Ye, guild rushes seems pretty bad implemented… There is not enough explanation of what to do and how to do it.
What I have figured out (doesn’t have to be acurate):
- Your guild has to activate the Rush flag by having the Guild Race Mission active and pressing an empty flagpole.
- Other players outside of the Guild can contribute to the succsess but they will not earn anything.
- A guild who has started Guild Race mission but can’t activate Rush mission pole due to other guilds doing it can’t help the other guild and compleate their Guild Race Mission by doing so.
- Easy, Medium and Hard Guild Race Missions have no difference in difficulty even if it says recomended players 5: you still need 15 goals but I guess that the timer is the difficulty and I havent looked at that.
Then there are a annoying bug:
- When someone finnish a race they sometimes doesn’t count and will result that they have to wait for a few minutes for it to count and that can lead to failure.
What I would like to have a fix on is that guilds should be able to help eachother on the same race or make so that a guild doesn’t have to wait for another guild to have their timer run out.

This probably isn’t an exploit, but it is hard to tell with ANet. The mission “Into the Labyrinth” is 100% bugged for everyone at the moment. At the end of the cutscene, you get placed in terrain and can’t speak to the NPCs to complete the mission. The only way to complete it is by killing yourself. Now, I’ve already used that item you get in the Living Story, but there is another way. If you use the Sous-Chef’s self-damage food + a self-poison skill, you can kill yourself and then be able to talk to NPCs to complete the mission.
At least, I suspect you can get back into the room. The Sous-Chef is in LA today and I can’t buy his food because he doesn’t spawn in NEW LA.
As long as you don’t compleate the mission without doing it and doesn’t earn loot, gold, achievment and other stuff by doing it I think it is not atleast an banable exploit. It’s a workaround a bugged event. I whould have waited for a bug fix though.

If “something breaks” its either software or hardware. That is not something, to the best of my knowledge a GM in ANY MMO is responsible for. In the vast majority of instances, GMs are responsible for dealing with player behavior.
There is an in-game bug report feature, as well as the tech support side of this forum, for everything else.
In LOTRO, when an instance bugs out, a GM will come and advance it for you, so you can get completion and not lose any progress.
I’ve also asked LOTRO GMs to unbug NPCs that won’t talk to me and they can do that, too, so yes, GMs in some other games are very helpful.
Thats total BS!
After release of Isengard or even after the release of MoM they stopped being good GM’s … Our raids bosses gliched and became friendly a few times and GM’s didnt help us make him an enemy again so we had to reset raids a few times. At another time our friend who we did the raid with couldn’t open the last loot chest, she looked with a GM and they couldn’t let her loot that chest. There was one time I was stuck in a wall that a GM helped me get out of it. I havent played Lotro very much since I started playing GW2 so maby it have changed now but I doubt it.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Could be when a player has crashed, they can’t be stomped. It have happened to me before but it have only happened once during my GW2 time playing since release.
Is this a known bug?

They are working as intented, Coztics have stealth, evades, stuns, roots, poisons, and high damage ranged and melee attacks, they are supposed to be theives and rangers with super op stats. Basically it comes down to you need to git gud.
The whole LTP or in your case “git gud” crowd that you so proudly belong to needs a serious reality check. There’s nothing positive in telling a player that their problems are because they are a bad player other than some warped sense of superiority you derive from saying it.
I don’t think he is right though… I would say ‘Iether you scrap your so called Zerker meta or you “git gud”’ becouse they are not hard and they do not one-shot you at all if you just have some Thougness and/or vitality.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Yes, especially since I don’t just get crashes but I get full bluescreens. :/
Check your PC if it’s not overheating or have some hardwere failure.

My wish is that it never happens… Not that I do not like GW franchise but I would rather they upped the graphics of GW2 and continue their wonderfull work they have done so far.
If there where to be a new GW game I would like a Single/Multiplayer rpg-game (Non MMO that is).
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
This
Imagine max level would be 90 now and all your 80 gear would be like 2% weaker.
I’d rage out if I had to grind 9 new ascended armors because of that…Masteries may count as leveling, but you get more powerful through itself, not through higher level gear. And most of the new stat combos are kinda irrelevant.
And this
Aaannnd people have quit the game because of lack of character progression after 80 and a stale meta on gear stats.
The really good part about Masteries is how it does not invalidate your gear and how it does not make the old maps irrelevant, like how level increases do to other games. (Try playing in a low level map at level 100 in a game like WoW. One-shotting champions only is amusing up to a point.)
and I would have had 12 characters to level up to level 90 or whatver level cap with or without tomes… (pretty dull) but with masteries I can play with any of my 12 characters and still gain EXP from my account wide masteries. Ah… So much better!
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
I am going to leave every match from now so I can be with the big guys on eSports then! thanks for the info!
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Hold on; didn’t they announce with the release of HoT, that the dishonor system is finally enabled again? I must have misunderstood that…
…now that I reread it, it was apparently indeed meant to only get enabled once PvP leagues start. Uff. And I thought it’s already in place; even moreso as I’ve never had a single queue fail since HoT released, and I also never had any afk-ers or leavers in any match yet. Well except one match where one guy seems to have been disconnected for the entire match or so, but that’s it.
Ye, sometimes you are lucky… I played alot of matches since HoT release and well I have not seen many leavers, there has been some but not many but today was horrible and I am not joking, iether they left or iether they gave up… I don’t know why, could be the time of day too. Anyway the point of the post is that I would like Anet to speed things up and get this Dishonour system back in to the game and also I really hope it can fix some AFKing too as that is worse than leavers.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Thanks for posting this FOX…. I have a small guild with just me and my husband. I had heard how hard it is to get guild halls and that you need a big guild and so I thought the task would be impossible for our little guild. My hubby has hot, I have yet to get it (possibly christmas)… It is good to know that with some work it is possible for a small guild of 2 people to be able to get a guild hall… gives me something to look forward to and something to aim for when I get the expansion
Yes, I am in a Normal big guild I might say… But most players don’t represent and we are about 6-7 players working on the guild.
I doub’t you can claim a Guild Hall with two people but it is possible to get help but after that you can do most of the GH stuff with only two players. There are some Guild Missions that is restricted to 3 or 6 players but some of them are possible to do with just a few players and even solo. Guild Rush and Bounty can be easy done with some help from others, Guild Trek can be soloed or duod but it can be quite hard at hard :P
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
A bit of a mess? You can say that again. It is updide down… It is Mad Max apocalyptic!
Major unbalanced classes, People who leaves before match even starts, People who AFK, Players who even cant press Ready!, MMR is out on a trip to Tibet and Jolly happy faces has been killed by Mordemort.
I am glad that I do enjoy PvE in this game or else I would have Ctrl+Z – Ctrl+V this game to a Portable harddrive and thrown it out of the window then fetched me a bat and start to go berzerk on it’s face until it was only dust left and then I would put it in a bottle of water and freeze it and then thrown it out again and started beating it all over again.
Hmmpf… There now I have gotten a little frustraition out of me, now I am going to go out the kitchen and bake some Saffron bunns. Good luck to you all PvPers out there, no matter what I said just now I will probably play this rubbish again later. Stupid game to be so badgood!
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
I can’t solo play anymore, every freakin team I have been on have had leavers today… May it becouse I am a bad player or not but people should not leave.
Last match someone left from start at stronghold and enemy team breached the first door in first rush I just couldn’t waste my time playing anymore, I rather waste my time complaining about it. I mean I hate leavers and now I became one myself becouse I am not getting punished for it and everyone else seems to do it! Stupid silly game!
I can rather play HJ now becouse chanses are even greater there to get a full team now.
I won’t solo play anymore untill they fix this!
I am frustrated and sad.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Wahaha it won’t go away!
I don’t get these l2p and it is easy to dodge replies. A skill that hit’s so hard and with low CD, just like DH traps is OP no matter what. The concerns is in a cluttered teamfight.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
I have had this since beginning of GW2… Before though it happened once a quarter or so, so I didn’t bother but now it happens alot more and… I play a scrapper with no Kits and I have gotten stuck (I bet my kidneys that I didn’t weapon swap on that character).
Happens because you jump and get immobilize in the air so you cant do anything, prove it
This has happened to me also but it is not the same bug, it is very different.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
By the logic in this thread we shouldn’t be receiving the bazillion champion bags we get, as they have no relevance to PvP also.
+ 1 OP this is a fair request
Not true as Loot gives you luck, gold, Cosmetics and other currencies.
Luck gives you Magic find wich in it’s turn works on PvP rewards wich then gives better loot.
Gold can be used to buy gems or used at TP to buy Cosmetics.
Cosmetics us widely used by the PvP community and I rarely see any PvP player with original skinns on their gear.
Other currencies can be used to unlock specific gear that is otherwise locked behind PvE.
Now would you have been happy if PvP players coulnd’t get what PvE players could? Lot’s of players complained about this before wardrobe.
I am a PvX player and I don’t want PvP to be a farming ground for PvE players more than it allready is, IMO all those glory farmers should be banned from PvP (but that is another topic).

Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
My guild isn’t exactly a small guild but we are only about 7 players activly trying to work on our Guild Hall out of 100, the rest just don’t seem to bother. Anyway, last weak we had Guild Trek and WvW Mission and PvP mission on our weekly opertunities, the Guild Trek was on hard and we managed it with 4 players. PvP mission was medium so we did it pretty quick and WvW hardest part was to find an outpost to take over and when we did we made it with just 3 players. This week we have (Have now unlocked PvE: mission opertunities), 2 Puzzles, 2 rush and one Bounty. For bounty we was just in time to join in to kill a bounty but we have managed bountys before with just 4 players, Puzzles on the other hand Requires 6 players and we have only been 4 online at the same time lately and Guild Rush well… We tried one and failed and then we tried the other becouse it was easy (Well difficulty on Guild Rush does not seem to matter) but it wasn’t anywhere near easier :P But we where in luck, there was a guild wainting for their turn and they helped us, so we managed to compleate that Guild Rush. A million thanks to that guild.
Maby one week now and then we “small” guilds won’t be able to compleate all Guild Missions but it is rather possible to do most of them with only 3 or 4 members. As you level your guild you will also open up more Weekly oppertunities.
I think this system is so much better as I don’t have to force players to represent and it feels like we are doing more progress like this. Influence system takes alot more time that earning favour, by just compleating one Guild Mission you can upgrade a new building but with influence we had to wait wait wait and wait to get enough influence and you had to do about 5 guild missions to get enough points to build next guild mission, our guild had guild bounty and Guild Trek after a few months… With the new system we now have Alot of different Guild Missions to do every week.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Oh it is enerving… I have been in many maches lately where people go afk and/or rage quit becouse we are fighting against DH’s and Heralds.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
When you see teams being mostly DH you can be pretty sure DH is OP and a very desired class.
It is fun though when bad players think that a team of DH is the best and your team wins almost flawless :P Yes, DH’s are OP but yes DH can be beaten very easely.
The thing about DH is that their skills are very OP and with lucky shots they can insta kill tanks. There is little to none skill to play a DH at the moment and every newbie plays them so that’s why they are so easy to kill.
A skilled DH will totally crush you though. It’s like an Un-nerfed ice bow that you can’t get away from.
If your going into pvp with “limited” stability or stun break options you really should stick to pve, skill sets are based around pve and pvp, you can’t really use pve dmg dealing skills in pvp, at least not without sacrificing something else, like utility or stability options.
Not evey class has insta cast stability, stun breakers does not work to get out of the traps.

I think it is easier to find a guild and have a few people help you… Well I think it is actually even easier to wait for other players to get to that HP.
Atm I have been able to duo all HP’s (Havent done all maps yet).
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Well some people reason like, well suit yourself for not dodging and for going in close combat with my guardian (Whe teleporten on me and put down traps in one go).
It would have been fair if Shredder Gyro, Electro-whirl, Thunderclap, Arc Divider, Debilitating Arc, vault, “Feel the Burn!”, “Aftershock!”, “Nothing Can Save You!”, “Suffer!” and “You Are All Weaklings!” could more or less one-shot people and also protect the caster and give them massive healing and retaliation I mean the skills wont be OP stop complaining you just need to L2P and dodge, stability or walk around them to avoid it.
DH skills are seriously OP, yes I can beat a DH if I am just 1vs1 but with a team fight with a DH a well placed trapp can whipe a whole team with almost one-shotting traps against my Knight stats build.
Next reason DH is OP, everyone is playing DH. Most maches I play there are alteast 2 DH on each team and they are all playing the same way. There is no emidiate skill to playing a DH, you can be a newbie and be a pain in a team fight. There is very little skill to teleport, put down traps and in less than one second you have gotten a tanky build down to 10% health and made him/her use up all defencive skills to get away from the traps.
A ranger condition trap build is almost as horrible but rangers can’t teleport and traps takes longer to deploy. They also don’t make so much damage and if you are quick with stunbreaker (Once) and condi cleance you are in the free for a good while. Rangers traps isn’t laying there sucking the life source out of you while you cant stunbreak your way out of there.
In my opinion, iether lower the duration for Hunter’s ward or nerf damage from Procession of Blades and also lower the effects of the skills and make them more visible. It is pretty hard to see if you are standing in a Hunter’s ward when you also are also standing in a pit with 2 or more traps that are shining bright white-blue all over the area.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Don’t forget coarse sand. It is really silly. I very rarely complain about stuff in GW2 but this is yes the worst thing they have ever done. Atleast flax can be harvested while playing new maps… Coarse sand can be aquired from maps that you have allready played and well… If I had gotten Coarse sand while playing these maps long ago I would have millions but now we don’t so… Ha Ha to us.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
I am sorry I never meant that you did actually say ‘I want it now’, I meant that iether you can enjoy the game and it’s content and eventually you get what you want or you farm for gold to more quickly get your hands on what you want.
Also first statement you say only works on paper? Well it works for me, thats how I have played GW2 since it was released and I still enjoy it and I have never farmed for gold in the game. And I have also bought most stuff for real cash and I have a few dollars put aside to be used on MMO’s. I don’t put money on other MMO’s just to be able to play them now and I can buy lots of gems instead.
After this has been said I am going to leave it at that as you want. I beleave we won’t get anywhere with this.
“I meant that iether you can enjoy the game” There are many things in this game that I do enjoy, however one big element I enjoy doing in MMO’s is hunting down all those items. Special mounts, mini’ s, skins, toys, ranger pets. But not by grinding gold for them all, no by them giving me many different challenges.
However that part is for the biggest part grind gold (or some other currency). So that would for a big part be enjoying the game, and that is true for many people. Look at the guy who was talking about WoW and how many people were doing raids for special mounts.“Also first statement you say only works on paper? ~ And I have also bought most stuff for real cash”
So it did not work for you. The content of hunting those items was removed from you and you payed your way out of the grind. You were not able to get them by playing the game or by directly hunting them down. We are talking here about playing right. Buying items with cash does not count as playing to me.“I don’t put money on other MMO’s just to be able to play them now and I can buy lots of gems instead.”
Well that’s why it’s designed as it is, to get people to buy gems. I however look at it from a game-play perspective.
Wow you really refuse to understand anything I am saying.
If you need it now you grind, if you want to hunt it down while you play and enjoy the content of the game you will get it someday, you don’t need to grind anything. Most of the places gives you what you need just by playing everywhere in the game but there is an exception with Dungeon tokens and a few (sadly) new places like Flax Seeds and Coarse sand. You get gold from just playing the game.
It worked out very well for me, instead of spending my real cash on a monthly sub I rather pay real cash for gems now and then and as I but aside saved money to just this I am not loosing money like this I rather have money over as it’s not every month I pay for gems. I also rather spend my Gold i earn by enjoying the game on stuff I need to get the stuff that is outside the gemshop. If I didn’t have any real cash to spend on gems then I maby would have spent gold for Gems but I still wouldn’t had boore myself to tears by farming becouse I really don’t like farming. So the difference between GW2 and wow is that you can play GW2 and in the future you will have gold enough to buy what you want but in WoW you have to grind an Instance or whatever to hopefully get the stuff you need.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Never experienced something like this. I don’t have any lag.
The problem as I understand it isn’t that OP has Lag s/he is well aware of this as an Australian, the problem is that with lag it is impossible to get the glider to be used in right times. Like the game does not register that you for example are keeping space pressed. As OP said when you walk and there is lag the game still makes you walk even if you lag but gliders don’t deploy.
Am I right?
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
I don’t have lag so I don’t know if this works but.
Some people jump and then press jump again, If I know I am going to fly from the start as your picture shows I always keep jump pressed.
What I mean is when you lag and press jump during your jump the game doesn’t react that you pressed the jump button but if you keep jump button pressed from the start of your jump then the game should behave just as if you pressed WASD for walking. Maby this is what you are talking about but I am not sure.

The fractals Legendary stuff and all mastery stuff is Expansion content and why should it not be locked behind the Expansion? This is nothing you had before the expac.GW2.
Fractals Mastery you require to increase fractal rewards. Base rewards for content that was already in the game. They did not add to fractals content AT ALL. They did change features and interface, and destroy any and all challenge there was to fractals at all, which was what kept the fractal community playing despite a dearth of rewards all along (that’s not a new thing)
.
They re-color the weapons (the golden weapons have less effects than the old ones), add a legendary back pack*, and made it so that we could choose our islands- added a new fractal daily system. The last two are great changes- but these are features being added to the BASE GAME CONTENT. This was not maguuma or heart of thorns content.*The legendary back piece should perhaps have required something from fractals’ collections but been part of legendary crafting mastery which perhaps should have been its own separate mastery category that gained XP from both tyria and HoT perhaps gained double XP in HoT- but that everyone had access to whether they bought or not.
I bought HoT, maxed my fractal mastery. I am not complaining because I do not want to spend money on the game. I just do not think this is the way to treat your veterans who aren’t interested in HoT, keep the “undecided” players- the ones who have not bought HoT yet, playing- nor a good impression to make on people who are new to the game.
I have heard alot about this on the forums that rewards are nerfed and put behind masteries… That is actually bad but I want to see the facts that it is so. I am no regular fractal player but I have gotten more interesting loot + a few Ascended rings just as I usally got when I did the low level fractals… I bet it is the random drop weapon skins on higher fractals we are talking about or what?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18IHVJao5j85KOp6lBTOgO8qs4VYD3Xty-jKPZo8o-Q4/pubhtml
Here is some fractal drop research. This is significantly lower than it was pre-HoT.
It’ pretty clear yes… thats sad but on the other hand the current tab has only 573 chests and none have over 100 except for veterans. From when I worked with datacollecting I learned that we needed 200# from each part not more and not less. On the pre Pre 23/10/2015 it is over 7706 chests and on both level 40 and 50 it is around 50% more opened chests that on level 20 and 30.
What about the other thing that you can now only get the stuff from the Masteries? It’s sad that they have made it this way so that non-HoT owners can not get the “good” stuff… It’s fractals after all and you are supposed to get your ascended gear there that’s how I understands it.
Anyhow with the Masteries how big are the chances for a “good” drop?
In the end, I hope this is just not inteded that it is just a bug that will get fixed soon and if it is not I hope they make ascended drops come back again.
Read Here:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Central_Tyria_mastery_tracks
Not a bug. Even with the masteries the chances are not good- but the loot table is increased and you have access to more daily chests/achieves/merchants- but less daily chests tiers than before HoT.
Can you point me to where this tells me it is not a bug? Actually what I understand out of this it is even more clear that it is a bug. I am not saying it is and I am agreeing that if this is not a bug it is a really bad move of Anet.
I agree with OP about all the stuff we had from core now being locked behind HoT, this including the fractal part if it really is not a bug.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
If you want these fluffy mounts in GW2 can pay a one time cost and then you have that mount or you can play the game and enjoy it save your gold that you get during your journey
Works on paper, but not in reality as there are always multiple mounts you want to go for. The hunt for those items in general is game-play. That is how many enjoy playing an MMO. They said them self a goal (like a mount) and go do whatever they need to do to get that. In these examples that is always grind instead of different quest lines.
Now you say But I want that thing now!,
I should basically stop this debate with you right now, as you are saying I said something I did completely did not say. Heck I would hate it to just get items now as that completely removes the game-play value of them (just as the ability to get them by brainlessly grinding gold btw). Not only you act as if I said something I did not, you even make it bold.
My friend, if you try to win an argument by using a quote that never has been said you did lose the argument already as you show you can not make your point without making up things.
Will react on your other comments anyway.
In WoW and many other MMOrpg’s you are forced to do one or a few different instances or places to get an RNG drop and this drop is crusial to have to be able to enjoy the next bit of content.
We where talking about mounts, not about horizontal vs vertical progression. So not really relevant. But thanks for sharing..
With every game there is Hype and when the Hype dies so leaves the bad eggs also. I doubt GW2 has been in any danger of dying and I have seen constant updates and new story for GW2. So yes, less WoW players complaining that GW2 isn’t WoW is a good thing for me even if it means that GW2 looses alot of players back to WoW. It’s not a good thing to listen to Hype trains.
You are absolutely right about a game having spikes. I was more referring to the longer trend. So just after the ‘hype’ has ended. Lets say 6 months from now. You would still want to have a certain numbers of players.. not the amount you have now but still. So when I refer to people walking away I basically the number of players dropping under that what you want (after the hype).
I am also not really referring to WoW players but to players who like to hunt cosmetics. What might be a big part of the player-base for a game that is focused on cosmetics, you know like GW2.
Very few is actually complaining about any grind at all at this game.
There is this thread, there are multiple threads about the pre-cursor crafting being to grindy there are indeed people complaining about guild-hall being to grindy. And thats just now that HoT is just new and people have many more things to go for.
Again, grind is not the problem with OP’s post it is about so called Paywalls.
With many of these topics where grind is an element, the topic itself is not “stop the grind”. If you however look at the post he clearly states multiple times how you can buy the gold you need.. You see, there is a paywall to get rid of the grind.
I am sorry I never meant that you did actually say ‘I want it now’, I meant that iether you can enjoy the game and it’s content and eventually you get what you want or you farm for gold to more quickly get your hands on what you want.

This game is not about grinding (you may think so but it is not), you can choose to grind your gold if it is better in HoT or not is just stupid. I dislike grinding so I don’t do that and I have been playing since release and still have things to do.
Let’s do a comparison with WoW. Let’s say that you want some epic mount in GW2. Most of them are locked behind quest (not at all grindy) or behind a RNG drop from a dungeon (that might mean farming that dungeon).
Now let’s take GW2’s mounts next to that. The toy mounts, or the gliders. What is the in-game method to get them?
This grind (for a big part because of the gem-store) being a problem is what I have been talking about a lot in the forums for the last 2 years. By putting (the best) items (in a horizontal progression game that includes skins) in the gem-store or making it general drops you effectively remove part of the game-play and (the hunt for those items) and replace it by grind.
Well in my opinion you are totally thinking alot wrong and playing the game in a wrong way. Let’s compare WoW with GW2, in WoW you pay money to be able to play each month in GW2 you don’t. If you want these fluffy mounts in GW2 can pay a one time cost and then you have that mount or you can play the game and enjoy it save your gold that you get during your journey and then Buy gems for Gold and never have to repeat any content at all. Now you say But I want that thing now!, well then you have the option to grind to maby get your stuff earlier and that is your choice. In WoW and many other MMOrpg’s you are forced to do one or a few different instances or places to get an RNG drop and this drop is crusial to have to be able to enjoy the next bit of content.
[/quote]
With the number of players dropping you did also see the numbers of complains about this dropping. Likely because those not affected by it where left.
Now with HoT here, many old players have returned (including those that left because of the grind) so you now see once again an increase in threads complaining about the grind (directly or indirectly). And honestly, I think HoT did make steps in the right direction here. Just not enough I guess.
Very few is actually complaining about any grind at all at this game. But even I am complaining about the ammount of grind for Small Guilds and Scribe now and how bad it is implemented and I hope for a change. And also again the Hype train is back and people who left and are back to try out HoT will be gone again becouse GW2 is GW2 and not WoW.
It’s now up to Anet to make sure they make the steps needed to solve this grind or they will leave again within the upcoming 6 months. And they will not come back for the second expansion.
[/quote]
Again, grind is not the problem with OP’s post it is about so called Paywalls. OP abviusly want’s to grind but complains that Grinding has been moved to HoT. Sooooo… I dunno, GW2 is an MMOrpg and you can’t get away from grinding but GW2 is the game i have ever played with least grinding and I have played alot of MMO’s Most of the grinding in GW2 is for iether fluff or not even needed, you can play the game and someday you get what you need. Season 1 is gone so temporary content is of the past.

Yes, it is really bad that Guild Bonuses is locked behind HoT expansion now.
This game is not about grinding (you may think so but it is not), you can choose to grind your gold if it is better in HoT or not is just stupid. I dislike grinding so I don’t do that and I have been playing since release and still have things to do.
The fractals Legendary stuff and all mastery stuff is Expansion content and why should it not be locked behind the Expansion? This is nothing you had before the expac.
Samething here it is HoT content, nothing that was there before why should it be available to people who won’t buy the expac? Also I know a few who have gotten a realy long way in Legendary crafting and havent bought anything, I have helped them doing content to have them aquire specific pieces they need and then they have saved mats so they have pretty much enough. I havent done these things yet so I can not say for a fact in even my opinion that it is totally fine. But still it is HoT content, people have said on forums that it is cheaper to buy yourself the old stuff on TP so why cry about it?
How wierd? They make an expansion and they make it locked to people who don’t by it!? Anet are horrible!
Call me a White Knight or whatever that argument won’t make people sound better. People can look at my post history and see that I am not all loving to everything in GW2.

question, do you run full zerker gear?
I run full zerker and haven’t really had issues with mobs killing me – the problem here is that mobs that “evade” or are invulnerable for long periods of time ( like smokescales) are not fun to play against.
It’s the laziest way to make a fight more dangerous/take longer – make the thing you’re fighting periodically invulnerable.
Even QTE would be a better way out.
In my opinion it is not a lazy way to make fights longer, it is a way to make you realize that this is your defencive phase of the fight. It forces you to plan your moves and not just go all out zerker on your enemies. People complained before that most of GW2 content was just 111111, but now you have to use other skills during these phases to get away, block, evade or dodge.
I run Knights with my Scrapper and I kill a veteran smokescale in less than 30seconds, CC it and keep it out of its smoke circle, the only time when it is realy invurnable is when he does the shiro skill but two timed dodges and you go pretty much out un-harmed.
It’s not about what skills you use – it’s simply adding an “unfair” mechanic – no matter how skilled you are an invulnerable enemy is still invulnerable.
I have no issue killing them or staying alive – it’s just that I find the mechanic of making them last artificially longer through invulnerability to be a “cheap” way to add challenge.
It is so sad to hear that people are in so much hurry that they don’t have time to wait a second or two. You call it what you like, lazy or not, I am saying that Smokescales, frogs and snipers and other enemies that has defencive or even both defencive and damaging skills are there to make the encounters more interesting to fight. Are you saying that a Guard that are using Renewed Focus, Scrapper using Shock Shield or a warrior uses endure pain are just lazy dragging out the time?
There is a reason for their skills and sometimes you encounter these mobs not solo but alot of them and then their skills combined results in you have to pay attention to what they do. If you are going full zerker you have to stay alert and if you are successfull you will win fast. For me who plays Knight it takes alittle more time but it gives room for some failures. This is how it is supposed to work.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
I’ve seen lots of bad DH players who kill lots of other bad players. Only thing that I want to be nerfed are all those visuals, when I am fighting vs 2 DH + 3 other players in one place it feels like nuclear explosion is going on here.
Visuals are problems. Sometimes I miss dodge to someone else’s traps because from all those ability visuals I can’t see what am I doing, so I back off a fight and snipe from far.
Ye, the visuals are insane and the fact that they are all white’ish makes them blend in to eachother and you cant see squat. Fighting on point with two DH is like fighting in a big white shiny cloud.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Stealth Gyro have saved my life many times… But my scrapper is a tank and needs survival. I use it when I stomp, rez, getting out of trouble or making sure people loose target from whole team now and then.
I think Stealth gyro is perfect and doesn’t need a nerf becouse if it does it will not get used and be another skill like mortar was before update.
I may have missed it but people who want’s to nerf it, how do you want to nerf it?
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
Yea, it is frustraiting that so many players are so bad that they have to play DH to even think they can compete with good players.
Majority of players play DH for a reason, I bet it is becouse of their cool name.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
I remember reading this: guild hall is balanced around 10 players and would take around nine months to fully upgrade based on the highest rate of mine output. Colin also mentioned in an interview small guild could use Guild Initative Hall for gathering.
This and as I have said in a few other topics like this, if I rember right I think he also said that Aetherium was going to be the thing that kept smaller guilds to keep up with bigger guilds. Well this isn’t true, we have had 1500 Aetherium for over four days without being able to build or upgrade anything and we are a medium guild with a few donating guild members, I can immagine how long a small guild will sit on max capasity waiting to be able to upgrade.
The devs have every right to create a horrible game system that punishes players who want to have fun. HoT is all that.
And we have every right to tell them to ….. it.
Have been playing SWTOR’s new expansion, it’s fun. HoT isn’t.
Sorry for being offtopic now…
Good for you. Now I wonder even why you are here? I hate Swtor and I looked at my brother playing the expac and I cant say I liked it more. I am not sitting in Swtors forum spewing offtopic nonsence that that game is bad and I am now playing GW2 and it is so much better. I don’t get it…

You need to taxi to full maps with LFG. The game evenly distributes people, and then they abandon maps to move to maps with max population to make doing the meta easier.
I don’t care what you do, but if you’re interested in playing the events, that’s how you do it.
thats just kitten server design, the game should fill up maps
then people would complain that people dont organice so they will try to move to a map more organized by using
lFGtool
Edit: AAaaaand people would complain that they cant join the same server as their whole guild even more.
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
I don’t like the ‘I am leaving posts’ but this really in some way isn’t that… But you even say that you are not leaving for good and I guess you are not leaving for good becouse GW2 is so darn good.
Anyway, I don’t agree with most of your points but it was a good post.
I always find people on the maps I am playing and if I want to do tier 4 metas I go to LFG as Fluffball.8307 said but if I am just doing events and looking for HP and MP I stay on the map I start on and I always see alot of players but they are not as dedicated to do Tier 4 metas though but the maps are not anyway near empty.
The new reward system I like alot there is just one gripe I have and that is some events like rescue the scattered out people… Sometimes I rescue like a big amount of them but there is one left and as I am to help the one is allready helped so we escort him back. While doing that the game says I am inactive on that event (Becouse no fights happen) and I loose my bonus for it.
I have no problems with HP, if there is no one on the maps to help me I always ask my Guild. When the expac started ofc everyone was doing HP’s but now less people are doing them but it is an MMO and there are not few people on the map, if it was you would have been asked to change layer. I beleave that it might be easier to get help when more people learn how to get to the HP’s but also some HPs atleast in Verdant Brink pretty much needs that the helecopters are up, so when you ask for help at an HP look so that the helecopters are up before you complain that no one helps you.
I run a Knight Scrapper and I have no problems at all walking through the HoT expansion, I actually get more problems running through it. Maby you should change your build and try something else if you find it too hard?
So why are you playing the game? To enjoy it or to farm gold to aquire some fluff? If you just enjoy the game you will eventually have your gold that you so desire.
This is just my side of the coin.

I understand the need for this gate – I do not understand why they “lied” and said that their raids will have no gates.
Please I am just curious, where did they say this and exactly what did they say… Some people have a tendency to misinterpret what they actually say.
It is clearly gated behind masteries but I don’t realy see it that way as Raid content is something to do after Story and to do story you need those masteries that you abvously need for the raid.
Edit: What I mean is that even if they didn’t gate it behind masteries they would still have lied as Raid content is gated by level wich you normally gain by doing Story and other content of the game.

Try new builds and new stat combos before you complain about the defficulty, HoT pleased me with content that isn’t just Zerkable 1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111. WHAT!!! Are you telling me I have to level my character to Level 80 before I can do Raids!? This is ABSURD!!! Everything in this game is gated behind Exp gain! I can’t do anything whithout having to level to get to the higher level maps, doing dungeons, fractals and the story, this is totally wrong! O’brien never said it wouldn’t fall in to this! Oh the horror! This is an MMORPG not a Korean grinder! There is no MMORPG in the world where you have to grind so much as you have to in GW2, they have totally ruined the game for me! Buuuuhuuuu!!! I havent even seen what I need for raids but I have heard I need Gliding and stuff do do raids but I don’t like to do Maguuma content so I can’t level my masteries!!! This is so WRONG!!!
…. … … … Get real please… Atleast I am happy that I have to play the game a little before I get the new stuff, why should we be handed everything from the beginning? There is a difference in progress and grind.

I hope the devs don’t waste their precious time on sab. There are important things to work on.
I think that is just what they do, but…
I hope the devs invest their precious time on sab. I beleave SAB can be good for the future of GW2, release SAB with or just right before a Major content update to pull in old players so that they will notice the new neat changes and they will se how good GW2 is now.
Though about what OP says, the folks you heard talking I think they where just wishing that SAB would come back soon, after this Expac and now they are working on LW content again and alot of bug fixes and … Well there is so much more GW2 stuff that has to be done so I doubt SAB will be back in the nearest future.

So i just log in to my account then I got a message from GM En Lumene.
Saying
“we are sorry to inform you that your log in accout will be shut down or partially limited to 72 hours due to currency transaction” then gave me a link that my antivirus blocks because its suspicious.
This is frustating.
People actually fall for this still?
Wow…..go change your password NOW dude.
There is a reason why these mails are still comming. I don’t get it why people go through the whole trouble of manually copying the URL but disregards to the warning message in the mail. When and if ever Anet would post me an URL link that I should click they would make it clickable as it says I have to click on the URL :P That message that they send is more or less a copy paste that they use in all MMO’s and some MMO’s you can actually click the link.
My girlfriend got a mail (Not ingame) a few weeks ago claiming that her GW2 account was in trouble and in the end of the mail it had Blizzard information and websites :P They forgot to change everything in their copy paste

The majority who did regret pre-purchase will never admit it or post it.
Who likes to admit they got hustled in a public format?
Who says they have been hustled? Some people just realize that it was a bad choice, not blaming Anet for anything but that they just feel like this expansion didn’t give them what they hoped for.
Those who feel that they have been hustled by Anet havent just paid atention and want to blame their mistake on someone else then themselfes.
If infact they have been hustled and are so sure about it I would advice them to sue Anet as evidence should be all over the internet.
