Story missions too unfair for solo players

On the other hand I like to think the story difficulty modes (with reduced rewards ofc) would allow more people to have an enjoyable story experience so they would stick more to the game, getting to eventually learn all the combat mechanics. I’m not a huge story/lore buff but I like to see how some story arcs conclude. And while not I’m completely against difficult content , I can’t see the story being one of the difficult content pillars.

The story missions can teach you the game so when you go out there and do something with other people you are better prepared. A solo closed/instanced environment is better for training and teaching people how to play than the open world or content for multiple players.

Ok, I’ll play this game. Maybe I’m a lousy player with a bad memory but I managed to go through the HOT campaign until the last mission – where I failed and didn’t want to replay it, and I don’t remember learning something crucial to use in open world events.

If you could point some examples that I might have overlooked – please tell me. I’m not ironic btw… I just didn’t see anything special that had to be learned through the story missions, that you couldn’t see in normal open maps anyway.

Well I learned how snipers work, I found out when to reflect the frogs dart hail, I learned wich mobs to not use my stuns on and alot more. I will not say it’s only from doing storymode but as you are in a more controlled space with no other players it’s easier to take it easy and study the enemies and the situations.

Expansion QOL improvements?

No. Devs have said they are aware people want build templates, but they are not a priority and will not be a part of PoF release

This pretty much sums up the state of the game.

It does? Well, as far as I know the game is in a very good state and there are alot of updates, both QoL and those who takes the game another step forward.
The QoL improvement you are looking for is something that I want too but I also know that there would be needed alot of new coding and alot of ways to make so it can’t be used to exploit.

So I agree with OP, it is something we really need. I also want it with PoF at least in an update close by.

Let me get this straight:

Giant bunnies are alright but giant Corgis are immersion breaking…?
Giant munchkin kitten FTW!!! Since they are so long, we could even ride them in pairs, adding to the romantic aspect of GW2 many of you asked for

Edit: umm well the fantasy world created by Anet has a Lore but everything that doesn’t go against the lore is there as soon as Anet devs put it in there. If it goes against there lore, well… It’s there anyway, what the devs put in the game is there. I don’t think things that Anet put in the game is immersion breaking, it might sabotage your picture how Tyria is. Tyria is Anets world and they can do what ever they want with it.

Also if it ruins immersion of the millions of other people? This is toxicity at best, people wanted SAB graphics outside SAB and look what that it, gliders, wvw, its ruined, its cringy, its absolutely deplorable. Corgis, and other cute mounts that you KNOW dont belong will do nothing but make the game lose asthaetic appeal.

Why not buy a corgi in real life and leave the game for what it is.

I have 3 Corgi Bmbroke in real life. I only said I wouldn’t care if it broke immersion for me but I am aware that other may suffer for it, I am just giving my opinion. Gliders, weapons and armor that’s weird does not break immersion for me, it is a part of the world. But having it as a Mini won’t break immersion more that a puppy, kitten, Llama, Monkey King and more.

PoF Elite Specializations - Feedback

(I couldn’t find a Feedback post for all classes)
Now I have had the time to try all classes elite specializations so I am gonna give my take on them.

HoloSmith (Engineer is my main)
As this is my main i think I tried it the most, but I must say it was a little tricky to stay alive compaired to how it was as scrapper. But the damage is outstanding. I must say I find this Elite pretty balanced, a little bit over the top. But I couldn’t go full Holosmith to be good, I had to mix in old skills to be able to withstand the High conditions and Power that has arrived with the new specializations.

Soulbeast
This one started of as feeling weak and bad but I found out that bear gave me 2 invulnibily skills on top of using signet of stone… I went for full DPS with Longbow and I fealt more like a deadeye than a Thief. I found more builds that could do massive damage and well. Soulbeast is the class I saved the longest before I switched it out (Only two character slots to try with). I beleave that this Elite can be powerfull with an experienced player.

Spellbreaker
Actually this elite was really cool and it was good too. I managed to find a build that could keep me alive but still dish out a good amount of damage and Dazes. Once I got the elite of cooldown more or less everyone went down. It’s awesome to strip enemies Boons, Guardians and Engineers went down like flies. A very stong Elite and I liked it alot, still it wasnt better than Soulbeast for me but still was a mighty good contender.

Firenrand
First I tried a burn centered build combined with my old symbol guardian. Well that was not very good, there are just to many skills that goes through blocks nowdays. Then I though, what if I did a build that focused on healing and remove conditions. Now we are talking about a healer class, this one was fantastic. With healingpower, Staff/mace and focus and traited only to survive, heal and healing symbols I could withstand the most. I got problems when I faces 3 or more who focused me but I could keep other players alive very well as long as they didn’t run away from me (Wich they do all the time in HJ). In my opinion, Firebrand is a really good healer.

Renegade(I can’t play Revenant at all)
I am just so bad at Revenant that I can not make a good opinion about this. I did very good condition damage but I could not survive very long. I could not find any good condition cleanser as renegade and in my opinion, the best option was to use Legendary demon stance and well… It didn’t do much good. Not worst of all classes I played but it could be as I didn’t have any direct problem to win against any Renegade I met.

Deadeye
Realy fun to play, neat damage but I didn’t do a good job. I also noticed that most matches on HJ was atleast 3 Deadeyes. When playing HJ you don’t realy care to capture points, only to try out your Elite spec so everyone just jumped on top of high points and shot from there. I noticed that it was very easy to keep you stealthed so if I was in danger I used escape skills and stealthed to get to a new location and try again. Very good at soloing out targets but even so, I think that it needs alot of skill to be a usefull player in a real match.

Scourge
I will just say it from the start, this is the most OP Elite Spec ever. The condition it can dish out while at the same time gives it Barrier to not only itself but to everyone around it and the pillars. You can put pillars inside a whole cap point and make enourmous damage, boonstrip, condition cleanse, barrier and even direct damage. This is like the Warriors Spellbreaker but with large AoE’s and every boonstrip gives Torment. You almost don’t even have to aim to hit someone, it was so good that sometimes I was alone Vs four players I just dodged and put my Sandshades all over and started to give myself barrier and well just tried to stay alive while just clicking all my skills…. Suddenly all four players where downed, I didn’t realy understand how they died, maby there was a deadeye in my team that got them while they where chasing me.
The Scourge’s I have fought against had given me the most hard fights but they have not always been unbeatable.
This is in my opinion an over the top Elite spec.

Weaver(I am useless with an Elementalist)
Well for this Elite I can say that I didn’t do good at all. I modified the pre-build I start with a little as I almost don’t know any usefull things with Ele. Well it was bad, I died and died and died and didn’t do much damage at all as I almost ever managed to come close enough to hit. I did try it a few matches but becouse I am so useless with Ele I didn’t think it would do any difference anyway.
But the eles I fought was mostly easy but there was some who realy did heavy damage and could survive a long time fighting alone vs 3.
I think this Elite can be realy over the top with skilled Ele players.

Mirage
Another cool Elite and pretty usefull. It can dish out a rediculous amount of conditions and confuse enemies. I can’t manage it but most Mirage I fight throws illusions around them and I can never find the real one. Even so I did very good as Mirage and after a little training with it I managed to even stay alive against 3.
A realy strong Elite but if they get trapped and or can’t get away from players corsair they are doomed.

I dunno if this can be used or not, but this is my take on the Elit specs atleast.

As story goes, Elona is a place where Asura haven’t been that much. Why and how would there be alot of way points there?

Well there are waypoints in Dragon’s Stand next to an Elder Dragon

Yea becouse the Pact or the other factions has set it up there. There are still Waypoints in Elona too. I said why there would be alot of waypoints, there isn’t many Waypoints in the HoT maps iether.

The Mounts are Useless

I may be wrong but. Way points has been less and less since silverwastes and has nothing to do with us having access to mounts. I think it is because the game becomes a little bigger if you have to treverse the maps more then just jump to every location you need to go to.

About mounts not giving you any specific than what other mastered does. Well they do. We are going to the dessert, there is probably no mushrooms to let us jump, speedboost or recharge our skills. The different races is not there… We need new means to get us around the new area, mounts seems to be a perfect answer. Not only do they help us get around but as we level them up with materiens they will have some more special abilities.

[Feedback]Path of Fire Preview - August 11 - 13

Good:
- Mount movement and animations are smooth.
- Wonderfull scenery, usually don’t like deserts but this one is very nice so far.
- Bounty hunts is a cool way to bring players to same locations and easier way to find bosses on the map.
- Music is still awesome.

Bad:
- Would like the ability for the mount to sidestep, rather very slow than not.
- As some said before, there are some slopes and ramps that makes your raptor stuck.
- I have always been against pocket mounts, I do not like that you just magicly summon a mount from thin air. I rather have it fade in from a small distance and run up to you as you mount it. Maby a little longer mount time but still I rather have that.
- Some enemies have pretty mutch health and isn’t realy that hard… so it is just a bore to fight them… For example Hydras and their decapitated heads. They made it a little tricky when they butted in while fighting the Sand Shark Bounty … (Looked forward to fight Hydras in this game as I hated them in GW1 :P)

They do not make anything “sure”. They also aren’t really needed for any part of the game. They are just a handy tool to see how well are you and your team performing and help you improve. They aren’t supported, but they are allowed.

Please give me a link or some kind of evidence where someone from Anet says clearly that it is Allowed?

Thanks, much needed. Sometimes I get realöy angry with anet… Why post this in Redit only, or does they say this on this forums? Is there a sticky?

However I will stop my complains here and now and go download a DPS meter for fun. I love to make build, now I can see if they are good or not. Thoguh I am still against it for reasons to kick players… But that will happen anyway.

Another thing, out curiosity… Does the DPS meter tell you if the boons and class effects someone shares are counted in to that characters DPS? For example: If someone goes for a more build with more boons to share but does a little less damage, the boons gives everyone a little more damage output and maby a few more blocks? I bet you see the maximum damage of your whole team offcourse but can you see that the near death experience the other guy had would have been a fatal blow if this player didn’t use regen instead of might? Can you see that this player has more skill than any of the other players?

DPS meters show buff/boon uptime as well as healing and damage. If you parse them correctly you can know who is doing what.

I guessed so. But in regards to the one I responded too… It was most important to have high DPS. I wonder if everyone cares about who is doing what or rather just kick the one not doing alot of DPS. Anyway, dps meter in my eyes serves only one perpose in this game then… Highlevel fractals and Raids (Yes I was/is against raids in this game to begin with) becouse everything else I have managed without any Gearcheck or DPS meter in this game.

Until anet says clearly with their own words that DPSmeters are allowed (Not counting the overlay ones) I will never support DPS meters.

Remove berserker and allow only condi builds

Condi builds are OP as you can get power, precision, ferociy and condi dps at the same time. Why even go berserker when you can get it all with conditions? plus when you go condition your enemy will need condi cleanse, and you do dps when you are away from the enemy or cced etc. A pure berserker can’t do dps while away or cced. As a condi dps you also get conditions that kitten up your enemy in many ways. A berserker can’t do that.

Remove berserker stats. Revamp the traits and skills. Make everything condi based.

A condi build does 10k damage on one hit over 5 seconds, a power build does 10k damage on one hit in an instant.

Why people hate conditions so much is becouse the damage at first does not look so significant so you continue fighting and they you notice ‘ouch it hurts!’ if you are out of condicleanse you can just see your life run out and you cant do anything about it. While if you are hit with direct damage you know you took a hard hit and you will disengage.

Personally when someone uses an add on that won’t affect other players I wouldn’t mind. But this Wow stuff just makes me mad. DPS meters, being kicked from fractals for not doing enough DPS… That’s just horrible.
I hope anet can be stricter with their rules.

Why is it horrible? Do you know the mechanics of high end fractals? Take the last boss of nightmare. if your dps is subpar you WILL wipe the group because you aren’t killing him fast enough. In the past, once the group realized this, anyone NOT running meta class/build would be kicked, because we could only assume THAT person is the reason we are kicked. Ele doing 900dps would be kept around because ele, guardian NOT running dragon hunter would be kicked even though he is pushing out 10k dps. How is that more fair than dps meters seeing the ele doing 900 dps and going oh GOD that’s why we are wiping, dude, wtf are you doing in t4 fractals? Kick. This is the single greatest addition for high end instanced PvE as it allows us to make sure we are kicking the right person. If you’re getting kicked for low dps don’t wine to Anet, get better. Work on the dummy, improve your gear. If you can’t be bothered to do that, don’t do T4 fractals. they aren’t easy anymore.

DPS meters are not supported, by using DPS meters you are hacking the game in a sence. No honestly I do not know the mechanic in the highlevel fractals but also if I did and if I did run them I would have probably know what builds I would use if I where to join an experienced team. Now there are idiots who does not read the LFG text and join even if they do not fit the bill but that is another problem that needs to be adressed without hacking the game.

I am a guildleader and I have had alot of players left and almost left the game becouse DPS-meters and yerks in dungeons, yes- Dungeons! One player said to me that he was kicked becouse he was doing less DPS than everyone else, the dungeon took 11 minutes to do instead of 8 so he got kicked from the team during the next run.

This game is pretty casual in most parts and I think that you BurningHeavy is exaggerating about needing to do enough DPS. Sure maby it wont work if everyone is Cleric or Soldier or something but whith a group with even “roles” i am pretty sure it is managable but maby it wont be done in 3 minutes so you can farm it as fast as possible. If I am wrong then I suggest you start giving anet suggestions how to make the fight about skill and not a race against the clock.

I am not sure I understand what you have written OP but I will try too.

What you are upset about but I think it is becouse HoT Spoiler -> Eir dies but first of all End of HoT spoiler ->Treherne dies too so Eir is not the only one to die.

Now, I am Swedish and I just love how Norn has the Nordic feel to it and a nordic name for my Norn is a must. But first of all, I know that this is a game and Norn are not a race on Earth and they may have Nordic names but they are not Swedish, Norweigan, Danish or any other Nordic human. They are Norn in a fantasy world.

Alot of characters dies in GW2 and they belong to all different races and racist or hate any kind of race just becouse they decides to finnish of someone in the story.


Now I may have been totally off but I tried to understand the post and give an answer from my opinion.

PoF Demo - Feedback

this is my feedback on path of fire . at least they got that much right about it . after I told some one I was going to buy the game . I made the choice to wait till this beta weekend to go over the demo its self and make my mind up on it that way . instead of going right out and pre buying the new pack .

that said I had to change my mind now and not buy the new pack . till I see changes and if I do not see some of the need changes when the game comes out then I will not be buying it .

here is some of my reasons for not buying path of fire . instanced content right out of the gate. the story its self is hap hashed together tossed in with a boss fight .

next Unidentified gear had that in the first guild wars it was ok for that game . but it is not ok for this game guild wars2 even tho its a nice flash back to guild wars its self .honestly truth be told in guild wars 2 its a major turn off for me .

next mini games another major turn off for me . and makes me not want to play guild wars2 even

mounts are ok and fine giving this is just a demo . honestly that was the only second thing I could find I liked about the new pack . next to how the map is laid out unlike hot maps which I really hate them

in the words of a good friend of mine bloody god in hell what have they done now to this poor game I even ask that even more so after seeing the bounty boards with yet again another pop up telling me about another yet again mini game

after seeing this honestly glad I did not say a word at all to any of my friends . as I already knew they would never ever come back to this game after they got burned with hot .

1. Instances right out the gate: well you know that when you start a new game it is a story instance, every new episode introduces a new map via the story and HoT has a story to introduce the new expansion. That is kinda what makes the game go on, the story. Why would you just be thrown in to a new expansion?

2. Minigames: Well good thing is that you probably don’t have to do them, for me it wasn’t until now I started doing the HoT minigames and I still had almost all Hot masteries filled out.

3. Weird that you see bounties as aminigame, well maby then the game is a whole minigame because every event is a minigame.

No offence but most of the problems you have with the game will probably not be addressed.

Never mind, should have figured you’d all spread that Git Gud crap. A solo player can’t kill a dragon even in exotic armor with pitiful weapons. I’ve tried a warrior, a guardian, a necromancer and all couldn’t get through the second part of story mode with I counted 10 after me and the boss and something shooting fireballs.

Plus I was talking to the devs, not you.

Hilarious, a veteran player that got killed in that scenario with a necromancer. You are obviously lying to the teeth.

So far you have insulted OP twice for posting a problem he/she has with an encounter.

Don’t you think it would be more constructive to analyse the problem and come up with a good advise instead of “git gud” and flat out calling liar?

People that also struggle with content like that could also benefit from that, because im sure there are a lot more.

We weren’t all born with ‘mad skillz’ and some of us even have IRL nasties holding them back.

Maybe a tad more empathy? …. please?

You are correct.
Though it’s wierd as OP says he/she is a high level fractals player. Something seems fishy to me.

new player opinion about GW2

First of all I will tell you that dungeons is something anet has stopped working on. Now it’s raids an fractals instead. Some traps are bugged and can’t be turned off and hasn’t been fixed in 2 years.

Number 2, I remember when I was new to the game and got angry at dungeons as they where to hard. But now they are so easy that you do them as a farm.
The thing is that the game battle mechanic is very different than many other mmo and it’s alot more about active dodging, blocking and evades and not passive evade stats. Bosses do have very telegraphed tells so they are pretty easy to evade and also don’t use power, precision, ferocity stat combo if you are bad at dodging.
Dungeon storymode are pretty easy but can be tricky at lowest level possible, so I suggest get gear for your level and find a build that fits your stat combination.

I played beta story solo as a scrapper with zerker stats and after that a reaper with carrion stats and didn’t die once. I am no Hardcore gamer either. I hope anet doesn’t make it easier. What fun are games if there are no challenges?

I just log in, to say one thing. The best thing about HOT maps was the replayability thx to the metas each map had. This map we got seems to not have any , instead feels like a core map(a queensdale instace) wich you do once and never come back. Anet if you really take this path the maps will be empty in a month or less and i will want my money back for the pre-purchase i made.
All the rest, like mounts, masteries, story, map design, specializiation(even if they are like the greatest thing ever) will be obsolete for me if there is no metas to do. So please, i hope you didn’t listen more to the feedback of those who left during hot(because map is to stresfull,too difficult, too much meta,it’s not core maps with hearts), instead you listen to the ones that kept playing the hot maps.

Beta map = not the full map, if there is a meta event it is turned off. Did you play HoT beta? I remember verdant brink was only able to test the half map and there where no meta and alot of event chains didn’t exist.

Just wanna say that I love how the mounts feel right now. I for one hopes anet does not listen to those who want to change the speed of the mount. The only gripe I have with them is that I can not strafe with them. I would love to be able to make sidesteps even if it is really slow I would like it rather than nothing. I love how they have momentum and tail swipe is awesome.

I will try to give some feedback too then.

Been playing for about 2-3 hours.

Good:
- Mount movement and animations are smooth it’s cool to just run around on the raptor as it looks so nice.
- Mounts is not for super speed so you can run past every enemy, it is still not what most of these “I want mount” sayers wanted. It is more what I wanted, a mount that help you traverse different obstacles on the map.
- GW2 keeps being a visual enjoyment and is food for my eyes.
- Bounty hunts is a cool way to bring players to same locations.
- I never realy liked desert landscape and I didnt like it in GW1… But now it is realy nice, I love the pyramids (Caves) and the cliffs to bad the Beta ends just before that part.
- The battle music is realy neat, music has always been good in this game and it still isnt disapointing me.

Bad:
- Would like the ability for the mount to sidestep, rather very slow than not.
- as some said before, there are some slopes and ramps that makes your raptor stuck.
- I have always been against pocket mounts, I do not like that you just magicly summon a mount from thin air. I rather have it fade in from a small distance and run up to you as you mount it. Maby a little longer mount time but still I rather have that.
- Some enemies have pretty mutch health and isn’t realy that hard… so it is just a bore to fight them… For example Hydras and their decapitated heads. They made it a little tricky when they butted in while fighting the Sand Shark Bounty … (Looked forward to fight Hydras in this game as I hated them in GW1 :P)

Living World prices and future expansions

The new maps and lull at every new episode is one big reason why people would buy them. The story for me is very important and I beleave that most players who enjoys the story actually plays it when it goes live so it makes it free for them. Those who just skip story and rush through everything in a fem minutes are the ones who are so bored with the game and plays it in small bursts and misses the window to get the episodes for free.

If I where a new player I would play the game in story order and once I am at the episodes I have to pay for I would probably have gold enough to buy or have already bought the episodes. The expansion is HoT and not the seasons.

Why party?
Well because…

1. You will see your partymembers on the map.
2. You can do dungeons and fractals with you party, without a party it may be a bit tricky.
3. You can go sPvP together.
4. You can chat privately with only your party.
5. You can easily change map instance to your party member.
6. You can do story instances together, either help or se it for the first time together. You can also help out doing achievements together.
7. It is FUN.

Isn’t these reasons enough? In Gw2 experience is pretty much useless as the game begins at level 80 and it is far to easy to level up as it is.

Then tell me, how should it work? If someone crashes I the end of the game then no one should be winning? Well then it would be exploited even more. Should an afk player be kicked for not pressing any button for 5 seconds? Tell me, how should anet fix this. Get constructive please.

Dodge, stunbreaks, stability and other defensive mechanisms protects you from CC. Personally I do not have any gripe with CC. Sure, it happens that you in some situations have used up all defence but that is my bad, not the games fault.

I do agree with OP. Now I haven’t played much at all but something is different with the old JPs and the new ones. I have completed all old JPs and I found them entertaining. The new JPs for some reason I almost haven’t even started trying to do. It’s like, nah… So much frustration, I play for fun.

I could be wrong but… Are not these numbers all regions combined? Korea has the most and to my understanding GW2 is not as popular over there for reasons I do not know.

I just figure that the other games put more energy in the Korean market than what GW2 does. But sure, everyone does not think like me.

Many other more non-korean MMO-games does not give half as much content for free as what Anet gives GW2. Sure maby their expansions are bigger and cheaper but you will have to wait one or two years before you can play the next story. Between that they may put in one or two dungeons with a few features and bug-fixes. But it is not better than the ammount of GW2 updates.

( I may be biased as I havent had the time to play other MMO’s for over a year, so it may have changed since )

I don’t mind them. Or rather, they are no problem for me. I change quite often and I still have atleast over 100.

From OPs suggestion I had a though… keep charges but sell character custom slot. That is another page where you can edit your wardrobe look and use it by clicking use, when you wanna use your first look you click use on your first wardrobe slot and to use outfit slot you do exactly like you usually do and equip your outfit. That way you can easy and “free” change between one and more (depending how many slots you buy) looks.

Well there is a difference with fat characters and big characters.

What some players are asking for are fat Physique and not big and strong physique. They want to be able to make a character who realisticly would die of heartattack after 20 yards.

I am not gonna lie, I would have created a fat character if I could but mostly for fun.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I am hoping it will do something to the discussion.

I got my Legendary backpack a week ago, managed to get to gold1. I stopped playing and played again yesterday and I had a decay so I was playing in bronce.

I dunno how matchmaking works when you have decay but before this I had a 50/50 or even more a 60/50 winrate. Yesterday first match was a blowout, my team lost with 120/500 and everyone in my team yelled at eachother instead of playing. The next 4 (I think it was) matches after I have a winning streak, I would have won another two matches in that streak if it wasnt for leavers. Now I am on mid Gold2.

Also I must add that when I started this season, after my 10 matches I was dropped on Gold2 I lost a lot of matches (Becouse of bad teammates in my opinion) I fell down to silver1. After that I started winning more again and well then last week I ended up on Gold1. Most games I play are blowout matches iether for my team or the other team, but I should not blame MM for that becouse when it’s starts going bad for your team there are always someone who goes AFK.

Does MM work? Is this how it is supposed to be?

Warrior Is OP

How about, you go and play that profession exclusively now for the next two weeks and then tell us your “progress”.

Testing something like that on a weekend, with still very inaccurate ratings of the majority of players, for only a couple of hours max. and then making a post about crowing how easy it is … Im not even commenting on that…

Im playing warrior today, too… why? Because its thief/mesmer daily. Doesnt mean warrior is braindead, just very good at countering badly played thieves and mesmers.

Had one pewpew thief today unload into shield repeatedly and kill himself…. is shield reflect now OP and thief needs a buff? That would be the same as your conclusion.

So burnguard is op? Wait until people learn to not stand in aoes. It already started, Im seeing less and less players die to burnguards. At least in gold t3. Where according to your very premature prediction the majority of the players will be.

Apropos burnguard… one guard today used sword 3 into shield reflect… nearly as funny as that pewpew thief.

I have played engineer as main since game started. I am pretty sure I know that Warrior is easier to play even if it is a weekend or not. Also both me and Aurora never claimed that niether Warrior or Guard was OP in higher tiers.

I also mentioned that I can beat warriors on my engineer. The skill level and requirement to do good with a warrior is very low in my opinion and I can not understand how Engineer got so many nerfs to defence and healing while Warrior heal so much that I usually have top healer (From healing myself) in the end of the match.

I am not a very good player. Though I am sure that many matches I have played in silver tier and even from when I started in gold tier there have been alot of bad players.

Most players after the 10 intro matches gets dropped in somewhere between bronce tier 1 to Gold Tier 3 no matter how good they are?

Now let’s say that you get dropped off in gold tier and every match you play you get teamed with players who was “lucky” enough to get to gold tier and does not deserve it (like me). Now I am a bad player who makes my team loose. You who rightfully are a gold tier player gets unlucky many matches and get matched with “new” players who makes your team lose. You will drop in rating and the lower rating you get the more is the chance of getting bad “new” players in your team and thus you will end up losing more matches than you deserve.

I don’t know where I deserve to be but I know that most of my matches ends in one team with score below 250 when the other reaches 500 me winning or not, if all players where equal in skills wouldn’t matches be more like 350 and over when the other team reaches 500?

Warrior Is OP

Yesterday I started aiming to do some achievements and started playing Warrior instead of my engineer.

I made a quick look at metabattle and choose Condiwarrior (Mace/shield warrior).
I can usually beat those Warriors on my engie but it is a though battle and I though that those Warrior players are good… I… I take that back.

I havent played warrior much and not very used to it and I defeat everyone except players who play warriors better than me. And in teamfights I just run around charging my adrenaline and go berserk weapon swap powpowpow weaponswap powpowpow, block block block (Gaining might) resistance when I get to much condi to cleance with F1 and Weaponswap and if I get to much power damage I go invincible. Whahahaaa! Most of the time I go down is when I get focused by two or more players long enough to get all my defencive skills on CD. But even when that happens my attacks i made to heal myself while focused has, if not downed one or more players it has atleast hurt them alot so that my teammates can take them out (If they get there in time).

I am so supriced now why Engineers got so many nerfs the latest patches to defencives and stuns/dazes… While Warrior has it all.

I am a Silver tier 2-3 player (Going back and forth).

I just want to see if this is intended or what happened. Last match yesterday seemed that it didn’t count and I didn’t think about it then. But today I had a look at my stats and noticed something wrong. Look at games won on the left side and then look at my rating games won… ?

Why is it like that?

Ended at rating Silver tier 2 close 3 ( don’t remember rating)

Scrapper modified meta.

During the first ten matches I won 7. Just after that I had another 6 matches, lost 5 in a row and won the last… I had anot her match and won but strangely it didn’t count so I won’t put it in statistics.

In my opinion atleast 3 of these matches wasn’t lost becouse of me. I guess it is to early to say anything but it started to get pretty enerving when I lost the fifth match in the row.

Just report him for afk if he does it in one of your matches. If you’re in silver or above you probably won’t see him though XD

Nah, i do it without beeing afk, after all suuicide gives 5 points and therefore speeds it up and i still look like i am fighting.

And silver, no idea how far i will make it this season but i stuck all the time as common ruby soilder, let’s see how good/bad i really am

Actively playing to ruin the game for other players… It is not always becouse of players in your team that are very bad, it can be that the other team manage to get the upper hand at start at gets your team in a bad rotation. Many time I and other teammates has been able to communicate and listen/read get the rotations on a good way again this leading to a victory. There are many other reasons so giving up is a bad way and with so many players like you giving up we will never know what action is the best, but by continue to play the matches even if I am losing or winning grants me experience, that’s my best reward.

Will the rest of incoming updates/expansions be just more jumping and gliding too? All these jumping, heights, and gliding thing makes me nauseous like literally and have to close the game in minutes of playing.

Gave up getting gift of exploration because I have a hard time on the vistas. Only finished a couple of jumping puzzles through the help of mesmers. Having the hype for HoT then get disappointed because it’s not just another jumping expansion they even add this gliding thing, I even have to ditch my WvW guild whenever they go to red borderlands.

Now I was excited to play to check A Crack in the Ice, getting ready with my boosters but when I saw a video of it it’s just another jumping and gliding update, it crushed my hopes that it’ll be fun.

Started playing since the release but the game’s just mostly stereotyping of zerg farm, zerg battles, mass ressing on boss fights, loot/item spam/stacking, and kitten me “jumping”.

Idk if there are others that feel the same way I do, this is just my thought. So again the question is will there be a lot more jumping and gliding in the nxt updates and expansion coz I don’t see myself playing for long if I can’t enjoy any of the updates.

Maby you should try it before you hate it. I haven’t finished the new episode yet but so far I haven’t had to glide a signle time, there are up streams and laylines but not needed to continue. Also on the previous episode there where almost no need to glide and jump only on just a few spots.

And finally, you can get gift of exploration without gliding once. And there are only a few Vistas that need JPs so for them if you don’t wanna do them, ask a mesmer to help you.

I beleave that there are more players that like the jumping and gliding in this game than there are those who don’t like it. I think you are on the loosing side.

Mods that changes ingame codes are not allowed in GW2 but overlays are all okay, like many overwolf overlays but I do not think these reduce the ammount of noice they usually increase.

It seems that you can not remove damage floaters but you can remove most name tags.
There are a few placement options for mini map and quest log but other than that GW2 has very few mod options, and aparantly these are stuff that GW2 Devs are okay with as there has been many suggestions to fix a more modifyable interface.

The thing is this… I think.

There are specific loot tables for each differ loot bags.

First why there is bags in reward chests is becouse to nullify the effects of magic find.
- there is specific event bags there can be
- the different maps bags, after that there is
- different mob/boss bag, after that
- we have different crafting bags…

Each bag has their purpose but I think the main reason is to nullify magic find.

Imo 15 should be for first offence… Anet is too kind.

If I get a DC and gets a 15min lockout, sure I get annoyed but at the same time I understand that this is necessary to get players to not ragedc or just log out during a game. I would chill out and do something else while waiting 15min again.

Let#s ask this way, what do you prefer;

eg thief is daily, and a lot of people want to win with thief – do you rather have 2-4 bad thiefs in your party that try hard to win but don’t know how to play thief – or do you prefer those players go into a hotjoin, that says in the name what to do/not to do and don’t dirsturb your game in the next match?

Never forget what the achiefment “League Professional—Elite” done to a lot of ranked games – i meant i was swimming in the dead sea – as much salt!

Then fix MM so that bad thiefs isn’t paired with me. Also do not allow class stacking and make away with the stupid class winner achievement. I agree with OP.

What class I find hard to fight, has a lot to do with what class I’m playing, and how good I am with said class, and how good the other person is with there’s. It normally need to be 2-3 people vis me on my own for me to go down, and then I can normally get one of them down before I get downed.

Well that’s why I asked something like those who play one class mostly and not switch to much, but even so everyone are welcome to answer. So in short,
- the class you play the most and/or like the most.
- Don’t base difficulty depending on one single fight, try to find a good middle value of many fights with that class.
I mean I can not add Necromancer as the hardest class I have met just becouse I had a fight with a Necromancer a few days ago who defeated me a DH and a thief solo, next fight I had with him went better and was a 1vs1 but he won with ease anyway.

Of course it all ends in player skill, but sometimes Matchmaking does a good job.

Too me this thread sound like a perfect example why there is “no” diversity in this game. People are so afraid to try something else, they go with the flow, everyone complains about the GS for necros my girlfriend had a match a while ago where someone told her to Uninstall GW2 becouse she used GS, surprised he was when we won the match and (I know it doesn’t say much) she had the highest standards score by far.

And I see some players here getting almost angry at a Dev for being kind and truthful. This Dev promised to try GS and so he did, he came to the conclusion that it was okay but using dagger may be even more usefull than GS. Also as I have understand this, this dev is not responsible for balancing.

Guild Hall/Scribing even if they made it a little bit easier it is a good though made realy bad.

Something (in my opinion) that should be almost as easy as dressing your character in the wardrobe is a painfull grind, it takes away the true purpose of a nice Guild Hall, a cool place to meet your guildmates.

For many Guilds the guild halls is just an empty shell with nothing interesting in it, Devs talked about finding their own little house and decorate it and more. Sure, grind for it forever if you do it alone.

I dislike grind and I think Guild hall and Scribing is a broken concept becouse of the massive grind that has to be done.
