Am I the only one bothered with Temporal Curtain’s swiftness not stacking with other swiftness boons? I realize that it’s made so that one cannot run back and forth for multiple application of swiftness, but can Anet not set the curtain to apply swiftness only once no matter how many times a player crosses that curtain?

Thing is, is there any non-group based ways to get gear at 80 for those specific pieces? I don’t want to be OP, I just want a Level 80 item. It doesn’t have to be really, really good. Just enough that I can kill something in under 15 seconds.

In other words, I’m not looking for something where I can get into dungeons and all of that other stuff. Just something to set me up where I would be able to (hopefully if this is even possible) solo the soloable content of the upcoming expansion. That’s all I want.

Buy them off the trading post? Rares(yellow) cost around 30-40 silver a piece, iirc. Exotics can range from 2-6 gold apiece.

It adds to the character appearance, and if you look well, that is the main form of progression the game offers. But it comes at a very high price which is you have to create the personal story and fit all animations and armors to the new body shape.

Yes, basically, a new playable race would be fluff since it won’t play significantly different to another race of the same profession. Time and budget spent developing a new playable race could be directed to, say creating a new profession or new set of elite specialization. See where I’m going at here?

I was under the impression that adding a new playable race does not add much to gameplay, hence it’s unlikely to happen.

also, if you’re planning to buy ascended trinkets with laurels, keep in mind that you can’t equip 2 of the same trinket(same name) as they are unique

I don’t know if this was mentioned, but I think the problem with the side effect of taunt is a programming one.

Based on my limited programming knowledge, I’d say taunt does these things.

1. locks the target of the affected character to the source of the taunt
2. forces characters under taunt to run to(and attack) the target

I assume the reason they did this was for simplicity. I think some of you forget that there are few targeting options in the game that would have a negative effect on taunt, the biggest suspect would be “Stop autoattacking on target change” which could be exploited to prevent attacking the source of the taunt.

Player A buys gems with real money, player A converts gems into gold because that is the feature Player A’s money paid for in development costs/server upkeep/employee wages.

Player B converts gold to gems (Player A’s Gems)
Player A should get the expansion pack because Player B stole Player A’s money… wait, that isn’t how it works. Anet isn’t paying you to earn gold.

You are not an employee of Anet, Player A did not give you their money in any form. Essentially you’re expecting Player A to shell out $60 for their gems, which you snatch up with in game gold, AND to shell out another $60 if they want the xpac while you buy the xpac with the gems you snatched from them?

So Player A, essentially, paid for yours and their expansions.

player A chose to shell out $60 in gems then convert it to gold, he didnt have to, but he had the urge to need gold. considering the gem conversion is anonymously done, player B could in no shape or form convince player A to spend $60 dollars in gems then convert it or even specifically convert player A’s gems.

Specialization unlocks a new weapon type previously unusable by your profession. Engineers get hammers, Necromancers get greatswords, and Mesmers get a shield… Wait what? An offhand weapon?

From the perspective of weapon skills unlocked, don’t you think that specializations unlocking an offhand weapon is weak compared to unlocking 2hand weapons?

are we talking about the same game where i leveled a new toon to 80 in 2 weeks just doing events? and that’s slow compared to others using the really quick methods.

Yeah it needs to be cheaper, frankly more then half the time I enter edge of the mists there is no commander and random mob. Why? because nobody can afford it. The times we do have a commander it’s one of the same 6 that do edge all the time.

I play on Tarnished coast, a large server and we have a problem not having commanders most all the time. I can’t imagine what it’s like on smaller servers.

Can we make commander tags cheaper? There is literally 0 reason for it to be so expensive other then preventing half the map from having a tag. For how required they are for wvw and how edge of the mists is supposed to be for leveling and learning and not too organized, there isn’t a single thing in place designed to get the group some organization. No cheap commander tags only usable in edge nothing. Something needs to be changed to the commander tag system. Either make it worth the while to spend 300 kitten gold on it or make it cheaper. This is stupid.

don’t make me laugh. a T1 server without commanders? what are you smoking?

As downside, have you ever considered what it would be like if commander tags were cheaper? yeah, you’d have a lot of mediocre commanders running around

Yes.
Try doing that several times per dungeon to optimize your run. Especially between 2-handed and 2 single-handed weapons.
It gets tiresome very quickly.
Also there are lazy players and they won’t even change sets if they have to do more than click a button and thus they are not as productive as they could be.
