I spent what I suspect is a higher than average amount of time in-game looking at other peoples characters (I even have a folder for screenshots of ones I really like) and I get the impression that most people are genuinely trying to make their character look good.

But of course ‘good’ is subjective. 3 of my guild leaders like to make their characters as shiny as possible. But even then there’s variation, one goes for sparkles on top of an otherwise normal costume, one goes for all-out shiny (I think if she could she’d look like the ley line anomaly) and one is genuinely going for over-the-top obnoxious because he finds it amusing.

But there’s plenty of people who go the other way too and make their characters not just dark but like some kind of darkness wraith (often involving the Phantom Hood).

And people who try to make their characters blend in with the world. Sometimes to the point where I mistake them for NPCs.

Actually, it’s worse than that, you get asked each time if you really want to salvage it since it is a really important rare item. So salvaging a full stack of each should require at least 1500 clicks, IIRC.

I did my best to edit shaman’s bigger new map onto this old one from a while back that included GW2, elona, cantha, and battle isles. I did my best to line it up with the old GW2 map whoever made the original used (I’m OCD so it’s pretty good), but if anyone can do better please share! Anyway, the bigger map including modern Elona and never before seen lands to the east! I don’t know a lot about editing so it may not actually be as good as I thought :P.

BTW there’s a new boat and airship in LA though

We’ve always been told 2 things

1. Giants are mostly (99%) gone in the world.
2. EXCEPT, MAYBE, their homelands, the Blazeridge Mountains

for interesting story, there will probably be some. The only variant we know is 100% gone is Lupicus, which is technically a “great giant”. We don’t know how many kinds there are and I look forward to that xpac a LOT. Especially now that blazeridge is HUGE!

I always liked sound magic in games, and it’s sad anet has done so little with it (I guess shouts are sound magic?) How about warhorn and shouts on Mesmer? If they get that and rangers get hunter, I want dual rapid fire pistols for ele and new element

Found some djinn! There’s a bottle hero challenge that one comes out of and it talks bout magic being different and when it’s defeated it goes back in the bottle “until magic is normal”. I wonder how old is it? How long to bey live, forever? And then in the orthern edge of the beta area there’s a cliff that requires the longer raptor jump we can’t get, but I got close enough to see a lot of “fire djinn” enemies!! WHAT COULD THIS MEAN?! The hero point djinn use multiple elements but these only have one? What if weavers come from djinn magic? As I recall the first game had aodt nothing on them

What’s up with these guys in amnoon? They look TOTALLY different than what we’ve seen, and ogres aren’t native to the desert or elona. They also don’t have pets like most do. Is it possible they’re from the southern blazeridge and for some reason came a little way into the desert? But the ogres in vanilla came from blazeridge too. It’s possible there are a lot more variants. With the new map (and the event bigger one from that shaman) shows blazeridge is HUGE! I guess the bigger question is: why bring up ogres now? I can’t help but wonder where S4 or xpac 3 or S5 will go cough

You have no idea how much I’d pay for a Toph Tonic (more likely) or customization to the extent of being able to make avatar characters. Or at LEAST a spec for ele with martial arts like animations.

This is by far the best game for similarities. Some vary a bit, but they do really well

people make for prestige, very few do it for utility. If it’s not prestigious, there’s no point. Give it new (or raid ones) legendary only skins

Shatter can be killed by a Pug group, but the achievements take Triple Trouble levels of coordination. You need a Commander that knows the timing of the event, and a group specifically willing to follow instructions, and about 30 minutes prior to find people though LFG. You wait outside the map until 5-10 minutes before pre; enough time for the world boss train to start filling up. You then flood the map with your squad, and try to figure out if any of them got on a fresh or at least underpopulated IP. Then have the whole squad join on that map. Its the same technique used to organize TT and Teq maps, and will work 90% of the time.

The point is, you need to organize ahead of time, rather then try to scrape together a bunch of people at the last minute, and expect that to go smoothly.

I’ve tried it all. I orged a group that specifically said they would do breakbar and I knew the times (sometimes he didn’t do it though, they change randomly), and half of them weren’t even there

for about the 30TH time since the achievement panel in Jan 2016. Thought the daily might bring more people with brains, but still didn’t get a single breakbar done. Please fricking fix this!!!! I’ve tried all manner of organizing and people simply cannot do it.

That final state basically was buffing, while Ozai got thrashed from a distance. From what WP showed, it seems Weaver has that down perfectly.

Now I need utility skills that are acrobatic mid range – spin kick that knocks enemies back, fire in a cone in front of you like fire bending, etc

Yea was watching WP’s post show and yelled AVATAR STATE at the screen when I saw weaver elite... still there might be room in the future for a literal power that’s almost exactly like it. As I understand, weaver elite is buffing, id like to see something even closer to avatar state that deals damage

Outfits: kormir, grenth, melandru, dhuum, menzies, abaddon
Weapon sets: kormir, grenth, melandru, lyssa, dhuum, menzies
Backpieces (not the new Orr ones, specialized individual ones): abaddon, dhuum, menzies, kormir
Btw, when I say outfits I mean avatars – the outfits are of avatars of Balthazar, dwayna, etc. so there’s still a full set of outfits of the actual gods. So far we’ve only seen Balthazar though, but haven’t we seen dhuum and abaddon in the first game? So outfits of actual gods are also a thing. This is a real cash cow, there are two outfits, weapon set, glider, and backpiece for every god!

Ok so I wrote this partially in a rage (though calmed down I still think there’s a decent point), I used my own Mesmer and patience and got through. I do agree legendaries need challenge, I thought at the time that the hardest JP wasn’t good but I suppose it works

well… wow.. I gave it one last shot after this and I MADE IT! So the lesson here is whining on the forums solves the problem! :P :P

This IS NOT OK to use in the new legendary trinket collection. You CANNOT require people to do something that is intentionally designed to be painful and the hardest thing in the game. It was specifically designed ONLY for the absolute top JP players, and yet now you require it of anyone. That would be acceptable if you allowed teleport to friends to work, or for people to get portaled through. But, you need CHECKPOINTS. Crappy as a crap pile, but ok, it is a legendary collection after all. BUT WAIT! The checkpoints DON’T WORK! I am 100% certain twenty times over that I DID NOT MISS a checkpoint, yet the next one I reach refuses to unlock. then when I die, NONE of them work, even the ones that DID a minute ago! So I have to START OVER YET AGAIN. I tried teleporting to friends several times through the checkpoints, again is REFUSED to acknowledge even though I got them all in order. I tried the same with mes portals, NOPE! I spent several hours today alone trying to simply do it. NOPE! This is in no way an acceptable thing! Take it out and replace it with a boss that isn’t in the collection, like the Karka Queen.

I LOVE the legendary and even though my main can’t use it I still want to make it, BUT! I checked the collections on the wiki and it looks like an absolute CRAPLOAD of specific enemies from certain events. Which means, waiting for the single event, then struggling to pull more people together to do an event they don’t need. Then do this again and again. Between the tiers it could quite possibly be doing that 100 times!!! So I just want to know if it’s anywhere NEAR as bad as I think, or if I should go for it?
