Yeah, for some reason exotics that are dropped account bound are worth more to the vendor then ascended ring drops. Bumping up the value of the ring would make sense.

Don’t use the Tower content as a bench mark. It’s designed to be solo content. I soloed all 3 levels with a warrior. I find the guard builds are better when in a group. Not everyone plays them that way but the benefits of having a guard far out weigh using other classes when in a full party. I don’t think they are useless.

Uhhh warrior is extremely strong in pve

My point is, utilize a better comparison. Fractals for instance. High level fractals can be done by any class. Guards are still a viable class. Yes, warriors are strong in pve, they just suck in pvp and wvw. No balance.

We are suckers for keeping the rings which forces us to buy more bank slots. They did not think through how useless pristine relics would turn out to be. Perhaps if the rings didnt drop so frequently players would have then used them as intended.
I have 120 pristine relics, do you really think that Anet will give us other uses for them? I would be sitting on a gold mine if that was the case.

I understand that the harpie knockback can be a pain. The best method being melee with reflects. Those that insist on ranging should keep in mind projectiles in GW2 can be avoided simply by sidestepping quickly to the left and right within the small platforms. When doing this the harpies cannot hit with arrows or knockback. Of course the closer you are the better the chance you will be hit. I soloed it with a warrior while my team tried to use mesmer port trick. They didnt believe me that it was fixed.

Do the enchanters respawn correctly yet on the cliffside or is that still busted once it fails?

This issue was fixed a few patches ago. They will reset to 2 chanters if the party wipes.

You should post specifics. Did you get kicked as soon as you joined the group? Or fighting a boss and they rage kicked you? for examples.

Always be aware of the person who started the instance. Sometimes players forget its them and want to leave to fix armor. When they mention they need to back out just remind them they are the instance owner. When pugging you have to expect issues. I suggest that you find a guild that does fractals and most of the problems will go away. I don’t think it has anything to do with the LFG tool. It works as intended.

Not everyone can melee due to play time/experience. Also take into account that the range abilities of all characters may not be suitable for dungeons but pvp and wvw its the norm. As a warrior, illuisionists, necros, thieves and rangers all keep there distance from me. Having the option of switching to a bow or rifle evens the playing field to some degree. Being that this is a dungeon post, as I got better at this game I transitioned from ranging to melee as most players do. We can’t remove range since its needed for other game types but I do agree with other posts here, dungeons are very linear and require updating.

I love the dredge fractal. Good loot and its very easy. I’ve always been really lucky at getting a thief in my party at lvl 48. For me, the door can easily be done by a warrior. Have the party agro the dredge along the stairs. Use SoR, Endure pain, SiO, Balanced Stance and whatever healing you want that is quick to cast and gives the most HPs. If the group build is not able to run to the door together and pop skills at the door to keep dredge away, I just run with that skill list and never seem to get downed doing it. As long as the rest of the group loses agro the dredge just reset.

When it comes to stacking you also find those players who have trouble with it and are not sure what they can offer the rest of the team when stacked. Those are usually the ones who post that its not needed since they always die. Sometimes I wish there was an option to spec a group who are in a dungeon. That way you could watch everyone’s skills and when they are used to maximize the stack method.

Right. Because nobody DPS’ing the dragon stacks near it’s right paw.

If that was all you did you couldn’t defeat Teq. Without the guns firing and players helping to protect the guns those players that are stacking are useless.

Firin guns requires zero player skill. Defending guns is easy as hell as well, as long not many people are passing by and scaling the event up.

It doesn’t matter if its easy, Without the guns and the protection you can’t defeat Teq. You can stack all day and fail.

Actually, most dungeon encounters takes more skill than Teq, and you shouldn’t use open world crap that requires a bunch of bad players to pull their weight as an example in a dungeon stacking debate. /thread

My point is to show that Anet is making changes to mechanics so stacking is not always going to be the best option. You can also look at the new path in TA as an example. Anet is clearly not allowing us to run all they way to the final boss and there is more interaction with the environment.

I personally never understood full signet builds. Why stack weak passive effects?

is not about passive efects, is about a trait in precision who allow for each unused signet 40precision… thats 200precision more all the time
I run 3signet warrior coz I love me stability in dungeons

No need for stability when you’re melting bosses and dodging correctly.

I use FGJ, SoR, Healing Sig, SiO and a banner when stacking and BS for running. Stability is important, just not all the time. The extra 8s of speed from BS helps when your SoR is on cooldown.

I see a lot of posts on why or why not stack but nothing to say that its ever been changed. Like Teq or Molten facility bosses. Both require more effort then the typical stack meaning that Anet is aware that it is too easy and requires more effort from them. I do not think they will change all bosses like they did for Teq so stacking isn’t going away. My philosophy is stack if the group build warrants it. As stated above, some groups do not have the right players for stacking and you have to adjust or just stick to the same group and always stack. I like completing dungeons quickly and easily. Faster is always better. I do, in the future, see Anet bringing out more mechanics to fights to challenge us.

You can youtube a lot of builds and descriptions on how they are used. Also, check the guardian section in forums. Most players post their builds and vids there. That being said, if your guildies are relying on you to survive then they are the ones that need to L2P.

Remember you can always supplement lower precision or power with food. I went 20/30/0/0/20 based on an duel axe/GS and rifle build. I get 3150 attack with 57% crit chance. Not adding in any other buff or bonus from traits. I agree that maxing your precision to reach 100% crit chance can be seen as a waste since it caps. Not everyone is playing full zerk. I went with PTV armor and used zerk jewels on it, so no runes. Then all the ascended items are either celestial or zerker. I may not be doing full zerk damage but its enough that others don’t notice or ask. As well my survivability allows me to be half asleep while playing since I can afford to miss a dodge here and there.

Attack. Attack is a meaningless term that does not actually have any direct correlation to dps.

For example, a build with 2k attack and a 95% chance to crit will out dps a 3k attack 4% chance to crit build.

All that matters is Power, Precision, Crit damage and base damage modifiers. Tell me those four things and you’ve told me something meaningful. Telling me about his “Attack” is like telling me how many apples he has.

LOL, my reference to Attack is in correlation with my Power. I have a lot of power and a fair amount of precision therefor high DPS. You obviously understand how I reached that number so stating the obvious with your comparison of crit and attack were not necessary. When I look at crit chance I look at attack much like when I look at power I then look at precision. So you can understand further, I put apples with apples and oranges with oranges. Trolling my post is no help to the OP.

The wait time depends on how far you or others get. If I ever fail its usually near the end so my wait time is like 20 secs.

Avoiding trash mobs is a normal step. Why bother with them. I do not understand why anyone would want to kill everything in a dungeon when its not necessary. Here is an example: At lvl 48 fractal you can’t kill everything. On the ice fractal while you have the bonfire burning I have yet to see a crew kill everything that spawns. The purpose of it is to avoid the damage but keep the fire burning. As I see it, this can also be applied to running in dungeons. If I want to get from point A to point B with a minimum amount of risk and casualties then why would I not run past an enemy when I have the option to. To me the fun comes from completing a “run” with no hiccups. Doing that in pug groups is even more enjoyable and allows you to friend for additional “runs”.

I prefer to start a group and continue on what I am doing like selling loot or crafting. Once the group is formed I can then meet them in the dungeon.

Running a dungeon does not mean the players can’t fight. If anything, dungeon runners are more competent then the casual player since they have mastered the methods of defeating bosses quickly, therefor, putting money in the bank quicker for you. You should be thanking those players for putting in the time and effort that you didn’t. I pug all my runs and only a small number of those runs a week will be problematic due to players not understanding the run or poor builds. Dungeon running is not the best way to make gold. I think its the boss zergs found in meta that is more profitable but boring too. As for rezzing a runner that is downed, sometimes its best to let the person sit until you kill the boss up ahead so they get a new spawn point. This saves time and the player saves face in case they fail at running alone to catch up. Just from reading your complaints it tells me that you just need more experience. If your hell bent on killing everything in the dungeon, nobody is stopping you.

The point of the downed state is to give you an opportunity to save yourself. If another player does not want to bother with rezzing you then focus your attacks on a specific enemy and rally. I dont know how many times I had to tell someone that they can rally off blossoms in TA. I will even put a target on an enemy so my team can help kill it before I die. I think Anet is spot on with the set up they are currently running. You do need patience when playing with pugs.

LOL, obviously he was kidding. I elaborated. Lupi is a joke and can be killed quickly.(no sarcasm there) The only reason mossman is difficult is because of his HP scaling. Takes more time to kill which means more chances to get downed.

Yeah, its not possible to get into JQ main for Teq. Always full and my only option is to guest. That’s more work then any boss battle since you need to find the right server to guest to in order to get in then you wait for ever for the fight to begin just to watch it fail.

Really, I don’t find any boss as difficult as Teq. Not because it requires coordination of over 100 players but the chance you can actually get into the area without being in overflow. The boss I have failed on the most is Shaman but that’s history. At the higher levels of fractals I find it hard to get a crap group to pug it. Everyone understands and gets it done.

You see this is not an added event, this is an event that was taking away. With us not being able to beat him now there’s one less event that people can do.

You can still do Scarlet, thats new content. With world bosses now dropping loot players just troll these bosses in a zerg. That wasn’t even a thought 2 months ago. There is plenty of rewarding content out there. This one was upgraded for those players who desired a more challenging event that ran every 75 mins or so. Anet also buffed all the other bosses so it will take longer to kill them anyway. If you have the time to map travel to every boss and defeat it then you have time for Teq.

It is safe to say 99% of players “roll” for swamp and never do dredge first. I have never seen a group at 48 do dredge first. Since rolling is an option percentage is irrelevant.

Just use stability and rush past the first group. When you get them again and you don’t have a guard for reflects just stagger left to right and nothing can hit you and range each one. I can solo that area without getting knocked off or downed.

The first time SAB was released the timer was really short for the W1Z2 boss. IF you fell at the end you lost the chest. Im happy to see they have it set for like 45 secs now which is in the top right hand corner.

world one is extremely easy and can be completed on normal mode in less then 20 mins. The chests given for daily will reward continue coins as well as baubles and a chance for a skin. Don’t be lazy!

Fractals were not mentioned… but mist essences count as “ascended” material perhaps? EVERYONE, BACK TO FRACTALS, GO GO GO!

The essence dropped in fractals is considered an ascended crafting material but its only good for the fractal backpiece and fractal rings. That is why they are listed in a separate area in your materials bank slots. They will NEVER be used for any other ascended items. Much like the pristine relics, they are useless!

If I recall, completing an area on normal mode would reward you with a chest that when opened would have a second chest with a chance for a skin. Has this been changed? I completed world one in all three zones and every chest just had a few baubles and no second chest to open.
