tool. You are viewing balancing only from PvP point of view. If they buff all of them together, they would have to buff PvE difficultly too. 90% of balance they did so far, they nerfed something and buffed another thing in one proffesion.
Most people use similar build, because it is “the best”. By nerfing & buffing together they can make more viable builds to play with.
the classes that are terrible at PVE are the same ones that are terrible at PVP.
the exception is the thief, who is the god of PVP but only mediocre at PVE (they still have the potential to beat the “screwed 3”.
the gap between the first tier and the 3rd tier is mind bogglingly vast.
You obviously ae biased or unskilled at the last tier.
Grab 3 necros and have them drop their wells right ont he enemy front lines as you push. Everyone on your team now is leaching health while you make that push, second push they drop a different wella nd oh look everyone is now blind ont he enemy. I’ve seen necromancers turnt he tides of WvW faster thana ny other proff is capable of.
In Dungeons I’ll take a necro over an ele anytime so long as they aren’t a minion build.
Ranger is useless? You can send your pet to attack people 3k+ meters away (your pet will be perminantly invisible) Your pet will be unable to be hit and will kill the person the same way thieves do. Seen rangers using this trick to pick off enemy thieves before big pushes.
Engineer is useless? Love them in dungeouns (they can fill any role and do so very well as long as they aent pure turret build) ad in spvp they can be terrors that put guardians to shame for bunkering and defending.
Sounds like you just aren’t sure how to play those proffs.

i believe the expression is “the squeaky wheel gets the grease”. i’m sure there are players that don’t mind laurels and i’m sure there’s a lot that hate laurels, but that’s irrelevant.
if they don’t come here and support their position then they deserve whatever they get, just like people who don’t vote get whoever is elected (no matter how useless their vote would have been).
keeping that in mind, i’m perfectly willing to fight for a reduction in what is turning into a years long grind because i think it is atrocious.

i think thieves, mesmers and ele would still take a dump on my ranger if i had full ascended gear and they had exotics (or even rares as bad as that is).
if this game had some semblance of balance i might be able to answer but atm they are so far above the other classes the extra stats make no difference.

ps: people talk like culling will fix everthing (sure invis zergs are annying) but at the root of the problem is the classes. thieves, mesmers and ele will be superior regardless of how much culling there is and it’s because anet refuses to balance them.

I’m sorry, but what benefits do you expect? If they put important, game changing stuff in the store, things would be WORSE, and all the pay to win debate will restart.
If they put ultra cool skins, with effects on par with legendaries, then people will object that those items have been cut from the game in order for anet to make money.
You should be happy with what the store sells right now, and hope anet keeps in line with the current trend
you’re right, but they could buff stuff like the rewards from lion chests (does anyone actually buy these things?). i don’t have a problem with the character change, mini and server transfer stuff though.
i would love to see them add skins providing they are not town clothes. nobody got time for townclothes when you can’t set them to go on when you enter a town automatically.

If you’d stop lying to your friends about what’s needed to play the game, maybe word of mouth wouldn’t be so bad. But once you say you NEED this end game gear (which you would in other games, but not in this one), then you are essentially doing the game a disservice.
BIS gear is a must in most games because of gated content. Here’s it’s a luxury and a compromise.
Maybe you should let people who play this game explain it to your friends instead.

There’s a huge game out there, outside the fractals. Eight dungeons for which you don’t need this. PvP and WvW for which you don’t need this. And entire world to explore, for which you don’t need this.
You don’t even need agony resistance till after level 10 fractals, at which point you get chances for rings. The rings will allow you to have 5 agony resist, which reduced agony damage by about half. That alone would last most people to level 20 fractals.
Do you have any idea of the amount of the player base who doesn’t care about level 20 fractals at all. But let’s say you do. You only need 10 agony resistance to do that level and that agony resistance can be gotten by either 2 rings, or an amulet and a ring, or an ascended backpack, that’s been upgraded and a ring or amulet.
People who liked to grind didn’t have that play style catered to, so Anet made a compromise. Since you don’t need this stuff except to do the one place where you can actually get this stuff, your point is completely moot.

As for what you’re saying, no one can know anything until the WvW update comes out in March. I’m still not convinced anyone needs ascended gear to WvW, I sure don’t use it, but I can see where you’d think you would.
It still could all change when the March WvW upgrade comes out. Keep in mind they delayed that update and it could have come out in February. That team wasn’t ready.
So if they give you ways to earn that stuff in WvW, that would make your argument moot.

No I’m pretty sure I read that right. You indicated that players who aren’t using BiS ascended gear are irrelevant and there are some of us who disagree with that attitude.
Also the suggestion that since we don’t feel as strongly to get BiS gear is equivalent to not having the desire to strive for improvement. But it’s improvement just for the sake of improvement, when it doesn’t and wouldn’t affect our gameplay since we aren’t interested in Fractal runs or uber-competitive PvP/WvW. But calling us irrelevant is, well insulting.

So you are comparing your motivation to get “the best” gear in a GAME easily or at least not time gated to what had driven the collective advancement of mankind since the dawn of civilization?

BiS should take time and effort to achieve. Your complaint is it’ll take too long due to the gating of Laurels to daily and monthly rewards. Maybe you’re right on that point but declaring that if players aren’t playing with BiS gear or aren’t also striving to acquire it then they’re not playing the game right is … well … wrong headed thinking.

Exotic gear, like ascended gear, is not useless. But neither is it a requirement. It’s a luxury; nothing more, nothing less. If guys want to bash your heads against a wall doing things you don’t enjoy for luxuries, go ahead. I think it’s foolish, but it’s your prerogative.
technically fractals is not infinite it ends after level 80. you also can’t progress to that point without ascended gear.
