A lot of people know you can forge for them using nuggets, fewer people seem to know that you can forge using 3 pebbles and 1 lump.
Another thing you could fix is making Scribes able to craft Vials of Flax Seed Oil. It currently SAYS they can, like when you view a recipe that uses them, the little magnifying glass icon to bring up a subwindow for them is there, and if you have the mats you can click craft…
…the bar progresses and the crafting sound is heard, but it doesn’t actually consume the mats and make the item.
Black Lion Trader in Guild Hall
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: ElforTheLandStander.7052
For all the talk of wanting Guild Halls to be the new hub, this needs to be a thing. Our first completed building in our hall was the Arena, and we were blown away. Not just by how grand it is, this giant pillar with a full-sized arena atop it, but with it came a new waypoint, new NPCs…
We kind of assumed that all finished buildings would have a similar increase in function when completed, and were kind of let down when they didn’t. They’re just cosmetic upgrades. I would’ve bet MONEY on Market Restoration II coming with a Black Lion Trader along with it, and it didn’t.
I’m rather hoping Workshop Restoration II comes with a full array of crafting stations other than Scribing, but…I kind of know it won’t, sigh.
I’m gonna withhold final judgement until we hit level 40 and unlock Further Exploration, and if THAT doesn’t add some new functionality to the Guild Hall I will be officially disappointed.
At least it wasn’t the day before yesterday, the last time I was able to play. My launcher is currently doing that bugged out really slow download thing, so at this rate I might not get to play until Sunday…>_>…
…but yeah. I had the trait on, but none of my healing skills showed the tooltip for removing conditions, or actually removed them. I tried unequipping and reequipping the trait line, various heal skills, no luck.
Our guild hall has Ore Synthesizer 1, Wood Synthesizer 1 and Plant Synthesizers 1. Before, there were 5 synthesizers total: 1 metal, 1 wood and 3 plants. I’m standing there right now though, and there were only 4.
I checked the patch notes to see if maybe they just decided they’d given us too many plants and decided to take one back, didn’t see anything about it. So just bugged maybe?
TL;DR
The LFG tool could use some overhaul though, for sure. One small tweak that would help a lot is to make the Open World Content section map specific. You wouldn’t need a list of all maps, just a check box for “current map only” or something.
So if you were looking for an active event SW, for instance, you wouldn’t have to wade through all the people looking for stuff in the jungle, and Orr, and of course all the nooks who post dungeon/fractal ads under Open World.
Yes especially when u talk about iron rich nodes being profitable (20s much profit rofl) Skipping in fractals is as bannable as was bugging mai trin, double damage on teq and so on. Funny because i can’t find any research on gold per hour when farming nodes. Is that 5 gph tasty? And after u do the node route what will u do for next few hours?
Uh what? Have you EVER been to a Teq? Every single map stacks in the double damage spot for burns, nobody gets banned for it.
More importantly, how the hell did they add four new stat combos and not have Apostate’s be one of them?
They scale up for each addition boost type you add to the bartender by 1%.
if your Xp boost is 3%, I’m assuming you have a t1 bar and just the xp boost. ket the karma boost, and both will be 4%, get a workshop, market, etc. and install their various moosts for mf, harvesting, crafting, etc. and each one added will increase the potency of all boosts.
I don’t know if other metrics contribute to their scaling as well. perhaps getting building to t2 also scales them up?
Ahhh, I see, thanks.
I don’t see anything down any of the Guild Hall upgrade trees about increasing the potency of Guild Enhancements. Do they scale with your guild’s level or something?
Because the XP boost being 3% feels….REALLY underwhelming. I can’t imagine it’s meant to be capped there forever, right?
….right..?
I’m the leader of a rather large guild and I rep that 24/7, but with the new all guild chat thing…was rather hoping I could get into a Fractal-heavy guild, so I’d have people to poke on days when LFG is running slow.
When I heard months ago that there were to be new Legendaries with the release of HoT, I got right to work. Figured I’d get the universal components together ahead of time, work on the Legendary-specific components once I found a new one I liked.
…aaaaaaand the new batch won’t be using either of these expensive, account bound items as part of the recipe. After debating between crying and punching a wall, I decided on just cold, seething rage. Just logged in and sold them in tense silence.
I already have my Juggernaut, I don’t particularly want any of the other original Legendaries, so…now I’ve got 2 more free bank slots and I’m 12 silver 80 copper richer. So that’s something, right?
slaps hand no! bad! the legendaries are still baking in the oven!
But I want ’em nooOOoooOoOOoooowwww….!
C’mooooooon, give us a peek already. I’m chomping at the freaking bit here. Even if only 3 will be like, fully finished and implemented in-game by the time HoT launches, you guys have to have done SOME work on the others. Concept art, somethin’.
I’ve got Gifts of Fortune and Mastery sitting in my bank just waiting to see which of the new ones most strikes my fantasy, don’t make me wait until HoT and then like a full year or more after that as you dole the rest of the new batch out piecemeal. ;_; Pretty please?
I’m worried if I end up really liking one of the first three, and I make it, 6 months later one of the other new ones will come out and I’ll like it way more and wish I’d waited, and have to start all over again.

Autocrossbow kit for power engis, please.
You need to do the 100G/250 ectos one, it’s the most risk but also the most reward potential because of the Orbs of Crystallized Plasma. And you need to go about it sensibly. Doing things like setting a limit, like if I go below X amount of gold I walk away…and if you know yourself well enough to know you don’t have the willpower to stop, give that gold to a trusted friend to hang onto for you.
You should also obviously only do it when you’re relatively well-off to begin with, and one loss won’t wipe you out completely. If you’ve only GOT like 150G and 260 ectos, and you lose once and are left without the means to roll again, you’re pretty well screwed. I only gamble occasionally when I have 500 or more ectos and 600 or 700G.
I’ve had one or two scary moments where I was down to like 300G(my cutoff point) but way up in ectos, managed to TP enough of those to get back into it and come out ahead. Usually slightly ahead in gold and ectos…though once I got the 5 orbs, and came out with a net gain of like 300G.
I actually did it a little the other day for ectos rather than gold, because I’ve got some upcoming stuff I’m doing that’s gonna require a lot of them. 1 stack for a Gift of Fortune, and 2 stacks for a fully-upgraded Fractal Capacitor. I came out of it with a little over 750 ectos and slightly ahead(like 20 I think, can’t recall for sure) in gold, walked away.
Probably won’t be doing it for quite some time, now that all my ectos are earmarked for things where I’ll actually need to use them up. Once I’ve got all that stuff done and I’m back up above 500 again, I’ll probably give it another shot. I’ve been cautious and it’s been kind to me so far.
Mystic Forge, rare reward from throwing in 4 random Pebbles, Nuggets, Marks or Copper Doubloons.
the best way IMO
You can also do 3 pebbles(t1 gemstones) and 1 lump(t3 gemstones), the forge averages that out to tier 2. So doing 3 pebbles and 1 lump is the same as doing 4 nuggets, and gives you much better odds for doubloons than 4 pebbles and relying on the promotion from pebble to nugget.
As for farming chests, it has to be on a toon who’s at least level 21, I’m not sure of the cap off the top of my head. Used to know. I wanna say it’s 31…you can definitely still get them on a 30, though. So if you wanna play it safe, keep your doubloon farming toon(s) in the 21-30 range.
Apostate needs to be a full stat combo. For those of you who don’t know, which is perfectly understandable given that it only exists as like one weird piece of jewelry and some of the non-level 80 named items with selectable stats…
Apostate = Condition Damage, Toughness, Healing Power. The exact stat combo I’ve been wanting for my necro. I’ve got him with Rabid now, and the Precision really feels like a waste with staff. No power, slow attacks anyway…it’s useless.
But I wanted Condition Damage as my primary stat, and toughness, so it was my one option. It’s really frustrating that this combination of stats exist in both other combinations, with Toughness as the primary in Settler’s or Healing as the primary in Apothecary…and there’s actually a NAME for the stat combo I want, it’s just not acquirable in any real sense.
Aside from different rod skins, there could be different lures you activate like a food buff that temporarily increase your odds of catching certain things.
Id love to see fishing added to GW2, but I really hope it’s not like WoW fishing where you just have obscene amounts of fish, I always liked the games where fishing was more of a mini game and you got less fish overall, but each fish was worth more.
IE: every 1 fish in SWG would be worth the equivalent of 20 fish in WoW.
Yeah, this. Fishing is no fun if you catch something every time but it’s generally worthless. It should be a mix of skill and luck, and every time you catch something it could be a “Yay!” feeling.
You could catch a mix of all different kinds of fish, sunken bags of coin/junk items, mobs…like, maybe you catch a krait and in turn it catches you, yanking you into the water with a pull attack. And of course, the rare chance for valuable stuff, whether it’s like a chest or a rare fish that vendors for high value.
Fishing should put you into like a vista mode, too, where mobs can’t run up behind you and knock you out of it. Only hostile catches should be able to do that.
And certain kinds of fish would be region-specific. Catch different kinds in the Shiverpeaks than you would in Ascalon, etc. And I don’t imagine ANYTHING edible would come out of Orrian waters, just loot items and enemies.
Lastly, there would of course need to be some kind of achievement with a title…which I hope to god would award you with a helmet skin that looks like one of those ugly fishing hats covered in lures.
They better not give us another useless level 20 scroll that doesn’t even stack with the previous year one.
I had this problem, of several account-bound items in my bank that wouldn’t stack with each other until someone in my guild FINALLY clued me in on how to fix it.
Some of them should say account-bound, the others should say account-bound on acquire. Put them both in your inventory and change maps. Fixed, they stack now.
Saved up and bought Collossus for my Juggernaut off the TP, my first drop was a Tooth of Frostfang from the JP chest at Morgan’s Spiral, later got a Zap after throwing many rare swords in the forge.
There really ought to be be a minimum amount by which you have to up the ante for a buy order on the TP. I haven’t been to many real-life auctions, but I’ve never seen a bidding war tediously go back and forth by one penny at a time.
If you really want an item badly enough to outdo the top bidder, you should have to commit a little more to it than 1 copper, literally the smallest unit of currency in the game.
It could be, like…a silver or .02% of the top bid, whichever is greater. That way on big items that are hundreds of gold, it would force you to bid in gold, without being completely insubstantial on smaller items. Since .02% of something that sells for like 12 silver is basically 2 copper anyway.
Or in 5, 10, 20 (double each time) and exponentially more rare.
True, hadn’t considered that.
Here’s a compromise: make a new karka mini that depicts a Young Karka, and add THAT to KQ’s loot table.
It’s kind of weird anyway that there are minis of karka hatchlings and veterans, but not the most commonly encountered kind.
In 100 tries I had 2x 5 (500g stack) and 1x 10 (1000g stack)
Interesting. Maybe it comes in multiples of 5 between 5-20?
Has anyone gotten a 15-stack to confirm the theory?
Was hoping someone who’s done a little more ecto gambling than I might be able to give me some clarification here. The wiki lists the possible drops for these as “5-20” rather than “5 or 20”, seeming to imply that anywhere between 5 and 20 are possible.
I’ve only gotten the 5, though, and a screenshot I saw of someone else getting them was the 20-stack. So is getting like 10 or 11 of these beauties possible? Or should someone edit the wiki to read “5 or 20”?
Yeah, its lenth is on par with real zweihanders.
Why don’t we hear from Mrs. Ashley Huggbees of Fullers Earth, Arizona anymore? Because I really like to say Huggbees. Go on, try it.
HUUUUUUUUUUUUGGBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
In the new spirit of “Conditions can be bursty”, can we maybe get this skill looked at? It never made sense to me before, since Bleed was already a condition that stacked intensity.
Even less so now…1 stack of bleed that lasts 60 seconds? Kind of useless. PVP enemies are gonna cleanse during that duration, and PVE are probably just gonna die from other damage long before it. I’d be happier with 3-4 stacks over like 10 seconds.
The art of removing the top of a champagne bottle with a saber is known as sabrage.
Things we know.
Any chance of us getting an Ascended Sinister amulet with a Utility slot? We’ve got Jurah’s Jewel for Offensive and Wynne’s Locket for Defensive, but…I like my +20% MF infusions on every character.
Anyone else need any of the season 2 achievements still? I’m stuck on Dancing In The Dark from Tangled Paths.
I just recently decided to start giving a crap about Luminescent Armor, when I noticed how close I was to a lot of the pieces due to just random Breach/Vinewraths. Thinking I might wanna close out the collection…but I need those ascended story trinkets.
If anyone else needs them…or, y’know, already has them and is just bored and willing to help…hit me up in-game to team up.
Yeah, I was looking for Troll’s End before..not sure how I feel about it getting replaced, I’ll have to see how cool the new one is. We should find it ASAP.
Lol. Baiting people into buying ectos. Nice try I suppose.
nope i’m quite serious…
got enough components to make a MF conduit too
lol nice try but even wiki says and i quote
Notes
The number of conduits is limited, because the only source of the components to forge one, the Mystic Chest, was removed from the game as part of the September 25, 2012 game update.so i am with a few people here this is nothing more then an ecto sink hole and a guy trying to jack up ecto prices
Didn’t dawn on you that, y’know, with the patch being like an hour old, maybe the wiki isn’t updated yet? I got a Mystic Frame, so yeah, it does drop Conduit pieces.
Are there veggies at Troll’s End again? (Grabs OP and shakes by the shoulders) TELL ME THERE ARE VEGGIES!!!
Agreed, upgrade extractors are good in theory but are a ripoff with how much they cost. Either make them like 25 gems apiece or better yet, just…remove them from the gem store and make them purchaseable with gold or something.
Why is it a rule that EVERY convenience has to be gem store exclusive?
Your opinion is noted, OP. I disagree with it, but…‘Murca. You’re entitled to it.
All of my +1 are belong to this. I really wish they hadn’t buffed the drop rate on these useless little suckers.
Here, have a reply, and i will try to summarize future replies as well…
RNG is RNG.
Omg you have one of these? #1%problems
You know, TECHNICALLY these aren’t misleading because…
Something random about how this isn’t at all related to Hot pricing.
LTP plz noob
and
Yeah, I agree, while the rewards are somewhat misleading I wish you could (insert suggestion for an improvement)
Yeah, that about covers the spread.
Many of the things purchaseable through the Karmic Converter have very dishonest descriptions. Trophy Bags, for instance. The description reads: “Contains a [Shard/Core/Lodestone]”, but they often contain a Pile of Essence instead.
Likewise, the Bag of Educational Supplies claims to contain “Scrolls and Tomes of Knowledge”, making no mention of the possibility of opening it and in fact only receiving a single Experience Booster.
I realize, of course, that like most topics I create concerning things that don’t affect the overwhelming majority of the playerbase, this will likely find itself on page 8 with 0 replies by tomorrow, but…I can’t say I didn’t try.
I kind of know what you mean. It changes colors based on the environment, but beyond that how like, “glossy” it looks depends on the lighting. There are a lot of cool colors, but it seems to have the most sheen and look the best in high-light areas like the snow of the Shiverpeaks.
While we’re on the topic, any chance I can get Carrion stat trinkets soon?
Not until I can get Apostate weapons and armor. :P
This is for weapon and armor currently – weapons use the same recipe as armor to stat change except they use inscriptions to allow you to change instead of insignias.
Alas yes it does destroy the runes and sigils in the item, the mystic forge doesn’t currently have a way to allow us to do this kind of stat changing without it working that way.
Any plans to reduce the cost of Upgrade Extractors, since there are almost no runes expensive enough to justify their cost?
That’s pretty awesome news. One thing worries me, though…will re-statting a piece of gear destroy the runes and infusions in it?
Yeah, JPs could use some love. An occasional Daily category, and maybe there finally being a Title for completing all of them?
“Those attached to specific modes of play, such as the WXP or magic find boosters, are being replaced by a new guild-effects slot that functions like food and utility effects. Once your guild unlocks them, these effects will be available from a vendor in your tavern. Each guild member can only have one effect active at a time, but they’re free to swap and effectively never expire.”
This was my biggest Yay!/Booooooo..! moment in reading this post. On the one hand, keeping guild buffs ticked every day can be kind of a pain, considering how inconsistent they are in terms of build time and duration. Some are 24 hours, some are 48, some are 3 days…it makes them very hard to synchronize, and having to re-up them becomes a multiple times a day gig.
So making them permanent is awesome, and removes a lot of that hassle…but they’re also limiting us to 1 buff at a time? Not sure it’s worth the trade-off. Pain in the butt or no, I’ve TAKEN those pains every day with my guild to keep our 5 core buffs up, and we’ve all gotten used to having MF, Karma, Crafting, Gold Find and Gathering on 24/7. Being told to just pick one to keep is kind of a kick in the balls.
Southsun Cove. WAIT, let me finish, stay your rotten fruit, I pray thee!
In my experience most people seem to either hate this place or actively avoid it, or just kind of ignore it and never go there since it isn’t required for map completion. I’m in the minority of people that love it to death, I spend time there every day.
Aside from being REALLY pretty with all the coral and the steam and the lovely beaches, there’s some really nice farming/gathering there. I usually leave with about 30 passion fruit, 3-6 passion flowers, a bunch of wood and metal, the odd foxfire, and a smattering of t6 mats. Blood, Fangs, Scales and Venom Sacs can all be reliably farmed here in a relatively small area…Claws as well, if you’re crazy enough to tango with Reef Drakes.
And there’s also the 2 JPs, each of which have a bonus mini-chest nearby.
I was in Southsun the other day, and before you ask…yes, I know about the daily limit on passiflora. This isn’t that. Well, while I’m here I may as well mention I think they should lift that.
The main point, however, is that it happened to me with saplings rather than plants. I had been gathering stuff all over the island, and I came to the steam curtain. Within range on my minimap were 3 Cypress Saplings and an Ancient Sapling. I logged one of the Cypresses, and the other 2 disappeared, though thankfully the Ancient didn’t.
Did some wires get crossed and the passiflora limit in that map is affecting other harvestables now?
