Are all the players in the same location (same region/map)? The prompt to enter another player’s story doesn’t appear for players in a different map.
From what you said, someone else (your cousin) is the actual owner of this account and you both play on this account. First, it may be that person who did something, not you. Second, it’s the account holder who needs to contact support not you. Third, ANet doesn’t like people sharing accounts because of situations like this.
I did not mean me and my cousin shared accounts, MY actual account is banned and I can’t even log onto the forums to make my own post. This account “Natedeegreat.1390” belongs to my cousin, and he let me log on to make this post. So yeah.
Please read this post on the subject of posting from someone else’s account. There is a way for you to submit a post without accessing an account.

I have noticed this for a long time on my server. There is a “person” about every half hour or so spamming guild invites. It occurs all through day it seems no matter when I am on. The characters name is always the same and the message is always exactly the same. It seems to rotate starter maps. Also the message always has a white square before the text like some weird character. That probably has nothing to do with, just throwing it in there.
It isn’t a big deal to me overall I was just wondering if this was typical of an actual person doing this or if there are indeed bots that guild spam. It just seems odd because I play off and on at all hours of the day and night and it seems like I see it each time I’m on.
Interesting question. I suppose it could be a spam-bot. I’m going to get some advice about how best to report this.

Solo queue is definitely on the horizon. What everyone has been playing now will become ‘Team Arena’ (group queue), and we will additionally add a ‘Solo Arena’ (solo queue). The ratings will be split, and each will have their own leaderboard. We’re also planning on shipping a couple other long-standing requests with Solo Arena that many have been waiting for. A blog post will go into details about everything.
Rewards are high on our list. We’ve been coordinating with other teams, as it has a game-wide impact. They will certainly take some time to complete and you should expect to see Solo Arena much sooner.

I think AP’s advice is very sound. If you think the account was accessed, contact Support. If you don’t believe it was accessed, but that access was only attempted then change your password (something complex, something unique) and see if these attempts stop.

Hey guys,
as there are already several threads about this topic we would kindly ask you to continue your discussion in the following thread: “WvW Achievements are unrealistic”. Therefore we decided to close this thread.
Thanks for your feedback and understanding.
Changes to turn speed sound great, but we are unable to do them with the system as currently set up. That’s why you won’t see any changes of that sort for the foreseeable future.
Then I highly recommend reworking that system to be extensible. Fixing inextensible systems earlier in development can save a lot of effort and prevent bugs down the line.
Plus, +100% turn speed would be a worthwhile trait on catapults, mortars, and trebuchets.
I agree on all counts, but I hope you’ll concede we are no longer early in development. Making those changes nigh impossible to make at this juncture. If you happen to have a time machine handy…
What do I do when I no longer need my post in the forum??
Here’s a tip: If you post on the forums and then get an answer, please don’t delete your post! You can help other players by instead responding to the thread as an update:
- Thanks, Fred, that answered my question.
- Mary, your suggestion that I empty my mailbox helped and I got my item!
- This issue was resolved by the Support Team and I’m now back in the game.
- I discovered that my ISP was having issues, and I was not experiencing a technical support issue after all.
- I submitted the requested Game Advisor report, and the TS Team told me [insert what you learned here]
Each of those responses — which should take just seconds — can help a dozen other players! So please don’t leave us with answers without questions, but instead leave the question and post an update.
Yours for better, sounder, more helpful forums — for the greater good!

I’d like to think I’ve shown that when I have a timeframe I can talk about, I do so, but there are many, many things that don’t clear up until closer to being ready to release. Rather than get all your hopes up with phrases like “We appreciate your concern and we’ll have a solution soon!” I try and be a little more realistic. In this case, achievements in WvW do not match the achievements in the rest of the game in terms of the amount of effort required to achieve them or the reward for that effort. But it’s not as easy as just saying “Let there be new achievements” We are going to have to do some complicated things to let people keep what they have already done in addition to adding new achievements. So, I’d love to be more informative in terms of date, but I don’t know either, so I can’t.
We’re going to take a solid look at those reports and we will take action if we can find a pattern of abusive false reports. That’s not to say we never make a mistaken, so if someone is blocked in error, we invite them to contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page so an agent can take another look at the whole report/suspend situation.

I disagree that we’re “ultra strict” but we are keenly aware that we serve players from around the world: different languages, cultures, genders, ages, and degrees of sensitivity to name issues. What you need to know is that if a name is allowed (not blocked at creation) in the game it cannot be blocked by a player. So if someone uses “creative spelling” for a curse word, everyone is going to see it. And that is why we react: Not to be politically correct, but to ensure that our players are comfortable in the game.
The name your chose, for whatever reason, is going to be misunderstood by a large number of people as being “creative spelling” for an offensive word. I personally can’t see how someone would use the “f” sound to try to emulate the letter “p” but maybe I’m just too literal. The instant I saw the name (in my review) I thought “That’s not going to do.” As did the agent who reviewed. As did my team.
The name must be changed, but because this was your first name issue, you were unblocked less than five minutes after the name was reviewed, and you are free to continue to play any time.
Thank you for understanding.

Reviewing today. I will reopen the thread when I have more to post about this.
But please note: Your girlfriend should never allow anyone to access her account, for any reason. I do understand you wanted to make your case, and again, we will review this because it has been three days now. But accessing someone else’s account is disallowed, and risky, and since you made it clear you were doing that, I need to make it clear that that is the wrong thing to do.
What’s the alternate, when you want to post? Have your girlfriend post for you! Many friends, guild members , family members, and significant others do this, and it works just fine. Simply have her post something like this: "Here is a message from (name): {message} }
Please everyone, keep this in mind for the future. I’ve been doing this since 2004, and I’ve seen too many cases of shared access that resulted in a bad outcome (account dispute, theft, etc.) so no matter how much y’all trust one another, keep that password private!

There is a per map cap. It is higher than 20.

I’ve said it before, and I will repeat it here. We are aware of the problems with the WvW achievements and will be doing more to address them in the near future. Currently it is more complicated to solve the problems than I would like, which means we need to have a fully comprehensive solution before doing anything.

Hey Jadenighingale,
If you’re still getting the Error 11 I’d like to encourage you to open up a support ticket if you haven’t already. These types of issues are handled by our log in team so I don’t really have the ability to look into it. I can tell you a common error I’ve come across is someone trying to log in with their display name instead of the email associated with their account. So if you’re trying to log in with jadenightingale.9327 I would suggest switching to your email. Otherwise, opening a ticket would be your best bet.
Hey Tryst,
I’ve forwarded this issue to our hardware testing lab to see if they can reproduce the issue, hopefully they can help shed some light on what is going on exactly. As soon as I have any kind of an update on it I’ll update this thread and let you guys know what we’ve found. Are you using any of the Razer software with your mouse? and have you experienced this issue with any other mice?
Hi Superfortress – While this is an incredibly old thread, it looks like your issue is much the same. Generally this happens when your system either fails min specs or you’re missing video card drivers. Your case appears to be the latter:

Speak of the devil, and he shall appear
First off, I do realize that I kind of ninja’ed in a response in a post that had nothing to do with addressing skill delay. The reasoning behind that was simply that I wanted to make it clear of why I wasn’t spending much time on the issue that I was addressing there. I’d like to say that I pride myself in keeping things as transparent as possible with you guys.
That being said, I know that seems contradicting since I haven’t really said anything on the matter since. I’m doing my best to lurk in the shadows here in the forums more often and chime in where appropriate. Frankly, I just don’t always have something to update you guys on .
But! I do have a small update for you today.
Over the past several months (boy time can really fly by), we formed a small team (myself, with the help of a couple others at times) around addressing the issue of skill delay in large groups of players. It’s actually a part of our Skills and Combat team that are responsible for balancing and, in the near future, introducing new skills, traits and other combat improvements. When tackling such a large project, you don’t just dive in and start shooting from the hip. It takes a lot of research, data and planning to really start addressing the issue at hand. The past few months have mostly consisted of these things (referring to data gathering).
As of recently, really as of just a couple days ago, we’ve gotten to a point where we have the data we need to take the bull by the horns and get down to business. Meaning that I hope that the results start speaking for themselves in the coming months. Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean we haven’t already made several improvements, just sadly that they weren’t really noticeable from a players standpoint (but have made a significant difference).
It’s not just skill lag that we hope to start resolving in a more noticeable way, and even eliminating one day, but getting PvE culling disabled game-wide. These two projects are beasts that really go hand-in-hand, which is why we’re working on them simultaneously.
Now this brings me to another seemingly tight-lipped change; PvE culling. You may have noticed that we temporarily disabled it in Frostgorge Sound for a short duration. That was us, lurking in the shadows, gathering extremely vital data. We’re making great strides in getting that removed, and hoping that happens really soon.
That’s all I have for today, but hope to have some great news in the near future. Ideally moving forward I won’t need to update you all, as the results should start speaking for themselves.
<3 Bill
Update:
We will not be able to open registration this week. We encountered some technical difficulties, and feel that it is now too late to open them as players in Europe will have likely gone to bed.
With that said, we will be posting on Monday with all of the information you have been waiting for, along with instructions on how to register.
Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience!
My Norn would definitely be the one running around in pink and purple.
We’re closing out this thread again, due to the amount of .gif spam. Also, we’ve deactivated attachments on the WvW forum until Monday. We’d like to remind everyone we do not mind seeing .gifs, but we’re spending a lot of time moderating images which are inappropriate or used to be disruptive and spammy.
We understand that, yes, this is WvW and we do tolerate a fair amount of competitive banter. However, the Forum Rules should be followed when doing so, especially when regarding mocking other players, insulting them, or simply spamming a thread with .gifs.
It is true that we cannot offer to split accounts, or to move characters between accounts. The character data is so intertwined with the game code that separating the characters and moving them is simply impossible. (And if it was possible, then yep, the HoM would only tie to one account, not three.)
Quite honestly, I do not think this is something that we will be able to offer in the future, although devs have surprised me in the past and what we thought was un-doable becomes possible. But in the short term, however, as much as we would like to help with this — particularly because you’ve been such an amazingly supportive player! — we just can’t do it.

So, we are looking into what we can do to deal with these sorts of problems, but they are very tricky to deal with. The threshold I always have in mind is that any change we make has damage legitimate play less than whatever we are trying to address does. That being said I think we have some interesting ideas for the future, but they are not guaranteed to make it out of testing, because they have to work. I agree that this behavior is frustrating, and we will do as much as we can to try and put a stop to it.
Is this kind of joke or what ? Log in to the game and runs up error with suspend ? from verbal abuse (I think that you recognize my right) it changed to “unacceptable name in violation of the user agreement and rules” ? What name? “Mindfaker”? consisting of words “mind” and “fake” ? I do not get this farce … arena net scores.
I agree with you. That name is not offensive. I think that an agent may have reviewed a report, or have spotted it in the game, and at a glance thought it was “creative spelling” for another word that starts with “F.” And I feel sure that is not what you intended.
Did you submit a ticket? If so I’ll flag that for an agent. If not, I’ll get this name uncensored.
Apologies for the mistake!

I recently tried to change my password (Lots of random access request emails getting sent to me)
When I tried to change it, it would not let me. I entered the correct current password, and a new password that was longer than 8 characters. When I click the change button, the page is just refreshed with the Re-enter password field having a red glow. I am sure I’m entering the same password into both fields.
Hmmm. I’m not sure why that would happen, but know it could be caused by a variety of things, like using disallowed characters, not using a uppercase letter, etc. But normally, you’d get a “help note” to tell you what to adjust.
I’d suggest you try again a couple of times, but given you’ve gotten those authentication emails, I’d then recommend that you contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist you.

1. A shock to the supply curve is a shift in the supply curve. (Making the same point here) Movement along the supply curve, is when you decrease the price of the product.
2) You trying to touch upon “Demand Curve Elasticity.” Using graphing terminology, it depends on the slope of the demand curve.
3) That Sine graph is interesting, but it lacks a demand curve. Also, dues to axis labelling, it is very confusing to read.
4) The statement is true. People trying to outbid is because price is going down, and it unlocks people from going to totally unaffordable to reasonably affordable. Think it this way, I lower Ferrari price to 40k and increase production, you will see a lot more demand. The reason is the price elasticity of the demand.
One more time:
1. “In economics, a shock is an unexpected or unpredictable event that affects an economy” This would be neither. Just because two terms are similar doesn’t mean they can be used interchangeably.
2. I’m not trying to touch on anything in particular, I’m informing you about how life works.
3. It’s not a sine curve, nor is it a supply curve, nor is it lacking a demand curve. It’s a representation of the shape of changing price over time or quantity.
4. You have a good grasp of elasticity, but I’m referring to a more complicated concept here, one that’s specifically visible in virtual economies, but present in other economies as well, depending on the state of the market.
Ensign – this is to your question as well.
We’ve seen before that at certain points in certain markets, changes to the supply side of the equation has resulted in an effect that is opposite of what was expected. We noticed that shifting the supply side equation caused the demand side of the market to shift even further. As people see the changes in the game many of them decide to enter the market. The changes to the in game content, cause a change in individual preferences. The phenomena falls off pretty quickly as you push harder on the supply side, but small changes so far have resulted in increased demand due to changing preferences. That’s why if we were to increase the input by 10 prices would drop, but if we were to increase it only slightly, prices would most likely go up.

Hey AdelphiA.9287,
We’ll publish soon a sticky in this subforum to better explain the rules, but here’s basically the answer to your question in two parts:
- You can have a thread in the API Development subforum but it has to be a technical discussion between API application developers exclusively (and posts from non-developers should be reported so that we can enforce this rule so that we can keep this subforum focused on API Development)
- You can create a thread in the Fan-generated Content subforum to have a more general discussion and feedback gathering (including bug reports) with the users of your API application; the forum’s Code of conduct and specific subforum guidelines apply
Let us know if you have questions or comments.
Thanks for supporting the GW2 API!
Greetings all,
We’ve decided to lock this thread due to the amount of .gif spamming and disrespectful comments towards other players.
Please not that spamming .gifs is not appropriate for our forum.
Since this keeps occurring, we’ve decided that if it continues, we will remove the ability to post images/attachments to this particular forum.
Please be mindful of our Forum Code of Conduct. We do understand that there will be a lot of debate and teasing in this particular forum, and we do not want to stop it as long as the posts are not violating the Code of Conduct/Forum Rules. If you have any questions, please email the Community Team at forums@arena.net
My friend told me that this once happened to him, and it worked the next day, i hope he is right, guess i will have to wait, Thanks for your time

Hello!
What is happening is you are accidentally clicking the target likely due to the slowcast/fastcast mechanic of ground target based skills.
Turning off “Right-Click and Double-Click to Attack/Interact” in the Combat/Movement options will fix this.

Hi Helix!
Looking at the crash report you’ve provided I’d advise with a Disk Check:
1. Open Computer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Computer.
2. Right-click the hard disk drive that you want to check, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Tools tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check Now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
4. To check for both file errors and physical errors, select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
5. Click Start.
Depending upon the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. For best results, don’t use your computer for any other tasks while it’s checking for errors.

Offensive language is offensive language. It does not need to be directed at another player for it to be actioned. (And in fact, it appears your comment was directed at another player, coupling offensive language with potential harassment.)
You breached the rules and you were suspended. Serve your time, use better judgment in the future, and all will be well.
Incidentally, no player member of this forum can help you with an appeal, so posting this sort of thread is pointless. For those who have reason to appeal (which doesn not seem the case here) only a ticket to support will result in a review of the situation.

Hi Wonderjava!
Let’s start with system specs. What are you working with?
Hey Tryst,
I’m curious, when you use both mouse buttons to move does nothing at all happen? Or are you getting camera movement as if only one of the buttons is being pressed?
I know it may seem like an obvious step but sometimes it’s best to start simply – have you tried repairing the client yet? If not, I’d recommend deleting the local.dat file and following that with the repair.
If you have any questions about doing this let me know!
