There are a couple of things that could be causing this issue and so I have two steps that I would like for you to try in order to resolve this issue.

The theory is that the root certificates on your computers are not up to date. Follow these steps to update them:

1. Close the game client.
2. Download and run http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsupd.exe

3. You’ll probably have to click ‘run’ or ‘allow’ a couple times, but after that, nothing will appear. But that’s OK, your root certificates have now been updated.

4. Open the game client and try to access the trading post.

If you haven’t been able to load the trading post at all, try these steps. If this works for you, I’ll ask our customer service team to write up more formal documentation on this procedure.

Next, I would like for you to clear your web cache. Note, by following these instructions you will lose at least your graphics settings and have to set them up again:

1. Close the game client.

2. Delete the local.dat file located in Documents\Guild Wars 2\local.dat

3. Open the game client and check out the Trading Post.

With only three days to play, will those who are referred have upward level scaling or will they have to rush to an approrpiate level? Considering where lost shores is located I doubt anyone will be showing up as a level 1.

The weekend event will allow players of all levels to participate by level-adjusting them up to level 80 for the event specifically. Same goes for the new dungeon and the new PvP map (since PvP always does that!)

The idea is you should be able to bring your friends for the weekend and let them see any of the new stuff with you during their trial if they want to check it out!

Your processor, operating system, and RAM are simply not powerful enough to support your card. You may need to consider upgrading the rest of your system to balance out the card. This should resolve the issue for you.

My $.02 from back when I worked on Wayfarer Foothills (the norn starter map)

Norn are kind of jerks. Yes, dredge are xenophobic and hostile to outsiders (at least the military ranks are openly hostile, dredge miners just want to work), but the norn delight in provoking other species (dredge, grawl, jotun, et al) and displaying their superiority.

The North American and European data centers are different in one important respect: they are located on different continents. North American players connecting to the NA data center (and European Union players connecting to the EU data center) will generally experience lower latency and a higher likelihood of playing with larger groups of other players, as those in the same data center tend to operate during similar times of the day. So there are real distinctions between the data centers which their EU/NA affiliations make clear and for that reason we will not be removing their continent designations.

We don’t match up worlds from multiple data centers for similar reasons. Ultimately, the server that runs a WvW map must live somewhere in the world and the players who connect from that same continent will have a distinct advantage over those connecting from another continent due to lower latency. In order to keep things as fair as possible to all involved we keep the matchups within each data center.

Of course it is always possible for an EU player to choose to play on an NA server, or vice-versa, but in doing so that player is choosing to take on the burden of additional latency. That situation is vastly different from our matching system placing an entire team at a latency disadvantage without their knowledge or consent.

tl;dr: data centers are on different continents, latency is an issue with inter-continental connections, data center distinctions are here to stay.

We do not terminate accounts based on the use of hardware, unless that also involves third-party programs that give an advantage to a player. A single one-to-one bind is fine. Binding 11 different skills to one press of a key isn’t so fine.

Just talked to the Security Team coordinator. He said that the use of VPN may appear to give you better service, but you’re not seeing what goes on in the background. If you VPN into a proxy, and the proxy then connects with Guild Wars 2, you can see only the latency from the proxy to the game. That segment may appear to be a better connection, with reduced latency. What you are not seeing is the latency from your system to the VPN/Proxy location. Overall, your latency may not improve at all.

And as an additional note, connecting through routes that are known to be used by RMT companies isn’t a desirable thing.

I justed got banned… and it didn’t feel good
I got away from my pc for like 10 mins and I got banned.
I think that may is a problem that I sometimes leave my character online when I am afk… Is that wrong? I don’t know… I have done nothing wrong and any moderator can see that…
I think that I got banned way to easy… :/

I know yer’ feel bro! I was kicked while fightin’ some grawl.

So, what we do now?
I opened a ticket but I feel a little angry ‘cause I’ve done nothing wrong you know…
I play online games for like 15 years and never got banned but now :P
I think that mods have to do something with auto-bans… it’s not fair…

There are no auto-bans.

We will investigate each issue, but I’m going to say it again: A lot of the people making a fuss in this post are botters. They are taking up valuable time trying to get a reinstatement that is not going to happen.

If you are innocent of botting the team will help you.

Gaile… a question please.

Can you tell me how to access your ticket(s) when, at least for me, support logins are rejected because my account is listed as “disabled.” I can already create a ticket through the links you and others provide, but cannot login to support to view/change/update them etc. .

Given what is obviously a very busy and strained time at Support, I don’t want to add another ticket to find out why I can’t login to the support area too!

Support Account log-in isn’t tied to your game account. Have you checked the Knowledge base at support.guildwars2.com? You may find that you need to get another ticket into the system to correct the Support Account issue, but we don’t block you from your Support Account when your game account is suspended or terminated.

This was a graphical bug with the Shield of Absorption skill which has already been fixed. The effect area of this skill was the same between races even though the graphic made it seem like it was a smaller. The hitboxes and skill effects are normalized between all the races.

In the video you see the targets being knocked back further on the second use of the Shield of Absorption skill because it knocks back targets a set distance and chooses the 5 closest targets to the player. The first Shield of Absorption pushed back the 5 closest targets and then the second Shield of Absorption pushed back the rest of the targets within range. It appears that the skill has a bigger effect on the larger character because the targets were further away from the players than the first use of the skill on the Asura.

maybe this is helpful but i noticed quite a few ppl saying that their entire parties got baned at same time while being in the party… this is definetly something to look into while reviewing baning process by anet.

btw, really weird to have this happening after 7 years of flawless game support. i am not alone in this situation and it is realy kind of dissapointing and am wondering who else from my closest friends list will get the same experience… for now we have 1 hacked acc and 2 bans…

Are you under the impression that parties don’t bot? If they were banned for botting, it’s entirely possible that this is what the entire party was doing because yes, botters do join guilds, do form or join parties, and do everything they can to avoid detection. It doesn’t work, but they try.

If we encounter bots in our path of questing / farming should we head the other way as quickly as possible? if they get detected then anyone in the radius will get snagged.

something on the lines of what kaiser said. is it realy logical to asume all party members are boters? isn’t this the reason some innocent players get baned also? can it be possible that boters get partied with non botters? would it be smart to not bot as entire party since it puts more boters at risk of getting detected? generalization is never a good thing especially if computer makes a decision. not to get into argument here, but how is it possible that i personally got baned for boting if i got scanned by a real person? since i know 100% i dont bot or even know how to bot, then i can assume i got probably baned by some kind of program. i am just trying to make a suggestion where things might have gone wrong, thats all.

of course you guys at anet know what realy happened, i am only making a blind assumption with best of intentions.

Sorry, but you’re making a leap from “parties can be blocked” to “parties can consist of bots and will be blocked if they are.” If a bot is detected, no one looks at the party and takes out every member. Every member is detected to be a bot and then they are removed.

Having said that, I would not accept random invitations in bot hot spots, because I’m pretty sure you’re being invited to try to hide botting activity.

We don’t base bot terminations on a map sweep, where everyone in a specific area gets banned. But I personally don’t hang out in bot zones because their insect-like behavior drives me nuts.

GF's stolen CC issue

My account has been suspended for some kind of payment issue yesterday. Since my GF’s credit card has been hacked, her bank cancelled all her transactions last month, including the payment for my in-game gems. As we all know that Anet’s customer service is really SLOW, and i dont wanna get banned for this, i tried to re-make the payment with my own card, before i get banned.

I do not want to put all my CC info on email, not safe. And Anet has no phone service. I dont see any way that i can provide my card info to Anet safely, so i stopped and finally get banned yesterday.

I know “bane” is coming but i just cant avoid it, feels like a death timer.
Here is the ticket number [Incident: 121107-002359]? and i was rdy to make the payment long time ago.

PS: i remember last time i get banned in WoW during a boss fight, i got reply in 8mins from Blizzard and get my account restored immediately. What lucky is that when i log back into the game, the boss is still alive and im still be able to get my loot.

Different situations require varying amounts of time to solve. I don’t believe any company would be able to resolve a fraudulent purchase issue in a few minutes.

I’m sorry I need remind this incident here. But I’m very angry about some people in my country website forum said.

Those people who need delete the items/currency gained from the exploit said that they keep those items/currency instead of deleting them.

When I heard that it made me sad and disappoint, I think Anet guys were believe players are kind, so they brought those people who account had been banned back. But, today, those people said they didn’t delete it. AND, they said Anet marked the wrong price, so the they didn’t need delete those items/currency.

Anet guys, PLEASE, show out your determination. Let us who believe you can do right thing for normal players. Please punish those guys who still keep those items/currency.

This was an extraordinary case, and we decided to handle it with mercy and with trust. I do not see us doing the same process again in quite the same way. If someone did not delete a cheated item, then shame on them. But if they are that sort of person, it’s likely that they will be caught in wrong-doing again, and at that time, the account closure will be permanent.

btw, really weird to have this happening after 7 years of flawless game support. i am not alone in this situation and it is realy kind of dissapointing and am wondering who else from my closest friends list will get the same experience… for now we have 1 hacked acc and 2 bans…

Are you under the impression that parties don’t bot? If they were banned for botting, it’s entirely possible that this is what the entire party was doing because yes, botters do join guilds, do form or join parties, and do everything they can to avoid detection. It doesn’t work, but they try.
