What is happening in some of these cases — not all, but some — is that the account is purchased and then fails the “fraud rules” and is refunded and closed. This is frustrating, I know, but it’s a part of doing business the stops fraudulent purchases.
There are a lot of interesting “fraud rules” that I didn’t know about until rather recently. And while it may be perfectly legitimate that a person in Canada is using a credit card issued in Guatemala, or that a person with a credit card had a billing address on a different continent, those often point to fraud.
I’m not looking at the individual issues here, I just want to make you aware that if you buy from us and your account is closed because there is some question about it, you’re welcome to contact Support but do be aware that in most if not all cases, we are refunding the purchase price, and it may behoove you to see if that was processed by your credit card company so you have the full picture in front of you.

If the team scores are tied, we compare total player scores for each team. In this case, it looks liked the red team had a total of 50 more player-score.
Hi David, I would like to ensure that your computer devices are running at the correct speeds. To do this we will be using a 3rd party program called GPU-Z which will give us more detailed information to help us with troubleshooting your issue.
1. Visit http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2157/TechPowerUp_GPU-Z_v0.6.4.html
2. Click on “Download Now”
3. You will be prompted to select a location to download it from. Please select the location closest to you. (If in the US select one of the US options etc)
4. Once the file is downloaded, please double-clik it to begin installing it.
5. Select “yes” and then “Next” and then “Install”
6. Once the install is complete click “Close” and the program should automatically run.
7. Make sure the “Graphics” tab is active and click the camera icon in the upper right corner. 8.
8. In the menu that pops up, select “Save to File”. Choose your desktop as your save location and name the file.
Once you’ve done this, you should be able to attach the file to the thread by clicking “More posting & formatting options…”
Hi HalcyonBrush – I would recommend a clean installation of the latest video card drivers. We usually have players try Driver Fusion. I would also recommend you update your DirectX. The game client requires the latest DirectX 9 components; this is true even if you have DirectX 10 or higher already installed. Please follow the instructions at Microsoft’s web site to install the newest DirectX 9 update:
Please be sure to save the file to your Windows desktop. Then create a new folder on the desktop and extract the DirectX files into it. Once they have been extracted open the new folder and use the DXsetup file to install DirectX.
Fix getting tested right now. Aiming for maintenance build this evening.

Hi Poplolita" – What *Caedmon has reported is correct. In regards to this issue, are you still stuck at 0% or did you manage to complete the installation?
Hi ben – There are a very large number of variables that could be contributing to low FPS. To eliminate some of those possible variables, I’d recommend taking a look at this sticky post to see if anything on the “checklist” helps your in game performance.
If you’ve tried all of these steps and nothing seems to work please let me know because 4 FPS is a bit concerning.

Hi Eventine – If you’re still experiencing this error, I would recommend a Winsock reset followed by a flush DNS. To do this, please try the steps below:
1. Click the “Start” button to bring up the Start Menu.
2. Type in CMD into the “Search programs and files” field but do not hit enter. Doing this will change your start menu to show the program “cmd.exe.”
3. Right-click on “cmd.exe” and select “Run as Administrator.”
4. Type “netsh winsock show catalog >C:\LSP.txt” without the quotes. This will save a file to the root of your C drive called LSP.txt. Please attach that file to this ticket. (We would like this report even if the issue is resolved)
5. Once complete, type “netsh winsock reset” without the quotes. When the command is completed successfully, a confirmation appears, followed by a new command prompt line.
Once completed, please try connecting again.
Next, please try clearing your DNS cache. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the R key. This should bring up the “Run” dialogue box.
2. In that box, type “cmd” without the quotes, and click the “OK” button. A DOS window should open.
3. Enter the following command below and press enter: ipconfig /flushdns
This should clear your DNS cache. You may need to perform this command a few times.
We’re continuing to investigate this. I hope that players will post in the thread in the Technical Support, so we can appraise volume.

I am sorry that you had to reboot the game during the event, and I totally understand how frustrating it can be as I play GW2 too. But please understand that if we deploy updates, it is due to a good reason and that it needs to be implemented at this time, especially for the patch showed in your screenshot.

The message you received is simply a warning that you’ve been messaging too frequently. There is no penalty involved, it’s just a way of asking you to slow up on messaging so that you are not marked for fraud.
I do not believe you need to submit a ticket — this is not an issue or an error, this is an example of a system that is working as intended. Now, if you say you messaged 3 or 4 times and you got the warning, then there is an issue and I’d ask you to post that in the Bugs Forum. However, I believe the warning is pretty well balanced now and I don’t think that would be the case.
Personally this is one of my favorite things to buy in the gem store. 5/250 gems or 10/450 gems. They are an ingredient for the Mystic Salvage Kit, one of the best mystic forge recipes in the game, and totally worth the gem cost, IMO. Great way to salvage rare items for ectos and it has an 80% chance to recover upgrades. Of course if you have the profit margin, the Black Lion Salvage Kit can be a good investment too.
If your pickup tab is very full of items, you may need to clear it before more items will be delivered. If that does not solve the problem, please file a support ticket at support.guildwars2.com

I’d like to correct a common misconception that I see popping up regularly in these threads. The culling that exists in Gw2 today is the same as what we shipped with. It was not introduced after the game launched, but was in fact present on day one. I suspect that people didn’t notice it as much in the beginning due to the game being all shiny and new, but it has been there all along.
I would also like to add a personal observation: I understand that the current state of culling is frustrating. It frustrates us too and we’re working hard to fix it. Often in these threads people propose a variety of options for addressing the issue along with the suggestion that their proposed changes are simple. This is a tempting line of thought but in my experience very little of what goes on in game development is actually simple. In particular, the changes required to deal with culling involve fundamental changes to core systems. Both the changes and the systems involved are complex, which is why it’s taking us so long to implement them. As I hope I’ve made clear in my posts fixing the culling issues is a major focus of the WvW team right now and I firmly believe that we will be able to achieve significant improvements when our current development efforts are complete.

Yeah I put in a Support ticket about this, my main concern at this point is weather or not her account is going to be upgraded with the hard copy of them game and if she will receive the booster pack since the game was purchased prior to the end of the event?
Do you think you could shed a lil light on that? I realize you can’t fix it I am more just asking weather or not all the work she did over the trail weekend is going to be a waste since we didn’t do it digitally. Thank you for your response in this matter just a little information about the situation is all I am looking for.
It’s my understanding that if you upgrade during the weekend your friend will get the bonus items. Please have her mention it in her ticket and I feel sure we will take care of her. It will not happen automatically, but again, an agent will make it happen.
While the “flow” is a little easier when purchasing through buy.guildwars2.com, we do want those who joined the trial and purchased the game to get their goodies.

I’m going to go find out why the bug reports didn’t get filtered down to our team.
As far as the lag, I don’t have the ability to check those metrics. I’ll see if a server-dude can help out.
I’ll take a closer look at the mortar, it’s definately not working correctly right now. :P
