PLEASE! there’s nothing that’s not a grind. Grind to get people to actually stay for HoT maps, grind to get ppl to stay for shatterer, and half the achieves still impossible, A grind for the first piece and then another grind against the boss for every single legendary armor part, AND DEAR LORD GOD ALMIGHTY DO NOT START ME ON THE TIMED KRAKEN MODE. HOURS TO GET GROUPS, FAIL EVERY TIME, AND PEOPLE LEAVE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIGHT. Honesltly, a bigger problem than the grind part is getting five people, let alone ten, to both stay and do it right.

1. Any plans for new playable races?
2. Can you tell us ANYTHING about expac2? dragon? how many dragons? locations?
3. Mounts, Housing. We need. Thoughts?
4. Will you ever complete armors like lawless or toxic?
5. What about weapons? are all weapons possible for all classes in the future? How about new weapon types?
6. Is it possible we’d ever see more elements for elementalist? What would the restrictions be like?
7. Are the Woodland Cascades at all in your current plans? How about deep sea stuff, and more krait/Bubbles lore?

Cantha/Elona will never happen, so theres absolutely no point in it to wish for it, just wasted time…

My dream Expansion of right now would be this:

New Playable Race: Tengus
Story: We go next after Kralkatorrik, deep story with a multiple path story on the same quality as like Person Story where we went against Zhaitan with a new kind of “Mission System” where we can play if we want our Story also together with a large group of say 19-24 other players that we have to command to get the feeling, that we are a Commander here, that is commanding troops and where the group has to split up and do several tasks at the same time, so that these kind of story elements become more challenging (but still soloable if you want to do it just with NPCs that replace players if you have no big group ready, but where the whole intention is to play these story missions as big group, because then they make alot more FUN, than when doign them alone and where replaying them and helping others is also rewarding, so that people will want to help others out constantly also too, because of getting this way something as reward, you can get only from Story Missions)

New Region: Crystal Desert consisting out of 9 new explorable Story Maps
- Dunes of Despair
- Amnoon Oasis (New Town Map)
- The Forgotten Lands (Raid Map)
- Salt Flats
- Skyward Reach
- The Arid Sea
- Crystal Crater
- Sanctum Cay (Tengu Racial Town)
- Dominion of the Winds (Tengu Starter Map Lvl 1-25) (merged with Claw Island and the floating Wizard Castle)

Elite Specializations Set 2
- Bard (Mesmer) – Dual Warhorns
- Legionnaire (Warrior) – Tower Shields
- Summoner (Elementalist) – Gauntlets or Chakrams
- Beastlord (Ranger) – Whips
- Inquisitor (Guardian) – Halberds
- Occultist (Necromancer) – Torch
- Alchemist (Engineer) – Axes
- Rogue (Thief) – Longbow
- Ritualist (Revenant) – Scepter

New Weapon Types added:
- Tower Shields (Bigger MH Shields) (or simply Shields, current Shields renamed to Bucklers)

  • New Expanded Central Tyria Masteries:
    - Crafting Arts Mastery (enables to craft undestroyable Equipment, improves Crafting Exp for not maxed out Crafting Jobs and more, enables to craft accountbound Ascended Runes, Sigils and Gemstones to make equipping upgrades for PvE as easy as like in PvP once you unlocked the Upgrades for your Account this way )
    - Gathering Mastery (unlocks new Gathering Methods for Fishing and Digging and improves the gains of general gathering materials, allows you to gather more ofteny from nodes and so on)
    - Dungeon Mastery (increases Token Gains, unlocks new rewards like Ascended Weapon/Armor sets, and so on)
    - Heroic Movements (decreases significantly Fall Damage to the point, that we receive nearly none anymore, so that Fall Damage Traits can get removed and replaced with better traits, unlocks new Character Moves to give us more style while we move to let us lock more epic, to fall flat on the belly when gettign fall damage is just so disgraceful to look at, unlocks other Movements, like Side Flips and Saltos for our Dodges to enhance our Dodge Rolls, Increases Jump Heigth to allow us to jump 50% higher and so on, alot of possibilities here)
    - Rework of most of the current “World Bosses” by degrading them to Grand Champions and adding for the 7-8 degraded Bosses some real World Boss worthy enemies of the same quality of Tequatl/TT to various Central Tyria Maps, especialy those, that have seen since Game Release until today no attention at all, like for example Timberline Falls, like Fireheart Rise, like Fields of Ruin, like Dredgehaunt Cliffs, like Iron Marches, like Harathi Hinterlands and also Southsun Cove needs direly a rework, the map is way too empty and way too boring with only the Karka Queen being its only attraction and reason for why ypou want to be there for the while it needs to kill it…otherwise these is absolutely nothing interesting at all …
  • Introduction of some super old outdated Black Lion Weapon Sets as baselined Ingame Rewards, starting with the very first 3 Sets by addign for those Weapon Sets kind of Achievement similar to the Precursor Achievement,s that you can earn the skins of you do alot of other thigns in the game to earn yourself this way these skins which will most likely never return again to be buyable for only 1 ticket, so that players get finally also a way to earn those skins through effort that isn’t just pure gold grinding and buying from TP..because alot of those skins are already sold long for a very long time – so people who would like to complete the Weapon Skin Collection Achievements can’t do this, if there does’t come somehow new skins of them into the game. So its neccessary that these older skins should become somewhen finalyl also earnable for players as Anet anyways puts into the game consntaly total new skin sets, they will anyways never run out of gemstore stuff that will be bought by players, so there shouldnt be a problem with it when they begin now to add the super old skins as earnable rewards, to give players again a chance to unlock these skins too if they are willing to put the efforts for them into the game like working on a precursor…
  • Build Template System
  • Rework of the LFG-Tool
  • New added Guild Hall Maps in Central Tyria
  • Return of the District System to allow players easier to switch between Zone Instances of the same Map for when you get into a full map, that you can see how many districts your map zone as a kind of solution against all this constant “Taxi” spam in LFG, making it easier for players to move self into the districts where they are needed together with symbols that show, how many commanders on a district are
  • Living Phases – Every Map can be affected now by Living Phases, means older content like the Orr Maps will change now also over time and based on your Character’s Progression in the Game will you phase also into different Map Versions when you enter them. However, with the help of the returned District System will be players also able to return back in tiem to revisit the older map versions
  • New Fractals – The Exodus (Abaddon Fractal), Battle of Lions Arch Fractal (Including Assault Knights), Scarlet’s Airship Boss Fractal, Marionette Invasion Fractal, Marionette Boss Battle Fractal
  • Heroic Fractals (New Solo Fractal Content Type similar to Bonus Mission Pack) starting with the Ghosts of Ascalon Fractal
  • Dungeon Crawlers (New non story Raid Dungeons that are everytime you enter then different, starting with the Tower of Destiny, a 100 Floor Dungeon Crawler with bosses on every 10th floor)
  • Battlefields (New GvG PvP Maps especially made for Guild Battles designed for combats larger than 5v5, more like 25v25 or 50v50 or 100v100)
  • Hunting Grounds (Special Time gated Farm Maps with lots of unique huge creatures to hunt, that you will see only there. Literally places, that give you a kind of Monster Hunter Feeling) – starting with the Woodland Cascades north of Destiny’s Reach becoming a huge deep and misty forrest based Hunting Ground that will be open for farm every weekend from saturday start to sunday end for 48hours
  • Guild Crusades – new improved and bigger Guild Missions, that require larger amounts of players than 15 or so to be done and are more like unique Guild Missions where you have to defeat armies of enemies strategetically, while making also usage of siege weapons and war tactics, while beign lead by your guild commander/leader/officers (this brings basically “Invasions” back to various maps, but this time just with more depth behind it, than just killing mindlessly only waves after waves of enemies without any strategy)
  • Jeweler 500, Chef 500
  • Legendary Accessoires with the introduction of a new “Skill Skin System” enabling you to exchange out the Designs of your Weapon, Healing, Utility and Elite Skills out based on which Skill Skins you use actively with Legendary Accessoires unlocking for your Account new Skill Skin Sets.
    You want that your Necromancer Minions should look different, more liek the original GW1 Mininions?, change out the Skill Skin Set for Necromancer Minions with the “Legacy Skill Skin Set” to make your Minions turn into GW1 Style Minions for example.

Flesh Golem will become alot more bony like in GW1
Bone Fiend will turn the two small rats into 2 Hellhounds/2 Bone Sharks underwater for example
The Devourer will get turned into a Bone Drake
and so on

For elementalists you can change your elementals into elemental beasts, turning for example your Fire Elenmental into a summoned majestic big Fire Phoenix, turning your Wind Elemental insto a majestic big Storm Kirin inspired by FFX’s Ixion and so on …

Minions are the easiest Skill Skins for the introduction of the System.

I’m actually immensely surprised a thread like this doesn’t already exist, there’s one for specializations, but the search function couldn’t help me find one for expansions. Keep in mind this is all just for fun!

We know that ArenaNet has another expansion in the works, and though it won’t see the light of day for some time, we can dream up our own expansions to get us hyped on the possibilities of the unknown xD

I’ve included my own brief expansion “pitch” as an example, but I want to see what other ideas are out there!

Guild Wars 2: Factions

Summary:

A return to a war-torn, desolated, Cantha where the descendants of the Luxon and Kurzick tribes seek to bolster their members due to their losses against the Deep Sea Elder Dragon.

Quick Feature list:

All new Canthan inspired specializations for each profession! Channel the power of your pet’s spirit as the Ritualist inspired Spirit Warden specialization for Ranger! Call upon the powers of Master Togo in the new Revenant specialization! Or tap into the unique powers and properties of jade as an Elementalist!

PvE

The Zephyrites have rebuilt their airships! Climb aboard the newly rebuilt Zephyr Sanctum and journey to Cantha where new challenges await!

Explore Cantha and it’s towering cities with the glider, and then dive underwater to face the Deep Sea Dragon’s army with newly revamped underwater combat!

The return of factions, more than simply the Luxon and Kurzick, earn the trust of others such as the Tengu, the Oni, and many more! Rise the ranks from a nobody, to a renown and respected member with special perks!

PvP

Optionally represent the faction of your choice (Luxon and Kurzick) in the open world! Players who choose to represent the opposing faction will appear hostile; so beware! Choosing to represent your faction will allow members of the opposing faction to attack you!

I was going to write something until I read your and it became my dream :P. lol but srsly out of the current map, Woodland Cascades. Out of the whole thing, I’d love to go northeast. This would be after the entire rest of the world (assuming this game is like WOW and goes far enough to need another world, or you could just not to that part) but the elder dragons have been dead for idk, a decade and we’ve dealt with almost every other major threat in the entire world. But then we hear another roar, only it’s so much louder than the other dragons is reaches across the whole world. Having explored 90% of the world, we know it must be coming from the area around “Not Real” We journey through Olympus and Foundry to reach Not Real, which is a massive hub of ley line, chaos, draconic, and any other magic that has resulted in extremely dangerous land (looks volcanic) here we find a soul dragon that sucked up the other 6 dragons as they died (here’s your excuse to make the others lame, Anet as long as you stick around for this xpac) and has stolen all their powers and memories. But this dragon is not a force of nature, but an INSANELY intelligent being, and knows 6 ways the other dragons tried that won’t work. He has all of their powers, all of their minions, and his own minions. We begin seeing natural disasters like hurricanes (DSD powers), earthquakes (Primordus), etc and all of their minions as well. Also note that since magic is so connected and present there, this dragon is EXTREMELY powerful, but also that the interdimensional/planetary divide is thin, and perhaps this dragon is from another world (if you want this could get your another world Anet) . Also your chance to go crazy with weird enemies, and if you don’t ever take us to the world, not explain them! Anyway, this dragon is basically all the others, soul powers, and controls a massive region of the world with epic towers, citadels, etc epic stuff. Also could go into next world because how else do we know more of them won’t show up? Or could use those natural disasters to remake this world and bring back enemies. See the map in color and where Not Real is

who did that? were they kittened? Because wasting 2 hrs for only 15mins to complete the map STILL filled with super op enemies (in fact, it seemed more full), is not a good design. I wasted 2hrs and 15minutes for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING because I could not reach a simple commune HP because of the enemies.

No new continents until the current map is done. Then, I want to go east or north far more interesting that elona or canthi (ok I admit interest in echovald) would be forsaken cliffs, thunder cove, Olympus, foundry, frozen gulley, fjord, and not real – that direction looks the best to me

DO I COMPLETE THE JADE KRAKEN TIMED MOTE?! been trying for hours with dozens of people, never even come close. I was told we have the “luxury” of missing a FEW beams?! This isn’t supposed to be the challenging content, it’s meant to be another simple piece of a collection!! Most people I know have never comepleted this fractal without missing a lot more than a “few” beams. How do you people do this?! why?!!

I want to face Jormag next, among the remaining four, it was the most active dragon and a lot of the areas or even personal stories were about fighting its minions.

I don’t get why they don’t add different underwear and swimsuits. It’s not like it’s inappropriate for the game, you CAN run around in underpants… They could either add statless slots for underwear and swimsuits, or add as outfits/skins (preferably skins). I’d buy every one of those they release…

I will do my best not to be rude of criticizing of the game, this is my list of new features/ expansions on existing features I like the best.

1. Housing! Anet did pretty well with guild hall decorating, as a way to make them feel a little unique and yours. As a housing replacement, however, (not saying they said that it was), this is nowhere near what we need. The good news is that housing does not have to take up space in the open world. Every game I’ve seen with housing has where you buy a given lot (for example Maguuma lot, shiverpeak lot, etc. Or more specifically to sell more stuff make more money; Verdant Brink lot, Wayfarer Foothills lot, etc etc etc.) Also all the decorations for guild halls can be added a second time (gemstore or elsewhere) as housing stuff, at least to begin with :P

2. Mounts! This really needs no suggestive explanation. Not only do I believe I’ve explained my way before, but others have suggested great ways to introduce it as cosmetic and not ruin the waypoint system… I will also say I’d pay pretty much anything for a dragon like this (pic at end of post I believe.)

3. Classes swapping! I really like masteries and elite specs, and am incredibly excited to see more of both, but one complaint I do have with this game compared to my other favorite is that you can’t switch jobs. I’m not sure how to implement this now, but I’d like to see it. Maybe not switching combat/main jobs but adding new jobs (or versions of crafting ones) as some sort of minigame leveled thing?

4. MAPS!!!! So I tried to list new features, but the truth is I really only truly care about the first two, everything else I would want is here. We need moar maps as fast as possible! :P also if/when we fill in the entire current map, I vote we go north or east, further into the supercontinent, not where we’ve already been… (cantha elona).

5. MASTERIES! I don’t have any specific ideas at this time, just more of them!

6. ELITE SPAECS! I have a few ideas (but now is not the time or post), but I do want to mention that ele will require much more work and that’s just haow it is. ( I liked tempest, I’m just putting that out there.)

9. raids! I really like the idea and implementation of raids in every way. I prefer of course the main story and primarily standard maps, but I do love raids. Also you could do raids as the main story (or a tie in to main story) and recap for ppl at the start of the next central story with some sort of a “previously on” and show cutscenes from the raid, and dialogue from your character.

10. Guild Halls! I’m not a huge guild person, but I do enjoy being in a great guild, and I definitely feel these were very much needed. I also like it as even another way to fill in the map faster

ok so now I did 10, top 10 things I want to see more of/added.

Also here is that dragon in the original game it was in. (some adaption of this would be amazing!)

EDIT: ERMEHFRICKINGAWD I forgot to mention races!!! This is number 3, move everything else down one mentally please. This is rather self explanatory (what isn’t self-explanatory, well read another post I’m tired of typing.) My top votes are Tengu, Kodan, Largos as most likely and favs

yes. I wasn’t a fan of the farming/grind increase, but I understand it may not always be like that and HoT is because it’s the ONLY thing for ppl who truly love grind (other than legendaries.) Either way is was definitely good enough for me to continue buying stuff in the game

I’m a fan of Dreamer. It took me years to get it, but darned if I’m not thrilled with it.

The sound makes my ears bleed.

Ok ok, you guys. I was going to say something about how I wish The Dreamer had an option “Whinny/Don’t Whinny” component, but that seemed sort of rude, given it’s a PonyBow™ and I should be willing to take the whole package or not choose it at all.

I have only had a couple of occasions when I’ve been asked “Can you turn that off?” and once when I was asked “What IS that sound.” I do admit, it’s a little… noticeable. But the whole visual is so splendid that I’m ok with that small drawback. ( ~nudge~ Get the ranger ref? draw-back????)

but when will we see the next 3 legendaries? Why can’t we see them all? I get why they can’t be released all at once, but why not show them all so now one wastes their time going for a legendary that isn’t as good to them as the new one is?

I see it as each dragon has a strength that their minions represent, and another that they themselves use against us, and that is their weakness. You know, literary device of their strength is their weakness? I’ve listed it like in the same order as I did up here.

Zhaitain – Death, Corruption

Mordremoth – Life, Mind

Primordus – Fire, Creation

Jormag – Ice, Temptation

Kralkatorrik – Air(that’s the element, but it’s mainly crystal powers), Power

Bubbles – Water, Fear

Soul?? All 6 dragons die and come together as one monster dragon that’s main power is soul. Some cool thing like what I heard about in Factions(?) where you die, but you come back would be amazing.

Explorer achieves

Tarnished Coast is part of the Maguuma Jungle. Always has been in lore.

Mechanically, the Steamspur Mountains count to the Maguuma Jungle stuff because of two reasons:

  1. They needed to even out the number of zones-to-region with release. Only Orr zones were fewer than 5 upon release.
  2. The themes of those two zones (Sparkfly and Mount Maelstrom) match that of the Tarnished Coast+Brisban zones, in regards to textures and models used for the environment.

Magus Falls has its own explorer achievements, which are per map.

Also, Orr is a complete region – it’s just that there’s room for more (and it’s more than half of the peninsula – note: Orr is not a continent – but what brings it over that half is the dungeon Arah which doesn’t count to explorer because it’s a jungle).

I understand the mechanical reasons, I just wish they’d change it. But if Tarnished Coast is part of Maguuma, why name is Tarnished Coast? Why does it get a specific name? I know about the HoT explorer achieves, but I’d rather have one Magus Falls one. Not so much because of now, but if every map gets it’s own from now on, imagine 5 xpacs later with lik another 25-30 zones! Also I wasn’t counting the dungeon since it doesn’t show on world map and we can’t go there, but I do see your point.

Explorer achieves

Why do Tarnished Coast and Steamspur Mountains count for a “Maguuma Jungle” explorer achievement? Steamspur is across the frigging continent! Technically there is no jungle anyway, only the wastes and Magus Falls, SOMETIMES known as the heart of maguuma. I would be eternally grateful if someone could take a moment to delete Maguuma Jungle Explorer and create Tarnished Coast Explorer and Steamspur Mountains Explorer. Also plz add Maguuma Wastes and maybe Magus Falls? And don’t say they won’t because the regions aren’t complete. We have Orr, and we can go to less that half of the actual continent! I know this isn’t priority, but I don’t see why it can’t be accomplished quickly…

True, although they never said dragons, the orbs could actually be a vision of anything (on the topic of gods, perhaps the 6 returning or the orb going in, one dying, forcing the return of the others). I agree dragons is most likely though
