On Overflows, Tequatl spawns ten minutes after the main serve events kicks off. At least that what I’ve come to understand how that works…

that would be nice

anyone have a link to confirm this?

There’s nothing revolutionary about GW2… just some small tweaks to make it different.

If you had your choice, would you want GW2 to blow your mind with awesome new content and perhaps some revolutionary new things, or would you choose to have GW2 use tricks and manipulation instead of innovation to keep players playing?

I don’t miss the trinity and many other things that were MMORPG standards for a few years…maybe the trinity isn’t the best example but still i like the differences in GW2 and I hate the things that they are using to manipulate and cheaply trick players into logging on that are from the past MMORPGs that less and less people play.

Definitely an update that has been carefully made and not rushed to blow my mind. They definitely felt their player base is decreasing that’s why they resort to these cheap tricks to bring people in.What they did was they hyped about things that player don’t like will not be in their games during launch. After that its history, they’re slowing putting it in game.

I have gold find, but that’s just because adding +20% to every coin drop adds up in the long run. It is also directly noticeable. 20% MF might be nice, but if you’re not lucky you don’t get anything.

No point have gold find prices of items just go up

On the other hand, many prices have been very stable for months, so gold find is rather useful.

And how is more gold bad when stuff costs more gold? That’s backwards logic.

Nope, when sellers think omg people are getting easy gold RAISE PRICE

Why the hell are the teq weapons account bound? Dam anet, you guys keep dropping the ball and then kick it every time you go to pick it up.

So people who want it will have to participate in the event…otherwise people won’t come in the numbers needed to defeat T’quatl. They’ll wait for others to do it and just buy the thing.

Want the weapon? Do the content. It’s not a mistake on their part.

and you expect the weapon to cost 10g so every1 could buy it? that’s funny. Even if it was on TP, i would cost so much that 98% of ppl who are looking for the skin would farm it instead.

This is proof that increasing difficulty level has nothing to do with moar people doing tequatl they just want da loot!

Would it help if I said I included it in my report?

No; I’ve heard that before. By legit I didn’t mean “we know about it.” Colin already gave me that lip service. I’m sorry if I seem demanding or ungrateful, but it has been months since the last update on this issue and every single issue that Colin said was being worked on first has been finished and is in the game in one from or another, plus a lot of other stuff. I don’t want “I included it in my report.” I want to know what you plan to do about it, and at least a ballpark estimate of when.

This issue, an oversight that never should have made it into the live release, has been known and complained about for over a year and the development team has addressed similar issues for other player demographics no larger or important than ours. We’re already in year two, and in a lot of ways this game is still in a beta phase with beta, heck, alpha phase problems. The least you can to is tell us if this is even on your radar to be fixed before year three.

Edit: I didn’t pre-purchase this game to wait over a year for “cosmetic progression” to actually apply to my favored class. And frankly I think you guys should stop adding cosmetic content until every profession can actually use it.

Wow … never seen such an entitled post on these forums …

First you call out a dev. One is actually nice enough to comment and forward your problems. Your response is to insult him, not once but several times.

I’d say you need a time out.

He deserves it though.

I’ve never attacked anyone for complaining about gear grind. I’ve attacked people who keep bringing up Anet said something 87 years ago and it changed.

Now, Vayne, that’s clearly incorrect. ArenaNet was founded in the Spring of 2000 (I’ll assume Northern Hemisphere Spring because that’s where Bellevue is). That makes it around 13 1/2 years old, which is clearly a much smaller number of years than 87. Don’t go saying things that aren’t completely, absolutely, and verifiably true on these forums – we wouldn’t want people to get the wrong impression.

I believe you have no clue what these players want. You’re making the assumption that they bulk of players think the way you do. It may be true that the bulk of posters on the forums feel that way, but since most people lurk, we don’t actually know what they think.

How do you know that most players lurk? Do you have metrics from ArenaNet? This is just speculation. For all you know, most players post, and our friend Erick is spot on with his statistical analysis.

I just wanted to make sure that what you said wasn’t misinterpreted by anyone. Must be correct to a “T”, as it were.

Have a nice day!

;)

Hi Chuo. I thought you’d understand that an obvious exaageration to make a point is completely different than hyperbole where people are exaagerating things for different reasons. It’s a form of humor. People do it all the time.

Completely different from the type of misinformation usually spread by some people on these forums.

I thought you’d understand that, too. /facepalm

With the number of people actually attacking me directly, all posts are going to end up as defensive posts.

Timing is everything.

The person who said that he will post less on the forum these days ended up having 111 posts in this thread :/

If you go against them you are labelled disrespectful and the minority of the forum.

So what are they going to do, completely ignore me and the issues I bring up? They’ve been doing a fine job of that already.

That’s what they do best….unfortunately and the excuse why they don’t post on forum. They only reply when there are major updates when they screw up or meaningless one liners.

I’m not twisting what Colin said, because we talked about the manifesto. Looking at Anet’s web page for Guild Wars 2, grind and vertical progression was barely mentioned at all. They talked about dynamic events, personal stories, and a living breathing world. That’s the main thing the game was marketed on.

If you can find 3 quotes over five years that say vertical progression….okay, you’ve found three quotes. So what? It’s three quotes over five years.

There were literally hundreds of hours talking about everything else. It’s people’s focus that make this the depth of the promise it was, not what was actually said.

By percentage, Anet talked about vertical progression very little.

No you are just making excuses, and stretching the truth to justify that excuse. As I said before, changing small things and backing out here and there is fine. But not when it goes against the core design philosophies you preached. It is if a game like WoW talked about Raiding and how important raiding is in their game and removed it a year after launch. Even if it didn’t take a lot of “percentage” of their time talking about it, it still is a major change for your core philosophy.

Regardless, it is idiotic to think importance is based on how long they talk about it. Talk about going the extra mile to defend this change.

I’m not going an extra mile to defend a change. I’m taking on people who say this is what the game was sold on. No. This may be what sold YOU on the game, but this was not what Anet PUSHED.

Again, I have a background in retail. I know what I push and what I don’t push. I know what Anet pushed. Lack of vertical progression wasn’kitten They pushed personal story. They pushed dynamic events. Those were what would have sold the game to most people.

There are a minority of people who even know what vertical progression is. Those are more likely to be people here on the forums. But the bulk of the population just sees something they think looks cool and buys it.

I’m not defending Anet adding vertical progression to the game. I’m calling out people who say this is the major thing Anet sold the game on.

Yes, this is what the game was sold on.

Invest in:
- One of the 3: Soldier gear, Sentinel gear, or Celestial gear.
- Superior Sigil of Bloodlust (Get 25 stacks before Teq comes)
- Food/nourishment items that give power (Sharpening stones, dragonfly cupcake, plate of steak and asparagus, etc)

Zerg:
- Range not melee
- Stack in one location
- Jump before the waves are near you
- Use support like shout heals and Empower

Turrets:
- use 2 on teq whenever recharge is done
- 3/4/5 on the zergballs whenever possible
- 1 when the rest is on cooldown

And there you have it. Teq is dead.

I think when the majority of people learn what the hell is going on, well see way more TQ kills. I don’t really think everyone needs super gear and all that, if they did why would they put it in a 65 zone?

All of that stuff you said is not unreasonable for a Pug to complete. Not at all.

Oh and if you watch the video of one of the servers completing it, they are all getting rolled by the waves. Literally no one jumped, And they still beat it.

There is a dev that favorites black gate and wanted to make sure Tequatl can be beaten so that everyone else believe they had a chance of winning. The dev was within and he was dealing heaps of damage and tequatl’s hp was reduced.

Are you seriously trying to say that there is a company wide conspiracy to make sure that the blackgate server kills him first? Are you actually trying to suggest that right now?

Yup and they create gold selling websites themselves so they can fill their thick fat coffer while appearing to fight against those sites.

At the rate things are going….

A new area comprised of multiple maps would require you to complete a minimum of 4 heart quests to be able to access the next map. You are time gated to one heart per week and this gate is account wide. So you’d be restricted to gaining access to the next map every month and with 12 maps, it’ll take a year just to reach the new end game.

So what?More content :P

ANet themselves have said that the forum users are a ‘vocal minority’.

Which means the news of the change was only reaching a minority of the players. Announcement of the changes were not made in game any where so the ‘silent majority’ could be informed.

They said only a vocal minority is POSTING on the forums, far more people are reading them. The news was also documented as a blog post on the website, not only on the forums. A link to that blogpost was in the game launcher every time you logged in.

Well not everyone pays attention to the game launcher do they. Not everyone visits the website regularly and look up for the news do they.

Then that is the users fault not ANETs. Even if a letter were sent out via your areas postal service, these people would probably crumple it up and toss it in the trash bin. Ignorance is bliss.

Nope i don’t call that ignorance.I called that a small mistake which could be solved easily.Unless ANET decides do give him two mini Jennahs as compensation

You know, I can see where it could be enjoyable, with some minor changes. The closest WP shouldn’t be contested – a 1 minute run during a 15 minute fight is a ball breaker. Matter of fact, 15 minutes is kind of short, and really the biggest difficulty to it – stretch it to 20 or 30 minutes.

If they fix the bug with the blue wave of death (the actual death/knockback isn’t synced with the blue wave), and did the above two, it’d be an entirely enjoyable experience. As it is, it’s far, far too much work for the lack of reward offered.

I wonder if you fight tequatl for the sake of having a fun experience or you’re just completely on loot. So yeh they gone through all the hard work to make it hard and you say meh loot not good enough so i don’t care if its hard or not.

I too think the fight was epic, fun and challenging, BUT, the reward for such a demanding cooperative effort was a bit on the “MEH” end of the scale of rewards for such effort given and now that the achievements have been made, MOST, will probably never do it again.

So experience is only a one time thing. Loot makes you come back for moar am i right

It was fun, but, if I put the same effort in my usual gathering/mining escapades I’m rewarded twice the loot then my answer would be yes. Make the reward at least equal to the effort given and people will return, it’s human nature.

So game play is not important getting loots and rewards is fun.

No, game-play is fun and the rewards ARE or at least should be important. I play for the fun and reward for accomplishing things.

So you still insist having better loot matters more.
