But what does it mean? My first thought from the scene is mordremoth since it seems similar to several HoT cutscenes, but since that’s still available content it would have to be something during that time from another’s point of view? But who’s laughing all sinisterly? What villain is aware of their situation to the point they’re laughing? I mean, if you somehow realized you weren’t in reality that would be bad – unless perhaps it was a villain who knows how to get back into the world and will return or something possibly? IDK just thinking as I type. Could also be scarlet I guess, we haven’t gotten her fight

I think it’s gonna be cantha s surviving on orrr for a decade or two and we’ll meet them in the new map and get a fairly up to date update on cantha – not a return, but should help us who really want to go there feel better for a while

I imagine something like this: We’ll get a report from some Pact member, that there’s a ship that crashed on the northern coast in Orr, and a Pact squad found them and helped them build a base for the survivors. And our character may say: “Wow! Let’s go there and talk to them! And after that I may stop in Arah and try to find something about Balthazar.”

From this we may get:
- a very valuable info about Cantha (or maybe southern Elona if that ship is from there?)
- a view of (partially, I guess) cleansed Orr
- something cool in Arah that may get us info about Balthazar and lead us to Elona

Yup fantastic chance for story and helps with the adding repeatable hearts in a region where nobody lives except military forces

Well it’s not IMPOSSIBLE exactly for a river in or near Orr that we may use to be somewhat green. Also, concept art is concepty

Going back to an old map is unlikely. There should still be some part of Orr round to the east side and considering maps are stuck in time now, they could have a cleansed 4th map separate to the other 3

Wouldn’t it be cool cool if ever so often whenever it’s relevant we get another’s Orr map until by the time we have the whole region it’s got the cleansing progressing for like 10 years or something?

The ship is indeed of Canthan design, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to Cantha. At best we get to see a ship that was sent from Cantha, at worst it’s just a Zephyrite ship.

Ooh there used to be canthan refugees, but zhaitan stopped all ships passing and eventually people from cantha stopped trying which is why none have showed up since he died. But what if one that crashed somehow on the far side of Orr survived? At least a small update on cantha that could only be so many years outdated if it comes from live people

Very excited. I know cleansing may very well take decades and on top of draconian corruption there’s literal wreckage and crap from being underwater, but I’m excited to see plants here and there – also maybe a new Risen model or two? I know in the maps we got the pact has been constantly lowering their numbers, but as far as I know, nobody ever went to the other side, right? I mean after the dragon died, there’s no need – except masses of risen just hanging out killing everything

The new map is confirmed as Orr – where the new xpac will be is almost gurantwwd to be desert/elona. Not sure why yet, but cantha makes even less sense. We’ll have to wait and see, because right now the most logical guesses have all kinda been confirmed as not it

My entire plan for today was to obsess over the new trailer – I have literally nothing to do

eir adventure is also a chance to help my OCD – one less gap in the jungle, the better I’ll feel about us getting the whole map. Maybe left of DS and below AB little gap leading slightly into the ocean? Maybe we didn’t find her because mordrem remnants and their prisoners are retreating over the ocean, or a part of that giant tree had pods and it was knocked into the water – idk

Disappointed beyond words. My life has next to nothing else, I’m tired of thinking about it every day and getting excited on Mondays and Tuesday mornings only to be crushed into nothing. I thought about spending gems today, but I’m going to wait instead. At this point, or definitely if not out this next week, I will EXPECT it to be bigger/longer. I have no life, it’s hard to go through this every week. I haven’t decided if I’m going to do it this week or not, but pretty soon I’ll look for another game and come back here.. whenever.

For EP6 to release

There was no need for this – it’s a little less convoluted and feels good simply because newness, but the old version wasn’t that bad. I’d rather have had EP6 preview, I check every kittening day I have nothing else to do but play this game and spend money but STILL I don’t because I’m disappointed every single Tuesday. Please stop delaying so the gap between xpac seems smaller, nobody cares as long as it isn’t 9 months

July 18th, trailer this tuesday. I get overexcited a lot, but this is my balanced between optimistic and pessimistic opinion based on stated credence and how they kept to it. Mar my words. (Unless I’m wrong, then sweep it under the rug because I’m never wrong)

You don’t even know hoe much I want that. Not so much the combination of the three ( though if we do get duels they should get underwater version too for those that enjoy it), but just those things being added – dueling, more underwater, swimsuit/underwear sort of thing

From GW1’s ime. We discovered many Saurians in these areas during the Eye of the North campaign.

They were marketed as new when HoT came out, and Saurian wasn’t a term in the first game.

According to the forums we’ve had the following in the gems store and that def means getting the appropriate content;

- Jormag dyes – Jormag and Drakkar
- Aurene hat – Aurene
- Foefire stuff – Rytlock’s story through the mist and The Black Citadel
- Godslayer Bow – Fighting Balth or another God

I think we can discount using the gemstore as a guide for upcoming content at this point, since otherwise this episode will be bigger than the rest of the season put together and not have any time to set up the expac…

I think we can agree SOME of it is a hint. The problem is knowing what. Currently I think it’ll be jormag/norn story and Aurene. Rytlock with xpac because ascalon is close to supposed desert xpac, we can pick him up or something. And of course the god story isn’t over, but probably limited involvement in EP6

I completely agree that most gem store items mean nothing else – however, some have been subtle hints before. In my opinion, this is one of those times.

way to assume too much. there is no confirmation, youre just speculating. We’ve gotten Glint’s Winter dye kit but have never seen Glint in Game ourselves. Until it’s in the official patch notes its not ‘confirmed’. With the events of the previous chapter we could skip over Jormag entirely for now and just deal with braham since the focus has been all on Balthazar.

ATM I have 2K gems and I can’t decide whether to go for minis and keys, home instance gathering, or a mix. Or if you have anything else to suggest I’d like to hear it.

Never thought about this, but I guess the avatar theme. I mean, he controls more than one element with a wide range of skills too. No real metal or blood powers but otherwise pretty close to at least some representation of everything in avatar. I’d kill for a Bender or Avatar spec with melee and/or range skills of different elements from the hands and feet, single target, aoe, pretty much anything works but the point is not so tied to weapons. Like utility skills. Berserker and Daredevil were good in that way, I’d like an elemental version now..

This is not a suggestion for expansion 2 as it’s too late for that, just a discussion for the future – what new kinds of weapons would you want to see and on who in what playstyle? For me, I’d do these : scythe for open sweeping attacks, which may conflict with staff on some classes but would offer something new on classes who have staffs with magic. Next, great axe kinda like hammer or GS but with more cutting and spinning, faster rampant destruction. Similar enough to use halberd skins I think. Crossbow, for a more regulated and technological method of attack than bows, and you can always make more than 10 kinds of arrows (meaning a class can have longbow and short bow and still have crossbow). Vial, sorta like focus but more liquids, buffs, and inducing hallucinations, maybe even throwing it. Nunchucks, for swinging and beating rapidly at a short range. Possibly stunning too, since you’re hitting people with stick thingies. Shuriken/chakram or any kind of thing to be thrown, bouncing between enemies, surprise attacks bleeding stun etc. since anything throwable is possible som focus skins could reused, provided anet doesn’t use it as an excuse to make less skins for shurikens. Cestus as gauntlet type thing, melee plain old punching organic Infused punching as well as enhancing skills cast through the hands. Could replace/use close skins, finally explains why the flerperg there are so many more glove skins. Alternatively have no skins for it and gloves function normally, with strength of attacks determined by a regular weapon, but the weapon stays sheathed when using these skills. Or when these skills are toggled on the weapon gains the ability to be hidden. Lastly, I want classes with two swords to get an option to wield ONE REGULAR SWORD in two hands. Not a kitten sword or two with weird animations but ONE! The only thing it’d need is new animations and a toggle to this option somewhere. Things like holding it in front of you in combat or running with it held up at your side instead of the weird stuff there is nlw. Also for the future you can add two swords as “one” weapon to elite specs because of the two handed toggle. I wouldn’t literally hunt down, torture, and kill ANYONE for this on elementalist. That or mounts and housing too.

What leaks are you basing this off of? All that I’m aware of is the terribly taken screenshot of Amnoon Oasis many months ago. I don’t recall any leaks on the rest of the LS episodes, where the LS maps will be with their sizes, and where the expansion maps will be with their sizes and number.

I know you said it’s just your theory but I’m curious about how you’re basing it.

Based off the crystal desert claim someone made. Not saying it’s true, though they predicted a legendary a pvp map and 2 fractals. All the stuff on the picture is my own theory based on that “leak” trying to explain how it may happen

regarding the leaks and what I think is my best theory for how we’ll get to the desert, sloppily drawn on a screenshot. I only cover the very first mission or two of a large expac, the stuff I’ve written is only about how we get to the area. Anyway, here a crappy picture of how/why we’ll get where we go.

Haven’t got time for a proper huge post so I’ll just say – not only armor sets, but for ALL weights, as many as possible without capes of ANY kind. Maybe even some without much at all..

I quit playing back before HoT released, i used to really enjoy the game up until the whole end of scarlet briar and the marjory/khasmeen ( spelling?) storylines , i felt that the whole lesbian mess felt cheap and like anet was just trying to ride the proverbial wave, and the living story dialogue was poorly done and voiced ( im a southern man and marjory’s accent was like nails on a chalkboard, also wth didn’t her sister have the same accent?)

Anyway what im trying to get around to is:

~ Is living story worthwhile now? did the disney writer start putting out some decent work?

~ is the state of the game in the same mess that it was in before? (meta pandering, where everyone ran the same builds and “zerker” was the go to or you were kicked.)

~ do they still favor putting junk in the cash shop instead of producing content and fixing bugs?

~ how fun is the expansion, and does it actually improve upon the game’s huge flaws?

I ask because after seeing NCsofts last earnings report, guildwars 2 and wildstar were thier two lowest earners, guildwars 2 being the lesser of the two. I would hate to put money into the game again only to have ncsoft pull the plug liek they threatened to before they started work on HoT. Also, how populated is the game now? My irl friends wont touch the game again after quitting, so noone i know still plays or will play. They were put off by the living story and the direction the game was going ( they felt it was targeted more for young teens and kids)

I LOVE the story. (SOME SPOILERS!!!!!!)

I was happy to see the white mantle storyline, but it was over too fast. I mean, the ending was good but I liked it to the point I wanted more. Though that eye seems to be entangled in more things than the mantle.. though of course I just said it wasn’t mantle related, or so I think. (Does the eye control demons or even have a way to bring them to tyria? I look forward to this). I also like what they’re doing with the dragons. The most logical parts were kinda predictable, but only because it’s so logical – there are nice twists too. And getting a new map among other things is so much fun!! Legendaries are back, and we have fun new things to mine,log,or harvest in each map. Anyway, they do have weekly gem store stuff but that’s normal for any mmo. Most recently, there was the fish which I find funny but some ppl think it’s cruel? I don’t know if they’re being serious or not.. the expansion is harder, but before you give up please give it a few hours for a given map or feature – I was newish when it came out and struggled, but greatly enjoyed it. Enjoyable but short storyline, though if they want they could improve the story with almost anything cough … I have little to no trouble finding others either. I’d recommend coming back. I’ve only been a gamer for like 6 years (and he kind who only plays a few games and doesn’t leave unless they die, so I’ve only ever played 7 long term games) but I’ve gone the long est in this game than any other without taking longer breaks I sometimes do. What I mean is I find it very fun

Generally speaking, I think ArenaNet have been deliberately avoiding giving large offhand weapons (sword, mace, axe) to professions that can use a mainhand dagger, to avoid the silliness that could result from using a dagger as your primary weapon while awkwardly holding a bigger weapon in the other hand.

So I know development of the world map isn’t like move from one completed place to the next (we got Krtya after 4 years? 1st ever FS and RF maps too), so it’s not that bad if we don’t get the rest of the jungle for a while. Eventually, something will come up and we’ll get it, if they finish the current map (I think they will). For example: We left Kryta without getting all of it, but something came up and we got more of it. However, I am wondering if it’ll be soon – there are currently 3 gaps left in the jungle (below AB/left of DS, under DS, above rate/right TD/underDT, you know the one). Possible stories include Malyck’s tree, Rata Novans having moved elsewhere, and a vantage point to attack Primordus from (edge of the jungle comes up to the edge of the ring of fire. Kinda like Steamspur/Orr.) Thoughts? Also in general, where do you speculate the next episode(s?) will be? the expansion?

On something kinda related, how about legendaries or armor that actually makes you naked? Or since that’d constitute a rating change which could be a pain, have a new underwear variant for chest and legs? I know that’s been requested for a while

I’d rather have player housing along that line. Though I’d like to give huge applause for their work on all the open buildings in Lake Doric. Great map, keep it up anet!
