Braham’s background is fleshed out in more detail in this story, in which it’s revealed exactly why Braham and Eir are not close: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/brahams-story/
Correct. During the mass battles, or cases where there it’s easy to farm the early part of the story, then relog to do it again, some of the creatures are worth reduced XP/loot to discourage farming.
We are not going to remove the score. What we are going to try and do is find a way to make the score relevant throughout a match, but it is not an easy solution.

We would really like to bring back the play that orbs provided to WvW. That being said the initial version of orbs was like Swiss cheese.
What you mean hard?
No! Full of holes!
We really want to bring back the orbs in some form or another, but it is a complicated thing and so there is no timeline, nor are there specifics as to what form they would take when they return. We have top people working on it! But I can’t give you anything more than that, as there is nothing more to give.
We’re working on a Leaderboard F.A.Q. that might answer some questions/concerns here. Keep an eye out!
Thanks for the feedback
Does the FAQ stop people from dodging a loss of rank by alt + f4’ing out of the match before they lose?
They still take a loss, as well as a rating hit.
PvP Leaderboards F.A.Q.
Q: Do leaderboard names follow the same naming rules as the normal game?
A: Yes they do. If a name on the leaderboards is deemed to be inappropriate, your account will be removed from the leaderboards until that character has been renamed. Once renamed, you must then play at least 1 game to re-appear on the leaderboards.
Q: How is rank determined? Is it by wins? Win %?
A: Rating is used. This rating takes into account your rating, your opponent’s rating, and then adjusts your post-game rating accordingly. If you win against a very low ranked opponent, and you are a highly ranked opponent, you will gain fewer points than if you defeated someone above you in rating. It is possible for a player to have a higher rating even if they haven’t played as many games as another player – # of games does not guarantee a high rating.
Q: The boards have my ranger listed, but I played my warrior more, why isn’t it ranking me by my warrior?
A: The rankings are account based, not character based. We use your most recently logged character as your current leader board name.
Q: How often do the sPvP leaderboards update?
A: Currently, once an hour.
Q: Are the leaderboards character based or account based?
A: They are account based. The most recent character played is shown on the leaderboard, even though the ranking is account based.
Q: Are player ratings shown anywhere?
A: We do not currently display player ratings.
Q: Do matches in the PvP Browser affect my Rating?
A: Your rating is not based on public play matches, only tournament/ranked matches.
Q: Does leaving a match early affect my rating?
A: If you leave a tourney/ranked match early, yes, your rating is impacted as if you sustained a loss. Once you finish another match, this “loss” is then factored back into your rating.
Q: My rank is jumping around a lot, what is going on?
A: A few things can be happening. The leaderboard will only show your new rank once it updates, which currently happens on the hour. The system is also trying to figure out how good you are and put you where you need to be for good matchups. The more you play, the more “confident” the system becomes about your placement. Early on, you may jump around more until the system has more info on your performance.
Dropping out of games early can also cause your rank to fluctuate a lot. When you drop a game early, you are assigned a loss. If you do this multiple times, then you are giving yourself loss after loss. Once you successfully finish a game, the system assigns all your old losses back to your rank. Once the leaderboard updates again, all these losses “catch up” to you, and you may see a big drop in your rank.
Also keep in mind that other players are also playing and gaining or losing rating. It may be that although you have moved up a few ranks several other player have moved past you in ratings. The net result may be a drop or increase in ranking.

When will Custom Arenas be out of Beta.
We have not set a date for the end of Beta. We want to get feedback from players on usability and shake out any bugs before opening it up to the general public.
We are conducting a small closed Beta. Who can participate?
Can I play on a Custom Arena even if I don’t own one?
Yes, you can play on a Custom Arena that is owned by another player provided that player has made their Arena open or have given you the password or they have extended you or your guild membership the Arena. If you really like playing on that Custom Arena consider supporting it by adding time to it with a time token.
Do I have to pay to play on a Custom Arena?
No, anyone can join a server that has no password or as long as you know the password. Only the Custom Arena owner has to pay a gem cost. Other players can also add time to a server to help contribute to the cost.
If I already have a Custom Arena Starter Kit, from when they were briefly available in the gem store, can I use it during the Custom Arena Beta period?
Yes, though keep in mind that we might not put additional time tokens up for sale until Custom Arenas exit Beta.
What can I configure on a Custom Arena?
Can I make my Custom Arena private?
You may password protect your Custom Arena to only allow those that know the password to enter. You may also set the reserved slots to the maximum which will only allow members to join the Custom Arenas
How much will Custom Arenas cost?
We have not revealed Custom Arena pricing at this time but there will be an initial set up fee that comes with a month of time. Additional time will be available via time tokens in the gem store.
How do I add time to a Custom Arena?
Time Tokens will be available from the gem store. Each time token adds one day of time to a Custom Arena. You can use time tokens to add time to your Custom Arena from the Custom Arena configuration interface. You can also use time tokens to add time to any Custom Arena that you are currently playing on.
I can add time to any Custom Arena?! Really?!
Yes, a Custom Arena is a kernel of community. What better way to show your appreciation for the community that you enjoy playing with the most than to support it by extending the time on it.
Can I own more than one Custom Arena?
Yes but keep in mind that time needs to be added to each Custom Arena individually.
When I run out of time is my Custom Arena deleted?
There is a grace period before the Custom Arena is deleted. During this time your Custom Arena will still exist but no one will be allowed to play on it. If time is not added before this period expires the Custom Arena will be deleted.
Why should I own a Custom Arena?

Please use the Flame and Frost sub-forum to discuss the Flame and Frost updates.
It’s been revealed that the last part is called ‘Retribution.’
I just played through this, and didn’t see any of the issues mentioned in this thread. What’s your current objective? None of the pirates have any regeneration, so unless you’re trying to get them stuck on a prop so they’re leashing, I don’t see how they’re “unkillable.”
I just received one of these and was going to post a thread asking about it. I am glad to see it is a scam that is being addressed.
{removing link in case this exposes any account info}
Hey there. I worry the image may show personal account info, and because we don’t need to see the image, I’ve redacted it. Hope you don’t mind!
Oh, and I’m glad this thread was helpful to you.
Let’s be clear: You’ve chosen bad names (not borderline, not gray area) in December, January, March, and now April. On each date, multiple offensive names were identified and censored. Going through that process takes an agent more time, but we do it as a kindness, to reduce suspensions and suspension durations. Unfortunately, this extra kindness has been repaid with… more offensive names.
You also were shown benevolence—twice—in the lifting of any suspension at all. You were required only to rename your offensively-named characters. In truth, this should not have happened a second time. Which means that you should have served three suspensions and your current suspension should have been longer.
To answer your question: Offering a means for someone to buy his/her way out of an administrative action isn’t in the cards.
Lastly: I am not saying this to be rude or pejorative, but if you continue down the path of choosing rude, offensive, and sexually suggestive names, you are at great risk of permanent account termination. As I have said in the past, you need to choose wisely.
Thanks for the positive comments.

Thanks for the feedback
Your feedback is important to us. Please stay on the forums and your concerns will be addressed by the next available dev. :P
I’m glad to be making WvW better and while I’m the face of the team to you guys, don’t forget all the hard work from everyone else on the team. I’d be doing nothing without them.

Sir Chompers is an invaluable asset to the Dev team – he keeps the office kitchen floors clean by scavenging things that get dropped, and chases off those pesky zebra who try to snack on our cereal bins.
I agree with the forum members who suggest you change your password. And getting the mobile authenticator—if that is an option for you—is also good advice.
I think you’ll find the FAQ about Account Restorations of interest to you: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Account-Restoration-Information/first#post1044591
Tracked it down and we are working on it. Thanks for the info.
I have merged two threads about this subject so that forum members could see the questions that others have had about the phishing email.
Again, do NOT click the link, and DO delete the email — it is bogus.

Logan and Anise are above you. There’s a stairway to your right that leads above to a chamber above the Ministerial sanctum, which is off-limits to outsiders.
Congratulations to you and yours!
can you do something about it resetting your maximum supply to 10 when you pick it up while holding 15?
We can look into it. I was unaware it did that. Any chance you can give me a more detailed explanation so I can have QA track that down?
Agreed. We need to figure out how we want to handle this, however, so I can’t say when we’ll do something about it or what the nature of the solution will be.
I don’t disagree with the premise, except for the very trenchant analysis of Syeria, which is that by doing that we discourage people from playing together and in fact create a high likelihood that people will be upset with other players for showing up and costing them WXP. At the core of our game is the premise that you should always be excited to see other players and while in WvW that can be positive excitement from your teammates or the rush you feel just before getting crushed by the other server, we don’t want to do anything to damage that. I think there is something we can do to solve the problem here without discouraging people from playing together, but we haven’t figured it out just yet.
While I think there is a good argument for this, we haven’t discussed it enough yet for me to say if we would or would not want to go this route. We are looking at the commander system generally, because we think it can be improved upon, and as part of that discussion we’ll almost certainly look into how you become a commander.
We are aware of this little strategy and have our top minds hammering out possible solutions.
The chest, as mentioned above, contains supply which doesn’t appear as anything if you have auto-loot on. We are aware of the confusion and we are doing something to make it less weird.
The cool thing about our team is that we’ve got ages ranging from over 40 to mid-twenties. And that collaboration gives us a huge range of memories and great classic game experiences to draw from. I know I’ve learned about a ton of old games I had never played and some I had forgotten about.
-Engineer Appreciation Day
But why do I feel like that’s probably gonna be near the bottom on the list of priorities.
Oh, I want to do that. That’s my favorite class!
Battletoads Level 3: Turbo Tunnel ;_;
Mwa-ha-ha-haaa!
Good thing you can’t drown in GW2 or SAB.
… yet.
So we’re never going to see “Super” versions of the weapons that didn’t receive skins? It’s going to be a whole new set next time?
I don’t know how you got that out of what I said. We will certainly (as much certainty as the continuation of SAB) be making at least one Super Skin for every weapon in the game. But in order to make each release somewhat special I’m pretty sure we are going to retire the current set after April. I don’t think we will have the same set of Super Skins at our next release. Does that make sense? Overall, we have a very solid plan for everything we’re doing INSIDE the SAB, but haven’t planned out everything surrounding it, the rewards, and all that kind of stuff yet. One thing we learned in this release is to make sure we schedule more time for planning and building the reward side of things.
Josh, could you clarify this a bit more?
Not really. I’m not at work this week, and I didn’t make the plans for rewards and how and when they are distributed. I’m going off a memory of a conversation we had during the last week of production which was very hectic. Someone knows all the details, but I don’t.
There will be more dark areas in further worlds and other uses as well. We planned out the entire 4 worlds and all the skills and upgrades at the very beginning of the project so while some things might seem kinda pointless or under-powered now, they won’t always be.
Nothing is certain, but I’m pretty sure these ones will only be around for this month.
Josh you think in future worlds we’ll get a better primary weapon than the stick?
Yes. Every skill slot has 3. So there will be two more primary weapons.
For really good reasons, there is are rules against using foul language in the game or on the forums. This include using “creative spellling” or acronyms to dodge the Name and Word Filter. Not all instances will be seen, reported, or censored, but for the most part, an effort is made to prevent people from typing words or phrases that, even if disguised, are basically offensive.
It may seem a little restrictive, but overall the policy is designed to keep the game world better for everyone.
I think a lot of it has to do with how large your thumb knuckle is. The split second it needs to happen will come sooner or later depending on the size of the knuckle or angle of the thumb. The skill comes down to replicating the perfect angle every time. And it’s important to be able to make your regular jump even if you miss the dodge part of it. When I was first learning, if I missed the dodge part I also failed to jump and kept dying.
What are the stats on the average ping? I get that some content is harder if you have a poor ping but if you are the minority I’m sorry but asking for content geared for those with a poor ping is quite selfish.
I’ll have to do some research. I’m sure there’s a bell curve and we can aim for the lump in the middle.
At any rate, this is why I asked if the tooltips were correct.
It’s quite possible the too tip didn’t get updated after the last revision. I’ll look into it.
To quote myself from another thread…
I hope to boost the scaling for some of the other popular events as well, but the large bosses (like the Behemoth, or the dragons) require art and/or engineering work, and can’t be upgraded with a simple content change. They’re on “the list” but I don’t have an ETA for when we’ll be able to update them, sorry!
A couple things:
In that case when do we PvE thieves get our 3s revealed debuff back?
Maybe so. We’re debating it.
Very well written Symbolic.
Great write-up. Just so you guys know, we’re trying to bring down the cantrip Ele, while also being careful to let other Ele builds work. We don’t want to just take all Ele’s out of play, but we do need to bring a few things down (traits/skills) in efficacy.
You need to contact Support as well, BD.
I really encourage your brother to contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist him. Since you ordered with your email account, they may actually consider you to be the owner, so if they cannot verify ownership for him, they can try with your information, which you can provide with a separate ticket.
For tips on what information to provide in a ticket, please read this post and provide as much as possible to expedite the ticket.
Please reread my comments. I have provided a long list of information that she can provide to help her at least try to verify ownership. Direct link: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/How-to-Submit-a-Ticket-Account-Issues-2/first#post3954
Thank you for your efforts to purchase gems. We appreciate that you want to support our game!
You have submitted a ticket to ask about this, and that’s good. There’s really no point in posting at this time; the team will answer you as quickly as possible.
The forums are designed for follow-ups (after three days in the specific thread) and for general questions of an account nature. But we specifically do not encourage a “submit-and-immediately-post” culture.
If you find you still need help after three days, feel free to post in the Tickets for Review thread, which is at the top of this Account Support sub-forum.
Have you recently received an email that purports to come from ArenaNet, saying that “we” have discovered you are attempting to sell your game account? You may have heard about this, it’s the one that threatens dire consequences if you don’t follow the instructions, which include clicking a suspicious link. Here’s some information about this:
This is a phishing attempt. Do NOT click on or visit any links provided in these emails.
In addition:
If you entered any of your account information on the suspicious website, please contact our Support Team (use “Ask a Question” on that page) so that we can take steps to prevent damage to your account. If you have not entered any information on the site, no further action is required (other than deleting the email).

I need more info to look at it. There are several escort events on that map, and “it’s bugged” doesn’t tell me what’s going wrong. If you can provide the current objective text, or event name, and where it’s stalling or you’re seeing other bad behavior, that would help me to track down the issue. Thanks!
Hi Magnetron – I’m sorry for any frustration this issue may have caused you. Skill lag is actually a server side issue that is being looked into. Unfortunately I don’t have an ETA to provide but please be assured this is a known issue.
