also while I could care less if they put the legendary fractal back skin on the raid vendor, im not sure its an accurate comparison. it doesnt take nearly as long to make a back skin, and its taking them to make this armor.
of course Im also probably in the majority, I dont give a crap what it looks like, only going to use it for the minimal use of stat changing and will transmute mine seconds after putting it on anyway.

While the proposed idea is great, trying to actually develop it is gonna be an issue. As in right now you got a minimum of 12 weeks work of effort to obtain the necessary LI to craft your Envoy armor, and that’s assuming you are killing all 13 bosses. With the exception of Escort, each of the encounters are more challenging than any of the fractals (even Nightmare CM) due to the amount of players and coordination required. Granted, I recognized things have been low-manned and such, but I’m taking about the general community and not the hardcore folks.
If there were a Legendary set to get to through Fractals? I almost feel as if there would need to be massive amounts of actual Challenge Motes (not just the whole -80% healing), or we would have to break into a new tier of fractals where the difficulty is ramped up.
Ultimately, an equivalent amount of effort should have to go into get Legendary Armor should a new avenue for it open up. Not saying that fractals is the only other way it can be done, but you also don’t want something that is dramatically easier/less time consuming than raids. Otherwise you’ll detract the player base from raids that are only in it for the armor.
they can tweak that with price or amount of unique currency (fractal li)m required for the armor and the fact that ppl who do raids only for the armor will detract fromr aids makes no sense because when the raid armor releases that will happen anyways im asking that they dont keep it only in raids and only 1 set.All about balancing they get to decide.

Because its exclusive reward, they need a WvWvW legendary armor, and maybe fractals but not the same armor.
If they would add the same armor for fractals, so why not the fractal legendary backpack is in the raid vendor too?

It doesn’t matter if they try to generate revenue from their players so long as many people think the game isn’t worth playing for many reasons based on their recent decisions.
Thing is tho that in certain places they refine and improve old content like with fractals and somewhat pvp but yes im of the opinion that they should create a strong core first and then move to new stuff since the first thing new players see and experience and come to the game for is these core features.
100% agree on this – the UI is so cluttered! I would love to see the story/daily info pane and squad/party pane on tab sliders on the side and the chat pane collapsable to just the typing line. And the target info – I can’t count the number of times I’ve had target skills misfire or just not go off at all because it’s huge, center and way too low on the UI. The map-wide announcements also need to be shifted to not splash across the middle of the UI essentially halting any targeted skills until they vanish – no a little "x"on your tool tip is not enough when you are using targeted skills.
OR everything should become click thru when you enter combat.
The UI is not clattered gw2 has a very clean UI in general the only issue is that there’s no option for mouse cursor to ignore nameplates map etc when you use skills in combat and that’s they only thing id try to change. Oh and also add bigger health bars top mobs in fractals raids certain times you need to target a specific mod and tabing until you get it takes time and also the health bar and the name plate is so small is hard to click target

There have been cases of designers that created piece of art that 1 company liked and ended up hiring them that can also happen here since his designs aren’t far from the style that gw2 follows and the fractal thematic is presented really really well.
Expect similar difficulty to the Chaos and Nightmare fractal.
highly depends the nightmare fractal is obviously added as a stepping stone to raids and i guess in a way same with chaos that doesn’t mean the next one would be on the same lvl with these 2 or even higher in terms of difficulty.
So they can do more “stuff” to make the game better…

No to the level 80 boosts, it doesn’t take that long to level your own character. And for tomes, a lot of people already complain about having too many tomes. I can’t imagine very many people would pay for even more tomes
-Map completion packs, per character only.
Full map completion. As in filling out all hearts, HP, vistas, PoI, and WPs? That’s ridiculous, and is the start of the slippery slope that leads to P2W, or even worse, P2P. Doing hearts already counts towards an achievement, allowing people to pay gems to complete achievements just sounds like a bad idea from the start. Similarly, this would be unfair if it awarded GoE, but at the same time if it didn’t award GoE, and even if it came with profuse warnings about this, people would buy it and complain about not getting their “free” GoE, which would lead to resentment from them.
-Sell each booster individually and in packs.
Yes, I really don’t know why they aren’t. And bringing back karma bonfires would surely sell
-Race change. This would work really really well coupled with having dwarves as a playable race.
I’ve never understood why so many players are obsessed over race changes. Just make a new character. This would present a lot of technical difficulties to implement, and I really can’t see that many people using it. Gonna have to say no.

Abso-kittening-lutely not! This is blatant P2W, allowing players to bypass playing certain content just by shelling out loads of gems to acquire the currency for 0 effort. And Laurels are time gated by design. Allowing players to buy more just defeats the purpose.
-VIP monthly sub with perks.
Again, abso-kittening-lutely not! This always leads to preferential treatment for the VIP players. And I don’t mean little things, but it always devolves until if you aren’t a part of this VIP club the game becomes almost unplayable short of putting in about 80 hours a week. This would kill the game as we all know it
That’s a good start I think, but what are your ideas to help the devs increase their resources quickly so they have the resources to do more “stuff”?
First off I have to say, why do you automatically assume its a lack of money for ANet that is causing them to not have develoment time to do a lot of things? Its entirely possible that they are just trying to do too many things at the same time (a huge portion of their developers are only working on the next expansion, then you have Raid team, fractal team, PvP team, WvW team, LW teams, general PvE teams, Gem Store teams etc….). They are just trying to do too many things at once, so a lot of teams seem to have too few devs assigned to them to implement what we want to see.
Now, my replies to your suggestions are in bold. If they really want/need to increase gem store sales, they need to look at items that people aren’t buying, look at why people aren’t buying them, and then react accordingly. A great example is the Upgrade Extractor. Its expensive, coming in at over $3 each if you buy individually, down to $2.50 if you pay $62.50 worth of gems at the same time to get 25 of them. I can’t imagine those are selling that well since outside of potentially a single sigil in the game right now, its literally cheaper to just buy what you are destroying than it is to extract it. That’s the best way to increase sales, not introducing items that either no one will want or will lead to the slope towards P2W
Tbh i could say yes to be able to change race i mean why not i prefer it from deleting my lvl 80 with elite spec asura gaurd to make a human and do the whole thing from the begining having it as an option wont hurt you and it deff wont hurt those who want it.
Congratulations, you’ve discovered that precursor crafting is both a scam and a trap.
It should have been a slower but cheaper way to get a precursor (as opposed to the instant but expensive way: buying it off the TP), but that would be good for poorer players and hurt the robber barons so Anet couldn’t very well have that.

I don’t like the fractal in it’s current state, and absolutely want to rework it (and other fractals). Right now though my full focus is on the next fractal, and I just don’t have the resources to commit to a Jade Maw rework in the near future. ;(
I completely agree new content should be prioritized over improving old content in terms of fractals. On the matter of the new fractal tho is there any way u could give us a small hint what should we expect in term of difficulty and such (we wont tell anyone

So, the other day i decided to start the collection for The Hunter. The first tier was nice and easy and all was ok untill I saw the required ingredients to actualy craft the first tier precursor (it’s 30 spiritwood planks and 30 deldrimor steel ingots). So I did some simple math and since I had the required materials I sold them at the TP, bought the entire precursor and made 100 g profit.
My question is “How exactly are collections the easier way to get precursors?”
they aren’t meant to be easier they are meant to be on par with the tp.
Fix professions and gameplay in general, and I’ll return to my 30-60 bucks a month in gems for aesthetic items.

I wouldn’t count on anything changing. ArenaNet simply doesn’t have the resources. They had to pull the expansion team the first time they updated HoT. Megaservers have been broken since forever, which is the real problem, but they’ve also admitted that part of the problem is intentional, with maps having reserved priorities and thus half filled. The most I see them doing is simply making HoT F2P, then they can just avoid it.

The funny thing about GW2 is how many people don’t realize that the content is actually balanced for solo play and group events are balanced for 3-5.

Im chrono zerker for fractals and open world, lets see i want to change to condi mesmer well thats 1 full grea set, a set of runes, sigils for that armor also a scepter, a torch and a pistol, change to my traits, abilities, asc trinkets. I have to raid tonight well let me change to minstrel for tanking okay thats a full gear, runes , sigils ,trinkets… yeah do i even need to talk about what will happen when expac 2 arives and with it a whole set on new elitespecs?
I don’t mind this idea, think it could be good. We def need more Leg armors from diff gamemodes. I personally hate WvW but i do feel like WvW Leg armor should be next on the list

Also ofc i understand that makimg these takes time and i accept that id like to see tho the devs expanding it.

Depending on when you quit the game they did work on optimisation by adding a 64 bit client that in it self will reduce the crashes the game had esp in ds they also fixed a bug with a feature that caused massive fps drops for players. On top of that the xp gaims have been massively increased and the mobs have been nerfed to some extend tho some may argue its still hard to run around as zerker ele ^^ as for skills uhmm new skills no, they havent add any iirc, that will only happen with elite spec releases but due to balancing other skills that wasnt used that much and weapons have become more viable.
Edit: also season 3 gas started and the new map are not meta centric so theres also that for players like you who prefer to roll solo.

I agree with you guys, and since there’s a chance devs will read this I’d like to add:
Dividing PvP and WvW is a huge mistake “But oh why and people have been asking for this” – The why: The damage in pvp is a lot lower than in wvw since June 2015. The damage is way too high in wvw but no one ever cared about it. So if you continue to ignore wvw and only care for pvp balance and buff skill x – wvw explodes. Adjust the damage coefficents of both game modes so they’re the same and only balance once just like in the good old days – that’s better than no balance at all like currently in wvw. And you only need one good balance team.
wvw and pvp play diiferently tho so its reasoable to balance it differently
I’ve never understood why some people are convinced it’s better for major rebalancing to happen all the time. It takes the community months to understand the impact of changes and for that understanding to start affecting gameplay all around. Yes, the best among us figure it out quickly, but most of us haven’t even caught up to last year’s rotations, never mind this year’s.
For a game with a playerbase as diverse as GW2’s, with as many distinct game modes, 6 weeks seems the minimum time the devs would need to observe, followed by at least 2-3 weeks of coding/testing.
So while I think 3+ months is on the long side, I think the OP and others are hoping for a different kind of game, in which there are major and minor changes every week and only the best players can keep up. I can imagine that such a game would be fun to play; I just don’t think that’s part of ANet’s vision for this game.
i’d say so we dont have the miror comp for like 2 or 3 months
its not as much about traits as it if about weapons armor trinkets runes and sigils for these yes templates are cool but skills and traits are easily changed on the go.
certain abilities have the nature of high risk high reward like when u do meteor show on ele or when you do your cs rotation with chrono u you die in that process or get cced its your fault for not knowing whats happening around you as well as if you pull it off the pay of is immense hence the dynamic nature of the combat.
tbh i wouldnt mind to be able to merge the salvage tools into kits and maybe throw 4 25 kits or 3 and 3 mystic stones or w/e to the forge for a 100 stack one ^^
but then again u can always buy rimgs from the vendor and salvage them if you have so many asc salvage tools kits u can make a good amoumt of gold from that too ^^

I’m currently in T3 fractals on my ele, she’s got a full set of ascended gear and AR96. But I want to start playing a daredevil. He’s only got exotic and a couple of ascended rings. What’s the best way for me to gear up an alt for Fractals in a time efficient way?
your best bet is to first get to t4 with the ele and easily clear that content daily you will get alot of asc chests from it and u could get asc armor from the ventor but that would require some crafting.
I think in the future aquiring legendary armor from diff modes would be a really cool idea and great insentive to do more of the content the game has. Imho fractals could benefit greatly from having in the future their own fractal themed legendary armor. Now i understand this would take time to materialise but again theres no real issue as fractals are easily accesible end game and ppl play it for the good rewards regardless. Adding a long term prestigious reward like that would be amazing. As for the li problems this could be easily be bipassed by having the items for it be farmable through challenge motes only like the existing ones (100 cm) so ppl are not gated from doimg their normal t4 clears. We saw this with the backpiece as well since ppl didnt ask for anything like that when pugging mai trin or w/e back when it was first released.
necro is as terrible in fractals as it is in raids its the fact that you dont die that allows necro to raid if they introduced fractaks with strict dps chects and timers necros wouldnt even be touched.

Also, they usually move at standard walking pace, which is now way, way below the standard movement rate of players, because speed boosting traits.
even without speed boosting traits etc, they still move painfully slow compared to the player. their standard moving speed is somewhere between player walk and player run speeds without boosts. always has been.

Why not 8 episodes? Because in LS2 the episodes were every 2 weeks sometimes a bit longer, so they could put more.
LS3 is different and we had to figure out what’s happening after Mordremoth’s death so: Pale Tree, Primordus, then we got the info that Jormag is also active and we resolved the problems, we resolved Kryta’s matters, Caudecus is dead, Queen is safe, Canach is no longer Anise’ puppet, we have a new dragon, who is going to be on our side, so only few things are left- we have to figure out what’s going on with Lazarus, the Commander has to say: with me or against me- it concerns Braham especially and Rox as well, because she will have to choose if Braham will not calm down- Stupid Braham or going to kill two dragons without deaths. if thats idd two diff orbs for the two dragons then why is the colouring of each the same back in that cutscene with omad machine we saw the orbs had a diff colour but these "orbs you see are actually of the same colour if even they are orbs.
The idea also that the planet may come to face destruction and problems has been suggested and going for way longer than that “orb prophecy” of yours.

This discussion is pointless. Why ask for 5 man team when maximum allowed in seasons is party of 2? We got more important feedback to provide in this forum.

I really dont find a reason for it to exist, i mean ragers already have spotter and thats fine but why have so a druid can give a 10% dmg increase to the group by just healing? No amount of healing boost or other classes or alacrity u give to some will remove druid from the groups as an absolutely must have class. At this point removing it would be a more effective way to allow other healing classes to see play in pve instanced content.
