You’re so silly, of course there was a ton of feedback and requests to change those things.
It’s ok to breathe buddy, it’s only feedback.
It’s just the hypocrisy and the double standards being tossed around… It’s a pet pevee if you will.
It is a pain in the kitten to deal with game-modes you rather have nothing to do with, for me, those game modes include anything remotely related to Player vs. Player combat, I just have no interest in fighting other players.
But, Anet has forced us to do it if we want certain things… And clearly hasn’t back down from this stance. So if that is the case, Why should WvW’ers get special treatment?
There is a HUGE difference between optional fluff skin items and something that deals with core gameplay for your character. I totally believe Anet should lock skins and minis to certain content to provide incentives. Because at the end of the day, that’s optional. Something like elite specs or stat gear like ascended though? No, that should really be available through multiple avenues.
I’ll laugh if they make tomes un-usable when HoT launches….
I’ll laugh even more if Elite Specs require more than 150 Hero Points
Roy already confirmed that tomes are usable. He even commented that he had a stash of tomes ready to go for his own revenant. So I’m afraid you won’t have anything to laugh at there.

Um, yes there WAS tons of protesting. Not sure where you were that you didn’t notice it. Why do you think Anet went and REMOVED WvW from map completion?
And it’s not just WvW. Anyone with many alts is going to have an issue with this.
Meanwhile, (s)he only has 1 lvl 80 character and is going to fast track Revenant with tomes to bypass NPE stuff… “Double standard” perhaps?
Exactly. I have many alts, most that I’ve leveled and played in WvW. Going through getting 170 hp for each alt is going to be a terrible experience and it goes against the very things Anet mentioned in their latest Guild Chat. They outright recognized that it’s not fun doing stuff like world completion over and over again on alts. So they should recognize the issue here too.

It can most definitely change. Do you remember the original Hero point and core spec unlock plans Anet had? The one where if you were level 80 you would NOT have everything unlocked (even if you had it unlocked before the big change) and you would be forced to get at least 60 hero points to unlock even your core specs? The system that many WvW and althololics protested about? Yeah, that got changed. So, you bet if enough people are unhappy about this, they might change it.
Sure, it is totally possible they won’t change it. HoT is just around the corner. But if there is enough feedback on the issue maybe they will.

Max level 80 revs in full ascended gear with sigils and runes. Bwahahaha! It will be amusing.
It’s confirmed by Roy that tomes and scrolls will work for the revenant (in the revenant forums: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/revenant/Revenant-Leveling-Tomes-Scrolls-etc )
Level 30 scroll and tomes for me. I’ve played the revenant in enough stress tests and betas that I feel comfortable with it. Leveling is just a chore at this point.

If players wanna “lvl” their characters via 5k tomes, fine by me, but don’t demand everything. Elite specs should not be easy to unlock.
I for one would not wanna see every “n00b” unlocking the elite spec of his class in 5 seconds…
First you don’t wanna “grind” for exotic armor, then you don’t wanna “grind” for Hero Points, then…
I’m sorry you can’t have it all from the moment you logged in. This is not an FPS game. It’s extremely casual friendly as it is already, don’t ridicule it…
This attitude is very anti-WvW. Many of us leveled our characters in WvW and have characters that are pretty much exclusive to WvW. There should be a way to obtain hero points in WvW. Not to mention it’s going to be hell for those with tons of alts.
I find it weird that Anet said in the last Guild Chat that they understand doing certain things like world exploration over and over again on alts is a huge chore. That is the reason they eliminated it from the requirements for the new legendaries. But here they are making things miserable with this 170 point hero point requirement to unlock elite specs. If I have to do that on my main, fine I’ll do it. But having to do it for every single alt character is very miserable.
170?? what the …. Are you ……. serious? My main is ok, but there is no way I’m running through pve maps again with the rest of my 4 alts to achieve 680 hero points.
haha, and that doesn’t even include the optional armor things for each spec. That brings it up to something like 250 hp according to the data mine. But at least that stuff isn’t necessary. But yeah, the 170 is to get the elite spec alone which is pretty outrageous. If it was account bound I don’t think I’d mind, but it isn’t. So you have to run around on each character. AND that’s not the only thing, rumor has it you might have to do some kind of collection thing in pve first before even being able to put hero points toward your elite. Though I think that’s heavy speculation because someone noticed some sort of elite spec collection during beta. And because they said this in their final countdown post:
“overcoming challenges in the jungle to unlock your elite specialization”
So that makes it sound like not only do we have to deal with hero points, but some other thing as well. -_-

I know that for many the lack of the ally health bars was one of the biggest impediments to enjoying the healing of the Druid.
Any word if this will be fixed for HoT release?
Squad UI was fixed for the last part of raids where you can see allies health.
I doubt you’ll get health bars over player’s head ever. It’s because AN don’t like people looking at UI’s and thus the squad UI is probably the best you’ll get. It is usable and it’s due to get a few more buffs after release with boon markers on players etc.
I keep seeing this kind of response and it still makes absolutely no sense. You are correct that Anet want people to play the game and not the UI like in other MMOs. That’s EXACTLY the reason they should have player health bars above people’s heads available in raids at least. The squad UI does the exact opposite of this. You are staring at a UI to see who you have to heal, instead of just looking around you, seeing who is at low health and going over to them to heal them. Visible health bars for this kind of game are absolutely necessary. At the very least it should be a toggle. If you don’t want that on your screen fine, but I do want it.

This is very odd, I have never had connection issues before but today I’m constantly being kicked off. Not sure what the issue is. I’m in NA.
Hey all,
As we hurtle toward launch most of my time is locked into Druid and Scrapper changes.
After much tribulation I was able to make a change to WHAO to remove the static boon stack application on Might and Stability stacks being copied; this was actually a fairly difficult change to implement as we don’t really have support for copying boons with preset durations.
This’ll go in with the 23rd.

Will core ranger be getting some more love besides this when the xpac hits or are other changes incoming afterwards?
I get the feeling that most of the people hyped for druid are pvpers. Marks is certainly NOT useless in pve. If you pve then there is much less to be hyped about. Especially if you want to be full dps. Irenio out right said if you want to be full dps you don’t take druid. Period. It’s not really meant for that.
Must say I’m very disappointed we aren’t getting Mursaat. I mean we know they have a city in the jungle somewhere. They are known for wearing gold armor. They have wing-like appendages on their back. It just seemed like these Exalted would either be a new form of Mursaat or some kind of Mursaat construct. Not to mention we’ve been getting so many White Mantle hints so far in the game.
I just find the idea of a wary alliance with the Mursaat far more interesting than an alliance with these Forgotten constructs that seem like loyal do-gooders.
So any game that releases an expansion is now pay 2 win? Other games with xpacs add classes, abilities and even levels. Adding such things is typical for any xpac. In GW2 we are lucky in the fact that we don’t get levels, we get masteries. The paranoia about p2w has gone too far now.

Ive NEVER seen that happen to my ranger when my pet is dead.
I actually main a ranger, but I was playing on my guardian today and I noticed it. It’s clearly not working as intended, and just because you haven’t noticed it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I’ll try to get a screenshot
Honestly, its really absurd for a “main” Ranger to come and ask for his own class to be nerfed in such a way. Every other class has access to one of these traits that has no downside at all, yet you are suggesting that Ranger’s should have one? It is bad enough that we are able to be locked out of our class mechanic, now you want our traits to be nerfed when that happens as well?
No true Ranger main would ask for this.

This request is mind boggling. Why would you want to cripple ranger with something no other class has? And watch Anet go ahead and do it too. Only they won’t balance the other classes traits and make them have a downside too.
On a more serious note I do agree that at times it feels like across the board base heals might be a bit too much but I also feel like it’s harder to balance while keeping the philosophy of “you don’t really need a healer to do stuff”… even tho raids look like you do in fact need a healer, but we’ll see!

Gearing for a couple hundred points of heal power is not “lugging a healer around with you.”
It is putting a boot on the Zerker’ metas neck and pressing down.
Getting rid of a full zerker meta groups does not mean getting rid of zerker. Nor should it ever. And zerker should most definitely still be a good option for the rest of the game. Hell, it should still be a good option in raiding even, just not have the entire raid be zerker.
You run up there. You don’t need shrooms at all.
The actual bomb portion when you plant the bombs is fine, but yeah the part where you get the salvage for the bombs is kind of miserable. They need to increase the spawn rate for the salvage and make the salvage instanced to each player the way mining nodes are. That would help speed things up. I don’t know how many times I was running around just looking for salvage and there not being any. People would get frustrated and leave.
Not really squad UI related, but for the love of Rytlock please….please allow us to toggle on and off player health bars automatically instead of forcing people to mouse over players to see their health bars. You want people looking at the fights don’t you? You don’t want people playing the staring at UI game, right? So please add this. Thanks.
2) Only thing that requires a group is raids. The open world is easy enough to solo or duo (especially since they nerfed the content in BWE3). The entire game does NOT have to be soloable. There needs to be stuff for guilds to do, which thankfully HoT is adding.
.Guild Missions you need players 3 or more players, Claiming Guild hall you need 5 or more players, Raids of course several players.
BW3 difficulty was bugged according to Anet or just a PR spin no one will really know outside of their studio.
I’ll believe it when I see it as far as the difficulty goes. I think BWE2 was just about perfect personally.
And yes, I should have thrown guild missions in there but to be honest….we already have guild missions in the game and they currently are not for solo players. So it should not come as a surprise that guild halls and new missions are not going to be that. It’s a given that anything guild related is not for the solo folk. And there NEEDS to be more guild content, it’s sorely lacking in this game.
Reduce level contributions to heals slightly. -5% would be felt. -10% would be glorious. Increased heal power coefficients to replace that loss at some modest number and allow healing power focused builds to actually reap some sort of benefit. You’ve done it with conditions recently to punish people without any commitment to condition damage. Its a mystery why a similar pass hasn’t already been done for healing power…
Give it 3 years and I’m sure they’ll do it!

Being able to run two more damage-focused weapons (if that’s your thing) and still have Celestial Avatar available should address some of your offensive concerns if you want to play a bit more offensively as a hybrid. If you want to focus on being the top offense then you probably shouldn’t be selecting the Druid specialization.
Well, that answers that question then. I had said that it felt that if you wanted to go full dps you would just never take druid and it looks like I was right and that that was the intention. Which I also said was perfectly fine….if you fix the core ranger class. Shouts, spirits, pet survivability all need to be addressed. If druid is all about healing, then ranger needs to have more offensive group support.
Though I am hopeful from this post that healing power will be made more useful for those who want to be healing focused. It’s disheartening for it to not have much impact. Though I like the idea from the poster below to merge healing power with boon duration. That makes it something more people would be willing to go for.

Overall I was happy with druid at first, but to be honest when I went on my auramancer tempest I kind of liked that better. But I think I just need more time on the druid. Wish we had another BWE to practice with it again.
Doesn’t need a damage nerf. Maybe increase the cd very slightly. This is our only ranged option afterall.
Lastly, I have to say my favorite thing about the whole fight was learning the NPC’s inside the raid instance do no damage at all to player pets (meaning they also can’t tank anything for any amount of time); whether that be Mesmer Clones, Necro pets, engi turrets, etc. That’d be great if that carried over to fractals/dungeons or at least all legendary mobs in the game. Thats a wonderful change especially for Mesmer and Ranger players. Kudos to Anet!
A bug? My stupid pet was dying all the time.
This was the question I was wondering about since I didn’t get a chance to raid during the BWE. Anyone go on a ranger or druid and if so, what happened to your pet? O_O
I love my revenant. Can’t wait to play it at launch! I still have to rush and level my armorsmithing so I can make ascended gear for it. I have all the mats ready to go, but still need that crafting leveled. See what you do to me Roy, making me level armorsmithing even though I hate crafting…but I must have only the best for my revenant.

1) I adore the Revenant. It’s kitten fun. The lack of customizing utilities is a bit annoying at first, but once you start playing one…Well, I miss my revenant already. I feel each legend brings some good stuff to the table and different combos work really great together.
2) Only thing that requires a group is raids. The open world is easy enough to solo or duo (especially since they nerfed the content in BWE3). The entire game does NOT have to be soloable. There needs to be stuff for guilds to do, which thankfully HoT is adding.
3) New map is amazing. And I say this as someone who violently HATES jumping puzzles and the like. It’s really not hard to level masteries for your glider and the mushrooms and it’s a blast running around jumping off things and using your glider. The only thing I do think the new maps could use more of is random dynamic events. Most of the events are long chain events. This is perfectly fine, but a nice random, stand alone event here and there would be nice.
Overall, I’m quite happy with the way HoT is shaping up.
Revenants are very weak to condis. Use them.
It’s a beta. There are no world firsts in beta especially when most of the playerbase can’t get in. But grats!
I envy anyone who was able to get into the raid. The UI shut down again just as my group was getting ready to jump in.
Don’t hit the kitten revenant when infusion of light is up. Seriously, people need to stop complaining about this. Revenant is in a perfect place for pve and I would hate to see it nerfed because of pvp crying.
I really wish we could see allies HP without having to mouse over them, it would help a lot.
This PLEASE. Have this be a toggle so that those who don’t want health bars up don’t have to have them, but for being on support we absolutely NEED this.
Roy was the one who made the changes for Rev and they are good ones. UA is fine and absolutely necessary for PVE. The damage for UA goes down dramatically the moment you introduce even one more target to the picture. And you can dodge, use retaliation, use confusion, etc.
NO NO NO….don’t change anything. It’s meant to be hard, it’s like a side thing to do after you are finish the game, otherwise it would be so boring if everyone is running around with ascended weapon or armor.
Play with Exotic if you can’t afford damask, it’s only like 5% difference. Stop being lazy and asking Anet to give you handouts.
Also, how would it feel for players that has already crafted their ascended then it’s changed, they will feel jaded.
This is a silly argument. Something being pricey does not equal hard. This isn’t something you earn doing some kind of difficult content. This is something that’s just grindy, but very faceroll to get at the end of the day. Tedious does not equal hard. I’m saying this and I have a full ascended set and the mats for another two sets ready. But I certainly would not mind if the recipe for damask was lowered. The prices are ridiculous right now.
No, you HUNT dragons, not represent them. It makes more sense for the spec who channels the dragon to have a dragon icon. DH’s have an arrowhead. This would make ZERO sense for a Herald.

At first I thought doing zerk druid (with marks and skirmishing) was somewhat decent. Then I decided to drop the druid and just go back to my usual ranger. Yeah, no. DPS druid feels very far behind normal ranger. Now again, I realize the focus of the druid traitline is healing so this isn’t surprising in the least. If they aren’t going to create more synergy with a full dps build then I really do hope we get those fixes for core ranger that they were looking into. Otherwise I don’t see dps rangers being taken to raids.
Not this again, we had a whole thread about how to counter UA already. And if you are a class with any type of pet/minion/companion you have little excuse because UA’s damage goes down a ton once there is more than one target. Revs are very weak to condis. Use them. Revenant is in a perfect spot at the moment at least for dps. Not sure how the condi rev is going.
Full zerker Glint/Shiro.
Devastation/Invo/Herald with sword/axe (or sword/shield) and hammer as my swap weapon. I like it. Though you have to be careful since you are very squishy. I was wondering how it would work swapping a few valk pieces in there. But I’ll stick to zerk for the time being.
Axe is good even in power builds. I run sword/axe all the time.
And I’m sorry the Glint heal is fine. If people are foolish enough to not stop attacking the rev when infused light is up then that’s on them. And overall condis will still totally wreck a revenant. It’s a good heal and I don’t want to see it nerfed because people are being silly in pvp, especially since if you run with Shiro you don’t have any real big healing with that legend.
The stunbreak should probably just be on glyph of equality since that has a longer cd. I really wouldn’t want to see a cd raise on the others.
Ran with my usual Glint/Shiro setup with dev/invo/glint trait lines. Been trying the shield instead of axe. I think I still prefer axe, but the shield is ok so far. Still loving my revenant.
The added small cd to UA is tolerable, but please don’t raise it any more. This is our main burst skill for pve.
Haven’t tried Mallyx yet though…

Hey everyone, I have an update regarding the availability of raids.
Due to the issues we experienced yesterday with the Enhance Squad UI and with further internal discussion, we have made the very difficult decision to keep raids turned off for the remainder of the beta weekend.
We are continuing to investigate the issues and also looking into options that would allow us to get more testing on these features before we release.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.
So….will there be a special raid test weekend? It wouldn’t even have to be before launch really since raids won’t be in for another few weeks after launch. That would be nice, uh….but don’t make it next weekend if you decide to throw in another test weekend. NY comic-con is next weekend, don’t make me choose!
Revenant is the new OP class.
Sword 3 can easily do 9k damage with enough mights.
Not to mention Revenant can self stack around 20 stacks of might without doing anything lol…Only problem is the lack of cleanse w/o Ventari, which is actually a big issue XD…
So Revenant will be quite OP in PVE that’s for sure.Hammer is doing more dps than LB too lol..
I’m really sick of the OP talk. Revenant is fine. There are plenty of classes that have abilities that do 9k damage in pve so I don’t see what the problem is. Sword 3 is the main Rev burst skill it SHOULD do a lot of damage. Every class has a weakness and rev is very weak to condis. Seriously people need to get to know classes first before crying OP. People are doing this to druid too unfortunately.
I noticed that and I think that’s useless. I was hoping it was a bug though. If you hit f2 on most pets they run over to your target and do the attack.
Instant? My fire wyvern’s F2 is most certainly not instant. It’s slow and clunky as hell and half the time doesn’t do it on the target it’s supposed to do it on.
lol maybe he’s mistaking Revenants for scrappers? Neither are OP. I REALLY am getting tired of all the “this is OP!” threads from people who lose a match to an elite spec. Learn about the specs you are playing against and practice fighting them before running around crying OP.

Yeah, I can’t deal with going with heal gear especially if I’m running around by myself. Went full zerk to kill stuff faster.
