we are not working on the requested feature. We know what you actually want and will decide for you what is important and what is not…Don’t take me too serious, but that’s the feeling I get while reading red posts in the forum ;-)
I’m sure it can feel like that sometimes, and that’s no fun. You should believe us that we really do listen to player feedback. If we aren’t prioritizing a feature, its because there simply isn’t enough demand, or there is some, but we’re really confident it would not help the game as much as another feature.
We are in the process of working out how/if we can split the NA and EU resets. For now, this change is the way going forward. It’s my hope we will have an update about this soon as I’ve made it a priority.

Sometimes, as devs, we play bad builds on purpose as we look at ways to improve them.
It’s important we play all classes, even less popular specs on less popular classes.
Also, he’s running that build because of yolo, obvs.

Ranger toolbox isn’t just utilities, folks, it’s your 1-5. And between LR and QZ, there’s a TON of utility power in just those two alone, leaving a third open for whatever you feel you may need in the fight and to better define your play style. Shortbow is full of utility and also does really good sustained DPS, so I stand by my statement of rangers having an expansive tool box.
As for Ranger DPS not matching thief burst… yeah, that’s pretty obvious – I don’t think I’m rocking some boat by saying that. I accept that trade-off of lacking burst potential for having a better toolbox of things I can do to survive while outputting consistent DPS. I can see the longbow as maybe being a bit spiky, but nowhere near what a D/D can do. Maybe a trap ranger can get a bit bursty if they hit all 3 traps at once on a glass cannon, but Ranger to me isn’t a burst class – it’s a sustain and survive class.
You can’t really avoid a ranger’s sustained damage, but you can mitigate nearly all of a thief’s burst with really fast reaction and smart play.

I once got my jaguar to hit a warrior using a rifle for a super awesome crit around 12k on a single attack when all roided up from signet and shout, and getting a lucky crit. There’s potential, but it involves luck I can’t depend on, whereas a D/D thief can depend on his skill.

I’ve tried many many times to buy gems for the awesome new stuff that’s coming out lately, but i keep getting the failed message. I’ve tried with both my personal card as well as a pre-paid debit card i had recently gotten as a gift and both have the same outcome. Please help, i did also submit a ticket in game.

I made a ticket few hours ago, it shouldn’t be that hard to resolve, but i wonder how much it takes for someone to answer. Should i still expect it for today?…
Most issues are resolved in under 24 hours. I don’t know your exact issue, and some take a bit longer to settle, but I’m sure you’ll be helped soon, if you have not already been assisted.
The simple answer to this sort of thing: Do not click a link that you believe may pose a security risk. In this example, simply access your account through the account page, which is https://account.guildwars2.com/account. Log in, and secure your account.
Alternately, type the URL into your browser instead of clicking a risky link. Where clicking a link can take you someplace other than where you intended, if you type the URL, you control where you’re heading, right?
Exactly. I haven’t clicked it yet, because it’s probably just a terrible phishing email, but I am not worried about my account security, either. I have a strong password and I am using the authenticator, though I could change my password just in case.
Sounds as if you taken good steps with your personal security, which is great. I always think a password change can’t hurt, and might help.

I seriously haven’t even gotten to play yet. Yes, my account was hacked, so it’s possible that the gold spammer who hacked the account used an exploit. HOWEVER, I’ve consulted support about the hack, and I should NOT be held responsible for YOUR COMPANY’s security flaws.
I would greatly appreciate if you would review my ticket. I do not want to spend three more days waiting to use the product I payed for ages ago.

Wow, that’s a lot of stuff going on! You can be sure that the team will give your ticket careful attention. If someone misused your account, that will be clear in the game logs, so hold tight and this’ll get sorted soon. (And I hope your luck is considerably better in the future!)
We closed a serious but not-widespread exploit, and banned those accounts that performed it and those that received or stored the wealth they generated.
While performing the bans, we made a mistake and additionally banned some unrelated accounts. We identified the mistake and unbanned those accounts.
For those still banned, if you wish to appeal, you may submit a support ticket and the team will examine your case.

Off got same problem again, rebooted PC changes screen resolution and gfx… what does this in game browser need ? am i the only one having this problem ?

There is an Orrian Syllabary, actually. Sadly, it was rather challenging to use and to QA test, so we shelved it – but yes there are at least a couple samples in the game. I’m going to inquire about whether I can talk about it more, since I think it unlikely that we’ll ever actually use it for anything outside of sating your curiosity. :-)
So, to answer 1, there’s certainly cases where this may be an oversight, or a bug, but there’s also cases where we deliberately give NPC’s knowledge of the player – the presumption being that you’re a hero and carry a reputation with you. It’s true that this might seem odd if you have a sylvari sapling barely out of the Grove, but to cover every possible contingency in NPC conversations would have taken a tremendous amount of time so this can sometimes just be a conceit we’ve used to give the narrative a bit more of a personal connection.
For 2 – the “spirit heads” are common on all the lodges. But, you’re right that there is a significant difference here for the norn in how they chose to depict the shrines, because the spirit of Owl was not just lost, it was devoured by Jormag. Since absolutely nothing of Owl remains, the norn chose to convey that by sculpting Owl’s memorial from wood.
Usually when this happens someone has typo’d the intended password, but that’s not always the case. I suggest you contact Support and the team will help you. You can read through the Knowledge Base on that link, and you can submit a ticket via the “Ask a Question” tab on that page.

My character experienced a rollback while in WvW last night. It was actually to my (very slight) advantage, so I didn’t bother to report it. I’ll list the details below in case the rollback issue is more widespread and perhaps impacting your case here; if there was a rollback for your character, too, it might explain why AN seems to be a little confused about what’s going on. A rollback would imply their own DB is missing information.
At roughly 03:15 PST, my thief was punted from the green BL while mapping “login server connection lost, etc etc”. Attempted to log back to that same BL were met with the same error. However, I could log into all other WvW zones as well as LA. I tried full exit and relog. Same result. All zones but green BL were fine. Rougly 15m later, I tried the green BL again and was able to enter.
Checking the map showed two POI and one skillpoint that I had obtained were now shown on the map as unvisited. I checked my character’s skill point total and it was fine; ie. the character had not lost a skill point. The character had all it’s skill-points (and I assume XP) and and only lost data on where it got that skill point.
I ran back, suspecting that when I got close, the map would adjust itself, but I was able to obtain the same skill point and the XP for both POIs a second time. I don’t know about items. If the character lost any, it was only v.minor junk.
Hope this helps out on resolving the problem.

I’m sorry about that response. The agents do read the tickets, but it’s possible to make an error based on the subject line and assumption. If you can give me the 12-digit ticket number, we can use that less-than-sterling response as an opportunity for training.

So this morning around 10am EST I bought a Shiver Sky dye for about 9g 50s. The TP took my money, but there was nothing in my pickup tab. I look in “items I’m buying” and it showed that I had a buy order for 1 copper for the dye. Sooo, it took my money that I placed for a buy now, and instead of giving the dye it just sticks a bogus buy order in there.
I file a support claim (Incident:130415-001315) and all they say they could do is restore my account to days ago, losing lots of other progress I’ve made. I don’t farm much, so 10g is a lot for me in-game. How can this be normal support for a currency that can be easily equated to real money? This doesn’t make any sense.
Normally when something like this happens on the TP, it fixes itself within 30 minutes or so… but it has been 7 hours now and nothing.
I’m sorry that this happened. But can you tell me if you did the whole “Empty your mailbox of all mails and see if the items drops down into the box” thing? About 80% of the time, we find that the reason the item did not arrive is because the mailbox is full!
Can you tell me if you’ve tried that? That’s the first thing I’d like to try in troubleshooting this issue.

In general, game logs are both reliable and comprehensive. When an agent says they have not been able to confirm the details that were provided by a customer, you can be sure that they have tried to do that. If someone says “I had XX item and it’s gone” the team looks at it from various angles: Were they hacked? Did they sell it? Did they destroy it? When they cannot see any of that happening, they answer candidly to that effect.
Our first objective is to keep every legitimate player happy and well-served. So while I have not yet been able to review your particular ticket, in general, the response comes after an extensive effort to help, and is not a means to brush things under the carpet.

If a game ends in a tie, then it looks at the total player scores for the teams.
So in the above example, the red team had a higher player score total than the blue team, so red won.

We are looking into ways to make this maneuver consistent and not hardware dependent. I love the idea of having something that is like a wall-jump, in that there is a tier of players who master it and do better as a result. But ultimately, if we can’t ensure that we’re not excluding anyone based on hardware or connections speed then I won’t be making any gaps that require dodge-jump.
You should put ALL SPvP matters as top priority, because if you want GW2 to have a feature, you must do it. Otherwise it will die very soon. Everyone is saying that, because it is sooooo obvious.
I do not doubt you’re working, but you are working slow with wrong priorities. Wake up.
Working on every PvP feature we want concurrently is obviously not feasible. Everything must have a different priority. Dueling is a feature that could happen anywhere in the game, and could be picked up by a team other than the sPvP team. As far as our team’s priorities go, dueling is certainly not above custom arenas, spectators, shout casting, split queues, etc. I know everyone may want a specific feature first like dueling, and it sucks we can’t please everybody at once, but that’s the priority we’re working with.

You’ve made two false assumptions, fix them both and you have your answer.
You’ve all brought up great reasons why a race-change item is very appealing to you, and how you, personally, could see it happening. Others have brought up great reasons as to why it is not simplistic or easy for us to do this.
There are a lot of far-reaching consequences of allowing one character to play through every race’s personal story or equip any cultural armor/weapons. For now, we feel that it would take away from the experience of Guild Wars 2 for the majority of players.

I respect you as a dev because I know you’ve personally handled some important quickfixes (really quickly too) but your solution is just silly.
Your game is dying right now, you have to do something right now.
We have been working on things However, we’re nearing the end of a development cycle, so there is literally nothing more I can do right now to help with the dueling “problem” for this patch. When custom arenas are out, you’ll have a much easier time finding the kind of server you like to play on.

Honestly I don’t understand why it cant be done in one patch. Plenty of time to get it done, the issue has been their since release so plenty of time to have known about it. If things go wrong and it makes an aspect op hot fix it. Really no reason that it should take more than one patch.
And when can we expect this patch and the details?
Mainly because there are other classes who also need balance, and these things need to be planned, built, tested, and analyzed. It’s not just a large workload, but also in a step-by-step process that has game-wide consequences that must be considered during all phases of development. Mix that with all the other classes and their changes, and it’s a pretty big task that has to be ready for the next patch.

While I wish we could make pets super awesome ASAP, this patch will be a good step in the right direction. Will it solve all the problems? No, but it’s going to put rangers and their pets in a much better place.
I realize you all may have heard this song and dance before, and it’s okay to be doubtful about the upcoming patch – folks have been burned before, and its just going to take experiencing the changes and playing them to soften that. As a ranger player I am excited about the changes, and I hope once you all get a chance to play what the balance team has worked on, you’ll be happier too

Time spent by designers posting on the forums means less time they have to spend on working on the game, and this work includes balancing all the professions. The designers all read the forums and the Community Team provides them with feedback on a daily basis, but they do not always have the time to post.

With custom arenas, the play-now functionality will be revamped to better place you in servers.
It is true that custom arenas will “replace” hot-join, but they can fill the same role. If someone wants their server to be setup exactly like our current hot-join servers, that’s cool!
We are looking into what it will take to split the times out on a per region basis and we’ll do everything we can to make that the case as soon as possible. In the meantime, this change will make things better for European players, who have been dealing with a very inconvenient time since launch.
