So we got plenty of different permanent gathering tool, yet few ppl use them. Reason? It’s very anti-alt. Many and more ppl run alts. Be it 2,3 or 8 characters – if you regularly run on more than 1, buying any permanent tool is a waste of money, as running always to bank to move it to another character is waste of time. However, there is a simple fix to it. Change it from item to hero panel tool. After buying from gemstore, you unlock it on your account. Then any of your characters can use it. First ‘equip’ would be free, but each next would cost some money (0,5g?) so we’d introduce some gold sink. It’d also possibly interest ppl that alraedy got their set of permanent tools to buy other ones for cosmetics (so in hero panel you could switch between unlock animations. GW2 is all about cosmetics, isnt it?). Before saying that ppl would fast stop buying permanent tools – well, why not introduce more of them with time? Also they could have built-in features like the watchwork mining pick (corn pick? quartz pick? foxfire axe? then switching between them would take some money away from game). Would be also nice for salvage-o-matics to work this way.

well its ALMOST perfect. besides 75827385927 materials required (farming foxfire/geodes is not fun) and time-gated craftings (how about…7/week instead of this kitten 1/day?). running aroudn map, charging things was really fun
Just wanted to add that I really liked that in the personal story we got some interesting armor/weapon pieces. Are the pact weapons unique to the PS? I forget. It would be nice to have a unique something for these. Maybe an armor set where you get a piece for each step of the story you go through like for sections of the personal story.

not sure if we play the same game but…gw2 is definitely in top5 (top3? for me its no 1…) when it comes to customization. there’s tons of skins, and great ammount of them are really good looking. actually i love SE armor on my char engi, coe heavy and medium are great too, while i cant stand looking at those ugly cof oh-god-i-got-flames things. only thing we need is more variety. like non-coat medium/light armors/pants. we sure got enough of those. as for weapons i find it sad there are so many awesome sword/gs/dagger/focus skins, and so few not-super-ugly hammers, pistols, rifles or torches.
ive played tons of mmos, and in 90% you are flooded with clones. everyone wearing 1 or 2 sets of armors, rarely you can dye them (or in best case you can choose from few color sets, not even close to what gw2 got to offer in terms of coloring your armor)
and saddest of all – we dont really get any new ingame skins. i guess everyone would like to EARN them, not just buy from gemshop…
1. We got new, region-stricted currency. yay! but..wait…WHY THE HELL IT ISNT IN WALLET to share across alts / save inventory slots?
2. Vendors with exclusive items. awesome. but why so crappy items? why all new skins got to be bound to gemstore? why cant we EARN sth instead of jsut buying it? discount for regular items are laugh (saving couple of coppers is really awesome feature)
3. jumping…and all..cool if it was just some mini dungeon / jumping puzzle. it should be rewarding, but 100% optional
4. story is nice so far (ive done 1st instance) but why there’s no loot from mobs only some…erm…reward at the end?
some great ideas, that are wasted right now (region-locked currency, region-locked vendor – few improvements needed to make it work. like unique skins / minis / whatever), interesting, yet small map with too much jumping included

if you plan on ascended armor – only zerker, because pvt is soo bad in pve if you were ever to do some (dungeons especially). if you need more tankiness. just adjust your t/v with acceories, as full armor is almsot equal in stats to 2x rings and amulet (check with some calc). but the 2nd option is much cheaper/easier to get (all you need to do are dailies/monthlies. also you can get rings easily from fractals)
as for sigil, i dont think fire is best idea for single target weapon that sword is. it’d fit more in staff. for sword/scepter i think air could be better

I would agree with this for the most part. Anyone can say “switch that trait, change this rune or sigil and it’s better”, but I think for the most part it’s trickiculty factor 5 lately for getting the right balance on guards. I have also had the most success with hybrid builds lately, and they have been holding their own and fun to play.
I’ve been running these setups if anyone is interested.

Aren’t all world bosses basically loot pinatas when you think about it? And no, let’s not make an already annoying boss more annoying.
they’re either pinatas or almost impossible to kill (no, not because they are hard. just because ppl are kittened and cant read/got filter on/ got commanders blocked for whatever reason. its hard because organizing 150 random ppl is nearly impossible)
if we were to get more challanging bosses, it got to be instanced content to let us choose who will we kill it with. marionette was piece of cake yet it was still failing a lot with full servers/overflows…
bearbow is last of my concerns actually. i happened to have almost 10k achi mesmer with…scepter/torch and staff join my ‘be exp please’ party for frac 20…there are also staff guardians and dual pistol thieves. staff necros. axe rangers (trust me, youd prefer bearbow over that) or pistol-only engis.
worst things are ppl defending those build and trying to tell others they are actually ‘good’, that they ‘support’ or ‘fun to play (its fun beeing useless garbage for my group, yes!)’
and that they mostly dont read descriptions and join these craps to ‘rush/speed/zerker only’ groups and cause them problems
what pve? dungeons? if so, just check forums. there are plenty builds around. ppl explain there why bows are BAD in dungeons (ok, 90% of time they are). why going anything else than berserker is in long run waste of money. why celestials in pve are goodfornothing.
for open world, you can run whatever you like and unless you plan on soloing champs/legendaries you’ll do just fine

megaservers are great IDEA but they way they are now is TERRIBLE. doing guild challanges/rushes is pain (on each instance few guild want to do it. its almost impossible to end up in map when its not beeing done). world bosses (teq/wurm) are IMPOSSIBLE to do now. even with full map, organizing over 100 of random ppl isnt hard, there’s just no way to do it. ppl dont read map chat or dont understand it (europe…). just bring back old way with overflows and polsih megaservers. before we (sfr) could organize (jsut show up some time before kill) and kill it easily. now its just mess. only positive aspect is that less popular maps are more populated
There are 8 “pure support” classes. All of them can do it. That’s what trait line 4 is in every class. A few can go a little further because they get some support effects in line 5 and some get a tiny bit of support in their stock, un-traited weapons.
actually there are 7 support classes and necromancer (in pve that is)
you may face survivability problem as full dps ele until you get used to it in high lvl fracs/dungs (low hp). in full dps guardian its still quite easy to survive (blocks, blinds, vigor, VoR). but yes, having 3 guardians in 5man content (even dps ones) is far from optimal , id say ranger is better in this case (spotter+frost spirit). since you got 2 guards already to take care of condis cleans/reflects mesmer wouldnt be the best choice (only for portal?). you may also consider thief for dps (d/d), lazy play with still not terrible dps (pistol whip spam), blind spam, some projectile defense, stealth

hm..id say drop valor as its crap in pve, go full zerker gear for more dps (that bit of toughness knights/cavalier got isnt worth it). get shelter, when you get used to it you wont ever go back to signet.

if you play only pve, get some dps rune for pve (scholar/strength/cheap ruby orbs) if you also play wvw and cant afford 2 sets, just stick with troopers

at least bad guard or warrior wont be dead most of time, while bad thief will. bad ranger wont use any party support (spring, frost spirit, spotter) and just stay at longbow all the time
whenever i post lfg with my guard or warrior, it fills in seconds. when i do on thief, noone joins
hint: better buy weapons (focus?) to salvage for inscriptions. they may be cheaper, but got hell higher chance than insignias from armors.

3. Less RNG (1st change teq/wurm to token system so we get tokens for completing and can actually earn weapon, not jsut be lucky. same for all further bosses and dungeons (obtaining TA aetherpath weapons is a joke). let us buy weapons from lion specialists directly, not through those crappy keys).)

as for AP…ye, this got nothing to do with skills you. can expect anyone at 2k+ should know how their toon works.
but seeing 10k+ guardian joining party with staff (especially if its ascended/ legendary or some expensive skin) on their back…you know that there is at least 1 person to carry over whole run.
the titles idea is great…but ppl already buy arah (and i got no idea why AC) for tokens, some would buy them for titles as well..

if you want it fast…buy gems and transfer to gold. youre not in such hurry? flip tp. not good? speed clear dungeons. getting gold and buying materials is just faster than trying to gather materials. world bosses are…erm…not really best idea, all good you get from them is dragonite ore for ascended gear.
as for karma, killing tequatl is a good source of it. beside it, you can get some from fractals.
the champ train is sth that should vanish from this game…it leads to situations you end up in dungeon with players that got shiny things and some achievement points (can expect them to be good right?) that got no clue what are they doing. like staff guardians, 5 signet warriors or pistol (and nothing else) engis with their mighty 111111
keep in mind, without farming, flipping, gems or extreme luck (like expensive precursor drop) twilight will take you year or more
from tokens you can as well get 2 ectos out of 10 exos and not a single insignia/inscription with black lion kits (yes, it happened to me). hello great rng!
as for loot…with 136 personal mf+30% food+10% guild+20%amulet (so around 186%, with banner more) i got avg 1rare/run. exo is like…once a week? dont remember when i had lodestone (hell, even core). sure tons of blues/greens.
some ppl are just more lucky
and its still called grinding/farming whatever you like to call it. just some ppl farm faster than the others, but it still doesnt require any skill from you, just lots of time

Ac all path, CM all path, TA up-fw, SE 1-3, Cof 1-2, CoE all path, Hotw 1 do most of this dungeon every day, if you can all is better, if you got a guild\friend party most of this path take you less then 15 min each
lets say average 10mins with good group
thats 3h just dungeoning. not touching any other party of game. itd be around 20gold + loot. now t6 mats...2000×0,25 = 500gold. just for one gift. over 2 weeks of grinding dungs 3h/day [how else can you call that?] for just one gift. it feels more like a job than a game…
without flipping, its hundreds of hours of pure grind. and anet said we wont be grinding here….

Because they are first timers that panic at anything that is a little bit of challenge and don’t see map chat.
stacking on the edge and pressing 111111 isnt any kind of challange
and i dont believe mesmer with twilgiht should panic lol…and that what just happened on SFR. 4 platforms killed their warden 5, and on 1 platform there was this mesmer camping with twilight and other guardian camping with scepter…fail..same range noobs screwed at next attempt 4/5. ppl begged them to go stack in meele, but they had to screw event for 80-100 other ppl. it feels like they’re doing it on purpose.
