You guys hit the nail on the head: A power failure has a reverberating effect on things. It takes some time to power everything up after a outage, and the time lost in inaccessibility to the servers and the build can roll out to cause delays longer than the simple period of the outage. By that, I mean, if the power goes out for 10 minutes, recovery takes longer than that 10 minutes.

The team is continuing to work on this and thanks for your patience. (And your chocolate )

Nah. If we’re allowed to burn down anything, it should be the Grove first.

If players are allowed to burn down the Grove, they would be allowed to burn down everywhere.

Do you suppose the Queen held enough of the Seraph back in DR, now that it’s come to that?

  • On the one hand, she has Logan.
  • On the other, the Seraph couldn’t even save a hospital and an orphanage at the same time, even though we divided up because that was why the Gods invented teamwork.

I’d say the fate of Divinity’s Reach is in the hands of [Fate] (that’s the guild made up of Angel Leigh McCoy, Bobby Stein, Peter Fries, et al). In other words, do the game’s writers think that Jennah held back enough Seraph?

some seraph say that in SW. While that was years ago, it’s a statement about her lack of militant experience leading her to send too many away.

How much bloodstone is there?

5 MASSIVE chunks around in places, not to mention bloodstone magic, which uses the inherent power of a bloodstone (not the power contained in a bloodstone but the basic power of the stone itself, mind you. Hence it’s being red no matter what), which doesn’t require a physical bloodstone, but simply exposure to it at some point. We can see that even centaurs (who are, as much as you can say about an entire race, magically inadept) using bloodstone magic in the new trailer. This is also a sign of how much magic is leaking out…

It’s already slow enough as it is. If you take 2 months for an episode and only put 1 weapon in (not even factoring the fact that the episodes will end long before this, maybe they’ll be expac 2?..) It’s going to be another.. 20 months before we have a full 16 second set.. yea, that’s starting now (but not counting this one, so I guess 18 months)

Mini Expansion: Vengeance

This is a suggestion for a smaller sized expansion addressing what the commander did during the respite after Mordy’s death and S3. (and also makes Zhaitan and Mordy seem better) , as well as fill in a few places it may be otherwise difficult to explain visiting. Basically there are two separate shorter length stories

Mordremoth’s Final Plan
and
Zhaitan’s Retribution

Mordy chapters give us remaining gaps in the jungle and address Malyck’s tree as the biggest blighting tree in the Shadow Grove (which is still making mordrem guard, and is a major plot point), why Magus Falls was a name but isn’t (subsection name), and more mapping and Rata Novus story, etc, anything else in the area. Basically mordremoth understands how magic works, and if he dies, his magic will go all over. Attemping to preserve a reputation after death, he arranges a contingency in the form of a dragon minion intentionally given free will, and is informed never to reveal himself to enemies (the Pact), and, if mordy dies, absorb as much magic as he can, and, minimum, keep the primary Shadow Tree functional. Includes minor characters and PC dismantling mordremoth;s final attempt at power, but sets up mordrem guard character to return years later as a character with actual intelligence. As this is before S3, WE don’t learn the magic thing yet though, but we know mordremoth’s whole process by a cutscene in the past (or something better).

Zhaitan chapter starts with Tequatl reappearing after years, and us tracking him to the Sunburned Waves, and killing him finally, and investigating how the risen still function, getting us closer to Taimi’s revelation in S3 (and how we’re just, like, “ok”.) we journey into the ancient orrian catacombs in search of the Vizier’s spellbook (not the lost scrolls he sank orr with, unless that fits better but I don’t think it does). He has information on controlling undead, which, though Risen are different, we hope we can use to shut them down forever. In the end, it only kinda works, and we slow down the risen even more that post Zhaitan, but can’t finish the job as it leads into S3, Eir’s memorial. Also It’d be cool if we saw that Forgal and Tybalt are prominent leaders now (priory sylvari can’t be corrupted but maybe she lived if you wanna bring them all back), and we also put them down.

Basically thse stories give more depth to the “lacking” dragons, hints at the larger story, has maps and little lore bits, and doesn’t require the premium VO of the main NPCs, and also give us a break from em. (._.)

This’d include two reasonably sized ach categories, and through some of those (and map currencies – Residual Mind Magic and Residual Death Magic, or UM), we unlock the Mordremoth weapon set, Zhaitain and Risen weapon sets, and since mordrem exists, we have a chance to drop them there. And also Zhaitain wings, Shadow of the Dragon wings, and Mordremoth wings, with gliders, and a glider for Teq wings. Also give us Mordrem, Mordremoth, Zhaitain, and Risen armors. BUT PLEASE!! Make only ONE version for each set and let if be usable by all armor weights, BUT DO NOT MAKE IT AN OUTFIT! Armor weights are now invalid (if you don’t get why, the primary reason is outfits). Also Zhaitan and Mordremoth tracks for WVW/PVP (giving whatever skins drop not from achs). and only 2 mastery tracks (if that, we don’t NEED any), one for each dragon type. and of course, minis. I’d say at least: Zhaitain mini, Shadow of the Dragon mini, Mouth of Mordremoth mini, Mordremoth mini, Risen Tybalt mini, Risen Forgal mini. IDK what else, maybe Vizier ghost if that becomes part of it? otherwise not much.. Malyck maybe, and one for the new intelligent mordrem – or wait until it returns.

Well, if this has 5 maps, 4 armors, 3 backs, 4 gliders, 3 weapon sets, 7 minis, 2 tracks, 2 mastery tracks,dialogue (only PC and minor chars tho), and achievements, what’s missing? how is it a mini expansion? well..

First, it has NO new features or ANY changes to existing ones. HoT had more feature than future ones will, but I imagine they’ll all have at least ONE major feature or feature rework.. This doesn’t. NO guild halls, elite specs, professions (or whatever fills the profession gap content wise in the future), no fractals, no legendaries, no WVW/PVP maps/features, only 2 masteyr tracks instead of 5-6, and no recording with expensive main characters.

Basically this’d be an awesome set of maps, skins, and story buff for lore freaks (me) and make 2 meh dragons better. Would take a while as it’d be a side project, but if you charge half the standard expac price, you’d make plenty of profit back. Pls here’s a edited photo of the maps and names.

I could make a SUPER long post, but for now I’ll put my 3 most important things (aside from a new feature)

Story! Long interesting story, little and small, impactfully world changing and specific lore bits

Mapssssss!! As many as possible don’t worry about using the world map, there’s a lot more beyond to make!

ARMOR! I always wanted this, but even more so since the last xpac only had TWO sets, and very few sets are non coat cape trope.

Except that they don’t. The only golemancers in the game are Asura. Smart Asura sell their services rather than their technology. I’m sure after Scarlett they are even more guarded with their technology.

Probably, but it could change. All it takes is one to teach a small group of people (just because we can use it in lore doesn’t mean anyone can. Like some npcs do things we can’t). Anyway, I was just trying to say that it’s likely better if they just give a spec to each class only.

How far back would the history change go? Imagine if the flame legion had defeated Kalla and the other legions if that happened I guess all the “Modern” charr would be renegade or enslaved, and humans would be on the verge of extinction probably.

But if that had happened maybe the flame legion could have taken out kryta? And picture the charr even marching on the grove or Rata sum, although the charr probably would still be primitive and wouldn’t have all the modern tech they have now.

My changes are mostly only a few years before the game and during.

In scarlet’s war, the toxic alliance destroyed the rest of them (including briar herself), and built the Toxic Citadel, with the citadel itself being as large as the entire LA map and the surrounding area that’s technically the citadel (scout towers, barracks, turrets, armories, etc) reaches into bloodstone, gendaren, lornars, and Tengu land. This leads the Tengu to lose even MORE land, and they never leave the Dominion. When mordy rises, no one opposes him since he’s off in the middle of nowhere. ALL Sylvari (toxic, nightmare, regs) become Mordrem Guard. As the Toxic Alliance takes over Kryta, everywhere south of DR retreats into the Woodland Cascades after the inexplicable disappearance of all Centaurs in the area (future story explains it). Primordus creates a sinkhole over the Black Citadel and sieges it in an epic battle against the charr. The charr eventually retreat all the way back to the Blood Legion Homelands. The Ogres and Giants (they’re not extinct – it’s only known they’re nowhere near the current world, but in this one they found their way to our area.) Are in Blazeridge, making the Charr journey harder. The Iron Legion is so badly damaged that it causes a brief civil war over whether or not to dissolve Iron Legion survivors into the other legions or not. The Norn, without any help, remain trapped between Jormag in the north, Primordus in the east, Toxic in the west, and Zhaitan in the south (he spreads into lower Steamspur without proper opposition). The Asura modify Rata Sum, more than tripling its size and doing many other things to it, and raise their city tens of thousands of feet in the sky, away from the world. That way, they’re safe from all attacks except dragon champions, which the city is redesigned for handling those. None of the EDs care enough to get the city themselves.. for now. The grove is the biggest Blighted Tree, now known as the Shadow Foundry – nobody goes there. Basically, every race is either moved out or destroyed, which means this game’d have different regions, including some off the map, and go to our regions only in all out war expansions. Summary: The humans are in the Woodland Cascades (DR being abandoned before the Alliance invades, to save more lives.) with nowhere south to go. The norn are barely surviving, and are trapped but not actively under full attack. The Sylvari are all gone. The Asura are in the upper atmosphere, and have created so many other little floating things they practically have their own world. There are also some natural islands up there…… The charr are in the Blood Legion Homelands pretty much exclusively. Blazeridge is inhabited by Ogres and Giants (not lupis, that’s for another place and story). Crystal Desert is all Kralks. Orr and surrounding Steamspur and SOS is undead. Kryta is the Toxic Alliance, with exclusively krait(now called the Blood Empire.). Far Shiverpeaks is Jormag, with Central being Norn. Ring of Fire is only inhabited by a few Kodan sanctuaries, the last in the world. Other things happen there, but nothing major really. Tarnished Coast and Maguuma are entirely Mordremoth’s, except for the completely surrounded Dominion of Winds. Maguuma Wastes is.. unknown, as is Janthir and off-map places. Somewhere in the unending ocean is the DSD, which is sinisterly doing things elsewhere, which would be the biggest plot point later on. By then, the Largos, Quaggan, and non Empire Krait would be ALMOST wiped out.. but not quite.. though more races probs live down there anyway. Also beyond the map are many interesting places. Including a snow kingdom of people that are basically blue elves physically (more story for later), and lizard people (think Trandoshans (Star Wars) for appearance), in the dense forests. and a “forest” of thorn and briar, etc.. I can go on forever, but that’s the outline of this Central Tyria without anyone particularly heroic.

Player Housing

While I am not convinced Mounts would be a good thing… I have been waiting for the housing concept for a while. I played EQ2 (a long time ago) and their housing system was good. Probably my favorite part was earning trophies to display in your house, by killing mass amounts of an enemy, collecting pieces. Guild Wars 2 already has the collections in place, along with the decorations aspect introduced in Guild Halls. Although, I would like to see the housing be instance based, but possibly some more quest-like stories in obtaining houses. Even if they were similar to the guild hall captures (which are amazing). There are so many great ideas and concepts already in place, just have to apply them to the housing idea. Although, this takes time, and with all that the guild wars team is doing and accomplishing, I can wait until they get around to it.

maybe it’ll be the new feature in expac2 to fill the new profession gap? (content wise)

Player Housing

When can we get it? It was promised with guild halls back at launch, and no word of them when HoT came. No word on it for years, but it was stated that housing would absolutely 100% be in someday. Well I’ve finished hopelessly wandering the internet trying to find a sufficient replacement (this is probably the 20th time I’ve done this in a year), still finding nothing that matches what I used to play. So, I return here, depressed, and again wonder how good the housing would be if they actually did what they said within four years.. Personally, I’d love earning decorations around the world.. including the gemstore (cough.. hundreds of dollars.. cough). I used to play the old clone wars game, if anyone else did and remembers that housing. Also mounts like that, kthanks

Things I want to see getting done/happening: (not wioth the next expac in general, but as a whole for this game)

  • Implementation of own Underwater Traits + Complete Rebalance/Redesign of all Underwater Skills to make Underwater Gameplay for this game GREAT AGAIN and nothing, that Anet desperately tries to remove from GW2, so that nobody remembers anymore, that it was once part of this game’s big marketing features 2012
  • Redesign of the Attribute System from Single Effect System to Dual Effect System to strengthen the defensive and supportive effects to become equal with pure DPS in regard of Attribute Synergies and to add new combat elements, that will make combats in GW2 more fun, if these things become part of Class Balance, like Attribute Effects, that will decrease Critical Hit taken fromenemie,s or Attribute Effects, that raise your Endurance Regeneration
  • Redesign of the Condition & Boon System (would help massively as well for Game Performance)
  • Implementation of Elite Spec Training Sessions, that add lore to the Elite Specs as like the Revenant as new Class, which explain, how Rytlock became a Revenant (I support the Razah Training Theory because that would make sense with Razah beign known as the only unhuman Mist Being that exists in Tyria that could possibly teach Rytlock to make usage of the powers of the mist to become a Revenant, retroactively turning as well Razah from a Ritualist into a Revenant basically for GW2 terms)
  • Reimplementation of Season 1 into the game including new Fractals, like a Marionette Fractal, like a Lions Arch Defense Fractal, like an Invasion Fractal that are new types of “Mass Event Fractals” where players of multiple Fractal instances get temporarely thrown together into 1 generated “Mass Instance” for that moment.
  • Implementation of Build Save Feature
  • Finally implementation of DirectX11 Support at least
  • Playable Tengus and redesigned playable Largos
  • Complete Redesign/Merge of Base Classes with the first set of Elite Specs, becaue they are all in 80% of all cases uninspired Base Classes 2.0, especially the Daredevil
  • After this step, increase the amount of Elite Specs per Class to maximum 5 per Class to increase Build Diversity
  • Implementation finally of Jeweler and Chef 500
  • Implementation finally of account unlockable Ascended/Legendary Upgrades (for Skill Skins)
  • Implementation of Legendary Accessoires (for unique Finishing Moves)
  • Implementation of Fishing and Digging as new Gatherign Jobs
  • Implementation of Brewing (Now when there are literally Brewmasters, this needs to become a Crafting Job for crafting Potions, Elixiers, Tonic, Alcoholic Drinks and the like)
  • Implementation of Mounts, Airships and Ships as new earnable and customizable
    Prestige Objects
  • Implementation of Player Housing and Redesign of Player Instances so that they are not anymore just boring instanced Farm Locations
  • Implementation of more Weapon Types, especially Greataxes, Polearms (Glaives, Lances, Spears), Remove Tridents/Harpoon Guns as Weapon Type (merge them with Staffs/Rifles,Harpoon Guns can just count as alterations of rifles with different ammo shooting Bolts instead of Bullets using a different mechanism as well that requires no blackpowder, that explains the change of skin, but as weapon type it should just count as rifle), Chakrams, Claws, Whips, Crossbows and Flails
  • Implementation of a Reputation/Quest/Mission (3 in 1) System based on the 3 Orders Vigil, Whispers & Priory
  • Expansion of the Fractals into new interesting Sub Modes, like for example Heroic Fractals, which are fractals that work like replaying historic time spans of tyrias History in multiple chapters out of the view of historic characters with their unique Skill Sets – working similar like improved Bonus Mission Packs – if you know them from GW1 – starting with “Ghosts of Ascalon”, turning the book literally into playable content that lets you replay the story of the characters of that novel to experience the story under their view partwise for example as Dougal Keane, partwise as someone else maybe
  • Implementation of Camping & Fotography as new Features (FF15 inspiration)
  • Redesign of Music Instruments, making it possible to use improved prescriptig Music Scripts automatically similar like in certain other MMORPGs that are known for this feature, like LotRO, or Mabinogi, or even FF14 have a betterm usic system with the instruments, than we do have

Hopes n Dreams about Expac 2

From expac 2 I want:

  • Kodan or Tengu as a playable race
  • 8+ new maps
  • new elite specs (that’s pretty much sure thing)
  • 10+ new armor sets in all weights
  • epic dragon battle
  • housing and revamped decoration and trophy system
  • fishing
  • reputation system with exclusive rewards
  • Rytlock to finally tell us how he got his revenant powers (no more “Later cub”)

It’s quite a lot. I don’t expect it but this would be a dream expansion for me.

You, sir, understand how to life. The only thing I’d like to see in addition (I know its a lot for 1 xpac, I mean over probably 2) is mounts. I know, I know; it doesn’t need to be useful. Honestly, I just want a more in depth toy system that allows for easier access, collecting them (wardrobe!), and more types (dragons, monsters, devices, toys, etc.). flying creatures can just flap right above the ground, no need for a flying system. And please, if you expand on toys and make them into mounts, let at least a few be obtainable outside of gemstore.

Like Caladbolg? Which was a subverted version of Mordremoth’s magic, used to attack Zhaitan’s energy. There is precedent.

I like, honestly, how there are parallels and cancellations (which seems like neutralizing more to me), but absorbing the magic from any dragon, even your parallel, gives you more power. It’s kinda odd, and I’d love for them to explain how that is exactly, but I think it’s cool. I see it as, it doesn’t cancel out your powers when you absorb them because it’s now your power – plus, it can only be absorbed to a certain extent due to the different spectrums of magic – for example, mordremoth could only use corpses. If he fully absorbed his share of the death spectrum, there’d be risen under his command.

I agree the jump feels wrong, but Ill wait and see how they handle it. I know the tech exists, but it still feels weird how we jump from one battlefront ot the other across the entire Continent.

I think it is way too soon for Drakkar and I doubt we will push that far North either. As he is an established “villain” from GW1, Drakkar’s appearance should be built up to prior to Jormag in an expac..

The reason we’re jumping around and not beating down one enemy is vecause we’re ocerwhelmed! If we beat one, the others carry out their plan. And while it feels weird, we NEED to continent jump

Because I just learned my “exclusive” mordremoths bane decoration, revenant finisher, mini rytlock, AND the glider are STILL available if you buy the pack. When hot went on sale we were given the impression/outright told that these items were exclusive!! Why did I cough up another $50 for nothing special? Is the title exclusive at least it is that somewhere In there too?!!?

I’ve grown to hate the weights so much! Also if we eliminate weights maybe we can get some outfits as armors instead – or at least more armors as rewards as they’ll be easier to make. Also can we get some standalone pant and chest skins?? Idk why we get gloves and helmets and shoulders all the time (toxic, dragonscale, bloodstone, etc etc) and even boot skins occasionally.. but NEVER any chest or legs? Is there some reason they’re afraid to do that? Armor weights is invalid because outfits. And a lot of the standalone skins would look different with weights too so.. (off topic now plsdontkillmeisorry) basically I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment good sir!

You know, the wardrobe for.. previewing things that’s LACKING tons of skins.. Why? please keep up with all the skins in the wardrobe! Here’s a list of the things OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD that don’t show up (unless you buy them, but that doesn’t count since other things show up without you buying them which is how its supposed to be): Kurzick Dual Axe, dragon kama, stormbow, emissary staff, pirate hook, pirate peg leg, hawk wings, pirate corsair hat, shadow of the dragon shoulders and gloves AND helmet, wizard’kitten, shoulder scarf, caudecus’s sword AND gun, Gwen’s outfit, lava skull backpack, moth wings, sloth backpack, shining blade glider thing (maybe wrong here since I bought the first day), oh and bunny ears, and I can’t really think of any more on the spot. But why are you falling behind anet?

One thing that occurred to me is if you don’t have EOTN then you don’t actually have 3 points. The 3 points you get for linking 2 accounts is automatic but unless you have EOTN they’re more like placeholder points. Your account doesn’t get them for real without buying the expansion.

ugh so I spent $30 for the trilogy to get the original game for the purpose of HOM and now I have to cough up ANOTHER $20?

so, to claim my Hall of Monuments rewards, I have to: spend FIFTY dollars on the original game for the trilogy AND EOTN, AND I have to play ALL THE WAY TO THE MONUMENT IN THE FIRST GAME?! First of all, it has crystals because of glint. BUT, it also looks a lot like mordrem-esque skin because of the power it absorbed at the end of HoT! the rest is adorable.
