You’re basically forcing people to rush to 80 just to unlock their trait tiers.

Traits are what makes builds tick, they should be available way sooner on the leveling curve. All this new system accomplished is make the early and mid game a chore, making people want to just rush through to get to the goodies, pushing them towards karma training and crafting xp spam, which supposedly aren’t what gw2 is about.

Lower the tier unlock levels (tier should be 10, tier 2: 30 and tier 3: 50), give the player more freedom with their leveling builds, PvE is already easy, you should at least make it enjoyable.

There’s no real support role in this game outside pushing your cleanse/stability button on cooldown.

Everything PvE is designed with the idea of full berserker > dodge out of circle.

Its that boring. Really they should just add healing and go 50/50 between the insta gib red cricles and having a dedicated healer in the back or some hybrid.

Variety, you know that thing they kept pretending they had at launch before everybody realised its the complete opposite where everyone is just another dps.

Best: Active combat, Free-to-Play done right

Worst: The entire game revolves around using dat dodge button, ALL THE TIME. It gets boring.

Also, I’m a sucker for playing healer roles and I really miss it when playing this game for a while, its actually what drives me away eventually, every time.

PvE balance is out the window because every class is underpowered except warriors.

Everything in PvE is aimed at people playing ONE way. Making an entire game revolve around the dodge mechanic was a mistake.

There are not many rangers high on the leaderboards in NA at least.

Well that only means there’s an opportunity for a prestigious Ranger to rise above the rest. Honestly, I don’t care about e-sports culture. I think ranger is in this state because Anet caters to e-sports fanatics.

This is so wrong. Anet caters to the casual. If Anet catered to the high tier players, the game would not be in this state.

You need to learn respect and stop expecting them to follow their deadlines. This is how the gw2 community has been holding it together so far, by expecting second rate service, just look at the patch notes..

I was off the game for quite a few months, I guess they implemented this after I left.

Kinda lame how it punishes you for farming Karma or just flat out farming.

Bots will simply switch to node teleporting and they have no use for karma in the first place, meanwhile players actually playing get punished just because…

So I got back to Gw2 a couple days ago and was leveling a new character. I figured I’d hop on the Queensdale train a bit, was going well, made a couple levels that way, then yesterday for some reason I stopped earning full rewards from the boss events.

I figured meh, and Dc’d for the day, today I come back on, hop on the train, do 2-3 laps and suddenly boom, my event rewards drop again. the character is level 36ish and was receiving around 1000 exp per boss kill gold medal. Now after the drop I’m getting 50ish. Same thing with karma, it just dropped to ridiculous amounts.

I don’t recall this ever happening before so I wonder, whats up with that? Its not a tagging problem since I’m still getting Gold and have no problem dishing out damage or finishing objectives.

Anyone can enlighten me on this?

Best heal in the game? If you play against brain dead people maybe.

Even in PvE mobs kill it in 2-3 hits max

Or do you only use it as detonation? In which case its 3 cooldown to result in less healing than a warrior’s banner (which they just toss somewhere and forget about it).

Subpar it is.

A turret shouldn’t be used only to detonate, if thats how Arenanet sees the ability then it needs to become just another elixir that is used in 1 button press and then give engis an ACTUAL turret.

They’re not gonna add new skills and trait when they can’t even balance the ones they’ve had for over a year. It would just be irresponsible when you look at the mess that is PvE balance.

I’m willing to bet my right nut that these “new” skills & traits will be unlocked through achievement points and as such, will be treated like racials.

AKA subpar and most of the time worthless.

Unless of course they plan to have you unlock them through lockboxes with a 0.001% chance.

The only way I could see this working is if they plan to balance through the new skills which i highly doubt since their focus since release has been the PvP epen kids.

I’ve never found a game where anyone thought anything anyone else did in PvE was “impressive”. I’ve never seen anyone look at someone’s loot and say “Man, you must be amazing!” or hear about their best raid times and go “You, sir, are an excellent player and I respect you as a human being!”. In the end, the person in question is usually the only one impressed with their PvE record.

Then you obviously haven’t played mainstream MMOs at a high level. Hell, just the obvious WoW has that. Seriously, get out from under that bridge.

To OP, if you want to “distinguish” yourself, go play real PvP games, this is an MMO. All you’ll find here are dissatisfied PvEers and crappy kids who think tab target>1234>hidebehindpillar is competitive PvP.

Its pretty hillarious how GW2 failed to deliver on almost everything it advertised itself as.

-Action packed and original PvE encounters? Bwahahahahaha
-Not gonna bother balancing PvP! /facepalm worthy, seriously, its ALL they’ve been doing, mainly at the expense of PvE, which an MMO is supposed to be all about. Double facepalm for you Anet
-Fun and varied live events! >Faction A is in town, grind tokens, open casino boxes.

I always laugh when people say stupid things like “Well PvE is easy, sPvP/WvW is where its at” when in reality, the only people playing PvP in MMOs are the scrubs that aren’t worth jack in the real competitive games like shooters, rts or mobas.

Basically, MMO PvPers are the rejects of the PvP community. If I want to play a competitive game, I’ll go play one of the aformentionned instead of wasting my time on this zergfest joke of a game that they call PvP. I also find tournaments hillariously dull, most of these kids wouldn’t last a round in any serious competitive game’s tourny.

In short, MMOs trying to be something they were never meant to be is just sad and pathetic, like the crowd it brings in. Now it wouldn’t be so bad if Anet wasn’t so deadset on focusing all their attention on this aspect of their mmo. You spend years making such a beautiful game only to ruin it in a couple of months with PvP balance? MMO PvP shouldn’t even try to be balanced, its a friggin minigame tacked on the side.

No, thankfully. Which is why cliffs were considered the necro’s only escape mechanism.

Still are if you have an unused Spectral Walk on your bar.

This game is a joke as far as balance goes, the dev answer even proves it “oh noes, our precious tournament”. They’re only listening to PvP kiddies and giving the PvE crowd the big finger every time. If I want competitive PvP Anet, I’m not gonna look for it in a silly MMO.

There simply is no balance, to assume there is was your mistake.

There is no reason to play anything other than Warrior for PvE or Guard in WvW

Anything else and you’re automatically gimping yourself, just look at the numbers.

Sure you can “like” other classes, but we’re talking about numbers and balance. Nothing self-heals as much or deals as much damage than the warrior in PvE and nothing brings as much or lives as long as a guard in zerg WvW. Its not even a close call either, we’re talking DOUBLE the values most of the time.

Its just silly how a select few classes get the tools for the job and the rest get shafted. Buff everybody else to be on par? Nope, not in my game!

From what I’ve experienced on my warrior, Adrenal Health doesn’t benefit from any stat, it’s flat 360hp/3sec (unless there was some epic change in last weeks Imissed). Also, keep in mind that regeneration is provided only in range of banner they plant. Tertio; Nobody plays healing power warrior, so you won’t spot any serious in pvp or wvwvw(I agree some may run in zergs, however they’re meatshields). It’s because even if warrior can get that regeneration, he has to stand still, don’t use his burst skills, can’t kite/chase and is very vunerable to poison. Without protection, still worse tank than normal guardian by far.

It gets healing power bonus, Adrenal Health does, with a paltry 1100 healing power you’ll knock it up to around 520hp/3 seconds. Natural Healing which is a 30 point Beastmaster Trait heals for 180/3 seconds by Comparison. There are multiple Ways to stack Regen on a Warrior, lets not kid ourselves. Hell I stack it on my Ranger Mainly from Dyawana Runes. You can also use your burst skills, I’ve done it, You can regen your Adrenal Bar up very quickly as a Warrior. You can Kite and Chase just fine if you use the right weapons (Sword or Greatsword, so pretty much the same as a Ranger) and all classes that use any type of regen are vulnerable to poison. Warriors don’t use Healing Power gear because they’re so use to 100b exploding people.

Rangers learned to use Healing Power Gear cause we simply didn’t have any better options

Don’t even need 1100 healing to break the 1k barrier, I’m currently running 800 healing from only trinkets and I’m at 1k/sec

Sure I kill stuff slower, but it gives way more breathing room and is easier on the nerves. You also don’t need to be hitting something to heal up, that is just priceless in some situations.

Not only that, Banner is the most OP heal in the game IMO, the range is ridiculous compared to guardian heals and its a fire and forget spell on top of the stat bonus.

But glass warriors will always dump on anything that isn’t clad in full berz and god forbids you dare trait into Tactics/Defense

I think the point was, outside damage and stealth rez (but a good group shouldn’t die in the first place), thieves don’t bring enough to the table.

Wish they’d buff venoms or add some unique mechanic.

There is the constant blind build but its so kitten boring.

Just triple Backpack Regenerator’s base healing and then add healing power scaling.

What engis really lack is sustain, not armor.

Actually it scales with Healing Power from 150 to 190 (1500 Healing Power). Lol that ‘s what I found in the Changelogs and couldn’t stop laughing. YEAH right everyone invest into 1500 Healing Power for 40 more Healing

Yeah thats what i meant, upping the scaling some wouldn’t hurt. But even then, comparing it with other passive heals like the warrior signet or Ranger’s Onguent/Natural healing its still very poor for mitigation

That only works for Engineers who A) use Kits and use the Backpack Regenerator trait. My intention was something that would benefit all Engineers, as some simply don’t like using Kits.

Currently you have to either switch out of FT and gimmick it up with shield 4 or waste a utility/toolbelt to compensate, which is annoying since the FT itself already takes up a utility/toolbelt slot.

Maybe add a finisher componnent to the FT toolbelt idk, but yeah, first time I used my FT I was sure #2 was a finisher, was actually surprised when i read the tooltip.

How is rifle “common sense”? What does it have to do with nature magic? Personally if Staff and/or other magic weapons were added for even more of a Druid feel I would love that… and unlike a rifle, it actually fits with the rest of the theme.

Unless you are one of those “Ranger = range attack” people…

In the same line of thought, Thieves should never be allowed to use Pistol because BANG BANG is not stealthy.

Eles shouldn’t have daggers because duh, melee and Mesmer 2h Sword cannon makes no sense.

Meanwhile, i deal extreme amounts of DPS with full berserker Axe/Mace while getting ~700 HP/s from the healing signet + Omnomberry Ghost(~340 heal on crit, 1 second internal cooldown, 90%+ crit chance at all times).

While facetanking things are cool for a while, you may want to reconsider builds for dungeons.

Not every warrior likes being a fotm glass cannon.

There are other builds outside Perh Perd DPS 15 mins run LFM Mesmer/Warr only.

I guess in the end it all comes down to your personal idea of fun.

Did not get kicked, but after a wipe on one boss at the very end of the run our party leader quit…..and we all lost the reward.

This is why gw2 needs a good lfg like in wow, swtor, rift, nwo and any other mmo not stuck inthe dark ages.

And kicks need to be at least 3 people. Preferaly 4, with a timer lockout

Pretty much.

How a kick system can be implemented without requiring at least 3 people’s approval is just beyond me.

Then again, this isn’t the first time they take the lazy road with coding.

The pve elitism is not the elitists’ fault at all it is Arena net’s solely.
Trying to escape the holy trinity they allready enforced it in another form.
All dungeon mechanics favour certain proffessions at some point or another making other proffession less favourable or even undesireable.
Trinity never left.

Anet’s dungeon model is flawed simply because it didn’t design its classes to be equally capable.

Sad part is, a year later they still haven’t fixed it.

I won’t lie, I definitely ran banner regeneration at one point in my life on my warrior. Never again.

You were doing it wrong then, as far as dungeons/pve go, banner warriors with the new regen signet are able to facetank a lot of crap, possibly even more than guardians. Add in adrenal health, cleric trinkets and regen food and you easily get 1k passive regen per sec without having to push any button. No other class can come even close on that field.
