“But… but… I want a horse!”

No. There’s no more horses. Charr ate them all.

Well with the amount of Mount threads there is, the number of dead horse beating can result to a lower number of horses too. As dead will decay after a while there would be a need for new dead horses atleast for every other mount thread that gets posted.

And as for the topic I have allready posted my opinion in the merged thread enough of times.

k i will edit the attachment just for you so you can see the real intention of my thread.

It’s more for your sake so you will not get reported…

Also as posts like this is not allowed it will probably be deleated and tossed away to a dark room somewhere in a very empty oblivion.

These things are to be reported and complaining about it on forums does nothing.

and also this has nothing to do with f2p.

i don’t know, i earn some bloom and the daily, i will try some more later, cause i needed a break anyways, but still have as you said 3 days, i feel no need to rush to get all the prizes.

Smart kid… oO! You feel no need to rush to get all prizes? If you would have checked ingame, you WON’T even get ONE prize during event time! So basically you are happy to pay WP costs, getting NO loot at and its fine…

So far I earned about 10 gold coins during the 3 events. Killing the normal mobs, and colelcting nods and doing events, and getting the event token, it been pretty good and still have till monday to contiune the fun.

I admit I not seen to many events, but this one does not feel bad. It hard to tell if you guys want easier for rewards or harder to be truthful, but maybe it not as bad as your making it out and saying everyone should hate it.

Wtf? Are you just trolling? You made 10 gold? Well 100% not from this event, probably you did the normal events which have nothing todo with this mordrem event. Mordrem event doesn’t give you gold!
And on further note, who cares about gold? The problem is that you won’t get ANY loot because it is IMPOSSIBLE to get enough blossoms during the whole event duration!

Please stop writing such —-—. Fact is you can’t get 250 blossoms even if you play 24h each day during this event!

i am up to 100 bloom i believe more or less from yesterday and today. and if you read my post, i said the money earn while doing the event from the normal mods in the area and collecting from the nodes. Gold is important to me, you never know when you might need to buy something. Yes, the big jump from daily, but that still counts, and i be able to earn more later, after a little sleep. At least then, my friends be up so we can play more, I work night and they needed sleep, hehe

yaya 10 gold only from mats and events in this areas in 3 *30 min AND enough time to do enough modrem special events all. sure !

you have to be an magician …. keep on…..

I guess he/she means that he/she does some regular events between the attacks. Maby going to SW until the next attack. 10g sounds pretty much though.

But this is not ok either! We lose all of our previous earned things and it is not a reliable way to solve this issue. Still, if there is no other way I might as well do that. I value money more than in game achievements!

This is exactly why you should be happy with what you have payed for.
If you think that it is unfair maby you can give your account back to Anet and they will terminate it and you get the money you bought it for. Now you can buy the expansion and get the core game and you can play it all and you will be like everyone who NOW are free to play and then buys the expansion, they will have nothing of the stuff you have gotten through Season 1 and during special events. You have probably bought stuff for gems that are no longer in the Store and a lot more stuff.

I have played GW2 since 3 days headstart, I have played GW1 before that and in my opinion I have gotten my money worth the first month from playing GW2. I know or should I say knew a few free to play players and a week later they have the expansion and are preparing for the expansion.

And people saying bots and spam and yadayada will/is toxifying the game are wrong. It’s been free to play now for a few weeks and I havent seen an increase of bots or goldspammers or anything bad, I have seen more Guild reqruiting messages (Including mine :P) though.

My question is, what did Anet think should be a reasonable amount to get in the time of the four days? 900? Enough to get both potions, or two armor pieces? Or 450, enough for one potion and two armor pieces?

I understand not being able to get EVERYTHING. You may have a choice between the armor and the potions, since they end up being the most expensive. But to get them, is really near impossible.

I would say “increase the rewards numbers” but honestly, after the glitch before, I wouldnt want to touch that code anymore since it now works.

So suggestion 2, just lower the vendor prices.

I have just bought an PvP Arena for my guild and I have used my gold on other stuff, I have around 5 gold left. I have a busy weekend, I will be able to play for a whole day and alittle today. I doubt I will be able to get anything that’s worth it.
I was looking forward to this, expected that it would be like the scarlet invasion and well it is but reward table is stupid. I wouldn’t even call it reward as I have to Pay gold to get the “rewards”, it’s not cheap iether.

I am realy disapointed, I will try the events a few more times but if it is like people say here I am not gonna waste my time for nothing as I will iether not get enough blooms or I will not have enough gold.

So a thumbs down from me this time at the moment.
- Bad way of giving… eh I mean let you buy rewards.
- Not much of a story (I really do like story more than rewards).

I though wanna point out some good stuff.
The events are totaly fine, I like the catapult one and destroying the vines. The one where you have to kill enemies to pick up bombs to throw at the vines seems to complex for a big portion of the playerbase but it is also good as this makes atleast some people think more that just ‘kill kill kill kill kill kill’ … But it is mostly about that anyway.

Why excited for Gliding but not UnderWater?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

EdgarMTanaka.7291

Okay, a lot of people don’t like underwater content. But how about boats? Boat crafting, pirate ship battles, racing tracks, islands full of jumping puzzles …
Add to that underwater content that’s not about pvp and everyone should be fine.

Boats could be added to the existing areas because they’re basically flying carpets that are restricted to water surfaces.

Not gonna say not to this but it realy has to be well made to be fun and balanced it might be nice. Maby we will se this when we are about to fight Bubbles.

Why excited for Gliding but not UnderWater?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: EdgarMTanaka.7291

EdgarMTanaka.7291

Why are so many people excited for gliding but so many are turned off by underwater?

-Both are 3rd spaces you can move in.
-Gliding is much more restrictive.
-Underwater has combat.

What specifically makes the gliding experience better then underwater? And no “getting to places you cant get to by walking or swimming” because that is simply by design.

Would Underwater experience have been more embraced if maps were created with more depth physically and conceptually?

I don’t spend a lot of time underwater, but I would if there was a good reason to. Perhaps I just answered my own question. So I ask this now, why are they not fixing underwater experience before moving onto above ground experience? Fall damage is more fun?

edit:
ha, fall dmg is more fun? gliding timer is more fun?
if they had added breath timer and dmg for exceeding breath timer then perhaps underwater would have been more exhilarating ! Toss in runes of breath and swimming mastery and we would be gold !

I have bolded out my biggest gripe with underwater.
Underwater feels pretty slow.

So in a more detailed explenation.
For me battle underwater is booring as skills are mostly pretty bad, traits and skills are not made for underwater combat so my build becomes crippled once I go below water. I have a hard time finding the enemies that attacks me underwater as they can be everywhere and battle underwater becomes pretty slow.

I do like underwater exploration and have no problems with that, in fact it is realy cool and I like that. If there where battle on Gliders (If that would work) I would probably have hated that too.

My opinion.

To many veterans

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: EdgarMTanaka.7291

EdgarMTanaka.7291

I do think that VB has too many Veterans placed in the travel routes. To my mind, an open world zone, outside of events, should be made up of paths and cul de sacs. The paths should be mostly “trash mobs,” enemies that are there for flavor, and to be killed, but not to present a serious challenge. You should be able to roam all over the map and never bump into an enemy that is Vet+.

The Vets should be in cul de sacs, dead end areas off to the sides of the through-routes, areas that are intended to provide a challenge for those seeking it. These can be the tricky encounters that can push your actual combat skills and take a while, and can get in the way of finding a Mastery, or a good harvesting node, or a mini-chest or whatever.

The reason this should be the case is that if you want to travel, you want to travel, and having serious threats in your path is more of a nuisance than anything else. And no, these new zones should not be “endgame content” in the sense that ever step is meant to be a challenge, these are the new roaming maps, and should not be of significantly more challenge than any of the other content, outside of the way events function, and some of these specific cul de sac challenge areas.

A good example of this done right is the Coaxtl village in the most recent beta, one where it’s impossible to get to without using a mushroom or gliding into it from above, and every enemy in there is a Vet. I’m not sure why you’d want to go there, maybe they’ll put something in there at some point, but there’s really no point to it unless you do want to fight a bunch of tough guys, and you don’t need to go through there to get anywhere.

Agree with you about how it should work but… At the moment in the betas there have seemed to be more than one route to the next map. I treversed through the whole map with all classes I tried and even with my Zerker Thief.

I ran in to a few Veterans during my times but most of them was just one veteran per enemy patrol. When there where more veterans it was events around and or as you said some special locations like the village filled with Veteran Hyleks or on the first beta map there was a village filled with veteran Spiders.

I like it better like this, in SW for example there are few veterans but some enemies are strong like veterans or worse but they don’t have any Veteran tag.

If you can’t handle them then step up your game and find a build and tactic to fight them. That’s what makes most content in this game easy, we find a way to beat it easy. Let’s not complain about the difficulty before the game is released, give it a chance so we don’t just rush trough the game with Zerker gear and complain that there is nothing left to do in the game and it had only one hour content.

I don’t mind hard content as far as it is permanent, it was different when they made the temporary Aetherblade hidout wich was realy nice and good difficulty but a week was not enough for me and my friends to master the dungeon sadly.
Why did I bring that up? Well all I wanted to say, this content is here to stay, it won’t go away so take your time and master it instead of wasting time on forums and try to make it too easy.

Guild Message of The Day

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: EdgarMTanaka.7291

EdgarMTanaka.7291

No thanks, I dont need to be bombarded with guild information every time I log on. If I am interested in the guild information pop open your guild tab.

It’s not like you get bombed.

Regular Guild invitation messages that pops up on the map chat, People calling events, people asking for help and random discussions on the chat is what will bombard your chat.

This message will pop up once everytime when you log in with a character and maby also when the Message of the day is updated. Is that Bombarded?

Yes it is, Every time I switch a character another window to close. Every time I log in another window to close. If you want to see your guilds message of the day press G, it isn’t that hard. I don’t understand how pressing one key to look at MOTD without removing choice of not looking at it 50 times a day from other players is hard.

Lol… I am sorry but the message should not pop up as a window XD We where speaking about how it works in other MMO’s and if I remember correct it’s in GW1 too.

To the point, the message is displayed in the chat window just like someone have wrote something in the chat to you as you where logging in. No extra window that you have click on for it to vanish. It is just a simple chat message where it says for example ‘Message of the day: Good day guild, today we will have a blast doing raids at 1800!’

Edit: What poster above me said and shows very well too

Also as a Guild leader of a big guild I would like to see when guild members logs in. At the moment my friend list is filled with guild members just so I can see when they log in. I would like to have my friend list for my friends only not fill it with everyone just to see that they log online.

Sad Trinity is Sad

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: EdgarMTanaka.7291

EdgarMTanaka.7291

I don’t understand what some people say…

No Trinity = No teamwork, there is no teamwork in GW2…. Well that is a false statement.

What makes a team in PvP better than another team? Is it pre luck or is it teamwork? …It is teamwork no? But if some say that there is no teamwork in GW2… Oh yea thats PvP.

It still implies in PvE. The dungeons whe have at the moment are too easy, we have learned how to beat them at the best way, some even stack at gliched places and so on. But let’s take Teq for example, what if a team of pleyers decided to troll and controll the turrets and don’t shoot at Teq, what would hapen then? Can you as a single player like so many says ‘In GW2 it’s only you, a solo player’ defeat Teq without a team shooting Teq with the turrets? Now let’s talk about Clockheart, the perpose of this fight is to have the holograms close to it and then blast them before he charges his attack. I dunno how people fight this guy now but maby just DPS it before that happens or something. But its mechanics is that you have to blast holograms near him so his super attack needs to be recharged, and if players are far away from it, it will start to throw cogs at the one far away and if a player is downed it usually throws cogs at that one to.

To beat Clockheart we would need teamwork, if someone is downed it is good to have a necro who can teleport downed players to them or a warrior prepared with a banner or other stuff, someone needs to pull iether clockheart or Holograms to the holograms can be blasted near clockheart and so on.

In short, there is teamwork in GW2 but just becouse people have learned how to Zerk through most of the content in easiest way possible is another problem and that is becouse the content is to easy. But as we have seen in HoT beta is that the content isn’t very Zerker friendly at the moment.

Damage is Too High...

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: EdgarMTanaka.7291

EdgarMTanaka.7291

I tried a thief now During BWE2 and I had a hard time surviving since I had Zerker stats… I then figured I would change alittle so I went with Valkyrie stats I think, sure I didn’t kill the enemies as fast but I did survive and killed the enemies before they killed me. The only think that could give me problems was when I fought multiple Vet’s and when I didn’t see a sniper that almost killed me with one shot. In my opinion Stats do alot of difference but even if you are much more sturdier you still can’t just run in to a mob of enemies and wack ’em, you still have to plan your dodges, evades, blocks and movement.

The new map is difficult but I hope nothing will change with that. I am sure that there will be alot of Whine posts from ?MetaZerkers on forums when the Expac goes live.

? = IMO MetaZerkers are players who go Zerker becouse it is said to be the only viable stats becouse you kill everything before you die, they only stackrez and never learns how to time dodges/blocks/Evades and so on. The people who claims that GW2 is easy and you only auto-attack everything (11111111111). So if you are a Zerker who do survive and can dodge evade and yadayada then you shall not be offended.

For me I was playing LoTRO and was okay with that, I told my Girlfriend that I don’t want GW2 becouse it is so darn good so I will quit LoTRO (I said this before GW2 was released)… Then my Girlfriend bought it for me at the three days headstart and I was trapped and I quit playing LoTRO. It wasn’t until alot later I heard about Angry Joe’s review and I saluted him for that.

But it’s alittle sad that Angry Joe isn’t playing the game anymore but I also can understand as he is doing reviews on other games it’s hard to find time for just one game.

I mean if BWE would have started earlier it would have started During Working hours on Friday and ended before monday. Now it starts almost right after working hours atleast it’s enough to get home and get stuff done and then I am ready for BWE. On monday I even get the chance to play alittle more when I get home.

My GF works on weekends, should she complain that the beta is at weekends when she works? No. As some have said, there will be always someone hit by what time the BWE starts. Also it is only a few hours, you need to eat, sleep and stretch your legs even during a BWE.

Lets say that they say it will release early but at release time there are some problems so they have to delay it with 8 hours… You took the day of for nothing, instead you will waste your precious time sitting on the forums complaining at the devs for not keeping their promise. One can never know, so I would guess Anet will do just as they do with every update. Somewhere around “that time at that day”.

Hopefully gear inspect and dps meter with HOT

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: EdgarMTanaka.7291

EdgarMTanaka.7291

Especially given the new Raids. i want to be able to make sure I’m bringing decently geared and specced people. If I don’t like the build, I want them out of the group. Same deal if your dps is not cutting it. With raids and legendary rewards, group leaders need to be able to cut the dead wood or weak links.

I hope Anet updates the UI and gives us these much desired and demanded features.

Laughed my kitten off.

>Implying someone with full DPS ascended gear means they’ll be a decent team player in a raid

You might as well ask Anet for “IRL people-inspects so that we can read their mind to see how good a player they are”. Because the likelihood of getting either would be the same.

These are the rules for my raid. If you do not meet them, then you can’t join us, sorry. Hopefully you can find another group to carry you.

LOL

Good luck enforcing those rules when Anet don’t give you gear inspects

People will still be required to ping gear and state their builds until Anet gives us a more convenient and needed alternative. The players are crying out for this. My Elite group won’t waste time carrying people who won’t listen or stray from the orders.

Sorry, but you can’t come along until u prove urself. Not wasting time on scrubs and people who stand in aoe.

By pinging gear wont prove how good or bad a player is. Most player who are bad are actually just following recent metas and do not bother to learn how to play better than just zerker and stack. That’s what is most important to most at the moment, not how they play.

DPS meeter is just stupid. What’s so funny is that people had problems with dungeons the first few weeks or even months in GW2 and was saying DPS was the problems in the teams and that they wanted DPS meeter for just exactly the same reaseon.

I can do all dungeons in this game without any specific group combination or stats as long as their level and EQ is at level or over. Well I can imagine some Dungeons would be alot slower with a PVT only group but it is still possible.

“Play how you want” Well ofcourse you cant play how you want when doing this new raid and I am pretty sure that you can Play how you want in a dungeon iether. Like someone who tries to build a house inside a dungeon wont be to much help to the group. But having the stats of your own desire would and should not impact on if you can compleate the dungeon or not. What matters is your placement, timing, pushing buttons at right times, doing jumping puzzles without falling, being coordinated to do all things with timing and precision that is content that a PUG can not tackle.

So in short, I love playing my Carrion Engineer and I will not change my build just becouse someone says I have to and I don’t think Anet meant for that iether.
So now I will await the day I can play Raid before I say anything more but a DPS-meeter is not needed as Devs have even said it is not something for PUGs.

The Dragonhunter hunts the dragon. This is how anet get the name.
So when all the dragons die, Dragonhunter will just slack in one corner and play with their fingers. =)

This has been discussed over and over realy but… Dragon hunter does not only hunt dragons they also hunt what comes from the dragons so there is more than just dragons that they hunt. Second when Dragons are no more (If that would ever be) there is no more need for Dragonhunters and well they may as well be called dragonhunters becouse that is what they where or maby they find another Specialization :P

Has anyone yet realized the only reason we’re complaining about the spec names is that we’re not distracted enough by actually playing the spec to not care?

Like, when was the last time you complained about trait or skill names? You didn’t, because you didn’t care what they were called when you could just click the button and see how awesome or useless they were.

Once HoT releases, nobody will care what they’re called.

Depends on where you wanna be mobile… I mean I find mesmer having most problems with Swiftness but they have alot of Stunbreaks and Blinks wich let’s mesmers being on the move pretty much.

Necroes have a few more speed choices but not many and they have very few stunbreaks.

I would say these two are the lowest in mobility.

When HoT releases will you be able to play it at lvl 80, when you do personal story or when you complete all of Season 2? Or will it be all of the above?

As soon as you hit level 80 you will be able to play any Season 2 episode and what comes after (That is The expansion), if you have bought them that is.

So like it would be realy bad against players who buy HoT now they will have HoT but cant play it becouse they havent bought the Season two episodes :P Nah, you will be able to play HoT as soon as you are level 80 as then you will Unlock the first story for the Expansion that will take you to Verdant Brink.

This is no Fact though. I have no source.

go there first and you will get what you want

Nice Warning. I went to GW2 wiki and looked what colours they had and then looked at the colours on my character through Trading Post

I am always being cautious with stuff like this, but sometimes you make mistakes… Like I got myself a Heavy Ascended armor instead of a medium from an Ascended chest I got from PvP.

I think the names is good. I was against Tempest though, when I heard some Guildmates say this i was like ‘yea, pshh… That’s just a stupid name people on the forums wants)’. I sulked for 2 seconds when I heard it realy was Tempest.

In my opinion Dragon Hunter is pretty fitting name and well not the best but it is far more better that most stupid names this Community had come up with like Crusader. Why do everyone think that Guardian is a holy knight fighting for gods honour and yadayada?

Despite what ‘everyone’ wants, I for one was perfectly content for Thief rifle to come with zero weapon stealth and be built as a pressure weapon rather than a superburst sniper stick. Some of my own conceptualizations for rifle actually ran along the lines of the datamined Pulmonary Impact – very low-damage attacks which stacked delayed-hit payoffs that allowed players in PvP to try and work around the issue. Picture something a bit like Halo’s Needler – you’d have to hit the enemy multiple times in order for your primary payoff to trigger.

That would have been interesting. The datamined Daredevil staff is, as I’ve suspected ever since the subject came up, pretty much just a pale not-replacement for Sword/*, with one extra mobility skill that, in my mind, doesn’t even remotely make up for the loss of /D or /P.

Oh well. The rest of the spec looks like it could be a lot of fun – I’ll just be using it with my typical S/P and not its native staff.

It’s just from the viewers mind. As I said before, I can’t come up with any good reasons for thief to have a rifle but I can realy see alot of skills being usefull with the Staff. This is due to I have immagined Thief with a staff and can immagine a whole new playstyle with that but on the other hand a Rifle for Thief in my point of view is totaly bizzare so I can’t come up with any good playstyle with Rifle for thief. It’s like my mind just don’t want to see it becouse I don’t like the idea. Sadly very few has given us what would be a good playstyle with rifle accept for this sniper, you though actually gave a good skill for it and I hope for your sake that this could be the Second Elite specialization for thief in the future.

why staff for thief

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

There is a whole topic about this allready.

First of all, who has said that it’s an Assasin? Most say that the specialization name is “Daredevil”, now that doesn’t say much but I would just say it could be a Martial Artist and Bo is a Martial Arts weapon, I would be suprised if this specialization would be centered around Stealth. I think this Specialization is more about fast hitting mobile knockback, stun and raw damage up front. As I have said in other posts Thief is the best class suited for this Specialization.

Then you say Assasins do not use Bo, well tell me an Assasin who would wield a Rifle, Greatsword, Hammer, Shield, Warhorn and Torch. I can actually see a Mythical Shinobi use Scepter and Focus. But hey, nothing is impossible in Fantasies.

Buncha snipped hooey

Here’s the thing, though: the Warrior’s rifle sucks. Hard.

People who wanted a rifle Thief elite spec were pretty much hoping and praying that it would be the one and only class in the game that used the rifle LIKE A RIFLE (a.k.a. not the Engineer, which uses it as a weird, unintuitive and largely pointless gadgetstick not entirely unlike a techno-staff) and in a way which WASN’T WORTHLESS (a.k.a. not the Warrior’s low-damage, low-impact, null-utility, completely traitless junk-gun).

You can sass people who wanted a rifle all you like, but fans of rifles/the predator literally have nowhere to go if they want a powerful rifle build. Staff guys?

Elementalist’s staff is its best option outside PvP. Necrostaff is usable utility. Mesmer staff is quirky, but still has support and a playstyle it can use. Guardstaff is admittedly weak, but no weaker than Engineer or Warrior rifle. As for this ‘Daredevil’ and the Druid, we don’t know – but the point remains.

Don’t sass folks who were hoping for rifle. There’s just as many Good Reasons for it as there are for the staff guys.

First you say I can Sass how much I want, and then you say I am not allowed to sass. Mmmhmm… Well thats how I speak and I may have a demoralizing way of putting things but it is not with purpose I just don’t try to be that way. Atleast I am not offencive.

Also I didn’t Sass becouse someone supported Rifle, I was a little rude becouse someone said Warriors are no snipers while in my opinion they are the closest to sniper as they have a snipe skill though it is not named Snipe.

And talking about being rude, thank you for Quoting my post as a ‘bunch of hooey’.

Eh? Why does it matter that Warriors Rifle sucks? It still is the class who has rifle and can snipe why should Thief have it too and also it seems you want it to be better that Warriors Rifle too, why? Why not tell Anet that you want Rifle to be alittle more useable for warriors?

I also said in my post that I only state my opinion and others are allowed to have theirs though I still stand to my opinion that Rifle does not fit well as a Stealthy, Silent and Aguile class. I can’t in any way figure out what skills a Thief would have with a rifle that doesn’t allready exists.

But with a staff on the other hand when it is used like a whole different way than the casters. The staff is almost like a new weapon just like with Revenant. I am also interested in seeing what will happen to Steal or what will happen at all.

(And to another poster out there, I don’t know if it was directed at me though but no Bo staff is not an Assasin weapon it is an Martial Arts weapon but it is a light long range weapon that is realy quick and realy fits the most quick and Aguile class in the game. Have you played as a Bo wielder in Soul Calibur?)

So in short, I write that I disagree with some people in this case becouse they tell Anet they did a poor choice for theif. I do that becouse I, just like everyone else has the right to show what I think of this.

First off, warrior isn’t a sniper. Stop saying that. Secondly, a thief isnt a ninja, and doesn’t fight in the same way. Now, I agree that a ninja could be a viable elite spec as it fundamentally changed the way the class plays(in theory at least), but a sniper is no less of an option for the same reason.

I play thief, and I would love a sniper. Stop using the same reasons to reject rifle, that you are using to defend staff.

Oh I am sorry I called the warrior as a sniper… But there is a skill with the warrior that is a Snipe skill and it name is Kill Shot so play a warrior and go do Kill Shot and wham there you have your sniper. Anyway… The Sniper thing was something I pulled out from the clouds it isn’t something anyone have said what I know of… It’s just the only stealthy thing I can come up with with a Rifle.

Now saying Thief is not an assasin is pretty BS as the thief is pretty much based on the assasin class from GW1 it is just a name but the skillsets are the same and as I said thief is the most stealthy and nimble class as thus makes it most perfect as a Bo staff wielding martial artist.

I am not saying you are not allowed to think that Thief would be perfect with rifle, I may have not been clear but I mean that I(As in me and this means my opinion) don’t think that Rifle suits niether a Ninja, Assasin, Thief, Burlgar, a Hitman or any other silent and aguile classes.

A commando on the other hand, someone who is trained to snipe and withstand alot in closecombat could use a rifle but suits Warrior alot better and… Hey whatta you know Warriors allready got a one shot sniper skill with a range of 1500! And NPC’s wich are classed as snipers use this kinda skill.

I don’t see how people say that staff is not a weapon for Thiefs Elite Specialization?

The most Aguile class in the game is Thief and the picture shows the “Daredevil” in a Ninja/Assasin outfit and the staff/Bo is a typhical Japanese Martial Arts weapon.
I so much realy likes this idea and can maby make Thief alot more interesting for me, but we will see in the end of this week.

Some people would have wanted a Rifle. That is realy one of the worst Aguile, stealthy and light weapons to choose from while though Hammer would be even worse. Rifles are very noisy and they are heavy… Also Warriors are already the Snipers so why in the world should a thief have a Rifle?

Well as soon as I noticed what we got from 3rd year I suspected posts like this would show up.

What I can say is, you had the colour when you bought it those who choose it from the precent have it now but you still had it before that.

Next thing and this is purely in my opinion. That colour is pretty ugly and won’t fit any of my characters so I would have never bought it and I won’t choose it from my precent iether. If I would have got it before I would have sold it.

And next, it was your choice to buy it. This is an MMO, an ever growing game where things change very often and you can rarely know when you do a good deal.

Last but not least, when you get your 3rd years precent you can buy another colour that is almost as expencive if you want… There is one for around 900g so then you will own 2 dyes worth more that 899g each! Yay! …At the moment…

Guild Wars 2 HoT Release Date? [merged]

HOT is also base on GW2 right? whats different? new map? new enemy? etc. this all happen on CoD and AC. and dont forgot HOT only about 20% ~30% size of CoD and AC.. is only and expansion.

Umm… GW2 is GW2, CoD is CoD and AC is AC… 3 totally different games wich you should not (in my opinion) compare with. And also these games are more popular and has a bigger demand and a bigger company, for them bringing out new stuff ASAP is more important than having a game crafted by their playerbase. Probably for games like AC it’s probably not even the same team working on the games, the “big” names are there though. Look how many complaints AC gets for every new release, they are getting worse for each release if you listen to the reviews.

GW2:HoT at the moment has a base concept but now it seems that Anet are focusing on leting us players try out small parts of the expansion to handcraft it carefully after our demands and wishes so the game will be as near as perfect for us players as possible. They have no announced deadline so they don’t have to force the expansion on the market before it is finnished.

No… It’s very boring. If you like running around and exploring the game it at least offers that. However this game has atrocious game mechanics when it comes to fighting. It’s extremely boring to look at the skills you employ.

To OP I just want to say before you listen to this one you better look at his post history.

But even so it sounds like the game isn’t something for niether you or Davidkevin and don’t force yourselfes to like it. The game is what it is, if you allready own it it won’t cost you much to install it and try for yourself. If you still don’t like it leave it for another while. Just remember that this is GW2 and not WoW or any other game and please don’t try to make it in to any other game, becouse in my case I left other games becouse GW2 was so fantastic for me.

Eh…? What game are you talking about? Last time I checked the first specialization slot unlocks at level 21 and the last Specialization slot was unlocked at level 71. Without doing any Hero point challanges it may require you to level to level 80 before you can maximize your character.

Incoming Mentor Track

My guild uses different coloured Commander Tags while doing Guild Missions. I bought my commander Tag mostly to be able to lead my Guild when we are playing PvE. I have used it in SilverWastes as it is a really good way to see what keep you are protecting. Removing commander tag from PvE would be realy bad. Also I am one of those who realy likes to help people so I am probably going to go for Pact Commander first.

I am going to add a suggestion with this Mentor thing: I would like players to be able to ‘/ratementor “PlayerName” #’ to give a + to a mentor (But only once ever).
The more + the mentor gets the more the mentors star shines, this star will fade alittle each day so the mentor will need to get more + from new players to make it shine again. This does nothing special more than a shining star at the map and players will see that this mentor is actually helping. Well the propability that the pleyer is helpfull is higher atleast.

NOOO!!! Don’t nerf them! I think they are fine as they are. So many Zerker players who can’t play zerker complaining. It’s about time that there are some content in PvE where you can’t go zerker and just roflstomp the whole world. Time for some players to learn to play.

Doesn’t matter the gear from my experience. Zerker or not, if you have more than one sniper you’re going to have a bad time if you’re alone. Surprisingly, though, they die the fastest to my zerker reaper staff w/wells.

It hardly matters. Snipers deal so much freaking damage, a duo or trio of them are able to down a tank in just 2- 3 secs. If u’re caught off guard by a pack of snipers, you’re essentially already dead, defensive gear wouldn’t help one bit. Snipers fights are abnormally unforgiving and leave very little room for error.

Personally from my experience my Zerker Guard got downed by a Sniper in the two first hits of the rapid fire. My Necro Cleric MM Reaper mix did survive a whole attack from their rapid fire. My Cleric revenant … well Since I shielded all rapid fires I dunno.

Snipers seems to be a mix of Warriors and rangers, they have Snipe and Rapid fire what I know of and they tend to dodge Knockbacks. Snipe gives a big nice target over your head, dodge, evade or block it and you are fine but ye that skill one-shots you but it is such an easy tell. Rapid fire is both hard to dodge, Evade and block but it won’t kill you if you play your cards right. Now if you have managed to do some damage to the Sniper they are probably nearly dead and you can Rally on them. I think they works as intended even though I am strongly against One-shot mechanics.

Some think it says ’ where about 25 percent of the total playable space of the new maps will be available to play’ ….

So it is not 25% of the whole expansion mapwise, it is just 25% of the first map.

Why the condi hate?

in PvP

Posted by: EdgarMTanaka.7291

EdgarMTanaka.7291

On my Guardian and Engineer the only Condition builds I can’t handle is Thief’s venom thingy thing, all other condition builds is quite easy.

It may be a bad Build but I think it is good but I play an Alchemist Bomber Engineer with Carrion stats and She can heal conditions all the time and rarely conditions is the doom of her. A spite condition necromancer is no go for her but she wont loose to it, it is just that that the fight will go on forever.

My Celestial Meditation/Symbol Guardian only has two skills to remove conditions one skill removes one and the other removes them all. I plan ahead that rarely use my skills to get rid of weak conditions I mostly use them to remove strong conditions from Thiefs or Necromancers Transfer conditions. Engineers Conditions are strong but usally very short and wont kill my guardian. But conditions is the worst enemy for my Guardian non the less but my Guardian is made to kill Zerkers.

And if I get attacked by two condition builds I am mostly screwed but I would be if I ended up with two Zerkers also.

I have no gripe with Conditions, I am more against Invisible-no-tell-one-shot skills.

Just implement a downstate for the Lord, so you can rezz / rally him when sb dies.

I don’t think that is enough… In the scenario OP explained and the one I expained there where mesmers, probably with quickness wich would stomp the lord in another 1 second.

A few things I would like to add to Lord and Soldiers battle is;

  • When Lord is pulled he will start to shield himself just like the Warrior Ghosts in Aschalon does. Givning your team to react to ‘Your Lord is under attack’.
  • When one Soldier is pulled every soldier and the Lord is pulled and thus will result in a heads up ‘Your Lord is under attack’.
  • Lord will have a skill to reveal AoE once every 10-20sec.
  • Lord has the same Spinning skill as Lords in Stronghold.

Ye, in battle for Kylo I always go kill the Treb but when I play my Engineer I have to send someone else to kill the treb as my engi take the whole match to kill the treb. When I play premade team it works realy good but with randoms it’s harder to know if someone listens and obeys or even if they are strong enough to take out the treb fast and kill or Survive the Trebber.

Anyway about that I feel like that makes the teamwork aspect better, I think a Condition build shouldn’t go for the gates or Treb.

Add option to report AFK's in PVP [merged]

in PvP

Posted by: EdgarMTanaka.7291

EdgarMTanaka.7291

I don’t AFK any match except when matchmaking screws us over (Starting to afk when scoreboard looks like 400 vs 25 and my team runs around like headless chickens).

But I can sometimes understand why some people do AFK, it is not fun at all to play when there are teams who plays with unbalanced classes and builds.

I tried PvP again after a 2-3 weeks break and it was still horrible, Warriors still panic rampage kill button with quickness, 50% less damage, stability, Feel no pain and more. I didn’t meet any one-shot mesmers this few matches I played though and had no fight against an Elementalist at all. But mesmers still seems to be the FoTM class as every fight I was in there where 2 mesmers in both teams. Before I quit PvP before last patch I said ‘We have lost’ when there where 1-2 Mesmers in enemy team and no mesmer in our team and I was almost always right as very few could kill a mesmer then. I hope that has changed but that is a reason why some people AFK becouse the “know” they will loose when enemy team has a OP class and you don’t or you are matched with a totaly fresh player who don’t know the basics.

In short: I don’t like AFKers but at the moment I can understand them. What needs to be addressed in my Opinion to stop AFKers is;

  • Matchmaking needs to be looked at, something is wrong.
  • Do not mix SoloQ and TeamQ.
  • OP builds needs alot of balance. (I know this is something they work on 24/7)

About AFK people and punishment, those who AFK with purpose will find a way to “AFK” and avoid Punishment. I have seen players running in to a wall, I have seen players move an inch every now and then and I have seen players moving in to combat and just die. People who go really afk are mostly those who realy have to leave PC for some “emergency”, BIO or worse. I think punishment is good anyway but sadly most of the ones who realy deserve the punishment does iether not care or can avoid it. Thats what I think.
