The issue with elite specs is a contradictory one by anet themselves. Now before I get into this I know already the kinda comments i will be getting already saying I’m worng. They never wanted them to be upgrades to the core class, however they clearly were/are clear upgrades to the core classes. The made the elite more powerful then the reagular class. The only ones I see run their core classes anymore are people who don’t own hot, or people who are not level 80. Now this wouldn’t be an issue if the elite spec filled a particular role. Like saying you want to be a support role then you pick an elite spec that centers around that particular. The only problem is that we have to wait another 5 years to get another elite spec before this idea can be made, because they are only going to give us the elite spe with xpacs. So you going to pick the the elite spec over you core class any day of the week.

This won’t stop being an issue till we get a few elite spec release, but the only way thats gonna happen is years years away.

The main problem I have with this is people claim that you will missing out on the chance of getting rare/exotic gear? RIght? the chance of getting rare or exotic is the same as getting a pre in this game! Save 250 bags of anything and open them. Tell me how many rare/exotic you get out of them. I guess not many.

Anet need to move the cd to weapons and have the energy cost move to utilities and not put them on both, the double dipping of having cd and energy cost on everything is annoying and makes revy one of the worst classes to play.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that front. I barely ever see anyone running their base class, endless they are not level 80 or don’t own HoT. I main warrior and have recently switched to burnzerker to clear fractals. However, a lot of these new elites seem to be geared to support roles.

GW2 is super inconsistance and they set up lots of plot threads without any pay off. Are we gonna have to way another two years before we find out where rythlock is?

So with LS3.5 we finally learned who Lazarus really is. And as no one expected, it was Balthazar making an appearance out of nowhere. Now Anet might think they have outdone themselves with such a reveal, but they missed one major point when it comes to “plot twists”.
If you want to have a good plot twist in your story, you should leave crumbs beforehan, that hint to the twist, without making it obvious. After the twist the audience should be left with a feeling of “how did I not see that?”, because then they realize you basically gave away the answer before the twist even happened.
But instead Balthazar randomly appears without any hints to it in the previous chapters whatsoever. He as a villain, concealing himself as Lazarus, makes no sense at all. It feels like a cheap “shocker”.

To make it worse, he disappeared as quickly as he appeared. So if he’s really gone, that means his involvement really didn’t mean that much. As such, he wasn’t worth all the hype and build-up. Once again you have major build up to the climax of your story, but once you reach the climax you rush things incredibly. You, Anet, received this criticism before with HoT, and now you’re doing it again.

I agree this show just how utterly weak lw content is as a means to progress the story. Its only a shock if you give the people hits on to who it could be. The only hit we got was we know he wasnt lazarus. Great that didnt leave us much in the way of who he could be and if he really did die or get gone? what the kitten was the point then?

I just don’t understand how he had to pretend to be Lazarus he is a human god he could of just had other humans who worship him do his bidding he did not need to pretend to be lazarus to achieve this so really this is kinda lazy writing just like the rest of the story

Just when I was beginning to hope the story writing abilities of the living story tem might FINALLY be maturing at long last and produce a story that was coherent, and enjorable, Flashpoint launches. Leaving aside the frankly AWFUL map which makes TD look easy to navigate, The story is poorly exectuted, chews continuity and is as lazier than most of my School English essays.
To sum up my problem, this reveal, that has been built up to all this living world season wasn’t worth the wait. It was a human god all along? Ok, with NO shadowing what so ever that the Gods were even present in Tyria any more, or any reason to suspect he would have spontaneously gone mad and decided to power grab. I’m sure someone at anet is really kittening happy with themselves that the resolution of this seaon, and why we’re not going to be fighting Primordus and Jormag next expansion is not only figuratively a deus ex machina, BUT IS LITERALLY, A BLOODY GOD, IN A BLOODY MACHINE!
Oh wonderful not only are the writing staff on this episode using the biggest crutch in writing as used by all writers lacking any/all of the following: imagination, motivation, time or competence. They have to rub our noses in it by making their deus ex machina, A DEUS EX MACHINA!
This is like those crappy movies where they try and make you laugh by being self aware that they suck.
The same logic I apply there can be applied here. Being aware you’re writing badly, does not suddenly make you a Booker Prize winner. But it does make you a fine example of of the Dunning-Kruger effect. So congratulations whoever came up with this plot twist, you’re not quite ENTIRELY clueless, because you KNOW you sucked.
Quite frankly, I refuse to have anything more to do with this episode, and by extension its map. I’ll be waiting the final episode to see if someone managed to figure out which one of the writer’s brains fell out and replace them.

It isnt so much of that that bothers me the ending left me confused in just wtf is going on he was in the machine doing what? and tami was like "ink’ made me feel like anet didnt even know what balt was even doing or trying to achieve was he trying to absorb prime’s magic? cuz tami said it would just primordus and jormag energy against each other. At what point did she say it would allow you to absorb magic? which he wasn’t able to do cuz we stop the mechine. A lot of people didn’t like how the legendary armor actually looks – trenchcoats among them – so I thought to myself ‘why not make a set of armor based on your profession?’

-The skins themselves could be an added collection unlocked after you complete a full set of legendary armor of a particular type (EG heavy, medium or light) which would require delving into what made you truly a master of your profession

I even thought of a skin type that might work.

Engineer legendary armor:

Out of combat: Outside of combat the armor looks more like a sci-fi spandex jumpsuit with small humble plates of electronic armor covering the basic areas of ones body, sans the head which would have a neat set of Deus Ex style sunglasses or a scouter type headwear

In combat: in a flash of smoke, electricity and holographic projection the engineers body is now covered in a sci-fi style Power Armor, evoking images of Master Chief, Samus Aran or even Iron Man including a visor with an effect of glowing in the dark and having a tiny animated hud visible or a target reticule, with small (dyeable) lights softly pulsing on the engineers armor throughout. (I imagine the GW2 development team could really go nuts and have fun with this now that they have the basic concept down.) Once combat was finished another flash of charged plasma and the engineer is once more in less menacing choice of wear.

With the armor i had the idea of the engineer advancing their skills to the point that they have exceeded the current limitations of technology – even by asuran standards – and applied their craft to creating a truly unique set of armor that shows their technological genius. The armor can even work well if separated into chunks as it would likely look like how Tony Stark sometimes has just part of his suit on.

This is, of course, just an idea I had. Do you have an idea of where to go with legendary armors? How would you design a legendary armor? Would you go with professions, elite specializations, something truly different?

It took them forever to come put with legendary armor back when they first talked about it you want them to make 19999999 version of it ha welll wish for the moon cuz that would probalby happen long before your idea ever did

I am sharing this here because I believe WP did an awesome job, no, grande job in wording the thoughts many of us had. A few more videos are incoming, I’ll update this list. I personally agree with the majority of what he’s said so far, possibly we’re optimistic gamers. But there are less optimistic people out there and their judgements are equally valid. Please, discuss as you see fit, but keep it civil.

Now before I get into this disclaimer. I really like WP channel his stream. His video are one of the reason I still even consider playing gw, however with that said I have to say his review felt like he was really trying to choose his words wisely. What I mean by that is he sounded like he didn’t want to sound to negative or to positive about any of the content. The only real issue I had with heart of thorns was its glaring horrible story. The revenant class and the fact that I paid 50 dollars for a hand full of content that was clearly rushed. Now I do know this is just WP opinion and should be considered as such.

WvWvW is open world pvp isn’kitten I’m not wrong right? if you go in there you should know that any enemy player can/will/are gonna kill you right? then why the kitten are we told “don’t mess with duelers or people doing gvg” they got pvp arenas and kittening guild halls for that kitten tired of of seeing people talk about dont killed these people! Its open world pvp for kitten sake! If you go into it expect to be kittening murdered end of god kitten story.

I did this fight, first time, on a full zerk rev. with power/prec food, and shiro/glint.

Pretty much an l2p issue.
The aoes are easily avoided while running around grabbing the bloodstone shards – they do ~20% break bar when thrown.

Nastiest part is the jade construct adds I found. I had to clear those out asap.

Since Braham is still in PMS-mode and decided to gather some Norns under the name of Destiny’s edge to kill Jormag bla bla bla….

-Rox of course following him around, though I couldn’t care about her anyway since who cares about Rox anyway lol.
-Zojja is still recovering from her injuries.
-Eir is dead (biggest mistake for killing our lovely Eir…!!!!! Rip Eir,)
-Logan wont join us since he might become Pact Marshal and decide to do something on his own.
-Canach is finally free from Anise and also abandon our invitation to our little Guild and want to aswell as Logan, do something on his own.
-Marjory basically gave us the middle finger when we asked her if she wanted to join.
-Kasmeer is still MIA and wont probably join us neither since she’ll stick with Marjory most likely.

-Taimi So back to the annoying little Asura who never can shut up with her random bs, god I hate Taimi so much, I really do hope she'll get infected with some Dragon virus and we have to kill her off... urghhhhh, sorry Taimi-lovers but she is SOO kittening kitten annoying. has joined our Guild.
-Caithe joined our Guild aswell( If I am correct, last time we saw her we asked her aswell in the Golden City and she agreed to join ).
-Rytlock has also joined(?) Still unsure with his reply when the ‘Commander’ asked him to join..

I agree with some of the things you said, I for one hate eir most of the character in desinty edge didnt even have much presents through your own ps unless you did the dungeon story lines( haha) so her death didnt do kitten for me. Tami is like the best guild mate you got, However you are right so far we got Tami, commander and rytlock in our guild and that is about it.
THe other thing i hate is how the commander is feeling bad for what half this kitten is not our fault Braham being upset about his mommy dies umm first off she was with Leaf head when he fired cannon randomly into a jungle that and got killed by another leaf head wtf do I got to be sorry about how about you take it up with the salad that killed her oh thats right we already murdered her and Marjory giving us the middle finger would of been the end of her being in my mother kittening guild you are consider the commander only to have you leadership challenged when you tell you guildmates what to do. Ok, this is gonna sound like a rant and I apologize for that in advance, however I got to address this somewhere. I am happy that we finally got an end to a plot threat that has been hanging there from the very beginning of gw2, but the story and story line leading to this end is all over the place. What I mean to say half of it was told through the human personal story, some through the whisper story line and some of it was told through a dungeon storyline, some of it was told through raid and now some its being finished in lw season 3. I for one didn’t even remember Caudecus’s daughter being in the story or that she even knew tybalt and I was on a character that did the human to whisper storyline. What I mean is the story is so disjointed I don’t even remember half of it.

As we all know the patch that was scheduled for today was delayed due to weather/tech issues. Clearly this is out of Arena Net’s hands as they claim they tried their best to get the patch out today and were unable. Honestly this is fine and I think everyone can agree with that.

The problem that I have with all of this is they stated the storms and the problems took place on Monday (the day before the patch) If they knew it was going to be a problem then, why still advertise for Tuesday? I imagine the simple answer to this was they believed they’d still get it out on time. Come Tuesday and we hear about the delay around the time people were expecting the patch. This sucks because many players (specifically raiders) scheduled their entire day around progressing on Tuesday. Many made sacrifices to make sure they could be there and support their team for whatever goal they planned on accomplishing. (Many people on my team decided to use their sick days or wake up very early in preparation for this, and after talking to other teams many did the same)

Okay, so what?

I personally feel its a bit unfair to the players to have them waiting all day just to hear that they aren’t getting the patch. I would’ve been fine hearing Monday, or even early Tuesday that the patch would be delayed or to not expect it for a set amount of hours. Instead we were just told “as soon as possible” myself and many others waited in Gw2 doing nothing for an entire day because we were led on to believe the patch was on its way. The problem was there was no certainty nobody wanted to leave in fear that the patch would be there. (This matters a lot when you care about being on top of the raids or even those who were planning on jumping into the story ASAP to avoid spoilers) Arena net kept an entire community on the edge of their seats and didn’t deliver. All I’m asking for is better communication. If you can’t get the patch on time you can’t get the patch but don’t leave us questioning for well over half a day when said patch is coming and or if were even getting the patch that day.

~I don’t want this thread to create a bunch of salt, I just hope that Anet can learn from this nightmare many of us went through today and hopefully let us know ahead of time if there are going to be issues before many of us inconvenience our personal lives for a false promise. They’ve done well in the past for giving us patches on time and I hope nothing like this happens again.

I agree, everyone here is tell you bla bla bla well anet should of just come out early and said no patch today. I too am in the same boat as you. I waited all day cuz anet told us still happening, but finally around 7 pm when the new was no patch. I am not upset about the delay im upset about waiting based on being told it was still gonna go live.

It’s ok to lose yourself on the map and explore the world, not for rewards or completion, but to enrich your imagination and find the little details you hadn’t thought of before.

It’s ok to go to dungeons or fractals with builds and classes that are what you enjoy playing first, and “optimal” second.

It’s ok to take the time and help someone in your party who is having difficulty playing, rather than flaming him and leaving to find another party.

It’s ok to not want to unlock every single item and achievement in game but rather those you like the most only.

It’s ok to consider 1000 hours of gaming a gigantic amount of time, and be happy enough doing dailies and a dungeon here and there a day.

It’s ok to lose an event or dungeon you had worked on for over an hour, and instead be glad you spent a great time with your friends.

It’s ok to not aim for legendary or ascended gear and instead enjoy the amazing content that is provided for nearly everyone with merely exotic gear.

It’s ok to enjoy figuring things out by yourself rather than using guides only to maximise efficiency.

Add more if you can.

So I have been on hiatus since the previous balance patch in the game, due to a variety of reasons. These included irl things and having been playing quite a bit beforehand.
I was thinking of getting back into the game with this upcoming patch, but have nastily been reminded of how toxic some of the playerbase is. This is what helped drive me to my haitus to begin with, especially with raid meta bs only.

Anyway, that aside, why are people treating this delay with such hosility? Anet got hit by a snowstorm… be glad their servers didnt go down with it! Also, i can bet you that if you had a snow storm in your area, you would call in for a day off because it stopped you from getting to work! Just gove anet a break-these things happen, so put up with it, dont rant to them for not delivering on time due to unforeseen circumstances.

Keep up the good work, devs! And kudos to you for trying hard to deliver!

Well, I’m not sure of it in a game development sense, but we start collecting Unbound Magic, and before you know it, we’re taking a “just a few minutes I can quit at any time” attitude about it. That way seems to lead to some sort of bloodstone madness, right?

I think they should make a mix of both: fast paced with scaling difficulty like fractals, but with a deeper storyline like dungeons. If the maps and mobs were also procedurally generated, it would be just awesome.

Here is the issue, the fact that just nerfing one ability on a revy means should never be allow to raid is kittening kittened. So you are telling me the only classes that should ever be allow to raid are druid, Mesmer and warriors? WTF! THe devs said they didn’t want only particular classes choosen to raid. You should be able to go into a raid with several different classes and still be able to beat it. However, I blame the dev for not considering when they do changes how all the games times will be effected. I also blame the community. You mean to tell me if you dont run twin mesmer twin warrior and twin druid then there is no way you will be able to raid? WTF!

I want to start a raid party to attempt to do raid with. I have only raided back in beta and been trying to get into a group to start doing them. So far A.) i have to already be a expert to even join the part. B.) they are not looking for the class that I am playing or C.) dont have the right gear.

So I want to start a raid party. If you ( like me) are new to raid and want to try them out then help me establish this raid party. Once we have ten people we can work out all the details. This is just a group of people who have been finding it hard to break into raids and want a level playing field seeing as like you I still new to raiding too. When you look at dragons watch there is Majory and Kasmeer who work as sort of fanservice for men, but for how many girls i know are in gw, there is no good looking guy for them..

So some accualy nice looking guy who wouldnt entirely dissapear from the story would be nice :v

Yes before I go into this topic I do relies that it is me just nitpicking, but I just got to get it out. On that note I do wanna also point out this is anet story.

The story of guild wars 2 seems like a mess. What do I mean you ask? Well Anet likes wasting time on plot treads they never seem interested in finishing. Here is my first example! My first character was a Slayvir and during my personal story you meet a Slayvir that was born from another Pale Tree. What was the point of making him from another pale tree? I will admit that I didn’t even think much of this till the Mordremoth ark. However, we shall forever be left wondering about this little bit of story that literally went no where.

. Another plot that I am pretty sure wont ever go anywhere is the locket? You know the only during season two of the Living World that is suppose to tell you the true heir to the human throne. Why did they even establish that there is such a locket?

and dont get me started on a particular blind charr with a flaming sword cough cough!

These are just some examples off the top of my head on how anet has waste time establishing plots that literally never going to finish. I would rather be told one good story with no choice then one with lot of choice that is a complete mess. Like I said I know it is a mmo and that this is just me nitpicking, but just feel like they be better off not wasting effort putting plots they never are gonna finish. What do you guys think?

So it turns out Rytlock was avoiding his orders from the Black Citadel because they wish to know what he was doing in the Mists and how he got his power. Since this is Rytlock, he has a reason for not telling Imperator Smodur what’s going on. My theory is that the origin of the magic is something that the Charr would not accept the existence of, nor accept that Rytlock got it.

Meaning the possibility of him meeting the equivalent of a god, which the Charr despise. Next episode we’ll most likely head over to where Rytlock is in the Black Citadel and find out the truth at the end, a truth which would most likely change what we know about things, possibly even the past of Tyria itself.

I don’t think it is just Rytlock being Rytlock. Remember he was suppose to cleanse the ghost, but never manage to do it? He went into the mist to retrieve the sword. Which might be the reason he even ended up with the sword. WE might get a All Rytlock episode about what he did in the mist.

So anyone else feel like their character’s mouth is cashing check their fist can’t cash? You basically tell Lazarus to step off or you will end him! The guy has absorbed enough magic to nuke a continent, making him almost as powerful as a God! I know we took down two elder dragons, but we didn’t personally do it. One we shot down with a plane and the other took a whole army and us going into his mind ( worst plot ever) To even kill. So we are basically telling something that could kill us in an instant to kitten off?

The dragons getting stronger is a result of the nature of the Dragon’s absorption of magical energy. As one and Now 2 are killed, the amount of energy available for the next dragon is greater and so He will be that much more powerful. I think, Primordus will now be more powerful than Zhaitan and Mordermoth combined. The pact meanwhile is now severely depleted and there has been no time to recover as the dragons come one-after-another.

A depleted pact will have to fight defensively this time and it won’t be an option to go on the offensive ( except perhaps as a final push) But all in all; This chapter of the story will feature a tyria using all of its strength just to hold Primordus at bay. I think We will not succeed in Killing Primordus this time but only in Fending him off.. perhaps holding him at bay indefinitely by stories end or injuring him badly enough that he is forced to withdraw and heal.

So since HoT came out, I thought these would be adressed when we got to leave the maguuma jungle, but I’ve not heard any of it yet:

- What happened to the nightmare court? They’re ‘leaderless’ now since Faolain used to be a nightmare courtier until she took an Eir-row to the knee

- What happened to the Zephyrites? After mordremoth awoke, a sylvari travelling with the group caused an accident that made them crash. Until this day they are still picking up the pieces and collecting their dead. Maybe in a future Current Event we can help them rebuild a base south of the Dry Top, there’s a thin-ish unused area we can use to make a small town map.

- Zojja (and Logan), I’m surprised that we havent visited them yet. At the end of HoT Zojja is left blind, and Logan comatose, yet we took the time to visit Eir’s remembrance, but not them?

Maybe are still more un-adressed gaps after HoT, discuss?

I can think of about a hundred story plots that anet either forgot, or had no idea where they were going to go with it anyways. ANyone remember the locket? or how about the identity of E? What about the second pale tree? See all anet does is set up useless plots that they will never ever finish.

So basically when everyone’s favorite villain scarlet (sarcasm) took some acid she had a
dream about the pale tree and saw Mordremoth which drove her crazy. Her whole plan was to wake up Mordremoth. Now here is what I don’t understand why did she do it? I just don’t see why she would waste her time waking him up. If you say it was mordremoth that was putting the idea in her head? If he was gonna wake up anyways why would he need her to do it for him? I mean Scarlet wasted all this time just to wake him up? Seems like a big kitten waste of time for something that is just gonna wake up anyways.

If you say she speed up his time line and all the dragon wake up at different times (which don’t see why that would be a big issue) why would him being awake earlier be an issue. At some point all the dragons are gonna be awake at the same time, So him being awake earlier just don’t seem like a great plot to me.

Now if you say she new waking him up was going to cause lots of damage and she hope that him being earlier would destablise the balance of power hoping the dragons kill everyone and them self off, I just don’t see that being the case.

So can anyone explain how Scarlet’s over all story ark waking up mordremoth was a relevant plot device? Sorry if this sounds wordy, the question sounds better in my head. I hope I explained it enough for someone to understand what I mean.

See I be just find if the Revy’s skills had one or the other, However that is not the case. The Revy’s weapon and utility skills have both energy cost to use them and a cd after using them. I mean what kinda kitten is that? At first I though the Revy played like the thief were the weapon skills cost initiative and the utility skills had cd, but no the Revy suffers from having an energy cost and when you use any of its skills a cd. Sure you can argue that Revy has the ability to swap from legend to legend and has access to more skills then the other classes, but so does the ele and they don’t have a energy cost and a cd to worry about.

Well you no longer have to “save up for legendary,” You can craft it. Collecting the materials and doing the achievements will keep you more than busy

Also Join a guild. playing with friends will keep you in the game.

They are already doing LW3 its in raids! Oh you dont wanna raid, or have the gear to raid? Well too kittening bad! Better start kittening preparing yoruself. Anet new goal is to only do raids! Don’t believe me? well been almost a year and the only kittening content you get was raids. Oh sure they fix bugs in updates but I am talking about updates.

Ok, I know this was suppose to be removed and if it has not been yet then I am sorry for posting this. However, being told by everyone it had. I contacted support for it and nada so here I go on here. It still showing I need the Poison to get past part 12. I quit the mission logged off log back on started it up and still says I need it. It wont even show me were the mission starts at till I get the mastery.
