Level-based zone scaling

other games have done where they mobs scale to what it hits them wow does it eso recently did it its such a nice mechanic. ^^ No the mobs dont have set lvls they scale to your lvl for each person who hits them you can be lvl 80 killing a mobs which is scaled at your lvl (tougher hits harder for you) while next to you another player lvl 60 kills another mobs scaled to his lvl. Now i think it works a bit diff when multiple ppl from diff lvls hit the same mob lets say world boss but you can make it work there as well somehow (the invasion pre legion events had this kind of scaling where lots of ppl from various lvl were killing bosses)

You know a great feature would be if all zone scaled to your lvl instead of you scaling to their lvl or just being outlvled by mobs in a zone. If the map were propperly scaling the all zone at max lvl would be a tiny bit harder so better scaling from core tyria to expac zones ( hot issues wont happen again). This could make the game fel more alive you know, when you explore as you get stronger your foes do so as well its not jsut an icon showing you the zone is higher lvl than you you will get one shotted but it still remains enganging at max lvl .

This would also push you towards exploring further than hat youd normaly explore since you get more option and you are not lvl gated. Also the actual lvling might even be better since you get more option you can go lvl by doing events in zones you enjoy but might have been higher lvl before (for example i really like the south zones( athe ones close to orr and orr it self , as well as the char zones and i’d like to explore them while lvl lets say an asura and lvl through doing events and hearts there).

I think overall that would make you a free player, it would let you pick wahtever path you want explore as much as you like be a free man actually instead of following a set path with story or just spamming tomes of knowledge.

its good to hear about the leather farm finally and the ml fix tahts good but its sad that we will not see the lengendary armor for like 3 more months at this point im good with just getting the raids as well as the prec tho and after that i think it would be ok to w8 that time for the legendary armor.

A good mesmer is a boon to any group with alacrity, quickness and all the utility they have. There’s just one problem, I rarely see good mesmers in fractals. Most are people who don’t seem to know at all what wells, focus #4 and quickness are about. And of course, quite often they camp GS in addition to the aforementioned issues.

Sure, but there have to be DPS classes to prop up to begin with. You are really going to feel the mesmer’s abysmal DPS if you get a group with a druid, mesmer, power necro, and ele without might to prop him up.

The other problem is mesmer tools have skill cap, especially iWarden usage and continuum split, on top of the fact that mobs are wont to disrupt your combos by one shotting the clones unlike raid bosses who rarely target clones.

A guardian can achieve reflect and protection/aegis for the group while also providing quickness bursts, only missing alacrity but being massively easier to play and bringing much, much more personal DPS.

Don’t forget that the mesmer requires awareness from the group as well since possitioning the wells for maximising the quickness/alacrity can mean the difference between mediocre and fast runs so both the mesmerhas to place the well properly as well as the team to not run out the moment he does becaue they got agony kittenblocked xD

The rest of us just show up and do what we do and try to have fun with it. For the most part, even T4 fractals aren’t difficult enough to require that everyone bring a specific build, fill a specific role, or even be totally pro at playing their class. And for most groups I’ve entered so far, we complete the fractal and nobody complains. No big deal.

I was worried about it at first due to the way people talk about this on the forums. But so far, it’s been all fun and games showing up to upper tier fractals with my celestial tempest auramancer. I don’t die much, even while I don’t put out zerker damage. I throw my boons and heals around like I want to and we finish the fractal and get loot. No problem.

yeah tbh was starting to get bored with the game affter a while and now im just running fractals with whatever weapons i feel like (gs mesmer xD ) and so has everyone for a while but i just dont bother hiding it i just want a smooth run so i can get my dailies done and log out and since its a pug whats the bad about it.

HOT has fallen completely flat to me, story wise, lore wise, map wise, the destruction of build diversity in PvP and WvW. I spent that money to show support for what a great game GW2 was, i will not be purchasing the next expansion after everything becoming toilets that must be fed with massive amounts of farming.

oh that before there wasnt massive toilets that must be fed with massive amounts of farming? if so why were ppl spamming dungeon tours all day long if not for the gold for the "toilets"

i understand that you wanted to see braham acting like an actual norm(me too) but think of the characters background how was his relationship with his mather and how was it cut off so soon after they started talking and connecting again (refering to lw2)
the fact that norms are writen as these being that act that way and are all about that stuff etc doesnt mean they are locked from expressing other emotions and feelings.

Im not mad with this direction as long as it properly develops and we see braham return to what the fans of the story want him to be.

Also about how the sylvari are different from what we were told and it was writen, im not sure what you mean there, i havent read books or anything so not really fammiliar with how the sylvari are different from what they were presented to be.

Armor is meant to be more prestigious and thus reserved for in-game rewards. Not only are they more expensive, because 3 weights = 3 outfits, they’re also far less profitable. Releasing them regularly outside of expansions would likely mean using them as gold sinks, costing 100+ gold per piece.

I dont agree with this sure they can be prestigious and ofc they should be ingame rewards armors play the game outfits buy from the gem story but i wouldnt say they are not profitable dont forget that armors if are aquired through lw season 2 procces (like the luminescent sets) it would give high replayability value to living world making more ppl who didnt play at the time of release consider buying the episodes for these cool rewards and for those who stay they will get to see more gemstory items ssince they are online playing making they possible buyers.(i stopped playing for sometime after ep 2 and so i missed the amazing draagon wing glider skin (the glint like one))

They dont need to be gold sinks they never needed to be they just need to be smartly gated behind various things just like the sets in the hot maps just like the luminescent armors etc.

This would also help with the issue of lvling world updates being falling short for many ppl since the skins take only like a day to aquire.

Yeah but im not sure if like a set of armor per year would be like too much to ask honestly i understand the reasoning behind it but then you see other games like in wow where they make 1 unique armor set for each class and then they have to test taht armor set to all races that can have that class as wellas to tweak it for male female now i understand that blizzard is a huge company but if they manage to make all this procces more than once per year d say its not that much to ahve 1 armor set in lets say living world seasons considering taht each season would be a year.

I mean athis will also boost the sales to players that didnt buy play during the time they ahd t get it for free,i for example really liked the luminescent armor from season 2 to the point where i bought all the episodes from 1 to 6 even tho not all ahd the armor pieces attached to them.

Also since i dnt beieve they will add another legendary armor in a long while since making the first one has taken them so long, making armors for living world gives further replayability value to that content meaning more ppl whith have stuff to do and be happy.

I hope this isnt far fetched and unrealistic but since it happened to me i suppose there might be a number of ppl that did the same cant be the only one xD.

I was wondering how come anet has such a hard time making armor sets i think in a ama long time ago they said it takes them 8 moonths to make 1 armor set (i thinka an armor set for them its all 3 types). I’m curious why is that the case and why if possible couldn’t they release 1 armor type set each time it would take longer but we would have 3 armor types in due time.

I ran the Aurene quest for the first chapter of living world season one and never gave her the smoked fish. I kinda wanna see if I can raise Aurene to be evil. Is there anything else terrible I can do?

Given how much criticism we’ve thrown at ANet this year (some of it was even deserved), they had a lot of stuff to fix. I’d rather see them refining the main game and working on new stuff, rather than working on festivals.

It really is sad how long it takes Anet to push content. Saying that they aren’t a sub based MMO or that the raid team is small is not an excuse, it’s entirely their fault.
They chose this payment model and the fact that they don’t have enough employees is just ridiculous.
It literally takes them 4 months to release 2 bosses… Meanwhile, WoW just released a new raid with 11 encounters 3 months after their first legion raid (which had 7 bosses).

iirc having ppl pay you 30 dolars er 2 months is good for business and it help with the production of content also first gw2 raid had 9 boss like encounters and the second raid will have 4 not 2 while first legion raid had 7 bosses and the next one had 3

HOT fell pretty flat in most areas of the game.

Lore wise the game is off. Even wooden potatoes comments that alot of the living story lines dont seem to follow along with how the culture of the races. Like Braham is from the wolf clan and they never forget. They even appreciate there elders more after death and braham is acting super odd. And Anet answer is that they knew people who acted weird in those situations.

The problem is they are people NOT LIVING IS THIS WORLD. Not to mention they are humans who are of a completely different culture.
now it is breaking apart.

I was super intersted in learning more since GW2 has books out i personally love the Norns and Sylvari but Anet literally does everything possible to spit in the face of the characters and races identities so they can throw out living story content while the patch up together another uncompleted expansion they probably hope to sell to us for another $100.

so you’d prefer all norms to be robots programmed to act accordingly in 1 situation? how does that make for interesting character if all norms had an x character all sylvari a y and all the asura a z

you can say that how braham is acting is childish sure i agre but i much more prefer it than the generic norm would would add in a specific way just because he was discrubed as such this gves depth to his character

if you would keep atching some of the next vids of wp you would find out that ppl came out and ssaid the same stuff as me now and wp acknowledged and agreed with this opinion

oh and btw the expac was solf for 40 euro or idk 50 $? the 100 you payd you got sme more stuff like 4k gems caracter slot and other stuff but thaat was your choice anet didnt force you to do that.

“Things that need to NOT be on next exp” – I don’t know if something need to be or NOT in an expansion.
I will try to tell what I don’t want to find in the next XP
1. Changes to specialization skills. Be honest ANet, don’t over power some skills only to cut them in half after 2-3 months. The chronomancer is a good example. I don’t debate here if alacrity was OP at 66%. I don’t debate here if the quickness output was OP or not. What I want to say is that the final Chronomancer is totally different of what the Chronomancer was at release. So, don’t change the new elite skills during the game. Because this means gear change and that means gold wasted by players.
2. Hiding common rewards behind exclusive content. I don’t like to see content designed for only a very few to be used as a wall for rewards desired (and needed) by all, as in HoT: experience, masteries – I don’t think these are extraordinary rewards – are hidden behind raids. Even a new legendary weapon needs all the masteries unlocked. Or the legendary armor – this is an armor - I don’t think an armor is something to be “protected” by a content designed for only a small part of the playerbase. Even if that armor has the “legendary” word in the description. Create special and exclusive content for your hardcore players. Make the rewards to be generous. But don’t make this content the only way to have that rewards
3. I don’t like to see the design of the “horizontal progression” with the idea of grind in mind. Repeating some tasks may be fun. Sometimes you want to do this. But being forced to do this tens of times only to have one MP or an achievement is not funny. I forgot the achievement related with the defense of Tarir. Correction: Hundred of times.
4. Changing of the rules during the play: changing recipe components / recipe quantities / droprates in some places because ANet does not want the players to grind/make profit etc. Changes in the game affecting the items already owned by the players – see the skill points before HoT / the agony resistance change – the amulet.

Disclaimer: These are things I don’t like. I’m sure other players may like the aspects I wrote about. I’m not sure if these aspects need to be or to miss in the next XPac.
But I think Anet should correctly advertise the XPac if some content is exclusive. And to clearly tell to the buyers that some content is not for all. And some rewards too – if this is the case.

name me 1 mmo that has done some huge changes or even added a new class into the game and it was so well belanced that they never needed to go back and tweak it in some way name me 1 and ill take my hat off to you.Ofc a class will not be perfect on release and ofc it will require balancing thats to be expected, the developers after all are humans xD and ofc you will need to tweak your gear to remain efficient at what you do depending on those balance changes if not the game would be stale and not fun.Balancing around what gear ppl buyed and not around whats overperforming and underperfoming is bad design philosophy.

whats the issue of exclusive rewards for specific forms of content? Realy i mean its a way to reward those dedicated to some form of content with rewards fiting of their dedication and acievement in raids case its legendart armor in fractals case its legendary backpiece in pvp’s case its legendary back piece srsly whats wrong with that if exclsive rewards werent a thing you wouldnt have a way to notice the one veteran of said content over the dozens casuals and new to the content it also gives a solid goal for ppl n make them get into said content if you dont like it thats fine but im amazed that you thing that giving something that the veterans of a certain game mode can look forward to is something that is much needed in mmos

let me get this straight you feel forced to do tarir 100 times because of an achievement? let me tell you something in case you are an achievement hunter the ap rewards take ages to update and new update to content bring tones of ap each time so not bothering with that 1 specific achievement that force you to do something you dont enjoy stops being such a big issue.

Anet surpisingly advertised their expc really well (well if you dont consider the fact that we still dont have all the hot legendaries the fractal leaderboards and the legendary armor) but they did state that some content was exclusive to certain audience and some rewards were also exclusive to certain audience.That being raids whch was content for those who wanted something challenging and legendary armor that was rewards for thoe who were willing to accept such challenge.

Salvage pit is really weird, because it’s the only adventure I know that gets harder with more people.

The area should boot people who die.

That’s a good idea. If you die inside it would teleport your corpse outside the pit, up to the spot where you enter the pit. This would make it easier for other players to revive you so you don’t have a long walk back.

Some of them might not be griefing though. Some players have a habit of not waypointing when dead because they hope someone will revive them. Often times it’s because you have a long walk to get back to where you were when you died. But in the salvage pit adventure, reviving dead players isn’t an option because you’ll get killed yourself and/or get a lousy score and have to start over. Though it is possible some players didn’t waypoint on purpose because it interferes with others doing the adventure.

w8 i thought you could hit reset if you die while in the adventure and you would be taken at the start again isnt that the case?

Fractal (lack of) loot

-Completing dailies is 4×3+3=15 boxes a day (including daily recommanded). That is 105 boxes a week.
-You DONT get ascended 1-2 times a week. You just have (higher) chance of getting an ascended box in t4. Last time i got one is weeks ago, if not month(s).
-You get 15’ish stabilized matrixes a day average. A bit more if you salvage rings. Wich have fairly high chance of dropping. But not guarenteed.
-Deldrimor ingot, elonian leather and damask are possible drops yes. But kinda rare. I would not wait for them.
-Karma is pretty much useless.
-You can buy some nice stuff with fractal relics, But you cant really turn it into gold. I mean i got even over 7k of them. (Yes i do have the infinite omni potion as well).
-Fractal weapon skins are buyable and golden ones are craftable. And there for lost their value imo. So meh..

My daily gain from fractals is about 10g and 15 stabilized matrixes. Wich i keep for attributed infusions. I think that this is fine in general. But on other side, you dont get rewarded for doing other or more fractals a day. Yes you still get the encrypted boxes and such. But outside dailies, these are so minor. I dont consider it is worth doing it. I think that many people (including myself) would appreciate if the general fractal drop would improve. Outside of dailies. This way more people would play/do/enjoy more fractals more often.

Edit: I just renembered that i (and many others) used to make 35/50g a day, from doing multiple dungeons back in the days. Before it got nerfed. So.. yeah.. let that sink in for a moment.

karma is useless lul xD… pact agent location let that ink in for a moment xD also i would agree that it was nice that you could make 50g in dungeons but make the math on time you put in fractals for 10 gold and the time you usedto puti dungeons for 50g and apparently its not anets focus to have fractals been farmed for more than an hour per day even if its their core 5 man end game

Whatever the reason, those necro-drood groups often have to wait for quite some time before they fill up. At least that’s what I see when checking the LFG.

tbh most of these problems where what ppl faced the first month or two after the expac launched i agree that the various events or current event icon would benefit massively from the arrows that the hero points have ( you know the ^ and down that the icons had depending on your map location) which already exists and the map also brightens the lvl of the map your are on so you can understand where you are and which parts are on the same lvl so not sure what more would you like.

You are correct; the arrows are very helpful.

But, they’re not enough. I would like to know how to get there. Not when I’m exploring for the first time. But, once I’ve been through the area a couple times, I want to know how to get around. Without having to memorize it.

Show me colored tubes where passages above and below me are. Same colors as the arrows.

Or, put the stairs on the map for each area as it is mapped. Show them from wherever I am on the map, rather than requiring me to get close enough to see them. And, let me know if they themselves are on another level, for which I have to find an alternate means of access.

Or, let me hover over what I’m trying to get to, and have those green arrows from missions show up pointing the way. I mean, that’s the only way I could make my way through while doing the storyline. Expand that so I can do it after that.

There are probably dozens of other ways to fix this. They already know they screwed up royally. But knowing it and doing something about it are two different things. The arrows were a start, but they are (or should be) far from done.

“they already know they screwed up royally”?? lul the fact that they didnt take your hand and walk you to the specific part of the map you want doesnt mean the screwed up royally sure the stairs icon would be really nice but even without it you can find your way after like a minute of looking at your map. Deff not a royal screw up buut some qol icons on the map would be really nice i agree.

I’m fine with enough personal challenges (HPs, MPs) being made accessible to solo players who have no stomach for exploration, but if the next expansion is nothing but solo play, meta events that require zero organization, and flat terrain with no exploration you can count me out!

The original design of the game was that events would draw solo players together to complete group content. In general, the majority of MMO players play solo, which was probably the idea. Season 1 caused everyone to flood the maps, so in response, ArenaNet tried to split people up, which began the new ~4 group split design. The obvious problem with that however was that now 4 to 10x the amount of players were realistically needed, which caused the LFG problem. The harder it is to simply show up and play, the less people will show up and the faster the content is going to die out.

Organization in HoT is not required, unless you consider popping tags and force-filling the map organization. An even distribution of players is all you need. With a better UI, you wouldn’t even need commanders, and splitting the population into lanes/teams could have even been entirely automated, which would have been far more successful, much like WoW’s LFR.

There’s always going to be exploration, because ArenaNet’s always been about that. The maps aren’t going to be flat flat, but don’t expect to see complex multi-layered zones. As shown by HoT pre-launch, people don’t care about the complexity, what they’re going to focus on is how many zones and how big they are on the map, because they’re going to compare it with what the competition offers. That’s probably why they went with a new zone for every episode, because the lack of them was one of the common complaints.

Hero challenges should be completely redone imo, changing them from simple events to 1vs1 hero challenges; basically skill tests and played out like adventures. It would be an easy way to teach and test players, rather than letting people continue to effortlessly zerg without consequence. They’d still need an alternative however, such as paying gold to win, because they can’t risk blocking progression.

I wouldn’t be surprised if masteries as they are end up being scrapped. Core masteries that are actually needed should be through simple leveling, whereas points are for the more cosmetic ones. The problem is, with no direction, people can turn masteries into a nearly impossible grind instead of the casual experience it can be. Personally, I would preferred something more like a character-based level cap increase, like if HoT offered 20 HoT-specific mastery levels and enemies were level 80 + mastery level.

man on my main i have like 300 hp standing there doing nothing jsut because the maguma hp give 10 isntead of 1 doesnt mean you only need to do those if you cant stomach it do the core tyria ones.

Let me tell you about this little MMO, World of Warcraft, believe it or not you can go from 1 to max lvl and get all skills soloing. I know WoW is not as popular as GW2, but you anet might want to pull a page from their book.

Diff skill aquisition methods man in one game you are given for free your skills on the other you unlock them through skill points. This little game of your has gotten so much complaining over the years for abandoning the previous method of buying skill points with gold from lvling since that was a real payoff and it felt better.

In the end it felt good completing the eite spec that way rather than be given my elite spec for free with no hardships.

Which means that any of the many GW2 players who did not adopt HoT at launch and try it later face not only those issues, but empty maps. The LFG/taxi work-around is not an intuitive means to maybe find the one working map. What kind of an impression does that make?

Imo the experiment to put harder content in open-world maps is a dismal failure. Expecting the average player to not only want to deal with the HoT mobs, but also to need to use a map-loading meta-system that means several maps fail while one map outnumbers the mobs to an easy win was always going to succumb to diminishing returns as the game population moved on to the next new thing. Design that requires one either be on the leading edge to succeed or be aware of/willing to use grouping systems that are not intuitive and often result in frustration and failure is design built for failure as content ages.

Thats not a map design issue this could easily be fixed if anet would ever bring back the old channel system from gw1 where you could see the maps and if they are full or not and accordingly join one also i joined the expac around when the second raid wing released and i didnt have much trouble getting all the hero points and completing the the maps either solo or with friends or just by being smart against certain situations.

They captured the feeling of what an alien and unknown to us territory should feel like the first time we encounter it whenever is that time for someone at first it should be hard and challenging and now its doable/soloable and does not require groups of ppl to pull off.

Leading edge to succeed? lul if you say someone need to be good at the game and on end gear to pull off the content they you are mistaken as far as the most hp go you can easily solo them as far as you teak your build to deal dmg and from there even exotics will do fine.

The maps are group finding freindly because they were meta heavy nd that to some lvl was a bit too much its good to see that with the new maps they take a break from glorified meta chains but idd like them to go back to taht for the next expac tho since it gives memorable moments as well as the feel of epicness while it shows the multiplayer asspect the best. Also meta maps thend to be te more lively and active which is a good thing.

One more thing the “difficult content on open world maps” wasnt an exririment it was an long time standing request by the players who were able to one sot everything oen world in the game wihout a problem.The only isssue i find is that they shold have worked on the difficulty scaling on each lvl scale map better so the transition would be more natural, but should we feel like its was a msitake no hell no its goo to see things get harder the payoff feels better that way(well.. with a limit ofc its open world after all).

The vertical maps aren’t the root issue. It’s that you can’t tell what level you’re on without stopping and checking the map. Further, even that (checking the map) is grossly limited.

But the most important problem is that you can’t tell how to go up or down. You can be standing right over an icon, and not be able to find a way up or down to it.

There needs to be an up/down signaling system. Like the icons for stairs and elevators in the big cities. Or, some kind of color-coding or shading showing where tunnels and vertical movement points are. Just marking the bouncing mushrooms on the map would be a start.

They may have learned their lesson, since all of the Season 3 content has been on normal maps again.

tbh most of these problems where what ppl faced the first month or two after the expac launched i agree that the various events or current event icon would benefit massively from the arrows that the hero points have ( you know the ^ and down that the icons had depending on your map location) which already exists and the map also brightens the lvl of the map your are on so you can understand where you are and which parts are on the same lvl so not sure what more would you like.

1. its an mmo like are you for real? they said so many times that the jungle is challenging the enemies there aren’t a cake walk and you should be extra happy when see other ppl that try to get the same thing as you and that i really like it tried to break the “play together alone mentality the game has”
2. this was 1 of the biggest pros of the expac they took the exploration aspect of gw2 and multiplied its awesomeness.(if the next expac was idd crystal desert i would die for like a huge desert map with a massive cave system underground it, all in all more vertical maps pls.
3. sure if they can at least keep the next elite spec in like with how are the current elite specs right now no how they were on release( 66% faster cds xDDDDD) ill be really happy and ofc each elite spec being strong in a diff aerea than then previous while trying to not step onto other base class build’s territory.

Okay let me make your post invalid real quick ahem elite spec were created to further enhance a class by adding skills and traits that further help the class shine in specific scenarios for example rev’s elite spec makes his really good for dmg supporting and rangers elite spec makes him a dps support and healer and their elite spec weapons tent to compliment said specific playstyles in no way shape or form these weapons are mandatory or overshadow other option and with the amazing feature that gw2 has which is called weapon swap you can have a second set of weapons in your off hand to fill other needs for example ranger in specific power druids use longbow sword axe ( wheres the staff? I DON’T KNOW).

Revs use sword axe (or sword sword in fractals ) and staff (where the shield? I still DON’T KNOW) now sure these elite specs do use the elite spec bind weapons but in diff builds that fill diff niches and or are for diff scenarios (example being (i think not following the pvp rev builds) they use shield /sword and staff and druid use the cancerous staff).

now it might come off as a surprise but some classes have completely abandoned the elite specs and weapons in order to fulfill other niches and play styles prime examples being condi mesmer or condi ranger which both run elite specless (isn’t that wonderful :’) ) .

I’ll say this again in case i haven’t mentioned it and i’m too bored to go back and look the class comes with existing specs that fills certain niches and have buffs for certain weapons these weapons being the base weapons each class had in vanilla elite specs are a trait line you unlock through training (the rpers will tell you).

The base specs and weapons are there as an introduction and choice for the the player who hasn’t unlocked his elite spec ( through the rp process ) so they can play the game and they stay relevant post elite spec. (elite specs is a fancy name for new specs that require more work and bring a new weapon to the list of weapons a class can use.(also its catchy and makes ppl buy their expacs )

Now the reason they don’t need elite spec is: wouldn’t it be confusing to a new player if he goes in a fractal with base longbow (lets say he play ranger ) and his team tells his to use his lb 5 thinking he has the lb elite spec and he without knowing uses the default lb skill set which would lead to needless salt.

Another one is these weapons already had their specs and trait lines which buff them so in theory each weapons already had its spec.

And another one is that that would require to make x new elite specs for all the classes to have an elite spec for their base weapons which i don’t know if its developement time i want to see been done over just adding entirely new stuff and i’m not sure anet even has the budget to make this a reality.

1 more thing id like to add is that making all the elite specs that will come in the game baseline spepcs would be that you would be able to equip multiple at once and that is a big nono for balancing reasons

(here are some further examples of classes using base weapons over elite spec ones :
power ps warr
-condi mess
-condi druid
-standard rev in raid (2k17LUL) and fractals
-guards (the dont use lb in raid what so ever lb is good for wvw and maybe pvp and even sometimes for pve but in general in pve its replaced)
-engi (lul they dong run elite spec in pve ) xDDDD ( i think)
-(place a random thief build that doesn’t use staff, if none is found “you got me there”)
-standard dps ele in pve they most likely will be running staff (but there is the dagger/warhorn build so we could argue about the eite spec weapon overshadowing -other base off hands)
necro (both builds are dead in raids (jk) condi doesnt use gs / power uses gs and honestly im glad they do coz gravedigger spam is fun).

lastly future elite spec (if all goes well will fill other niches and will not overshadow the other weapons unless they are another powercreep like the first elite specs).

OP didn’t say he can’t solo the 1st boss on normal mode. So he can believe it because OP never stated this possible fact.

OP stated that he can 2 man the scale 100 fractal to give an indication of his skill level. If he could solo it he would have mentioned that instead.

I have nothing against OP nor his skill in fractals. But its just illogical to tell someone to “just solo” content that they are clearly having trouble with

My point remains that if he cannot solo the normal version why would he be able to solo a version that is substantially harder than the normal version? That doesn’t make any logical sense

so does my point tho unlike the normal 100, 100 cm is easier with less ppl and even easier solo it will just take longer the normal 100 doesnt get any easier the less ppl you do it with. 2 manning it means that he generaly get the idea and the flow of the first encounter with that being said it should take some tries before he can solo it ofc just to nail down the timings and the strats he should follow but should find it easier to solo rather than 5 man pug it since other may kitten you up.

Most will agree that it’s long overdue. It seems that anet has extremely inefficient methods to create content. No other company (exception: Japanese) take so long to create even small stuff. Nearly 1.5 years to create Legendary Armor wtf? I won’t start with the super slow release of new content…

anet has a really slow pace when it comes to armor sets not content in general dont mix the two the last couple of months have been great for everyone other than raiders and im sure as soon as the legendary armors are out of the way new raids will take far less time to be released

they will not release the armor without the next wing and the next wing ahsnt released because the light/medium arent done yet. Now this is speculating but WHAT IF THE MODEL IS THE SAME FOR ALL RACES BUT WHEN IN COMBAT IT CHANGES TO FIT EACH RACE? that could be a good enough reason for it to be taking so long.

this is purely a question about the system of ranked pvp and i was wondering if the rewards you get in ranked are given to you right after the the games or is it like other competitive games where you play and accoriding to what you achieved in 1 season you get rewards at the end of the season.   1. If ANet continues to choose to prioritize other content instead of LS1, what is a good and inexpensive way to do that? Does the current “recap” work for that purpose?

thats what i dont get sure new content is fun and all but its the first presentation of a game that make the biggest impression on a player many ppl have the first impresion of watching a 4(?) ish min vid that explains what happened in an entire lw season and then they are droped with some characters and tbh the vid doesnt even make a nice job

also might i add i like open world alot it just as the Main focus end game pve content it doesn’t keep you invested for more than fractals do i mean going through the maps collecting mats doing the dailies and such does not take more time and it can be done without the need to socialise at all. Open world fails at being a good end game pve content because it doesnt absorb you into what happens you rarely if ever need to communicate and focus… most are doing it while watching netflix or something at least instansed content requires you somewhat to be there and do what you have to do.

Why is it that the main thing by far that pvers do is limited to 45 mims per day while it asks me when i reach 80 and try to progress them to sink tons of gold into propering for them (foods pots omnipotion asc armor weapons infusions etc) did i do all this for just 45 mins per day??

I don’t think you are upset, I think that you are confused about what the main thing PvE’rs are doing (I’ll give you a hint, it isn’t instanced PvE). It may be the main thing by far that you want to do for PvE, and that is ok, just express it as such.

The game doesn’t force you into Fractals when you hit 80, it only informs you that they exist and that they have their own form of progression. Foods, pots, Omnipotion are not required for Fractals. Does it make it easier, yes, that is not my point. You are arguing that you did all of that for just 45 min a day, and I’m saying that is irrelevant because it wasn’t required to complete the content.

You seem confused that I don’t want Fractals to be more rewarding. I do, but I have a very firm limit on what I think is acceptable. Being above or equal to open world is unacceptable.

since they focus on open world pve then why all 3 maps they have released so far are very low populated i mean if the majority of pvers do them shouldn’t they be flurishing with players running around doing events and such

may i add that the design was that of a human ? it will surely have flaws that other ppl will take advantage of hence the botters and the exploiters they cant make the game imune to third party programs or make everything perfect so theres no chance of exploitation.(i think thats the case at least hue) .
